COVID-19 Pandemic has a profound Impact on the Indian tourism sector, especially on beach tourism. Research shows significant changes in the pattern of the ecological terrain of coastal areas and on the community dependent on tourism business and marine life, due to the imposition of lockdown for several months. The paper discusses the change in behavioral patterns of people during Pre and Post COVID-19 for visiting any beach destination in near future in terms of preferences in accommodation, selection of beaches based on crowd and other factors that will be considered in post pandemic days. This study brings out various key indicators shaping the pattern of beach holidays in the future based on the survey conducted among tourists belonging to youth population. The survey considered the tourists preferences of visits and factors they would look upon to choose beach holidaying in the Post COVID-19 years. The influence of the pandemic on quality of beaches, visitorswillingness to visit beaches in future, Post Pandemic opportunities and strategies of destinations for shaping tourism further have also been examined. Travel and Tourism is one of the business sectors across the world that experienced a devastating effect of the Covid-19 Pandemic. All allied sectors of tourism were also affected by the pandemic in an unprecedented manner. The Tourism sector is one of the significant contributors to the GDP of many countries and the largest service industry, where a greater number of women and youth are employed. The Middle East nations and India which are highly reliant on international tourism for economic growth, have been seriously affected by the Pandemic. Apart from the mainstream, a large number of people are informally associated with the tourism sector for their livelihood all over the world. Tourism industry occupies a significant position in enhancing the demand for products and services from different sectors of the economy. In the post covid- period there is a drastic fall in the GDP contribution of the Tourism sector to the economy of Middle East countries and India. This chapter examines the impact of the Pandemic on the Travel & Tourism sector of Middle East nations and India, and proposes the strategies to overcome the present adversities and to revive the industry in the new normal situation even though there is uncertainty and challenges in the road ahead. Impact of COVID-19-Related Distress on Anxiety and Depression of College Students

The current study explores the impact of COVID-19 related distress factors on the mental well-being of college students. For the purpose of the study, mental well-being is measured through the depression symptoms and general anxiety levels of the students. The study used judgemental sampling to identify the respondents of the study. The final sample consisted of 147 respondents and the data was analysed on SPSS. The results suggested that while COVID-19 distress factors were not significant in predicting the level of depression symptoms experienced by the students, the general anxiety levels were significantly impacted by the distress factors. The findings are particularly useful for the teachers and institutions working to connect and teach through online platforms. 2022, Commonwealth of Learning. All rights reserved.

Climate change activists are focusing on reducing emissions from sectors like automotive, aviation, and energy. Data centers consume more electricity than the UK, accounting for 3% of global electricity supply and 2% of total greenhouse gas emissions. By 2040, digital data storage is projected to contribute to 14% of the world's emissions. In a Smart Grid environment the performance measure of the grid is calculated by considering the fact that how accurately and precisely a load forecasting (LF) is done. A true Load Forecasting is vital to make a current grid smarter and more reliable when it comes to its performance. Demand Response (DR) contracts is a type of program in smart grid where the customer is free to select a type of contract which is given by the utility and is one of the growing factor which affects the load forecasting results in the Smart Grid, therefore in order to do a complete evaluation of smart grid performance and to accomplish an accurate load forecasting results the different types of contracts should also be studied. The purpose of this study is to accomplish two goals. The first one is to develop a suitable model which can incorporate various factors that can affect the load forecasting results. The subsequent goal is to identify the impact of the demand response contracts on the load forecasting results. In the proposed study, Support Vector Machine-Regression (SVR) is selected as the base methodology to perform a Short - Term Load Forecasting (STLF) under smart grid environment. 2017 IEEE.

The need to preserve the environment, lower pollution levels, expand the amount of green space, and encourage environmentally responsible behavior has grown in recent years, all of which will contribute to a more sustainable society. This study seeks to determine the probability that demographic variables of students in higher education in Delhi NCR will influence their desire to participate in environmental education. Binary Logistics Regression has been used on the data gathered from 302 respondents and the model has been found to have been a good one as shown by Omnibus Test. It is found that 'Gender' and 'Field of Study' are the two most significant variables, which have a higher probability impact on students' willingness to join environmental education. Specifically, female students vis-vis male students and students with engineering & and science background vis-vis other students have more chance of joining environmental education courses. 2024 IEEE.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the influence of determinants on early internationalization in the context of an emerging economy, i.e. India. Design/methodology/approach: The study is based on an ex post facto exploratory research using primary data collected from a sample of 102 exporting small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bangalore. Findings: The overall results reveal that it is the proactive entrepreneurs and their previous experience that determine the early internationalization of SMEs. Further, competitive constraint was a major obstacle to enter the international market at an early age for late internationalized SMEs. Practical implications: The policy initiatives should aim to develop the international orientation of the entrepreneurs in the firm as a precursor for the formulation and subsequent implementation of internationalization strategies. Originality/value: Although studies have been conducted on determinants and early internationalization, these are confined to a few dimensions, and none of the studies have looked into the issues affecting the early internationalization holistically and with respect to SMEs in India. 2019, Emerald Publishing Limited.

