The effects of COVID-19 vary from person to person. A pandemic is devastating economically and socially. Thousands of enterprises face the possibility of collapse. More than half of the world's 3.3 billion workers may lose their livelihoods if the current crisis continues. The world's healthcare services are facing an unprecedented situation due to the recent outbreak of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Community and government health are adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 has continued to spread, and mortalities have risen steadily. The spread of this disease can therefore be controlled utilizing nonpharmacological methods, such as quarantine, isolation, and public health education. Recent breakthroughs in deep learning (DL) have led to an explosion in applications and services relating to artificial intelligence (AI). The rapid advancements in mobile computing and AI have enabled zillions of Bytes of data to be generated at the network edge from thousands of mobile devices and internet of things (IoT) devices connected to the Internet. As a result of the success of IoT and AI technologies, it is of utmost importance that we expand the AI frontiers to the network edge in order for big data to be fully tapped. Edge computing (EC) can help overcome this trend because it allows computation-intensive AI applications to run on edge hardware. A vital aspect of nanoscience and nanotechnology is the synthesis of nanomaterials and nanostructures. Although nanotechnology is a relatively new field of study, nanomaterials have been used in industry for years. Synthesis of nanomaterials is an essential area due to its significant characteristics and is ideally suited for applications in a multiple discipline. Metal and metal-based nanoparticles play a major role across all disciplines, making up the majority of all nanomaterials. Among these, copper-based nanomaterials have drawn a lot of curiosity considering their varied features and wide range of uses in numerous sectors, particularly in nanotechnology for healthcare and biomedical fields. Synthesis of copper-based nanomaterials can be achieved by several approaches such as physical, chemical, biological methods. Among these approaches, synthesizing nanomaterials through biological processes is the most affordable and environmentally responsible method. Technology based scalable businesses (TSB) have made a significant impact on our lives. The landscape change driven by TSBs has forced many well-established brick-and-mortar businesses to relook at their business models. Despite the influential strides made by TSBs in altering the business landscape the business literature on them is scant. This chapter is a modest attempt to examine TSBs. Scalable businesses could be broadly described as those that can achieve a disproportionate increase in sales/revenue/profits compared to the costs incurred, primarily aided by technology. Google and Uber are examples of how new industries get created and how existing industry landscapes get changed because of technology. Interlinking of technology has offered hitherto unexperienced growth opportunities to such companies. The digital consumer is gaining importance in the current digital age and there is a need to adapt to the changing context. When discussing digital consumer protection, it's critical to gauge the degree of digital financial literacy. This study explores the mediating role of financial self-efficacy and financial confidence between digital financial literacy and digital consumer protection. The study was conducted in the Indian context, and the target population was users of digital platforms for financial activities in the age group of 20 to above 60. It was found that digital financial literacy significantly impacts digital consumer protection, financial self-efficacy, and financial confidence. However, only Financial self-efficacy and digital financial literacy impact digital consumer protection. It shows that financial self-efficacy mediates the relationship between digital financial literacy and digital consumer protection. Analysis of day-to-day weather patterns is critical and essential in daily life. Although traditional methods exist, in modern times, we have developed realistic and reliable methods to provide better insights and understanding of complex weather patterns for various surges, especially in these times of global warming. Implementing clustering and topological data analysis in this analysis has looked into a vast understanding of how regions with similar characteristics behave when weather changes occur due to heat, pressure, or wind-related phenomena. The classification model developed using Mapper analysis has produced 95.8% accuracy, concluding that weather follows a transient weather pattern due to various resources and how stagnant conditions affect transient weather patterns, causing rise in sub-clusters. Revolutionizing the financial landscape: A review on human-centric AI thinking in emerging markets

The emergence of Industry 4.0 has transformed the financial landscape by integrating unconventional technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into consumer interactions. This chapter explores the evolving paradigm of human-centric AI-thinking in the context of emerging customer interactions in making financial decisions. The review analyses the opportunities and the challenges that arise from the integration of AI tools and human-centric approaches in addressing the diverse needs and behaviours of consumers within emerging financial markets. More specifically, the review critically examines the utilization of AI-driven technologies, such as predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning algorithms, in customising the financial services to cater the emerging-market consumers. Moreover, the current study explicates how AI enables personalized customer interactions, risk assessments, and ethical decision making and financial inclusion strategies while considering the socioeconomic and cultural landscapes. The study has focussed on addressing the concerns related to data privacy, risk assessment, and transparency towards AI-powered financial solutions with ethical standards. Through an exhaustive analysis of current trends, and empirical evidence from the existing literature, this review highlights the inevitability of human-centric AI-thinking approach towards financial services decision making. It emphasizes the importance of congruent AIdriven financial solutions in the context of banking where the determinants such as empathy, financial literacy, ethical considerations, and human values plays a significant role in finding the financial services in emerging markets. This research explores the challenges and prospects and has made commendations to all the major stakeholders such as industry stakeholders, policymakers, practitioners, customers, and service providers to create a dynamic financial landscape of Industry 4.0 in AI technologies that embrace a human-centric ethos to meet the evolving needs of consumers within emerging financial ecosystems. 2024, IGI Global. In recent times, graphene quantum dots have attracted attention from both academia and industry due to their low cost, non-toxicity, abundance, inertness, stability, photoluminescence, and ease of functionalization. Graphene quantum dots are doped with heteroatoms and modified structurally with metals/metal oxides to form composites that find immense application in catalysis. Electrocatalytic water splitting is an energy efficient route for oxygen evolution, hydrogen evolution, and oxygen reduction reactions. Graphene quantum dots based composites have been extensively employed for electrocatalytic water splitting applications, with remarkable results.
