                <text>The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has considerably promoted the usage of Digital Financial Services (DFS) in India. Therefore, exploring the various determinants influencing the DFS users is crucial for the DFS providers to understand their customers better. This study aims to identify, measure, and validate the determinants of Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) from the Indian adults who use Digital Financial Services. A sample of 384 adult DFS users from India was surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire in 2021. A multidimensional scale was developed to measure the Digital Financial Literacy in this study. The results exhibit that Digital Knowledge, Financial Knowledge, Knowledge of DFS, Awareness of Digital Finance Risk, Digital Finance Risk Control, Knowledge of Customer Right, Product Suitability, Product Quality, Gendered Social Norm, Practical Application of Knowledge and Skill, Self-determination to use the Knowledge and Skill and Decision Making are the determinants of DFL among the adults in India. Further, the users of DFS without DFL will face numerous challenges such as inability to com-plete the transaction, financial loss and privacy breach, etc. Hence, the study concludes that DFL is prerequisite to use DFS effectively.  2022 The Author(s).                 <text>Mobile and internet banking have introduced a new way of monetary transactions without the need for physical presence. This research proposes to analyze the sentiments of people regarding digital transactions, mobile, and internet banking. The explosion of internet usage and the huge funding initiatives in electronic banking have drawn the attention of researchers towards internet and mobile banking. This study focuses on customer value perceptions of the internet and mobile banking in India. The recent and forecasted Digital India scheme shows high growth in e-banking in India. The demographic, attitudinal, and behavioral characteristics of mobile bank users were examined. In this study, datasets obtained from Twitter were used. After extensive and repeated analysis, it is found that both mobile and internet banking are well received; the number of positive tweets, especially regarding mobile banking, is much higher than that of internet banking. This leads to the interpretation that people find mobile banking easier and safer, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  2022 Information Resources Management Association.                 <text>Owing to the importance of a subject like mathematics in the teaching and learning of science, self-learning often poses a challenge to the educator. The objective of this study is to analyse the enhancement of the textual and the media form of self-learning modules to teach algebra and geometry to eighth graders considering their retention levels. A pre-Test post-Test single-group quasi experimental design was tested and tried out on 49 participants of a school. The 20 modules of self-learning material covering content in the topics of algebra and geometry in the textual and media-Assisted forms of self-learning were administered over three months. The findings of the study revealed the ability of media-Assisted self-learning modules to enhance achievement in the post-Test when compared to the pre-Test. The textual-Assisted learning modules were able to enhance significant difference in the achievements in geometry, but not of algebra.                 <text>The unprecedented measures to control the spread of COVID-19 have affected both students and parents as education institutions have almost overnight shifted to virtual platforms. This study explores the effectiveness of online classes on primary school children s performance and investigates online classes impact on children s behaviour and holistic development. It explores the impact of online classes on parents workload by adopting a sequential research method. The data were collected using Google form and telephonic interviews with randomly selected parent respondents. Results exhibit that online classes are ineffective, and there is an indicative change in children s behaviour. Also, the lack of social interaction with peers and teachers, and minimal physical activities, have made online sessions monotonous for children. Parents have been experiencing an increased workload, as they are expected to be mentors, curators, and personal tutors for their children.                 <text>The present study was aimed to green synthesize of ?-Fe2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) using flower extract of Musa acuminata and examination of their antibacterial and photocatalytic activities. The synthesized NPs were investigated using UV-visible spectroscopy, which exhibited a colour change pattern, and the maximum absorption peak at 265 nm confirmed the formation of ?-Fe2O3 NPs. The FTIR analysis showed the presence of various functional groups coated over the synthesized ?-Fe2O3 NPs. The XRD pattern showed that the formation of rhombohedral structure with an average crystallite size was 21.86 nm. FESEM micrographs revealed that ?-Fe2O3 NPs were roughly spherical in shape. EDX spectrum confirmed the presence of Fe and O elements. By TEM analysis, the average particle size was calculated to be 32 nm. Using the well diffusion method, the antibacterial activity of ?-Fe2O3 NPs was tested against both gram positive and negative bacterial strains of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E. coli). The NPs exhibited good antibacterial activity against the tested bacteria. Finally, the synthesized ?-Fe2O3 NPs demonstrated the photocatalytic degradation of Crystal Violet (CV) dye under sunlight. The efficiency of degradation within 150 min was determined to be 90.27% for CV. This effective removal method under sunlight may support a cost-effective method for degradation of CV dyes from wastewater. Copyright T Indhumathi, N Krishnamoorthy, R.                 <text>The study attempts to identify what is effective online teaching from teacher and student perspectives. What are the challenges faced by teachers which hampered effective online teaching? The study employed mixed method research design including a survey questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The study collected data from 500 students out of which 200 are boys and 300 are girls on effective online teaching. The study conducted semi-structured interview with eight college teachers through snowball sampling. The survey revealed that almost 80% of the teachers are not effective. Girls are less satisfied with online teaching transition of teachers than boys are. Similarly, postgraduates (PG) are not as satisfied as undergraduate (UG) students are. Interview data revealed themes and subthemes on challenges of effective online teaching faced by college teachers. The Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey (CNNS), 2016-18 dataset is used to identify the predictor and outcome variable for the study. Binary logistic regression established the adolescents age and sex, mothers schooling, wealth index, and the region as a significant predictor for GHP. The study revealed that gender, age, caste, education, individual household wealth, and the region has a significant association with adolescent hand-washing practices, where economic conditions drive the individual practice of handwashing more than the behavioural aspect. It requires government intervention to improve sanitation and water facilities to accelerate hand-washing among adolescents in India.  2022 Tata Institute of Social Sciences.                 <text>In this paper, we investigate (a) what are the factors that affect the mispricing in benchmark and sectoral indices; (b) the role of economic policy uncertainty (EPU) on the mispricing in future indices; and (c) is there any relationship between the magnitude of mispricing in future indices and the number of factors affecting it. The study deploys regression analysis on the 6930 observations during the period of 2009-2019 for three major indices i.e., Nifty, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT respectively. The study reports that (a) time to maturity and lag of mispricing affect all three indices positively whereas open interest affects Nifty Bank and Nifty IT negatively and spot volume affects only Nifty IT positively; (b) EPU affects positively to all three indices, reflecting that uncertainty increases the mispricing in the stock market; (c) magnitude of the mispricing is directly related to the number of factors affecting that mispricing. The present study examines perceptions of employees on ethical leadership and its consequences on CSR effectiveness. This study showcases a few ethical behaviours of the leaders that positively persuade their employees to see organisational CSR effectiveness. The study is conducted in the Indian manufacturing sector by capturing the data from 285 employees of the 61 companies that responded. The study comes with significant practical and research implications. The analysis used statistical methods such as exploratory factor analysis and structural equation model (SEM) to test the hypothesis. The study showed that it is essential to hold a positive employer branding via CSR. Practically, this study informs you of the need of the leader to maintain a positive perception among the employees.                 <text>The morbidity and mortality rates associated with breast cancer are a major public health concern globally. The resulting impairment in the patients quality of life (QOL) affects their health, symptoms, and well-being in physical, social, psychological, environmental, and sexual functioning. The aim of this study was to systematically review the literature addressing the determinants of QOL in breast cancer patients. A search of 6 electronic medical databases was undertaken. Employing a rigorous systematic protocol, eligible articles were analyzed and a total of 22 studies that met all eligibility criteria were included in the systematic review. The total sample size was 7,041 women ranging from 30 to 66 years. The determinants of QOL were found to cluster into 10 areas. These include the degree of pain, type and stage of cancer treatment, medical health, cognitive and behavioural factors, emotional health, physical activity and appearance, social factors, age and menopausal status, education and employment status, and ethnicity and religion. The types of breast cancer treatment and psychological parameters were the most common determinants of QOL in breast cancer patients. These insights can help formulate proactive interventions that can be used by patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to build protective capacities and alleviate challenges to ensure superior quality of life in women with breast cancer.  2022,Journal of International Women''s Studies. The proposed work aims at enhancement of location privacy data security in service location protocol of VANET'S. The primary techniques to be employed include artificial intelligence-based RF range approximation for transmission range adjustment and receive RF strength based distance estimation for trusted node location perimeters approximation, dynamic adjustment of silence period of OBU (on based unit) in conjunction with radio/RF interrupt.                 <text>The livelihood risks tend to change households capital, assets, or resources by impacting the value of their asset portfolio. This study attempts to understand various risks and how these risks affect the farming communitys livelihoods in the designated areas. Also, this research attempts to understand the relationships between risks and livelihood capital to develop effective measures to improve their well-being and suggest various policies to help farmers cope with these risks in the most effective ways. The study used a sample of 827 farmers from Andhra Pradesh, India.                 <text>Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) cause more deaths worldwide than most of the other diseases. The diagnosis of cardiovascular disease from Magnetic Resonance Imaging plays a major role in the medical field. The technological revolution contributed a lot to increase the effectiveness of CVD diagnosis. Many Artificial Intelligence methods using Deep Learning models are available to assist the cardiologist in the diagnosis of CVD from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). In this study, we leverage on the merits of deep learning, transfer learning, and ensemble voting to improve the accuracy of Artificial Intelligence-based CVD detection. VGG16, MobileNetV2, and InceptionV3, trained on ImageNet, are the models used and the dataset is the Automatic Cardiac Diagnosis Challenge dataset. We customized the classification layers of all three models to suit the CVD detection problem. The results from these models are ensembled using the soft-voting and hard-voting approaches. Test accuracies obtained are 97.94% and 98.08% from hard-voting and soft-voting respectively. The experimental results demonstrated that the ensemble of outputs from transfer learning-based Deep Learning models produces much improved results for CVD diagnosis from MRI images.  2022 Sibu Cyriac, Sivakumar R. and Nidhin Raju.                 <text>The conventional cultural construct of gender and sexuality embedded in the dichotomous paradigm makes it challenging for people with queer and trans identities to fit into an assigned social role. Violent gendering takes place where women are seen as secondorder beings, disciplined and controlled by men, the first-order beings. The process of feminization and femininity is linked to women, which fixates on the idea that one is born a woman rather than one becomes a woman. This violent process of acculturation to these set norms comes with a lot of vulnerability for trans people in the form of abiding by the parameters of femininity and the threat of physical violence against their intersecting and transitioning bodies. Kristevas conception of abjection can be used to understand the discriminatory behavior against outcasts whose sexual or gender practices fall outside of the normative standards and conventions. At the same time, cultural violence, which Charlotte Bunch (2015) describes, is the culturally embedded practice and assumption of domination over women in virtually all societies. She also emphasizes that there is a need to understand that all violence against women is supported by cultural attitudes, which she argues is the real cultural challenge of violence. Keeping in perspective the idea put forth by Bunch, this article critically examines the violence reinforced by culture, and the process of gendering, with a central focus on the intersectional experiences of trans bodies as abject between gender, sex, and culture. This leads to the systematic violence enacted upon them by the invisible disciplinarians. The article considers 21st-century trans womens narratives, Laxmi Narayan Tripathis Me Hijra, Me Laxmi (2015) and Red Lipstick: The Men in my Life (2016).                 <text>Churn prediction is an active topic for research and machine learning approaches have made significant contributions in this domain. Models built to address customer churn, aim to identify customers who are at a high risk of terminating services offered by a company. Hence, an effective machine learning model indirectly contributes to the revenue growth of an organization, by identifying at risk customers, well in advance. This improves the success rate of retention campaigns and reduces costs associated with churn. The aim of this study is to explore the state-of-the-art machine learning techniques used in churn prediction. A systematic literature review, that is driven by 5 research questions and rigorous quality assessment criteria, is presented. There are 38 primary studies that are selected out of 420 studies published between 2018 and 2021. The review identifies popular machine learning techniques used in churn prediction and provides directions for future research. Firstly, the study finds that churn models lack generalization capability across industry domains. Hence, it identifies a need for researchers to explore techniques that extend beyond model experimentation, to improve efficiency of classifiers across domains. Secondly, it is observed that the traditional approaches to churn prediction depend significantly on demographic, product-usage, and revenue features alone. However, recent papers have integrated social network analysis-related features in churn models and achieved satisfactory results. Furthermore, there is a lack of scientific work that utilizes information-rich content of customer-company-interaction instances via email, chat conversations and other means. This area is the least explored. Thirdly, there is scope to investigate the effect of hybrid sampling strategies on model performance. This has not been extensively evaluated in literature. Lastly, there is no formal guideline on correct evaluation parameters to be used for models applied on imbalanced churn datasets. Deep learning models for NLP help make human life easier as computers can think, talk, and interact like humans. Applications of the NLP models can be seen in many domains, especially in machine translation and psychology.                 <text>Learning outcomes: The learning outcomes of this study are as follows:1. Analyze the pricing strategy followed by Netflix in India;2. Examine the challenges faced by media companies, including over-the-top (OTT) service providers, in developing content for target consumers in emerging markets; and3. Evaluate the dynamics of the Indian OTT industry and understand the effect of external and internal factors on the growth of Netflix in India. Case overview/synopsis: This case discusses the dilemma faced by Netflix in India regarding pricing and content. Netflix was accused of hurting the religious and political sentiments of Indians by broadcasting bold shows such as Sacred Games and A Suitable Boy. Netflix is caught in a dilemma between its pursuit to achieve its target of achieving 100 million subscribers from India versus continuing its profitable high pricing strategy. Another key dilemma is regarding the streaming of attractive bold content which may occasionally hurt the religious/political sentiments of some Indians or stream only safe content which may be deemed as boring by its young target audience.