In recent years, economic transactions are carried out through electronic or online or cashless means all over the world especially in developed countries and developing countries like India. As a result of increased digital means of payment has brought down usage of cash transactions in the economy. Digital transactions have the features of speed, less cost, and comfort. A well functioning digital payment system has much relevance on overall economic activity, monetary policy, and financial stability of a country. This study tries to verify the impact of digital payments on the economic growth of India. The economic growth is measured through a proxy real Gross Domestic Product. Digital payments are measured using Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), Clearing Corporation of India Ltd (CCIL) operated systems, paper clearing, retail electronic clearing, Card payments, and Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPIs). Data for digital payments and real GDP are collected from the year 2011 to 2019. Ordinary Least Square Regression, Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ADRL) co-integration approach and ARDL Bounds test are employed for the analysis. The study results reveal that digital payments impact economic growth significantly in the short run. But, digital payments dont impact economic growth in the long-run. BEIESP.

The integration of digital storytelling (DST) into teaching has significantly influenced educational development, especially English language acquisition. This study examines the impact of DST-integrated pedagogy on students' attitudes and perceptions toward learning English. In a quantitative study using an experimental design, 200 middle school students were purposively selected and divided into control and experimental groups. The control group received the traditional method of language teaching, while the experimental group received the DST method. Data were collected through a survey and analysed using descriptive and Wilcoxon test. The results suggest that exposure to DST positively influenced students' attitudes and led to better understanding, engagement, and motivation in learning English in the treatment group. This suggests that incorporating DST into English lessons can improve teaching quality and students' overall progress. Further analysis is needed to fully explore the potential of DST-based instruction in developing language acquisition skills. 2024 IGI Global. All rights reserved.

Motivation is a key factor in the learning process, especially in language acquisition. This research examines the effects of using digital storytelling (DST) on motivation in English classrooms. The study, which used a mixed methods approach, involved 100 middle school students in Bengaluru selected through convenience sampling. Data collection methods included questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Students were divided into experimental and control groups, with the former receiving DST-integrated instruction and the latter being taught using traditional methods. The results of the quantitative analysis showed a positive influence on motivation in the experimental group compared to the control group. Qualitative results showed that implementing DST increased students' motivation, engagement, and understanding of the English language more effectively than traditional teaching methods. Further research is encouraged to explore the full potential of DST to improve student language skills and motivation. 2024 IGI Global. All rights reserved.

