<text>The cities of the world have been the exploiters of resources and the largest generators of waste. This paper explores the concept of Ecological Urbanism as a framework to convert cities from being waste generators to resource producers. The example of the wastewater from Bengaluru going into the lakes of Kolar is studied. The treated wastewater of the city reaches Kolar to fill its lakes, which subsequently recharges the groundwater. One citys waste becomes anothers resource in this process. The case of Kolar-Bengaluru is studied while asking critical questions of urban-rural planning with ecology as a main premise. 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.</text>

<text>A major cause of death in the elderly worldwide is attributed to neurodegenerative diseases, such as AD (Alzheimers disease), PD (Parkinsons disease), ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), FRDA (Friedreichs ataxia), VaD (Vascular dementia) etc. These can be caused due to multiple factors such as genetic, physiological problems like stroke or tumor, or even external causes like viruses, toxins, or chemicals. T3s (tocotrienols) exhibit various bioactive properties where it acts as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumorigenic, and cholesterol lowering agent. Since T3 interferes with and influences several anti-inflammatory mechanisms, it aids in combating inflammatory responses that lead to disease progression. T3s are found to have a profound neuroprotective ability, however, due to their poor oral bioavailability, their full potential could not be exploited. Hence there is a need to explore other drug delivery techniques, especially focusing on aspects of nanotechnology. In this review paper we explore the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of T3 to apply it in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and also discusses the possibilities of nano methods of administering tocotrienols to target neurodegenerative diseases. <text>The term Internet of Things (IoT) represents a vast interconnected network comprising ordinary objects enhanced with electronics like sensors, actuators, and wireless connectivity. These augmentations enable seamless communication and data sharing among devices. IoT constitutes an ecosystem of programs, systems, and technologies that operate across diverse communication services. In our rapidly evolving world, cutting-edge technologies are swiftly gaining prominence. IoT, in particular, strives to proliferate innovative applications, programs, and communication amalgamating the virtual and physical realms. The bedrock of this communication is the machine-to-machine communication paradigm. IoT encompasses a spectrum of technologies encompassing smart vehicles, efficient vehicle parking management systems, and roadway-embedded sensors, culminating in the vision of a smart city. Such integration has the potential to alleviate traffic congestion and curb energy consumption. The impact of IoT extends to power generation and business operations, promising transformative outcomes. Furthermore, the synergy between IoT and cloud computing plays a pivotal role in the wireless communication domain. This paper offers a comprehensive insight into IoT's functionalities and underscores the associated security threats. The study aims to equip academia with an enhanced understanding of diverse IoT applications, particularly their integration with cloud computing, referred to as the Cloud of Things.. 2023 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.</text>

<text>Active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback and its impact on their host galaxies are critical to our understanding of galaxy evolution. Here, we present a combined analysis of new high resolution ultraviolet (UV) data from the Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on AstroSat and archival optical spectroscopic data from the Very Large Telescope/MUSE, for the Seyfert galaxy, NGC 1365. Concentrating on the central 5 kpc region, the UVIT images in the far- and near-UV show bright star-forming knots in the circumnuclear ring as well as a faint central source. After correcting for extinction, we found the star formation rate (SFR) surface density of the circumnuclear 2 kpc ring to be similar to other starbursts, despite the presence of an AGN outflow, as seen in [O iii] 5007 On the other hand, we found fainter UV and thus lower SFR in the direction southeast of the AGN relative to northwest in agreement with observations at other wavelengths from JWST and Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. The AGN outflow velocity is found to be lesser than the escape velocity, suggesting that the outflowing gas will rain back into the galaxy. The deep UV data have also revealed diffuse UV emission in the direction of the AGN outflow. By combining [O iii] and UV data, we found the diffuse emission to be of AGN origin. 2024. The Author(s). <text>Differential access and utilisation of healthcare services are caused by multiple Social Determinants of Health (SDHs), which requires adequate and informed policy intervention. The mass media, mainly the news media, have been seen as a practical approach in communicating the health anomalies at the policy level. The comprehensive coverage of factors associated with the healthcare system can further lead to addressing inequalities in health. The study was aimed to identify the factors that act against effective reporting of healthcare news from peripheral regions of India. The qualitative method was employed to examine media professionals' persistent challenges and experiences in covering health-related disparities. Sixteen media professionals were interviewed during October 2019 employed in vernacular news agencies all across the north-eastern state of Assam, India. Three themes have emerged from the analysis covering health-related news and barriers to healthcare in the peripheral region and identifying health-related disparities. It is found that an effective reporting mechanism of the health news will positively influence the policymakers and undertake efforts to address the health-related disparities. <text>Varied news themes are always in demand. What better platform than Bangalore Times which does not have a specific pattern of news themes yet caters to all the requirements of todays generation. The main newspaper is the most popular one, but today many supplements are catching up with the popularity of their main newspapers. One of the classic examples of such a supplement is the Bangalore Times. On close observation, one will notice that many people actually pick up this supplement and browse through it even before the main paper. It is very interesting to find out why this is so.

