Sexual identity fails to adhere to the dichotomous models, transcending to a more fluid quality than normative compulsory heterosexuality. The present study investigates the experience of bi-curiosity, focusing on its initiation among young women residing in urban India. Bi-curiosity, a sexual orientation questioning marked by exploratory experiences, is a possible but not a necessary precursor to bisexuality. This qualitative study explores on the psychological and social factors contributing to a bi-curious orientation. It focuses on the subjective processes of development and maintenance of sexual identity questioning. Three organizing themes emerged from the Reflective Thematic Analysis: (a.) Affective Indicators, (b.) Social Experiences, and (c.) Intimacy in friendships. While sexual identity questioning was propelled by more psychological factors, like physical attraction, fantasy, experienced jealousy toward men, and comfort with the same sex, social and environmental factors contribute significantly. Individual experiences with patriarchy, social attitudes toward same-sex relationships, and their representation on media platforms often reinforce the process. Another important contributor was womens close friendships with the same sex, which are sites for physical closeness, emotional intimacy, and personal growth, and share these characteristics with romantic relationships. These factors emerged as important reinforcers to the development and maintenance of sexual identity questioning. 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

Purpose: This research aims to identify the factors that influence the investment intention of retail investors in Indian REITs. The study incorporates the theory of planned behavior and innovation diffusion theory as the research framework, with perceived risk and mass media influence as additional constructs. Design/methodology/approach: Primary data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from 534 potential investors in India. The data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling. Findings: The study showed that factors such as relative advantage, compatibility, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and mass media significantly and positively influence investment intention in Indian REITs. However, perceived risk was found to have a negative and significant influence, while complexity did not affect investment intention. Originality/value: This is the first quantitative investigation into determining the factors influencing the investment intention of Indian retail investors on Indian REITs. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited.

Memes are the perfect marketing tools a brand can use while promoting their products or services. In this ever-changing consumer preferences memes are the convenient marketing tools that a consumer pays attention, the usage of memes has become a completely modern approach for brands to seek the attention of consumers. The study examines the impact of internet meme that spreads through social media which catches the consumer attention and improves the intention of purchasing products and also learn about the brands. A structured questionnaire and convenience sampling technique are designed to collect data from frequent internet users who are active in social media from Gen-z and have at least a little knowledge on meme marketing, and responses yielded were 353. This paper gives a general study of meme marketing and if the consumer brand relatability and purchase decisions are affected by meme marketing. The findings state that there is a relationship between branding memes and consumer brand relatability and using the memes in social handles affect the consumer behaviour however there is a discomfort among consumers when brands solely use memes for marketing purposes. Also the study found that there is no significance between Gender and meme motivation into buying products. Thus the study contributes to understand the consumer behaviour, purchase intention and likeliness towards the brands. In addition, the authors contribute to the finding the significance of meme in daily life of a consumer and what type of memes would pursue consumers more towards the brand. Epidemiology is a vital tool of public health. The usefulness of epidemiology is not only about numbers of persons' ill in the community but also to understand the associations, the presentation, identification of new syndromes, to map the historical trends, and calculate morbid risk. The emotional impact of the diagnosis of cancer is well-recognized. Indian cancer research relating to the psychosocial aspects has been largely limited to counting the numbers with psychiatric syndromes. The review covers 12 years of the Indian research in psycho-oncology to understand the different aspects of epidemiology. During the review period, there are growing number of epidemiological studies (29); psychiatric morbidity ranges from 41.7% to 46%; and prevalence rate ranges from 4.4% to 97.8% for anxiety and 1.2%-89.9% for depression; majority of the studies have used one-stage screening for assessment, which is not the ideal method of identifying mental disorders. The severity of the disorders is presented only in nine studies. Quality of life is the most common associated dimension of the studies. There is the absence of studies of posttraumatic growth, resilience, and spirituality. This review calls for greater rigor in the planning of studies of emotional impact, especially the use of two-stage method, longitudinal studies, studies of different types of cancer and in different stages, include additional measures such as disease burden, coping, resilience, spirituality, and the family/social factors to understand the emotional aspects of living with cancer. There is a need for describing the emotional aspects of living with cancer (lived-in experiences) beyond the clinical syndromes. 2020 Indian Journal of Palliative Care.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) has now included Internet Gaming disorder in section III as the condition that warrants more clinical research. Internet or Online gaming has become one of the most popular sources of entertainment among children and adolescents, representing the fastest-growing segment leading to hazards as well. Thus, there is a requirement for a psycho-therapeutic intervention module to help in overall psychological well-being of the adolescents suffering from Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD). A total of 8 adolescents suffering from IGD were treated with scientifically prepared psycho-therapeutic module in total of 12 group sessions. The eclectic approach to treatment is proven to be effective for adolescents yielding significant improvement in the clinical condition and promotes wise engagement in gaming. (2023). Education is an essential resource for individuals and societies, and it plays a significant role in shaping the future of any nation. Depriving a generation of young children of their basic right to quality education can easily be regarded as the highest form of injustice in a society. Bihar, which was once the epitome of education and knowledge across the world, is now counted among the states with the lowest literacy rates and the poorest educational infrastructure. While a list of reasons can be enumerated behind this downfall, including historic and social reasons, it is prudent to act on those that we can effectively alter and improve upon, such as infrastructure and teaching quality. The quality of education provided to students is influenced by various factors, such as infrastructure, teacher quality, and student-teacher relationships. This study explores the moderating effect of infrastructure on the relationship between teacher quality and student outcome in secondary education in Bihar, mapping an intriguing contrast with Kerala, the state with the highest literacy rate in India. With the help of a simple moderation analysis and drawing on the resource dependency theory, our findings indicate that the moderation effect of infrastructure on student outcome is stronger in Bihar than in Kerala. This study highlights the urgent need to prioritise consolidating and enhancing the quality of education in schools in Bihar rather than adding up a number of concrete blocks. 2024 Patliputra School of Economics.

