<text>Gamification has gone through a faddish cycle. It first gained prominence around 2012 and was quickly abandoned, as practitioners did not achieve the outcomes they expected. According to Gartner's Hype Cycle, Gamification is at a point at which one might expect wide scale adoption. However, if history is not to repeat itself and results are to be achieved as theoretically predicted, a deeper understanding of the concept is essential. In the current study, the researchers attempt to evaluate a gamified learning experience. The participants were students of a Master in Business Administration course. The students were asked to participate in a gamified module and relevant data was collected, before and after the intervention. Based on a review of literature, the researchers identified the exogenous variables of Valence, Attitude towards use of Technology and Experience with Technology. The endogenous variables identified included Reaction and Learning. The findings of the study suggest that the gamified module resulted in increase in knowledge and that Attitude, Experience and Valence significantly predicted the Learner's reaction to the experience. The findings of the study provide support to key theories in the area of gamification and insights for practitioners, on the factors to be considered before using a gamifiedlearning intervention. 2021 UNIVERSIDADE FEEVALE All rights reserved.</text>

<text>The concept of sustainability brought into focus the need for research into how to measure and achieve sustainable growth. The triple bottom line framework and the resource-based view of the firm suggest the need for organisations to look beyond profits and take into consideration the needs and effectiveness of its workforce. Research suggests that an effective workforce can be achieved through constant learning and development. Organisations have also expressed the need for training techniques that are more effective than the traditional methods. Gamification has been proposed as one such technique, and in the current study, the researchers evaluate the effectiveness of gamification in organisational training. For the purpose of the current study, 120 participants were chosen from public sector organisations in India. This is primarily because the technology-enhanced training effectiveness model (TETEM) suggests that the effectiveness of gamification would depend on the culture of the organisation, and prior research has been based in privately owned firms. The findings are in line with the theory of gamified learning and suggest that participants of the gamified module reported higher levels of learning, reaction and learner motivation. Additionally, learner motivation was found to strengthen the impact of gamification on the learning and reaction. The Author(s) 2022.</text>

<text>Stereotypes are ideas that one holds regarding individuals because of their membership to a specific group. The current research was undertaken to study stereotype perception and stereotype threat on the psychological wellbeing of children of prisoners. Eight children of prisoners in the age range of 17 to 25 (females = 4), whose fathers were in prison for more than a year, participated in the study. Semi-structured interview method was used to collect data from the participants and data were analyzed using thematic network analysis method. Results revealed that children of prisoners strongly perceive stereotypes against them and they conform to stereotypes. Further to this, it was found that stereotype threat had positive effects in terms of increased goal-directed behavior and negative effects in terms of reduced happiness and increased feelings of anger and sadness. These Undings are discussed in light of previous literature on the effects of stereotypes on behavior. 2019 International Journal of Criminal Justice Sciences (IJCJS).</text>