Audiences have varied requirements and The Times of India caters to exactly this. It makes a good topic of study to find out whether Bangalore Times can actually be considered a parallel publication or not. Not enough research has been done in this area and many people are still not aware of this sector of the print industry yet.

This study aims at a better understanding of the nuances of Print journalism and how exactly is its popularity determined. This study will also help understand audience choices, readership and how different people respond to print journalism.

<text>Human beings react to their perception, often thinking it is reality. The present study examines perceptions of employees on ethical leadership and its consequences on CSR effectiveness. This study showcases a few ethical behaviours of the leaders that positively persuade their employees to see organisational CSR effectiveness. The study is conducted in the Indian manufacturing sector by capturing the data from 285 employees of the 61 companies that responded. The study comes with significant practical and research implications. The analysis used statistical methods such as exploratory factor analysis and structural equation model (SEM) to test the hypothesis. The study showed that it is essential to hold a positive employer branding via CSR. Practically, this study informs you of the need of the leader to maintain a positive perception among the employees. Research-wise, the study extends the literature on CSR by linking it with employees' ethical leadership perception. Copyright 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.</text>

<text>One important response to COVID-19 was the intensification of the use of digital media to deliver education. However, the results are paradoxical, since the digital revolution did not lead to improvement of the social quality of teachers working circumstances. We ana-lyze internal or subjective oriented constitutional and external or objective orientated conditional factors related to teachers that determine the adaptation of digitalization, taking a social quality perspective. Through a case study in the most advanced educational hub of IndiaDelhiwe find that the digital revolution helped India to address the first-order problems in digital transformation, namely concerning objective infrastructural facilities. The second-order problems, particularly changing the subjective belief structures of teachers related to the integration of technologies, appear to remain a challenge. As India has recently adopted a new education policy (2020), the findings of our study have significant relevance to improving the accessibility and utilization of digital technology in educational spaces. <text>Globalisation led to the increase in technology and development of multinational companies in

the developing countries. This development has caused the increased need for working round the

clock and the only option for such a need is different shifts in the companies. Nightshift workers

are increasing day by day, but many times, people forget the health and sleep effects caused by

the nightshift. One such impact is the altered circadian rhythm, which is very important for

proper functioning of the body and a good sleep. Freud put forward that dreams occurring during

sleep serve as the guardian of sleep. Dreams are the reflections of the waking life. This altered

circadian rhythm can have an impact on waking and sleep life of the nightshift workers. This

qualitative study is to find the dream pattern among the nightshift workers and to find the

frequency in dreaming among this group. This study is conducted with nine nightshift and nine

dayshift workers, dream journal was used to collect the dreams from the participants. Also, semistructured

interview was done among the nightshift workers for in-depth understanding on their

sleep habits and dream pattern. The dream patterns among both the groups are similar but there

are dreams that make the nightshift group different from the dayshift. The frequency of dreaming

is seen more among the nightshift workers. The study shows that sexual dreams are seen majorly

among the nightshift group. This finding can be further used to conduct researches on the impact

of nightshift on the sexual health and overall well being of nightshift workers and the reflection

of the same in their dreams.</text>

<text>Financial well-being is a multifaceted concept that is influenced by various factors, including individual and relational dynamics. While households are indeed vital to understanding economic dynamics, they often do not provide sufficient insight into the complex decision-making processes of romantic partners. In light of this, the chapter places its focus squarely on romantic partners as the primary unit of analysis within households, considering romantic partners to be the building blocks of the households. This chapter seeks to address a critical aspect of financial well-being by focusing on the complex dynamics of financial behaviors within romantic partnerships. By delving into the unique challenges and opportunities faced by couples in managing their finances, this chapter strives to bridge the gap by summing the current state of our knowledge proposes a comprehensive conceptual model to elucidate the factors affecting financial behaviors and, consequently, financial well-being among romantic partners. 2024, IGI Global. <text>Purpose: This study aims at stirring up the existing research conducted in the field of creative economy (CE) and also in the context of Industry 5.0. CE encompasses all the creative industries/businesses which form a major part of the knowledge-based economy. The functionalities of these setups, their global trends and developments are to be assessed for a better understanding of its present circumstances and its prospective opportunities by augmenting Industry 5.0 and its core principles. This provides a comprehensive illustration to enhance the economic, social, creative and sustainable performances of the creative industry. In addition, the study also seeks to identify the dynamics of creative units and how it could highly contribute to the glorification of the creative and cultural history in the Indian economic backdrop. Design/methodology/approach: The study adopts a systematic literature review process to fulfill the research objective. Four critical databases in Scopus such as Emerald Insight, Springer Link, Sage Publications and Taylor and Francis have been chosen for the review process. Following the critical literature review process, the chosen articles from each database have been retrieved for an exhaustive analysis within a time frame of 20132023 to evaluate the research evolution on the subject area. Findings: The paper identified various research dimensions and perspectives of the researchers in the area of study. This gives a platform to extensively evaluate the capabilities and functionalities of the sector for strategy building and enhancing returns from the sector. Research limitations/implications: As the methodology was restricted to top 5 articles from 5 important databases, the study was limited to only those articles and the other open-access peer-reviewed articles/journals/databases have not been considered which is a major limitation. Alongside, as the time frame was restricted for a period of 10years and only English language papers were chosen, prior study has not been considered, which is also a key limitation to the study. Practical implications: Policymakers, i.e. government and institutions, can understand the existence and contribution of the CE in different geographical regions for a specified period of time. This helps them understand the new revolution, Industry 5.0, and how they could merge their concepts to bring innovations in the sector and support in building sustainable cities in the emerging economies. Originality/value: As the paper works on bringing out the viewpoints of multiple authors and research works, it is considered to be a novel study as none of the previous studies, especially systematic literature review works, have been done only in high-quality journals of Scopus database. Therefore, the study holds high-quality information which can be significantly used by creative business units. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited.</text>