Purpose: Indias historical fiscal performance has featured elevated deficit levels. Driven by the imperative need for fiscal stimulus measures in response to the crisis, efforts toward fiscal consolidation from 2003 to 2008 were reversed in 20082009 due to the financial crisis. These stimulus actions are believed to have wielded a notable influence on inflation dynamics. Presumably, a high inflation rate hinders growth and inflicts severe welfare costs. Accordingly, the principal objective of this paper is to scrutinise the threshold effects of fiscal deficit on inflation within the context of the Indian economy. Design/methodology/approach: We employed the Smooth Transition Autoregressive (STAR) Model, a robust tool for capturing non-linear relationships, to discern the specific threshold level of fiscal deficit. Our analysis encompasses annual data spanning from 1971 to 2020. Additionally, we have leveraged the Toda-Yamamoto causality test to establish the existence and direction of a causal connection between fiscal deficit and inflation in the Indian economy. Findings: Our analysis pinpointed a critical threshold level of 3.40% for fiscal deficit, a value beyond which inflation dynamics in India undergo a marked transition, signifying the presence of significant non-linear effects. Moreover, the results derived from the Toda-Yamamoto causality test offer substantiating evidence of a causal relationship originating from the fiscal deficit and leading to inflation within the Indian economic framework. Research limitations/implications: The findings of our study carry significant implications, particularly for the formulation and execution of both fiscal and monetary policies. Understanding the threshold effects of fiscal deficit on inflation in India provides policymakers with valuable insights into achieving a harmonious balance between these two critical economic variables. Originality/value: To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first of its kind to empirically investigate threshold effects of fiscal deficit on inflation in India from a non-linear perspective using the Smooth Transition Autoregression (STAR) model. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited.

In the competitive landscape of mobile food ordering applications (MFOA) in India, the primary focus is enhancing the customer experience to mirror or even exceed their offline meal acquisition experiences. Existing research underscores the pivotal role of a superior online experience in driving business success. Against the backdrop of a dearth of studies addressing online customer experience (OCE), our current research seeks to gain insight into its state and its implications for attitudes and intentions. Specifically, we investigate the impact of OCE on the continued usage intentions (CUI) of new MFOA users. This study not only sheds light on the relationship between OCE and CUI but also presents a fresh configuration of OCE, addressing its varied conceptualization. Furthermore, drawing on data collected from over 400 first-time users of MFOA, our findings reveal that e-satisfaction and e-trust act as full mediators in influencing CUI. Finally, the study also suggests that e-trust mediates the effect of e-satisfaction on the CUI of MFOA users. Our research contributes to our understanding of OCE by specifically highlighting the experiences and outcomes of first-time users of MFOAs. Practitioners should employ strategies including personalized orientation and data gathering, location-based services, in-app messaging, push notifications and gamification techniques to increase OCE and drive CUI. In the context of the hierarchical model of galaxy evolution, polar ring galaxies (PRGs) are considered the intermediate phase between ongoing mergers and quiescent galaxies. This study explores the globular cluster system (GCS) and its properties in the nearest PRG, NGC4262, serving as a pilot investigation to study GCS in nearby PRGs. We utilize wide and deep-field observations of the CFHT as part of the NGVS to investigate the GCS of NGC4262. We presented the first optical image of NGC4262 with an optically faint ring component. The photometric analysis of the GCS displays a distinct colour bimodality. We estimate the total number of GCs for NGC4262 to be 266 16 GCs with a specific frequency of 4.2 0.8 and a specific mass of 0.23 0.01, which is relatively high compared to other galaxies of similar mass and environmental conditions. The spatial and azimuthal distributions of subpopulations reveal strong evidence of previous interactions within the host galaxy. The colour distribution of GCS in NGC4262 shows a gradient of 0.05 0.01 within 5.5, supporting the notion of past interactions and evolutionary transitions. PRG NGC4262 conforms to the overall trend of the GCS mass with respect to the halo mass. Furthermore, our investigation of the global scaling relations between GCS and host galaxy parameters provides further support for the hypothesis that PRGs are an intermediate phase connecting ongoing mergers and quiescent galaxies. 2024 The Author(s). Making investment decisions is a complex process that is influenced by data from non-accounting and accounting sources. In order to better understand the importance of financial reports in comparison to non-accounting data [1], this article examines this complexity. The study is guided by three main objectives: determining the relative importance of financial reports against non-accounting sources; determining the effect of non-accounting information on investment decisions [2]; and investigating the role of demographic factors on this effect. The study finds that, when making investment decisions, shareholders more frequently turn to non-accounting sources through thorough analysis and statistical testing. Notably, credit rating agencies, stock indices, and brokers all have a big say in how decisions are made, highlighting their significance. This work improves our knowledge of how accounting and non-accounting data interact to influence investment decision-making. It emphasizes how crucial it is to take into account a variety of information sources in order to make wise financial decisions [3]. All over the world, traditional models of art activism through dance involved performances that reached a limited audience, while the advent of networked digital spaces has vastly expanded the scope of art activism to a global level. Offering a qualitative netnographic exploration of how Bharatanatyam has been employed for such art activism in the digital space, this article examines the implications for this prominent traditional South Indian dance form in terms of stylistic changes as well as viewer reactions. Through content analysis of the viewer responses to ten popular renditions uploaded on YouTube over five years (20162020), we trace how the art form is evolving and how activist goals are reciprocated by the audience. Our findings confirm that Bharatanatyam has great potential to evolve by adapting novel social themes. However, while such contemporary renditions may elicit viewer responses that critically appraise specific social issues and pave the way for social change, the resulting innovations continue to co-exist with old conflicts and tensions about traditional art and its uses. 2023 The Author(s).