<text>The Metaverse has been gaining importance, with businesses looking to adopt the same for processes rangingfrom onboarding to customer experience. The current study has been conducted to evaluate the impact of learner characteristics on motivation to participate in metaverse-based training programs across various organizations. Based on literature and theory, two main characteristics were identified: attitude towards the metaverse and experience with the technology. Data for the study was collected using a structured questionnaire and 103 responses were collected from employees belonging to various organizations in India. The analysis and interpretation of the data was done using statistical techniques through the tool of SPSS. The study found out that both the learner characteristics have a strong positive relationship with each other, and attitude towards metaverse has a stronger relationship with learner motivation than the experience of use. The findings suggest organizations focus more on the manner in which they should introduce metaverse at the workplaces and need to keep the employee attitude towards any kind of change; more of a technological change in mind when they are strategizing to implement metaverse-based training programs. 2024, IGI Global. <text>Hydroxyl radical induced oxidation of carbaryl has been studied using steady state photolysis followed by high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-Q-TOF-MS), pulse radiolysis, and theoretical (DFT) calculations. The reaction of ?OH with carbaryl resulted in a number of hydroxylated adduct radicals (?max - 330 nm and 390 nm; k2 - 1.2 1010 dm3 mol-1 s-1). The DFT calculations and results obtained from LC-Q-TOF-MS analysis shows the possible addition of ?OH at C1 (energetically most stable) and C7 positions of carbaryl leading to the generation of resonance stabilized hydroxycyclohexadienyl-type radicals as the immediate intermediates, which eventually converted into naphthol and a hydroxylated naphthols. LC-Q-TOF-MS results also revealed the formation of other hydroxylated derivatives and naphthoquinones that are most likely originated from the consecutive ?OH attack on the initially formed products. Naphthoquinones are found to undergo ring opening and the corresponding products are identified. The reaction of SO4?- with carbaryl, on the other hand, results the radical cation of parent molecule (?max - 320 nm and 390 nm) which exhibits reasonable stability in the pulse radiolysis timescale. Total organic carbon (TOC) analysis after H2O2/UV photolysis revealed that nearly 70% of the organic content is mineralized after 35 min of irradiation, which demonstrates the potential application of oxidative methods towards the degradation of carbaryl. 2021 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Background and objective: Leadership communicates purpose and innovative ways to thrive for performance. Leadership support influences and impacts operational excellence in the health sector as a patient-centered operation, with effective management, excellence framework, challenges and constraints, teamwork and value stream mapping. It is hypothesized that: (1) perceived leadership support will positively correlate with perceived operational excellence (Patient-centered Operations, Effective Resource Management, Excellence framework, Eliminating Challenges or Constraints, Team Work, Value Stream Mapping) and (2) the correlation would be highest with Patient-centered Operations. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between leadership support and operational excellence in the health care sector among a selected group of healthcare managers. Materials and method: A correlation study between leadership support and operational excellence was designed for a group of health care managers (n = 80) from eight hospitals in Kerala, South India. The selection of executives was from NABH accredited hospitals from districts with a minimum of four NABH accredited hospital. A survey was sent to a selected study sample. The respondents were cooperative and provided responses on perceived leadership support for operational excellence. Results: Factors of leadership support correlated to operational excellence. Conclusion: In the health care sector, leadership support for patient-centered operations helps achieve operational excellence. 2020</text>

<text>Background: Health care in private healthcare organizations is a balancing act between business excellence and quality outcomes in practice. This complex activity establishes the existence of quality of care climate so as the pedestal of quality of care decisions bring health care excellence. In healthcare, Quality of care is not linear but multi-dimensional, with myriad challenges. Purpose: The aim of the study was to establish the organizational pedestal for quality of care and predominant quality of care dimension. Method: This study was approved by the IRB of our Institution. This study empirically tested the quality of care climate types in NABH accredited and non-accredited hospitals using quantitative method with a sample of 410 healthcare managers from accredited and non-accredited hospitals in South India. Results: The results indicate that among the dimensions of quality of care climate, competitive advantage was perceived the lowest with a mean rating of 73.14 among the rest. Value-Stream was perceived as the highest quality of care climate with a mean of 83.12. The results indicate that patient centered value-stream is the predominant dimension of quality of care climate as perceived by the managers and value stream is the predominated determinant of patient centered decisions. Conclusions: The results designate a promising support for patient centered quality of care approach for health care excellence with a balance on value stream mapping. 2021</text>

<text>Manufacturers globally faced various challenges in terms of sustainability and continuous production in the past COVID conditions and it showed the importance of redesigning the existing processes. All new manufacturing processes should be designed by considering the pandemic situation in the future. The present study is focused on restructuring the layout of an existing production unit in order to cope with any such eventualities. Various models that are suitable for adoption in post-pandemic, have been proposed and their efficiencies are compared in this paper. The authors also investigate how such changes will impact the efficiency of the existing line. Key parameters considered in this paper are the total production hours, line efficiency, balancing delay, and production rate. 2023 ACM.</text>

<text>The main goals of the multifaceted healthcare system were to prevent, identify, and treat illnesses or conditions that affect human health. As the usage of IT in healthcare increased, the complexities in managing the IT infrastructure also increase, emphasizing the need of robust cyber security systems. The study aims to emphasize the advancements made in cyber security and information systems in healthcare, based on bibliometric analysis. 5,487 document's metadata was obtained from Scopus and data was analyzed using Vos Viewer. Ranking of articles was done with average yearly citations of the publications. Bibliometric analysis was performed based on 'bibliographic coupling of countries', 'co-occurrence of all keywords', 'author-based co-authorship', and 'term co-occurrence based on text data'. It was found that United States had the maximum publications (1337). 'Department of Information Systems and Cyber Security, The University of Texas at San Antonio, United States' is the most influential organization with 159 publications. IEEE Access is the most preferred platform for publication related to cyber security and information systems in healthcare (231 publications). 167 publications have received more than 100 citations. Choo K. K.R. is the most influential author with 185 publications. 2023 IEEE.</text>

