<text>Electro-organic chemistry offers a sustainable and efficient approach to organic synthesis by utilizing electrochemical processes. This field has gained significant attention due to its potential for minimizing waste, reducing energy consumption, and enabling selective transformations. Herein, we report the development of a graphitic carbon nitride-coated carbon fiber electrode modified with electropolymerized amino-2-thiazole and electrodeposited Cu2O nanoparticles from copper nitrate trihydrate for the oxidation of Indole-3-carbinol (IC). Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies were carried out to characterize the developed electrode. Cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and bulk electrolysis techniques were employed for the electrochemical studies. The enhanced electrochemical activity of the Cu2O-pAT-GCN-TCFP electrode compared to the individual GCN and polymer electrode was studied using electrochemical characterization, which revealed a 3-fold increase in the current response for Cu2O-pAT-GCN-TCFP (0.0011 A) compared to the bare electrode. The reaction was carried out using an aqueous carbonate buffer solution as an electrolyte via bulk electrolysis at a set potential of 0.82 V. The product obtained was isolated by column chromatography to obtain a yield of 74% and characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy. Additionally, the Cu2O-pAT-GCN-TCFP electrode was studied for its stability, reproducibility, and selectivity. 2024 The Electrochemical Society (ECS). <text>The purpose of this research is to look into the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on the relationship between oil prices and the Asian stock market. While earlier studies have investigated the impact of oil prices on stock markets, there has been little research into the impact of crude oil prices on the Asian stock market in the context of the Russia-Ukraine war. For this purpose, the data is collected from NSE and Bloomberg database the study's findings imply that the Russia-Ukraine war has had a major impact on the relationship between crude oil prices and stock market indices in numerous Asia-Pacific countries. The study suffers from a few limitations such as it only examines the relationship between crude oil prices and stock market indices but there are other macroeconomic factors, such as interest rates, inflation, and political instabil ity which also affect the market. 2024, ASERS Publishing House. <text>This study focuses on the synthesis of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles and compares their amorphous and crystalline phases, emphasizing their suitability for photocatalytic dye degradation. The as-prepared Al2O3, synthesized using the sol-gel technique, is found to have an amorphous nature, which is later annealed at 1200C to obtain its ? phase of crystalline nature. Despite the widespread applications of aluminum oxide in various fields, the differences between its amorphous and crystalline phases are not well understood. This work bridges this gap by evaluating the amorphous and crystalline phases of Al2O3, particularly for dye degradation. As technologies advance to enhance aluminum-containing photocatalytic materials by doping, composites, and hybrids, understanding the impact of material phase on photocatalytic capabilities becomes crucial. The research comprehensively assesses structural, functional, morphological, optical, and dye degradation characteristics. Remarkably, amorphous Al2O3 demonstrates superior dye degradation efficacy compared with its crystalline counterpart, achieving an enhanced degradation efficiency of 87.2% for rhodamine B, a commonly used azo dye in the printing and textile industries. 2024 Emerald Publishing Limited: All rights reserved.</text>

<text>In this study, we have carried out an in-depth, idiographic exploration of how Indian clients describe their experiences of emotional abuse in a parent-adult child context from a social justice lens. This study focused on the contribution of persisting systemic influences, including gender and culture, in maintaining emotional abuse. We collected data from seven participants through a semi-structured interview schedule, and utilized an interpretative phenomenological analysis for the research design and analysis. Findings indicatedvarious cultural and gender norms were responsible for contributing to and maintaining emotional abuse. The five master themes developed included Unmet Emotional Needs, Mental Health Issues due to Impact of Emotional Abuse, Gender and Culture Norms as Backgrounded, Unfair and Oppressive Norms and Attitudes, and Intergenerational Nature of Norms, Beliefs, and Abuse. Implications for counsellors, policymakers, and researchers in the fields of counselling and psychotherapy, social justice, social psychology, and critical psychology are discussed. <text>Smart healthcare has advanced the medical industry with the integration of data-driven approaches. Artificial intelligence and machine learning provided remarkable progress, but there is a lack of transparency and interpretability in such applications. To overcome such limitations, explainable AI (EXAI) provided a promising result. This paper applied the EXAI for disease diagnosis in the advancement of smart healthcare. The paper combined the approach of transfer learning, vision transformer, and explainable AI and designed an ensemble approach for prediction of disease and its severity. The result is evaluated on a dataset of Alzheimer's disease. The result analysis compared the performance of transfer learning models with the ensemble model of transfer learning and vision transformer. For training, InceptionV3, VGG19, Resnet50, and Densenet121 transfer learning models were selected for ensembling with vision transformer. The result compares the performance of two models: a transfer learning (TL) model and an ensemble transfer learning (Ensemble TL) model combined with vision transformer (ViT) on ADNI dataset. For the TL model, the accuracy is 58 %, precision is 52 %, recall is 42 %, and the F1-score is 44 %. Whereas, the Ensemble TL model with ViT shows significantly improved performance i.e., 96 % of accuracy, 94 % of precision, 90 % of recall and 92 % of F1-score on ADNI dataset. This shows the efficacy of the ensemble model over transfer learning models. 2024</text>