<text>We examine herding behavior before, during, and after the Covid-19 pandemic in eight prominent Asian stock markets. Daily stock returns for the period Jan- 2018 to July- 2022 in the markets were investigated using the models prescribed by Chang et al., (2000) and Chiang and Zheng (2010). The empirical results provide strong support to earlier studies by providing robust evidence of herding in Vietnam, Indonesia, India, South Korea, and Singapore when the market is bullish and Indonesia and Vietnam also exhibit herding when the market is bearish. Herding tendency is dominant for Vietnam, India, and Indonesia during the pandemic with the post-pandemic time being more potent for China and Vietnam. Notably, an anti-herding tendency is found in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. As a policy measure, efficient information dissemination, deterrence of insider trading, and regulation of mispricing can be undertaken. 2022</text>

<text>This study investigated the effectiveness of an eight-week mindfulness-based intervention program on the trait mindfulness, psychological well-being and emotion regulation of college-going students. The experimental group participants were college-going students (N = 40) who enrolled for the intervention, and the participants in the control group (N = 40) were interested in the intervention and considered as a wait-list control group. The experimental group underwent mindfulness-based interventions, which included 1112 sessions, including brief exercises and meditations related to their trait mindfulness, emotion regulation, and psychological well-being. They received 23h of training per week for eight weeks. Repeated Measures of ANOVA together with an independent sample t-test were used to evaluate the effectiveness of this intervention programme. Further, Cohens d was used to calculate the effect size to explain the variance caused by the intervention program in trait mindfulness, emotion regulation, and psychological well-being. The results indicated that students significantly improved in their trait mindfulness, emotion regulation, and psychological well-being after receiving mindfulness training. In conclusion, the application of this eight-week mindfulness-based intervention sheds light on the common psychological issues confronted by college students in India, presenting itself as an advantageous tool for the professionals working in this field and offering positive effects on the overall well-being of college students. <text>Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have received a lot of interest for their several applications, including their remarkable potential as photocatalysts for organic dye degradation. This research thoroughly investigates the efficacy of ecologically friendly, green-synthesized AgNPs in the treatment of synthetic dye-contaminated wastewater. The synthesis of AgNPs from various biological substrates is investigated, emphasizing their economic viability, significant conductivity, and considerable biocompatibility. The improper disposal of synthetic dyes in wastewater poses severe environmental and health risks due to their non-biodegradable nature and persistent chemical features. In response to this challenge, this review paper investigates the capability of AgNPs to serve as effective photocatalysts for degrading a range of organic dyes commonly found in industrial effluents. Specific dyes, including methyl orange, congo red, nitrophenol, methylene blue, and malachite green, are studied in the context of wastewater treatment, providing insights into the efficacy of AgNPs synthesized from diverse biological sources. The review sheds light on the photocatalytic degradation methods used by green-synthesized AgNPs, shedding light on the transition of these synthetic dyes into less hazardous compounds. It also delves into the toxicity aspect of the AgNPs and its possible remediation from the environment. The ecologically friendly synthesis procedures investigated in this work provide an alternative to traditional methods, highlighting the importance of sustainable technologies in solving modern environmental concerns. Furthermore, a comparative examination of various biological substrates for AgNPs synthesis is presented, evaluating their respective dye degradation efficiencies. This not only helps researchers understand the environmental impact of synthetic dyes, but it also directs them in choosing the best substrates for the production of AgNPs with enhanced photocatalytic activities. 2024 The Author(s). <text>Neuromarketing is an interdisciplinary field consolidating neuroscience, psychology, and marketing, aiming to understand consumer behaviour at the subconscious level. However, as neuromarketing techniques become increasingly sophisticated, ethical issues and considerations have emerged as a focal point of debate and scrutiny. The paper critically evaluates foundational ethical principles, such as informed consent, beneficence and nonmaleficence, privacy and confidentiality, transparency, scientific or methodological rigor, predicting and influencing consumer choices, safeguarding the vulnerable population, and commitment to abiding and respecting the guidelines and codes of ethics. It also includes the emerging techniques and research, need for ethics and terms like neuroethics and brain privacy. 2024, IGI Global. All rights reserved.</text>