<text>Five new nickel(II) complexes have been synthesised with an NNO donor tridentate aroylhydrazone (HFPB) employing the chloride, nitrate, acetate and perchlorate salts, and all the complexes are physiochemically characterized. Elemental analyses suggested stoichiometries as Ni(FPB)(NO3)]2H2O (1), [Ni(HFPB)(FPB)]Cl (2), [Ni(FPB)(OAc)(DMF)] (3), [Ni(FPB)(ClO4)]DMF (4), [Ni(FPB)2] (5). Aroylhydrazone is found coordinating in deprotonated iminolate form in four of the complexes (1, 3, 4, 5) however in one case (complex 2), two aroylhydrazone moieties are binding to the metal centre in the neutral and anionic forms. The structure of the bisligated complex 5, found using single crystal X ray diffraction studies confirmed that the metal has a distorted octahedral N4O2 coordination environment, with each of the two deprotonated ligands coordinating through the pyridine nitrogen, imino-hydrazone nitrogen and the enolate oxygen of the hydrazone moiety. To compare and study, the electronic interactions and stabilities of the metal complexes, various quantum chemical parameters were calculated. Moreover, Hirshfeld surface analysis was carried out for complex 5 to determine the intermolecular interactions. The biophysical attributes of the ligand and complex5 have been investigated with CT-DNA and experimental outcomes show that the Ni(II) complex exhibited higher binding propensity towards DNA as compared to ligand. Furthermore, to specifically understand the type of interactions of the metal complexes with DNA, molecular docking studies were effectuated. In addition, the electronic and related reactivity behaviors of the ligand and five Ni(II) complexes were studied using B3LYP/631 + + G**/LANL2DZ level. As expected, the obtained results from Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) computations displayed that the resonance interactions (n ? ?* and ? ? ?*) play a determinant role in evaluating the chemical attributes of the reported compounds. <text>An NNO donor aroylhydrazone monohydrate, HFPBH2O (3-fluoropyridine-2-carbaldehyde benzoylhydrazone monohydrate) was synthesized from 3-fluoropyridine-2-carbaldehyde and benzhydrazide and physicochemically characterised. The coordination behaviour of the aroylhydrazone with the metal ion is investigated through various physicochemical techniques and it is concluded that it binds to the metal ion predominantly in the enolate resonance form, while few complexes exhibit keto form of the ligand. The structure of [Cu(FPB)(OAc)(H2O)]H2O (4a) established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method unveiled that the metal ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry in this complex. The coordination sites of Cu(II) ion are occupied by azomethine N, pyridyl N and iminolate O from a monodeprotonated hydrazone moiety and the remaining two positions are occupied by two oxygen atoms, one each from acetate ion and the water molecule. Potential applications of the complexes were studied by subjecting them to DNA/protein (BSA) binding studies using electronic and fluorescence spectroscopy. The complexes were found to bind with DNA/protein (BSA) with binding constants in the order of 104 M?1 to 105 M?1. The intercalative mode of binding of the complexes with DNA was proved using spectral studies and molecular docking. Furthermore, the complex [Cu(FPB)(N3)(H2O)2] (5) was found to cleave the DNA from form I to form II during gel electrophoresis studies. 2020 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Excess data makes it challenging to extract information that is relevant to a domain of study or research. Existing state-of-the-art systems focus
majorly on the selection of highly connected, prestigious and cited articles, regardless of the relevance of papers. To improve quality of findings,
recommender systems which are a subclass of information filtration systems are used. They filter out relevant information over prestigious data
from an existing repository of information. There are various sub-domains under recommender systems. This study focuses on citation
recommendation. Citations are an integral part of any scientific paper, academic dissertation or projects. Finding appropriate citations for any
work is a scholar's most time-consuming task. Thus, a well-defined citation recommendation system provides fulfillment and completeness for citing
the giants works. The thesis aims to study existing frameworks for citation recommendation systems and identify the best dataset to work on graph-
based recommender systems. A framework that recommends the most similar and relevant article to the user rather than prestigious authors or
papers is here by proposed. The study explores various machine learning and deep learning techniques and methods which can be used effectively
in recommending loosely connected yet highly relevant articles. </text>

