<text>Although each person faces their own share of challenges, it is their individual perception and responses to these difficulties that determine how they are affected by them. In this paper we investigate the association between gratitude and human prosperity including the underlying mechanism that helps people thrive during trying circumstances. We survey the literature, examining how gratitude enables people to prosper amidst adversity and employ a narrative style to present these unique characteristics. This review suggests that gratitude enhances coping abilities, such as meaning-focused coping and positive reframing, which foster positive emotions and augment personal resources like resilience, perseverance, and social bonds. These elements, in turn, may possibly explain the association between gratitude and human prosperity during dire circumstances. 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.</text>

<text>Gravitational Waves (GWs) provide a powerful means for cosmological distance estimation, circumventing the systematic uncertainties associated with traditional electromagnetic (EM) indicators. This work presents a model for estimating distances to binary black hole (BBH) mergers using only GW data, independent of EM counterparts or galaxy catalogs. By utilizing the intrinsic properties of the GW signal, specifically the strain amplitude and merger frequency, our model offers a computationally efficient preliminary distance estimation approach that could complements existing Bayesian parameter estimation pipelines. In this work, we examine a simplified analytical expression for the GW luminosity distance derived from General Relativity (GR), based on the leading-order quadrupole approximation. Without incorporating post-Newtonian (PN) or numerical relativity (NR) corrections, or modeling spin, eccentricity, or inclination, we test how closely this expression can reproduce distances reported by full Bayesian inference pipelines. We apply our model to 87 events from the LIGO-Virgo-Kagra (LVK) Gravitational Wave Transient Catalogues (GWTC), computing distances for these sources. Our results demonstrate consistent agreement with GWTC-reported distances, further supported by graphical comparisons that highlight the models performance across multiple events. <text>The influence of a timedependent body force on the threshold of convective instability in a magnetic fluid filled horizontal porous layer is investigated. The gravity modulation effect is treated by employing a perturbation method. The correction Rayleigh number is computedas a function of the modulation frequency, porous and magnetic parameters. It is expounded that, for small and reasonable values of the modulation frequency, gravity modulation and magnetic mechanism have opposing influence on the stability. The study further explicates that, when the gravity modulation frequency increases beyond all bounds, manifestation of the disappearance of the magnetic and porous medium effects on the stability is highly likely. <text>Effect of different boundaries on the gravity-modulated RayleighBard convection has been investigated with an emphasis on rigidfree boundaries. Small-amplitude and large-amplitude modulations are studied using the linear stability analysis. The modified Venezian approach is used to study small-amplitude modulations using different modes of perturbations and the superposition principle. The existence of subharmonic motions for the case of large-amplitude modulations was explored using the Mathieu equation arising from the linear stability analysis. Floquet theory was used together with Hills infinite determinant method to compute the critical Rayleigh number for the case of large-amplitude modulations. Weakly non-linear analysis is performed leading to the cubic StuartLandau equation from the Lorenz system. Heat transport was quantified using the Nusselt number and the mean Nusselt numbers for different amplitudes and frequencies. It was found that gravity modulation has, in general, a stabilizing effect on the convection process in all three boundary types, and the heat transport was found to be an increasing function of amplitude. Another important outcome of the study is that the critical Rayleigh number for the onset of convection for rigidfree boundaries lies between those of the corresponding values of the freefree and rigidrigid boundaries in the case of both harmonic and subharmonic motions which could be exploited in controlling convection. 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V.</text>

<text>This study presents a new method to improve the detection ability of a convolutional neural network (CNN) in pneumonia detection using chest X-ray images. Using Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) analysis, additional channels are added to the original image data provided by Guangzhou Children's Hospital in Guangzhou, China. The main goal is to design a lightweight, fully convolution network and increase its available information using GLCM. Performance analysis is performed on the new CNN model and GLCM-enhanced CNN model, and results are compared with Transfer Learning approaches. Various evaluation metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and AUC-ROC, are used to evaluate the improved analysis performance of CNN. The results showed a significant increase in the ability of the model to detect pneumonia, with an accuracy of 99.57%. In addition, the study evaluates the descriptive properties of the CNN model by analyzing its decision process using Grad-CAM. 2024, J.J. <text>Green Accounting is an important device for understanding the role of business ventures in the economy towards environmental security and welfare. It is a well-known term for environment and natural resources accounting. Many companies all over the world have initiated the practices of making environmental disclosures in their annual reports. However, these practices are still largely voluntary in nature. The objective of this research paper is to study the environment-related disclosures of companies taken from Nifty 50 based on the summary of Global Reporting Standards. Content Analysis, both sector-wise and keyword-wise is used on the annual reports of 29 sample companies using MAXQDA software. A high count of the formulated keywords is observed in some relevant sectors of Energy, Cement and Metals. 2022 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.</text>

