<text>Plant diseases are one of the major factors affecting crop yield. Early identification of these diseases can improve productivity and save money and time for the farmer. This paper presents a novel technique to diagnose plant diseases using a mobile application. A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model was built and trained using MobileNetV2 architecture with the help of image processing techniques and transfer learning. A dataset comprising 87,000 images that contain 38 classes of diseases belonging to 14 different crops was used to train the model. The model achieved an accuracy of 98.69% and a loss of 0.5373. A mobile application was built in Android Studio with the help of a trained model. The mobile application built works without a need for a remote server. The application can identify the disease, gives information regarding the identified disease and also suggests necessary remedies to tackle the disease. 2021, Engg Journals Publications. <text>Face recognition and validation is not an easy task due to barriers in between like variation in pose, facial expressions and illumination. There are many algorithms available to build a face recognition system. One such popular method of approach is the Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG). It is a simple but effective algorithm. Even though it gives satisfactory results, it sometimes mismatches query image with irrelevant images, especially in poor lighting conditions. This paper presents a more accurate technique called Fisherfaces. It is a more reliable method for face recognition and validation. Fisherface algorithm is utilized primarily for reducing the dimensionality of the feature space. Fisherface method for image recognition involves a series of steps. Firstly, the face space dimension is reduced using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method, then the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) method is used for feature extraction. Fisherface method produced good results even under complex situations like varying illumination conditions and images with different poses and expressions which is a major drawback of HOG. Fisherface algorithm can reach a maximum accuracy of 96.87%. Error Correcting Output Code (ECOC) is the classifier used for both HOG and Fisherfaces. 2021 IEEE.</text>

<text>This study investigates the correlation between accounting variables and stock prices in India from 2011 to 2022, emphasizing the impact of the Convergence of Ind AS with IFRS. Specifically, it explores how this convergence influences the value relevance of accounting data using the Ohlson Model. Beyond established vari-ables like Earnings per Share (EPS) and Book Value (BPS), the analysis introduces additional factors such as Dividend per Share (DPS) and Research and Development (R&D). Employing Ohlsons Pricing Model (1995), the research assesses the rela-tionship between these accounting variables and stock prices for 47 consistently listed firms in the NIFTY 500 index. Results show that DPS and R&D enhance the value relevance of the Ohlson Model, with the adjusted upper R squaredupper R squared increasing from 0.2 in 2011 to 0.6 in 2022. While overall value relevance improves after Ind AS convergence, BPS remains consistent when controlling for EPS. The Author(s).</text>

<text>Internal heat modulation has several applications in nuclear reactor design and safety, as well as meteorology. In this paper, the influence of internal heat modulation on RayleighBard convection in a BoussinesqStokes ferromagnetic fluid is explored using linear and nonlinear analyses. The impact of the square, sine, triangular, and sawtooth wave type of internal heat modulation on the onset of convection and heat transport is considered. Using a Venezian method, linear stability analysis is performed to derive the correction Rayleigh number and the critical Rayleigh number for all four waveforms. A nonautonomous Lorenz model is derived and solved for the amplitude to obtain the Nusselt number, which quantifies the heat transport. The impact of the nondimensional parameter on the convective onset and heat transfer under heat source/sink modulation is analyzed. The study shows that all four types of internal heat modulation destabilize the system. It is also found that the presence of a heat source/sink modulation affects the impact of all four types of internal heat modulation on heat transport. 2022 Wiley Periodicals LLC.</text>

The expression for the critical Rayleigh number and the correction Rayleigh number is deduced from the three-mode linearized Lorenz model using the Venezian approach. The effect of rotation modulation on heat transport is studied using the generalized fifth-order Lorenz model. The study reveals that the Taylor number stabilizes the no-modulation system and decreases the heat transport, and this situation remains so in the presence of rotation modulation. It is found that the effect of all four types of modulation is to stabilize the system and diminish heat transport. It is also observed that the sawtooth wave type of modulation has the least diminishing effect on heat transport and the square wave type of modulation diminishes the most. 2021 Wiley Periodicals LLC</text>

<text>The effects of sinusoidal (sine wave) and non-sinusoidal (square wave, triangular wave, and sawtooth wave) forms of gravity modulation on Rayleigh-Bard Convection (RBC) in a ferromagnetic liquid and a nanoliquid with couple stress is examined using linear and non-linear stability analyses. From the linear analysis, the stability of the system is investigated by calculating the correction Rayleigh number using the Venezian method. The heat transfer coefficient is obtained by solving the non-autonomous Lorenz equation. The influence of various non-dimensional parameters on the onset of convection and heat transfer is analyzed. It is observed that the couple stress parameter stabilizes the system and decreases the heat transfer. It is found that the square type of gravity modulation facilitates more heat transport compared to other types of gravity modulation. The ferromagnetic parameters are shown to have their known influence on the onset of convection and heat transport. The results of the single-phase ferromagnetic nanoliquid with couple stress are extracted from the results of the ferromagnetic liquid with couple stress. Advancement of onset due to nanoparticle presence and thereby enhanced heat transfer is discussed. The higher concentration of alumina is shown to be preferable to the rather expensive copper nanoparticles in obtaining the same quantity of heat transfer. 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to EDP Sciences, SocietItaliana di Fisica and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.</text>