<text>A cost-effective thermal pyrolysis route was adopted to synthesize N-doped carbon nanotube (NCNT) in a single step with the aid of melamine (carbon and nitrogen source) and cobalt catalyzed growth for the formation of N-doped carbon nanotubes. The NCNT was acid treated (fNCNT) to remove the metallic Co from the CNT which was elucidated using X-ray diffraction. Even though these noble metal-free materials are explored as Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) electrocatalyst, for it to be employed in actual fuel cell the cathode requires noble metals such as Platinum (Pt) nanoparticles to improve its sluggish kinetics. Thus, this study is mainly focused on employing fNCNT as catalyst support in PEMFC, wherein the electrocatalyst was synthesized using microwave-assisted polyol method to decorate Pt nanoparticles on fNCNT, demonstrating its excellent durability of 32% electrochemical active surface area (ECSA) loss when subjected to standard protocols, and full cell performance of hybrid ((Pt/fNCNT) + CB) 412 mW cm?2 (better than commercial Pt/C) when deployed as electrocatalyst for ORR in Polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell, thus our findings open new avenues to explore, design and develop N-doped carbon nanotubes as durable catalyst for fuel cells. <text>In this study, an efficient and viable microwave-assisted polyol route was adopted to decorate Pt nanoparticles on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNT). Carbon corrosion tests were conducted on bare CNT (T), functionalized CNT (f-T), and commercial carbon (Vulcan XC-72R); our results indicate that f-T have the highest resistance toward corrosion, indicating its high stability in corrosive environments. The cyclic voltammetry curves were obtained before and after 5000 cycles by subjecting the electrocatalyst to harsh potential cycling; our test results imply that Pt/CNT are more durable when compared to commercial Pt/C. Then, fuel cell studies comprising Pt/CNT as cathode electrocatalyst was studied, and the results showed enhanced performance (maximum power density: 384 mW cm?2) for Pt/f-T than commercial Pt/C (367 mW cm?2) in Polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell, indicating the potential use of carbon nanotubes as support in PEM fuel cell. <text>The reliance of carbon black as catalyst support for Pt in PEM fuel cell has posed a major challenge in its durability as carbon blacks are highly prone to corrosion. As an alternative, CNTs, CNFs, and graphene are explored as catalyst support, however at the expense of tedious synthesis procedure and production cost. So to combat this issue, a facile flame pyrolysis route was adopted to produce carbon nano-onions using eco-friendly corn oil. Further modification in the carbon nano-onions exhibited better corrosion resistance in comparison to carbon black (Vulcan XC-72R). Also, a systematic approach was adopted towards developing a durable electrocatalyst which was designed to withstand harsh fuel cell operating conditions. The electrocatalyst was successfully analyzed using stringent standard testing protocols (< 40% ECSA loss). Among all the electrocatalyst studied, Pt/fOC exhibited only 37.1% loss in electrochemical active surface area (ECSA) after 5000 cycles, thus indicating its excellent durability. A full cell was also constructed with Pt/fOC as cathode electrocatalyst which showed a maximum power density of 365 mW cm?2comparable to commercial Pt/C (367 mW cm?2). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study on the application of corn oil derived carbon nano-onions as catalyst support for PEM fuel cells. <text>Walsura piscidia Roxb. (Family: Meliaceae) is currently known for rich sources of bioactive compounds with growing multiple therapeutic and medicinal importance. The main objectives of this study were to characterize the phytochemical profile of the leaves of W. piscidia by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), followed by the evaluation of its antioxidant potential by quantifying the amounts of phenols and flavonoids present within the extracts, through the existing methods of detection. The extractive yield calculated after Soxhlet extraction was seen to be higher for the ethanolic extract with a value of 21.9 %, followed by the methanolic extracts (21.06 %) and the qualitative phytochemical tests gave similar classes of phytochemicals like triterpenoids, phenolic compounds and tannins in the methanolic and ethanolic extracts. The total phenolic content was seen to be higher in the ethanolic extract with a value of 26.192 0.401 mg GAE/g and the total flavonoid content was seen to be higher in the methanolic extract with a value of 42.972 0.214 mg QE/g. The methanolic extract showed promising results in the antioxidant assays with a significantly low IC50 value in DPPH assay and high ferric reducing power in ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay. The GC-MS chromatograms showed almost similar compounds for both the methanolic and ethanolic leaf extracts, some important ones being n-Hexadecanoic acid, stigmasterol, campesterol, 5-hydroxymethyl furfural, etc, displaying properties of interest like antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, etc. This work contributes to our better understanding of the medicinal properties of the leaves of W. piscidia and has also provided a strong scientific basis to the traditional usage claims of this tree.