<text>The present study is based on developing a Green and Sustainable software because in the present-day computing devices are used for all kinds of purposes and they consume a lot of energy to perform these services. The ICT sector itself consumes a lot of energy so there is a need to think of alternatives that can reduce the level of energy consumption, thus, green ICT practice can be a good option. There is, however, a scarcity of researches that explains how the maintenance of green knowledge in ICT software development may be implemented. Since we recognize that software development process (SDL) plays an essential role in enabling the ICT community, uncontrolled green knowledge in developing software that would lead to the dilemma of failing to satisfy both the community's business and environmental requirements. Therefore, this research will concentrate on presenting a methodology applying an innovative model for managing the green software development and implementation. Keeping this concern in mind the present paper is going to provide a Green and Sustainable software model which can be used in green ICT practices and will be helpful in reducing the energy consumption used by computers. 2021 IEEE.</text>

Methodology The quantitative study used structural equation modeling and Hayes PROCESS macro to analyze a survey sample of 512 Gen Z consumers. Findings The key findings indicate that attitude, SN, PBC, PN and CC significantly influence Gen Z consumers green apparel PI. Furthermore, eWOM moderated the relationship between CC and Gen Z consumers green apparel PI. Originality Although previous studies have examined the influence of attitude, SN and PBC on green product PI, the expanded framework with the proposed possible relationships is novel. This research sheds light on the effect of PN and CC on Gen Z consumers green apparel purchases. Furthermore, this study extends the green apparel literature by investigating the moderating impact of eWOM. 2026 Smriti Mathur, Alok Tewari, Avinash K. Shrivastava and Preeti Sharma.</text>

<text>The detection of samarium (Sm) and its isotopes/ions is gaining significant importance across various fields, including nuclear energy, materials science, environmental monitoring, and biomedicine. Accurate and sensitive detection methods are crucial for ensuring safety, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards. Despite the growing need, existing detection strategies often face challenges such as being time-consuming, inaccurate, cumbersome, and expensive. Surprisingly, fluorometric sensing has been explored minimally for Sm detection. In this study, we introduce a novel approach for detecting Sm (III) ions using a fluorescent metalorganic framework (MOF), Cu-PTC, synthesized via a one-pot, green, room temperature method. This represents the first reported use of a fluorescent MOF for Sm (III) detection. The Cu-PTC MOF was synthesized using the potassium salt of perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid and Cu (II) ions from Cu (OAc)2. Structural analysis revealed the formation of a 3D network with well-defined pores. Photophysical characterization confirmed the absorption and emission properties of Cu-PTC. The MOF was successfully employed for the selective detection of Sm (III) ions, with a detection limit of 6.53 ?M. 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.</text>