<text>The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of chicken feather hydrolysate for promoting the growth of Spinacia oleracea L., a commonly consumed leafy green vegetable. An earlier isolated and identified keratinolytic bacterial species Bacillus tropicus was utilized for the preparation of chicken feather hydrolysate through submerged fermentation. Minimal media which was supplemented with chicken feather was used for the preparation of hydrolysate. The bacterial strain degraded chicken feather within 4 days of incubation after which the feather hydrolysate was collected and tested to check plant growth promoting activity through the seed germination trials and greenhouse study. Upon characterization of feather hydrolysate, it was found that the hydrolysate was a cocktail of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (NPK) as well as other micro elements needed for plant growth. Four different concentrations of feather hydrolysate were employed for both the seed germination and greenhouse study which ranged from 25% (v/v), 30% (v/v), 35% (v/v) and 40% (v/v) including a control group (CN) which was not supplemented with feather hydrolysate. The hydrolysate supplementation brought about plant growth in all the four test concentrations with 35% (v/v) giving the highest result of 14 cm and 27.6 mg/g for tested parameters like plumule length and total chlorophyll content, respectively. The same concentration supported maximum seed germination and highest radicle extension for the germination studies as well. This study investigates the efficacy of chicken feather hydrolysate in promoting spinach growth, elucidating its potential as a fertilizer. The Author(s) 2024. Open Access.</text>

<text>Porphyrins hybrids have been used as models to study various energy/electron transfer processes. The linkers connecting various subunits in such hybrids are vital in establishing good electronic communication between the subunits and the azo-bridge can be one of the efficient linkers to do so. Despite of these, the mono azo-bridged porphyrin-arene hybrids reported in the literature are only handful and the methods used to create them are not that efficient. In addition, the porphyrins used in this field so far contains only six-membered meso-substituents. By keeping these points in mind, we have developed a mild, one-pot, work-up-free, high-yielding method to synthesize mono-azo-bridged, porphyrin-arene hybrids which also features porphyrins containing three five-membered substituents like 2-furyl or 2-thienyl on their meso-positions. Along with the NMR and mass characterizations, the photophysical and computational studies of all the reported hybrids are presented. The hybrids containing meso-tris(2-furyl/thienyl) substituted porphyrins displayed red-shifted absorption and emission bands compared to their all-meso-aryl-containing counterparts. In general, all the hybrids displayed enhanced fluorescence quantum yields compared to their precursor porphyrins. Among the series, the meso-tris(2-furyl) substituted porphyrin-arene hybrids exhibited the more significant Stokes shift and small bandgap. The computational studies were in good agreement with the experimental findings. 2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH.</text>

<text>Cobalt oxide is a promising material that attracts the researchers to find its application in various fields like catalysts, dielectric applications, gas sensors and electronics devices, etc. In this work, we investigated the effect of temperature in the structural, elemental, morphological and optical properties of Co3O4 nanoparticles synthesized by hydrothermal method. The as-prepared and annealed samples were observed for their structural and optical properties. The structural analysis and micro-strain effects of Co3O4 nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure were carried out through X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies. The crystallite size of as-prepared and annealed samples were around 27 nm and 29 nm, respectively. Raman spectrum showed the lattice vibrations of both oxidation states of cobalt oxide nanoparticles. Elemental analysis were observed through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The morphology and chemical composition of the samples were determined from the field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) image and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX). Moreover, the internal structure of both samples were compared through transmission electron microscopic (TEM) studies. The optical studies were done using the absorption spectrum and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Two direct band gaps (1.8 and 3.2 eV) were observed in the as-prepared, which got red-shifted on annealing (1.7 and 2.5 eV) due to size effects. The charge transfer process in two oxidation states of cobalt oxide could be identified from these bandgaps. Emission peaks in the photoluminescence spectrum of samples are due to the recombination of free-excitons and point defects in the crystal lattice. 2024</text>