<text>Using the model of E- Leadership in Virtual teams (Avolio et al.), this paper examines impact of Psychological Contract, mediated by E-leadership, on Real-time Performance Management of Remotely working professionals. Following a quantitative research method, data was collected from 57 remotely working professional across the world. Significant positive relationships were found among Leadership Effectiveness of E-leaders, Relational Psychological Contract and Efficiency of RPM. The results confirm the interaction of the given variables in Avolio's Model of E-leadership, highlighting technological aspects of human interactions and ways to optimise them. The results underline several important managerial implications for effective leadership, fulfilling psychological contract and effective performance management, of a type of workforce that is only virtually available. 2019 SCMS Group of Educational Institutions. <text>With the increasing pollution in todays world, importance is being given to solve a problem and do it in a sustainable, eco-friendly manner. Arsenic is a class-1 carcinogen and also causes many other side effects to humans, plants and animals. The utilization of arsenic as wood preservatives, pesticides, or its historical overuse by some military units for rice killing operations has led to the increase in the toxic effects of arsenic like its carcinogenicity, decreased immune response etc. Although conventional methods like coagulation, lime softening, adsorption, membrane technology are effective, they have their disadvantages like additional waste generation, causing increased pollution and are expensive. The better alternative is phytoremediation. Appropriate plants like Brassica juncea, Hydrilla verticilata, Pteris vittata L., Vallisneria natans, can be chosen based on the method of the remediation like phytoextraction, phytostabilization and phytofiltration or phytovoltalization. This review provides the list of a few plants which can be likely chosen for the purpose of both water and soil remediation. Advancements are occurring in bioremediation studies with the development of transgenic plants like transgenic tobacco, transgenic Arabidopsis thali-ana for better phytoremediation. Understanding the mechanism employed by the plant for its uptake/detoxification can aid in the enhancement of the process of remediation with the external supply of phosphorus. Along with this, the proper and safe disposal of plants is crucial for the remediation process. In addition, awareness of this solution to the general public is to be made for its effectiveness. : Author (s). Publishing rights @ ANSF.</text>

<text>Biodegradable polymers have emerged as fascinating materials due to their non-toxicity, environmentally benign nature and good mechanical strength. The toxic effects of non-biodegradable plastics paved way for the development of sustainable and biodegradable polymers. The engineering of biodegradable polymers employing various strategies like radical ring opening polymerization, enzymatic ring opening polymerization, anionic ring opening polymerization, photo-initiated radical polymerization, chemoenzymatic method, enzymatic polymerization, ring opening polymerization and coordinative ring opening polymerization have been discussed in this review. The application of biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles in the biomedical field and cosmetic industry is considered to be an emerging field of interest. However, this review mainly highlights the applications of selected biodegradable polymers like polylactic acid, poly(?-caprolactone), polyethylene glycol, polyhydroxyalkanoates, poly(lactide-co-glycolide) and polytrimethyl carbonate in various fields like agriculture, biomedical, biosensing, food packaging, automobiles, wastewater treatment, textile and hygiene, cosmetics and electronic devices. 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.</text>

<text>In this chapter, an initial exploration of the definition and symptoms of neurodegenerative disorders will be conducted along with an in-depth analysis of their underlying neurobiological basis, shedding light on their manifestation in the brain. The central focus will then shift towards comprehending and addressing the specific social cognitive deficits associated with different types of NDs and examining the challenges posed in the realm of social cognition. Strategies and interventions specifically designed for social cognitive rehabilitation will be investigated. The chapter will encompass a discussion on the caregiver burden and effective coping strategies to alleviate the stresses faced. The primary objective of this chapter is to provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate nature of social cognitive deficits in neurodegenerative disorders and equip them with practical tools aimed at enhancing social cognition and improving the quality of life for individuals affected by these complex conditions. 2024, IGI Global.</text>

Biodegradable polymers have emerged as fascinating materials due to their non-toxicity, environmentally benign nature and good mechanical strength. The toxic effects of non-biodegradable plastics paved way for the development of sustainable and biodegradable polymers. The engineering of biodegradable polymers employing various strategies like radical ring opening polymerization, enzymatic ring opening polymerization, anionic ring opening polymerization, photo-initiated radical polymerization, chemoenzymatic method, enzymatic polymerization, ring opening polymerization and coordinative ring opening polymerization have been discussed in this review.</text>