<text>Two-dimensional mixed metal oxides have been of interest recently, owing to their distinctive crystal structures and multifunctional properties. This article presents a green and sustainable synthesis approach for zinc vanadate (ZNV) nanoparticles (NPs) using chia seed powder by a green solution combustion method. The synthesized ZNV NPs were then employed for the preparation of g-C3N4/Zinc vanadate (ZNVG) nanocomposites (NCs) at 10 %, 20 %, and 30 % of g-C3N4 compositions. XRD, FT-IR, SEM, EDAX, UVVis, and PL techniques have been performed to characterize the materials entirely. The size of crystallites calculated through the Debye-Scherrer equation for 10 %, 20 %, and 30 % g-C3N4 doping content are 40 nm, 38 nm, and 37 nm, respectively. UVVis spectroscopy shows the redshift in the absorption wavelength and a reduction in the band-gap energy with enhanced light-harvesting features for higher g-C3N4 contents. Photocatalytic investigations have shown that the performance of ZNVG-20 nanocomposite is the optimum; with remarkable degradation efficiencies of 94 % of Rose Bengal and 97 % of Methylene Blue dyes after 180 min. Excellent degradation results were obtained for mixed dyes containing Rose Bengal, Methylene Blue and Methyl Orange and also for environmentally challenging substrates such as rangoli colors. Interestingly, the ZNVG composites also acted as good catalysts in the Knoevenagel condensation reaction, which exhibited up to 92 % efficiency under blue light irradiation. The present findings indicate the versatile potential of ZNVG nanocomposites as photocatalysts and catalysts for addressing environmental and synthetic challenges in a sustainable manner. 2025 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>On September 25, 2015, 193 countries of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, signed the 2030 Agenda to work towards attaining 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its associated 169 targets and 232 indicators. With one of the largest renewable energy programs, India is well-poised to be a role model for low-carbon transformation to other Asian countries. However, bridging the financing gap is critical to ensure that the country meets its SDG targets. Though the SDGs identified by the UN are broad-based and interdependent, for ease of analysis we have grouped them into five themes people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership based on existing UN models. This paper investigates the financing gap for green' projects linked to planet-related SDG targets in India. It builds an argument for utilizing green bonds as an instrument to bridge the gap. After establishing the potential of green bonds in raising the finance to meet India's planet-related SDG targets, we look at the current policy landscape and suggest recommendations for successful execution. The paper concludes that deepening of the corporate fixed income securities market and firming up guidelines in line with India's climate action plans are inevitable before green bonds can be considered a viable financing option. 2021. <text>Green bonds are a comparatively recent investment mechanism for green initiatives and are perceived as the first line of climate change protection. The aim of the article is to decide if the issuing of a green bond is perceived to be good news for market players, and also to ascertain whether developing markets, relative to established markets, are more inclined towards green bonds to tackle climate change. The study used an international sample of recent green bond issues and illustrated the possible effects of the issuing of a green bond for the issuer. A sample of 392 green bonds released from 2017 to 2020 is included. Event study methodology is used to analyse investor response to green bond issuance. Over the years, emerging markets have been found to be keen on greening projects by green bonds, much in line with established markets. The findings suggest that on the day of issuance of the green bonds the stock market responds adversely and reacts positively after the day. Hence statistical technique is applied on different event windows to obtain the cumulative abnormal returns (CAR). Statistical analysis concludes that the market responds adversely to the issuing of a green bond. This influence is particularly evident in the first issuing of green bonds and in developing markets. This research shows that proposals of green debt transmit unfavourable knowledge about the issuing companies. These results are relevant only in the case of green bonds issued by listed firms. 2023 MDI.</text>

<text>The fashion industry stands at a transformative crossroads, where artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable values reshape consumer behavior and retail strategies. Green by Design: AI in Fashion Retail and the Rise of the Conscious Consumer investigates how AI-driven personalization, product recommendations, and algorithmic nudging can foster environmentally responsible choices while navigating the ethical limits of automated influence. This volume presents theoretical and empirical contributions that examine social trust as a critical mediating factor in the relationship between AI technologies and sustainable consumer decisions. Trust-both in technology and in the ethical intent of fashion brands emerges as a determinant of consumer receptivity to AI-guided sustainable behavior. Through interdisciplinary analysis that spans marketing, data ethics, psychology, and digital retail, the book explores how perceived transparency, fairness, and inclusivity in AI systems influence the formation of social trust and, in turn, amplify or constrain sustainable consumption. 2026 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>Today, the adoption of environmental policies has gained significance in the corporate scenario not only for sustainability but to also improve organizational dynamics. These environmental policies are discussed in terms of their effects on the overall performance, satisfaction, and general well-being of the employees, thus forming the company culture and behavior. Another objective of this book chapter is to come up with a developmental model, other than what exists so far, which will study the impact of environmental policies using Organizational image as a moderator. Also, including how employee motivation, organizational communication, and leadership can create an enabling environment for sustainable development. This book chapter aims at offering useful insights and recommendations to companies keen to exploit environmental efforts not only as a means of complying with the requirement but also as a stimulant for a motivated and engaged workforce in the modern corporate climate. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>A green data center is a facility that makes use of eco-friendly techniques and technologies to lessen its carbon footprint and environmental impact. A data center can consume as much electricity as a small city and contains thousands of servers. These server farms require an enormous amount of processing power to operate, which presents numerous difficulties, including high energy costs, greenhouse gas emissions, backups, and recovery. This paper clarifies the various green data center best practices, including energy efficiency, cooling systems, renewable energy, sustainable building techniques, and carbon footprint. The need for green data centers in todays internet, commercial, financial, and business applications is also covered in the paper. The reality and myths of green data centers are alsoexamined. The paper delves into the metrics for each characteristic used to gauge how green and effective data centers are. The discussion has concluded with case studies of companies that have implemented green data centers. The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.</text>