<text>In this study, we successfully synthesized a pyrazole derivative, specifically 4-phenylpiperidin-4-ol substituted pyrazole (CHP), through the reaction of Grignard reagents in combination with pyrazole. This newly synthesized molecule was subjected to a comprehensive evaluation for both its photophysical and biological applications. Notably, CHP exhibited promising invitro antifungal and antibacterial activities, primarily attributed to the presence of the 4-phenylpiperidin-4-ol moiety and resulting component contributed to an enhanced absorption rate of lipids, thereby improving the pharmacological activity of CHP. This correlation between structure and function was further supported by the outcomes of structure-activity relationship studies. Additionally, we conducted in silico studies to examine the molecular interactions of the synthesized molecule with key proteins, including DNA Gyrase, Lanosterol 14 ?-demethylase, and KEAP1-NRF2. The results unveiled robust binding interactions at specific sites within these proteins, indicating potential therapeutic relevance. Furthermore, the photophysical properties of the synthesized compounds were thoroughly investigated using the ab-initio technique. This involved the determination of ground state optimization and HOMO-LUMO energy levels, all calculated with the DFT-B3LYP-6-31G(d) basis set. The assessment of the theoretically estimated HOMO-LUMO value provided insights into the global chemical reactivity descriptors, revealing that the synthesized molecule boasts a highly electronegative and electrophilic index. Taken together, our findings suggest that pyrazole derivatives with 4-phenylpiperidin-4-ol substitutions exhibit promising applications in both photophysical and biological contexts. 2024 Ghaferah H. <text>Multifunctional soft robots are emerging as a new-generation intelligent device for challenging environments. To meet the requirements of smart applications and soft robotics, developing a soft actuator capable of multiple functions and mechanical deformation is essential. In this study, we designed a free-standing magnetic soft actuator constructed from iron oxide (Fe2O3) nanoparticles and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), that responds to both moisture and magnetic fields. We used computational modeling (density functional theory and ab initio molecular dynamics) to explain the experimental findings demonstrating the deformation and high-bending angle (?150), which is about twice as large under combined moisture and magnetic field exposure compared to their individual effect. Additionally, a flower-shaped soft robot was designed by using the continuous bending deformation of the actuator in response to moisture changes, performing directional bending in an ambient environment. These findings demonstrate the materials sensitivity to moisture and magnetic fields, opening up new possibilities for designing responsive structures in the smart device industry. 2024 American Chemical Society.</text>

<text>Background: In recent years, various phytomedicines have been used in the treatment of hepatic disorders. The aim of this study is to find out whether Peltophorum pterocarpum bark and leaves can help rats that have been exposed to isoniazid and rifampicin-induced hepatotoxicity. Materials and Methods: The rats were divided into 10 groups each with 6 rats. The liver damage is induced by isoniazid and rifampicin. The leaf and bark of P. pterocarpum extracted with ethanol are freshly mixed in sterile water (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight), and given to rats orally in the early morning as a single dosage per day until the study period. The animals were sacrificed and the tissue and serum samples were collected for further investigations. Results: The liver damage induced by isoniazid and rifampicin altered the various biochemical parameters levels, but after the treatment of P. pterocarpum barks and leaves the levels were significantly altered when compared to the negative control rats. The drug silymarin was used as a standard. Conclusion: The extracts have the protective effect of liver markers and membrane-bound enzymes against the toxin-treated rats. This result highlights the hepatoprotective properties of the leaves and barks of the plant in a similar manner and the formulation (Group 10) have high beneficial effects than other groups. 2024</text>

<text>Ferrocenyl aniline is an excellent catalyst used conventionally for heterocyclic syntheses. The use of ferrocenyl aniline, in the presence of electropolymerized thiophene-3-acetic acid (TAA) on carbon fibre paper is novel and found to be an exceptional electrocatalyst, for the synthesis of a proven anti-fungal, anti-proliferative and anti-bacterial, 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole. The electrode performance was examined with activity studies and EIS, along with surface characterizations including optical profilometry, FE-SEM, FT-IR and XPS. The synthesis was performed in a single-cell three electrode system, using platinum as counter and saturated calomel electrode (SCE) as the reference, with ethanol as the electrolyte and lithium perchlorate supporting electrolyte. The reaction was performed with o-phenylenediamine and anisaldehyde as starting materials at ambient temperature and pressure, at 1.35 V constant potential for 3 h, and product was isolated and purified using column chromatography to obtain 91% yield and characterized with GCMS and NMR. This synthesis method is noteworthy, due to its environmentally friendly performance, and high yield for a benzimidazole derivative that is pharmacologically vital. 2024</text>