<text>Personal qualities and employability competencies influence how an individual interacts with others. Employers value employability skills because they are linked to how employees get along with co-workers and customers, job performance, and career success of the employee. Hence personal qualities and employability competencies are considered as one of the essential components for an individuals career development. This study aims to understand the perceptual gap among the corporate world, business school academics and business school students. This study is quantitative in nature and primary data was collected through survey method. The primary data was collected from 377 Master of Business Administration (MBA) students, 276 Business School faculties and 98 managers representing 100 different companies in Bangalore, India. Three different questionnaires were prepared for three groups. All three sets of respondents were asked to rate their perception towards the requirement of personal qualities and skill/competencies required at the workplace in an entry-level job. The study highlights that there is a significant difference in the perception of students, business school faculty and managers towards listed personal qualities and competencies. These perceptual differences result in different types of costs to the company in terms of time, money and energy. The results will help the business schools to develop an innovative business curriculum that can fill the current industry needs. 2019, University of Malaya. All rights reserved.</text>

<text>While several educational institutions in India, in accordance to global practices, have adopted Web-Based Learning Management Systems (WLMS) to supplement classroom courses, it is largely seen that these WLMSs fail in their objectives, leading to little or no return on investments. The study aims to define the factors that affect students acceptance of a web-based learning management system and test the moderating effect of their academic involvement in the success of a WLMS. 477 valid questionnaires were collected from university/college students to empirically test the research model using the structural equation modelling approach. The results concludes that indirect and direct effects account for 49% of the variation in the intention to use, which is explained by technical system quality, information quality, educational quality, service quality of the technical support team and user satisfaction. High academic involvement moderates the impact of different service qualities of the WLMS on user satisfaction, intention to use the system, and success of the WLMS. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications are discussed. 2021</text>

<text>Purpose: This study aimed to develop scales to assess perceptions of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) self-protective measures (SPMs) and examine the psychometric properties based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Design/methodology/approach: A total of 412 participants from Bangalore, India, randomly volunteered to participate in this research. The questionnaire consisted of items related to the TPB scales and demographic details. Findings: A structural equation model showed a reasonable model fit. In total, 70% of the individuals' behavioral intentions of following COVID-19 SPMs were predicted by perceived benefits, barriers, social norms and social influence. Participants' age impacted on perceived benefits and perceived social influence and individuals' behavioral intentions of following COVID-19 SPMs, with a 13.6% difference in model prediction. Originality/value: The TPB can be used as a strong psychometric property to assess behavioral determinants of COVID-19 SPMs. 2021, Sangeeta Mehrolia, Subburaj Alagarsamy and Jeevananda S.</text>

<text>AI-powered chatbots have become game-changers for the financial industry. They enable banks to boost customer engagement and improve operational efficiency by lowering the traditional cost of customer support. This study analyses the impact of perceived service quality dimensions on user confirmation, satisfaction and use continuance. The present study also analyses the moderating effect of perceived risk on the relationship between user confirmation, satisfaction and chatbots use continuance. A total of 447 customers, all residing in the Indian city of Bengaluru and having recently used banking chatbot services, were surveyed. Partial least squares structural equation modelling is used to examine the relationships between the variables used in the study. Findings from the study show that all five chatbot service quality dimensions (reliability, interactivity, assurance, responsiveness and understandability) significantly impact the users post-use confirmation, influencing their satisfaction and continuance behaviour. Perceived risk negatively moderates the relationship between user confirmation and user satisfaction. Chatbot service developers and e-service providers can leverage these findings to understand user expectations from chatbots. They will also be helpful to other service sectors, such as insurance, travel and tourism, hospitality and healthcare. 2023 Fortune Institute of International Business.</text>

<text>This study aims to empirically measure the distinctive characteristics of customers who did and did not order food through Online Food Delivery services (OFDs) during the COVID-19 outbreak in India. Data are collected from 462 OFDs customers. Binary logistic regression is used to examine the respondents characteristics, such as age, patronage frequency before the lockdown, affective and instrumental beliefs, product involvement and the perceived threat, to examine the significant differences between the two categories of OFDs customers. The binary logistic regression concludes that respondents exhibiting high-perceived threat, less product involvement, less perceived benefit on OFDs and less frequency of online food orders are less likely to order food through OFDs. This study provides specific guidelines to create crisis management strategies. 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd</text>

<text>The study investigates students perspectives on incorporating sexual health education into the curriculum of secondary schools in rural Bangalore. Focused on assessing how such education impacts students physical and psychological well-being, confidence, and ability to make informed decisions, the research collected data from 981 students across 6th to 10th grades. A structured questionnaire, measured on a five-point Likert scale, explored students perceptions of sexual health education and its outcomes. After a meticulous data cleaning process, which included outlier removal, the study utilized a final sample of 900 students. IBM SPSS 25 and AMOS 25 facilitated the statistical analysis. The findings underscore the significant positive effect of sexual health education on students confidence levels. It highlights how this form of education aids in maintaining personal hygiene and fosters balanced decision-making skills among students. The studys results advocate for the implementation of sexual health education in schools, emphasizing its role in enhancing student wellbeing and confidence. Additionally, it contributes to defining the scope and framework of a sexual health education curriculum from the students perspective in rural Bangalore schools, aligning educational objectives with the actual needs and perceptions of the student body. 2023 Indian Institute of Health Management Research.</text>