Bi Functional Manganese-Pyridine 2,6 Dicarboxylic Acid Metal Organic Frameworks with Reduced Graphene Oxide as an Electroactive Material for Energy Storage and Water Splitting Applications

In recent years, metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with porous carbon materials have significantly improved the design and engineering of high performance electrode materials and have found applications in energy storage devices. This study explores the supercapacitor and electrocatalytic water splitting applications of Mn-MOF/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composite synthesized via a hydrothermal technique using pyridine 2,6 dicarboxylic acid as a linker. Mn-MOF/rGO exhibits a specific capacitance of 428.28 F g?1 with a rate capability of 83.7% and high cyclic stability. The oxygen evolution reaction of the composite is evaluated using linear sweep voltammetry, and the overpotential is calculated to be 400 mV. Our primary goal is to investigate the effect of rGO on the electrochemical response of MOF. The dielectrode (Mn-MOF/rGO) electrolysis system exhibits long-run stability with a low cell potential of 1.8 V, indicating its prospective application as an excellent water electrolyzer. The combination of Mn-MOF with rGO helps in increasing the number of active sites, thereby improving its electronic conductivity by enhancing the electron transfer rate. The outstanding electrochemical behaviour of Mn-MOF/rGO paves the way for the use of rGO-incorporated Mn-MOF in bifunctional applications as energy-generating and storage devices. 2023 The Electrochemical Society (ECS). The core component of the Soft Computing (SC) domain gives outstanding performances for solving problems compared to other problems solving techniques. In order to solve difficult problems, the majority of researchers are concentrating on the soft computing field. The sub-domains of the soft computing field include Genetic Algorithms, Fuzzy Logic, Machine Learning, Neural Networks, and others. In this paper, we aimed to investigate the contributions made by Indian organizations and authors on the topic of soft computing and its applications for the years 1999 to 2018 for the Scopus database. The study confirmed that the most number of papers published in the neural network with a count of 2127 and the most productive author was M.ChintamaniDeo, with 22 papers with the highest h-index and the Indian Institute of Technology, The most productive institution in the subject of Soft Computing is Roorkee, which has contributed 109 publications overall, garnered 355 citations, and has an h-index of 9. This led us to the conclusion that, in comparison to other sub-domains in the field of Soft Computing and its Applications, Indian Institutions and Indian Authors have produced the majority of publications in Neural Networks and Artificial Intelligence. 2024, Ismail Saritas. Bibliometric Analysis of AI Research in Sustainable Smart Cities

Smart cities have the potential to improve city-wide governance, environmental sustainability, sustainable transportation, and economic growth. Urban areas may find these advantages useful in their pursuit of SDG-11 objectives. A key component of smart city architecture is the addition of artificial intelligence (AI) and other smart technology into urban areas. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is a major machine learning approach. A number of review studies have already been published, reflecting the substantial interest in artificial neural networks (ANN) for smart city applications. In the past, researchers have shown an interest in studying structural monitoring applications, transportation systems, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things (IoT). But knowledge about how ANN can help Smart Cities achieve SDG-11 is limited. This paper provides a systematic bibliometric analysis of present research trends on artificial neural networks for smart cities, with an emphasis on SDG-11. The research employed a keyword-based search to obtain 131 papers for content analysis and 743 papers for descriptive analysis. Both the amount of interest in the topic and the tendency for related topics to cluster have increased exponentially, according to the findings. Urbanization, Transportation, and Eco-friendly were identified as the main topics of this study.