<text>This paper focuses on the dual quality of blood, Newtonian and non-Newtonian, in particular by exploring the energy curves. Careful investigation of the dual property of blood has been made by considering two different geometries to represent a stenosed arterial segment. We present a cautious assessment of non-Newtonian blood rheology impacts in arterial stream simulations by coupling the Newtonian and non-Newtonian models. The flow of energy through the two flow dimensions is meticulously investigated using velocity (kinetic energy), pressure, and wall shear stress (pressure energy). Besides, the proper implementation of an interface boundary condition (IBC) was emphasized to ensure consistency with the flow conditions downstream of a backward-facing step. The integration of the Newtonian and non-Newtonian models adjoins the novelty of the current research. The energy curves are obtained by implementing five different non-Newtonian models to designate a suitable non-Newtonian model for blood flow investigations. The combination of the non-Newtonian models enforced in this research is novel and particular attention is paid to the energy curves obtained. The conclusion was to elect the Carreau model as a suitable non-Newtonian rheological model for the blood flow study. This study was able to finalize the fact that the coupling of Newtonian and non-Newtonian models is necessary to obtain accurate results. For the sinusoidal waveform considered for the velocity, Carreau and the Power law models yield better results, eliminating the other non-Newtonian models from the list. With a better inlet condition imposed in the form of the Fourier series for pressure and velocity, the Carreau model yields the best results. 2024 World Scientific Publishing Company.</text>

<text>Diabetes mellitus (DM), a multifactorial chronic health condition, affects a sizable portion of the global population, and more people are expected to contract it in the future, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO). Diabetes mellitus can be treated with conventional drugs, but most of the medications have a variety of side effects. The use of nanocomposites (NCs) to treat diabetes has been prioritized in this scenario. In this study, AgCuO NCs were synthesized using a green method using Mentha spicata leaf extract and their physicochemical properties were investigated with a variety of analytical techniques. According to an extensive in vivo and in vitro analysis of the biological activities of as-synthesized AgCuO NCs, AgCuO NCs possess effective antibacterial, anti-diabetic, and anti-hyperlipidemic characteristics. When AgCuO NCs are administered to STZ-induced animals in a concentration-based manner, the blood levels of inflammatory and liver marker enzymes are reduced and antioxidant enzyme levels are increased. Besides, AgCuO NCs exhibit excellent sensing activity with a limit of detection of 86 nM against Vitamin-C. This study reveals that AgCuO NCs derived from Mentha spicata may, therefore, prove to be a very successful anti-diabetic and biosensor candidate in the future. 2024 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Purpose: The central aspect of this paper is the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, an education-based policy in the Indian context. The article captured the opportunities from the perspective of the skill set it offers to its important stakeholders, students; the current research has aimed to propose and validate an instrument to measure the skill set identified from the NEP document and academic expertise, which could be used to measure students skill-based performance. Design/Methodology/Approach: The first section used EFA to establish four skill sets: Employability Skills, Communal-Based Skills, Social and Emotional Skills, and Individualistic Skills. The CFA model was further deployed to confirm the factors; the study was administered to a sample of 820 students from various commerce and management colleges from South and North Bangalore. Findings: The research results could be applied to evaluate the effectiveness of skill sets on students performance to create holistic education. Originality: The first step is to develop and validate scales for measuring skill sets under NEP 2020. Second, in accordance with the pupils order of priority, to close the gap between the talents stated and those observed. Research Limitations/Implications: The study was conducted only with students of commerce and management disciplines in Bangalore. Practical Implications: NEP has placed a greater emphasis on competency development and skill enhancement, which aids in the development of higher-order cognitive, social-emotional, and 21st-century abilities necessary for employment in the future. NEP gave greater autonomy to students to choose their learning pathway and develop skill sets, which are likely to make them job creators, thereby giving rise to the entrepreneurial culture. Social Implications: To cultivate an aspirational student body, it is critical to instill the necessary skill sets in pupils. Policymakers and decision-makers could then organize their courses using these skill sets. 2024, Associated Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd.. All rights reserved.</text>