The aim of this study is to explore the influence the digital wallets on digital banking experience of the bank customers. The study used e-wallet literacy scale constructs as independent variables and digital banking experience as dependent variable in order to identify the impact of digital wallets on digital baking experience of the bank customers. The primary data was collected from 300 bank customers who are using the digital wallet provided by the bank or any other third-party digital wallet. Structure equation modeling was executed to explore the influence of digital wallets on digital banking experience. The results indicate that Purchase Transactions (PT) and Investment Transactions (IT) are having high influence on digital banking experience followed by Fund Transfer Transactions (FTP), Method of Payment (MOP) having moderate impact, and finally, Credit Payment Transactions (CPT) and Bill Payment Transactions (BPT) are having low influence on digital banking experience. The recent phenomenal increase in the outward foreign direct investment (FDI) of emerging countries has raised concerns among policymakers. One school of thought argues that when multinational firms relocate production facilities abroad, it reduces the likelihood of concurrent investments in the home country, resulting in reduced domestic output. In this case, the outward FDI would harm the domestic investments. The other argues that the outward FDI would be more advantageous for the domestic investment when firms internationalize for entering into new markets and/or to import intermediate goods, wherein outward investments boost the returns in the home country, leading to a positive impact of outward FDI on domestic investment. The influence of the outward FDI on the domestic investment of any country or a region state cannot be generalized as each country is unique, and the drivers of investments would differ for different countries at the different development phases of each country. An attempt was made in this study to empirically trace the impact of the domestic investment, market size, and trade openness of the BRICS's members on the BRICS's outward FDI as a group. The results of the panel least square method highlighted that the variables - domestic investment and trade openness of BRICS had a positive effect on the outward FDI; whereas, the market size of BRICS was inversely related to outward FDI of BRICS. Purpose The study evaluates the influence of the dynamic pricing factors, price transparency, seasonality and driver behavior on the ride-hailing services perceived quality. While many technological changes are detected in the service, dissatisfaction continues to persist between customers about prices surging higher and dangerous practices of driving in the service. Design/methodology/approach In the context of an urban area such as Bangalore, service quality and customer satisfaction are mostly a result of dynamic pricing and driver behavior. In order to better understand the associations in these relations, the study utilizes PLS-SEM in quantitative. Findings The study identifies the user-ride-hailing survey key service quality drivers reliability, comfort, responsiveness and safety. Although the results indicate that dynamic pricing can successfully manage demand, this is contingent on whether it is implemented in a transparent manner and with a sense of equity perceived by customers. Driver professionalism is the important variable that strengthens or weakens the effect of pricing policies on customer satisfaction. Research limitations/implications This study contributes to the expanding body of knowledge on urban mobility and provides actionable insights for improving ride-hailing operations in developing economies. Practical implications Implications to industrial stakeholders entail reorienting in driver training and refining algorithms and strategies about dynamic pricing that boost customer trust and loyalty. E-commerce has become an important mode of trade, both domestically and internationally. E-commerce provides a platform for exchange of goods and services and thus directly alters the cost of trade and profits of firms, while simultaneously, generates a demand for a different set of skilled managers and creates opportunities for increasing investment and thereby affects the volume of domestic and international trade and in-turn affects the overall level of output and employment in an economy. There are empirical evidences on how certain developed countries like UK, USA, earlier, and lately developing countries like China, have leveraged e-commerce to enhance international trade. This paper attempts to contribute to the literature by studying the impact of e-commerce on India's international trade, especially exports, and investment which in-turn impact the level of output/gross domestic product (GDP) and employment in the country. Doxorubicin (Dox), despite being an effective anti-cancer drug, also causes cytotoxicity to noncancerous tissues. ECs are highly abundant in the heart; thus, endothelial dysfunction is a major cause of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy. The release of EPCs triggered by endothelial dysfunction, participates in the growth of new blood vessels and the repair of damaged endothelium to promote repair mechanism. The current study aimed to evaluate the effects of doxorubicin on SDF1/CXCR4 pathway via in silico molecular docking and simulation studies. Remarkably, heparin binding site of SDF1at LEU: 29 might be preoccupied by doxorubicin leads to poor expression because SDF1 activity heavily depends on its binding sites. On the other hand, active sites of CXCR4 at ASP: 171 and GLU: 288 also engaged by dox, leading to the assumption that doxorubicin restrict the receptor activity. Additionally, the interaction of doxorubicin at the proton acceptor site and ATP binding sites of VEGFR1, including ASP: 1022, GLY: 836, ALE: 837 and PHE: 838, suppresses the function of the receptor in the MAPK1/ERK2 and AKT1 signaling cascades. The co-expressing factor involved in SDF1/CXCR4 like VEGFR2, ANGPT1 and SHIP2 were also affected by specific amino acid interactions. This induces alterations in several vital biochemical pathways, leading to metabolic chaos. Taken together, it is hypothesize that doxorubicin-mediated functional inactivity of SDF1 via its receptor CXCR4 and VEGFR1 impaired the cardiac EPCs regulation on angiogenesis and vascularization. This research investigates the impact of compulsory university courses focusing on sustainability on students attitudes and behaviors towards responsible consumption. The study seeks to determine how education impacts sustainable decision-making by analyzing students consumption habits both before and after they enroll in these courses. The study based on descriptive nature, as per convenience sampling method the required data are collected from 220 students enrolled under graduate programme offered by colleges affiliated to Bangalore University. The structure questionnaire constructed with six EALEnvironmental Awareness Level; PHWBPersonal health and wellbeing; SR-Social responsibility; PVIPersonal value and identity; ICInnovation and creativity; EB-Economic Benefits and these dimension analyzed with help of correlation matrix. Based on the analysis of six dimensions of green consumption the findings indicate that the courses significantly influenced students inclination towards sustainable consumption, suggesting the potential for educational initiatives to drive positive change.