<text>Bio-triboelectric nanogenerators (B-TENGs) show promise as a sustainable and renewable source for harvesting green energy using natural biocompatible and biodegradable substrates. Dry leaves contribute to a large amount of waste accumulation daily, even though they can be used to generate energy. Almost all the dry leaves collected during cleaning procedures are burned, resulting in greenhouse emissions and air pollution. This work aims to consider using biodegradable fresh and dry leaves as a bio-source for a cost-effective, sustainable, and flexible energy-harvesting system. When different frequencies and pressures were applied to B-TENGs, significant potential power output of around ~30V and ~350?W was produced. The experimental results and density functional theory (DFT) calculations support the charge transport phenomenon in dry-leaf powder under different compressive strains. A surface influences charge generation in B-TENGs and the presence of functional groups with inhomogeneous particle distribution, as demonstrated by experimental and mathematical modeling. The current work is ideal for large-scale manufacturing since it uses natural waste materials in dried forms, as well as simple and low-cost preparation. Therefore, our environmentally friendly solutions highlight the special abilities of plants to produce electricity for various flexible electronic applications. <text>Today, green finance and sustainability have become integral parts of the global financial landscape, and it is the Indian financial institutions that are leading the way. This chapter delves into the intricate landscape of green finance and sustainability in Indian financial institutions. It focuses on regulation, green bonds, sustainable banking, public and private sector initiatives, and the challenges and opportunities they present. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) are at the forefront of these initiatives. The RBI, for instance, is already taking significant steps, such as incorporating sustainability into its policy framework, by considering renewable energy in its priority sector lending norms. SEBI, conversely, has made it mandatory for all listed companies to disclose their ESG practices under the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework, a move that promotes transparency and sustainable practices. Green bonds are a potent financial instrument for directing capital toward environmentally sustainable projects. In India, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency and several banks have proactively issued green bonds to finance renewable energy, energy efficiency, and clean transportation projects. The State Bank of Indias issuance of its first green bond in 2018, raising USD 650 million for a green project, is a testament to SBIs dedication to sustainable finance and a model for other financial institutions. Indian banks are increasingly integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, a set of standards for a companys operations that socially conscious investors use to screen potential investments in their lending and investment decisions fostering longterm green banking practices. They also provide green loans for projects with positive environmental impacts and incorporate climate risk assessment into their risk management frameworks driven by regulatory mandates and market demand for responsible investments. Both the public and private sectors in India are actively promoting green finance. The government provides support and technical know-how for fund arrangements for green projects through initiatives like the Green Climate Fund and the International Solar Alliance. Major corporations, including Tata Power and Reliance Industries, also invest heavily in renewable energy sources aligning with corporate sustainability trends. However, green financing in India still faces challenges. For instance, the general public is unaware of green financial products, which hampers their adoption. The limited number of such products and weak regulatory support pose significant hurdles. Despite these challenges, the potential for green finance in India is immense. The increasing recognition of climate change-related risks is driving demand for resilient investments. The progress in renewable energy and efficiency technologies is creating new investment opportunities, and international collaborations can enhance the capacity of Indian financial institutions to support green projects. Finally, the green finance and sustainability landscapes in Indian financial institutions are dynamic and changing rapidly. Regulatory systems, innovative financial instruments, sustainable banking practices, and proactive initiatives from public and private sectors collectively drive green finance growth and support by the countrys strive toward green financing of its transition to a sustainable and resilient economy. 2025 Scrivener Publishing LLC.</text>

<text>This chapter explores the interconnection between Green Finance and Digital Ecology, highlighting their potential in advancing sustainability through technological innovation. Emphasis is placed on how green FinTech can mitigate these challenges by designing low- carbon financial systems and promoting sustainable investment practices. The methodology involves a review of scholarly literature to assess how digital finance and ecology contribute to global sustainability efforts. Findings suggest that the integration of green FinTech, digital money, and ecological practices can enhance transparency, reduce costs, and expand access to sustainable finance, ultimately leading to more resilient financial ecosystems. The chapter calls for increased awareness, financial literacy, and robust regulatory frameworks to manage associated risks. 2026 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.</text>