<text>Ficus drupacea is a fruit-bearing tree that is distributed in Southeast Asia and Australia. The objective of this research was to ascertain the following with regard to ripened fruits: (i) their nutritional value, (ii) their mineral status, (iii) the fatty acid composition of fruit and seed oil, (iv) their phytochemical makeup, and (v) their antioxidant properties. The ripened fruits contained 3.21%, 3.25%, 0.92%, 1.47%, and 2.20% carbohydrate, protein, fat, ash, and fiber, respectively. Fruits had an energy content of 30.18 kcal/100 g. In terms of mineral content, the fruit was rich in potassium, magnesium, calcium, and nitrogen, with values of 21.03, 13.24, 11.07, and 4.13 mg/g DW. Iron, zinc, manganese, and boron had values of 686.67, 124.33, 114.40, and 35.78 g/g DW, respectively. The contents of oxalate and phytate were 14.44 and 2.8 mg/g FW, respectively. The fruit and seed oil content were 0.67 and 8.07%, respectively, and the oils physicochemical properties were comparable to those of fig fruit and seed oils. Omega-3 (?-linolenic acid), omega-6 (linoleic acid), and omega-9 (oleic acid) fatty acids were abundant in the oils. Fruit extracts in acetone, methanol, and water have greater concentrations of phenolics, flavonoids, and alkaloids. The 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, total antioxidant activity, and ferric reducing antioxidant power assays demonstrated increased antioxidant activities in close correlation with the higher concentrations of phenolics, flavonoids, and alkaloids. The results of this study demonstrate that the fruits of F. drupacea are a strong source of nutrients and phytochemicals, and they merit more investigation and thought for possible uses. 2024 by the authors.</text>

<text>Forecasting stock prices is always considered as complicated process due to the dynamic and noisy characteristics of stock data influenced by external factors. For predicting the stock market, several approaches have been put forward. Many academics have successfully forecasted stock prices using soft computing models. Recently, there has been growing interest in applying deep learning techniques in combination with technical indicators to forecast stock prices, attracting attention from both investors and researchers. This paper focuses on developing a reliable model for anticipating future stock prices in one day advance using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Three steps make up the suggested model. The approach begins with ten technical indicators computed from previous data as feature vectors. The second phase involves data normalization to scale the feature vectors. Finally, in the third phase, the LSTM model analyzes the closing price for the next day using the normalized characteristics as input. Two stock markets, NASDAQ and NYSE are chosen to evaluate the efficacy of the developed model. To demonstrate how effective the new model is in making predictions, its performance is compared to earlier models. Comparing the suggested model to other models, the findings revealed that it had a high level of prediction accuracy. <text>In this article, we study and analyze the two-dimensional time-fractional Cattaneo model with Riesz space distributed-order. To obtain approximate solutions of this type of fractional model the combined and effective numerical approach based on the ADI Galerkin method and the Legendre spectral method used the ADI Galerkin numerical method uses the finite difference approach. The ADI Galerkin numerical method is used to approximate the proposed model in terms of the time variable, and the Legendre spectral method is applied to discretize the fractional model with respect to the space variable. Also, the convergence analysis and stability of the proposed method are discussed and reviewed in this manuscript. In the end, some numerical examples are tested for the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. As well as, in the numerical examples section, the presented numerical approach is compared with two numerical methods and the results are reported in a table. 2024 IOP Publishing Ltd. <text>The coexistence of emerging pollutants like nanoplastics and xenoestrogen chemicals such as Bisphenol A (BPA) raises significant environmental concerns. While the individual impacts of BPA and polystyrene nanoplastics (PSNPs) on plants have been studied, their combined effects are not well understood. This study examines the interactions between eco-corona formation, physicochemical properties, and cyto-genotoxic effects of PSNPs and BPA on onion (Allium cepa) root tip cells. Eco-corona formation was induced by exposing BPA-PSNP mixtures to soil extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), and changes were analyzed using 3D-EEM, TEM, FTIR, hydrodynamic diameter, and contact angle measurements. Onion roots were treated with BPA (2.5, 5, and 10 mgL-1) combined with plain, aminated, and carboxylated PSNPs (100 mgL-1), with and without EPS interaction. Toxicity was assessed via cell viability, oxidative stress markers (superoxide radical, total ROS, hydroxyl radical), lipid peroxidation, SOD and catalase activity, mitotic index, and chromosomal abnormalities. BPA alone increased cytotoxic and genotoxic parameters in a dose-dependent manner. BPA with aminated PSNPs exhibited the highest toxicity among the pristine mixtures, revealing increased chromosomal abnormalities, oxidative stress, and cell mortality with rising BPA concentrations. In-silico experiments demonstrated the relationship between superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase enzymes, PSNPs, BPA, and their mixtures. EPS adsorption notably reduced cyto-genotoxic effects, lipid peroxidation, and ROS levels, mitigating the toxicity of BPA-PSNP mixtures. 2024 Elsevier B.V.</text>
