<text>The effectiveness and safety of nanomaterials (NMs) are essential for their use in healthcare. This study focuses on creating NPs with multifunctional antibacterial and anticancer properties to combat bacterial infections and cancer disease more effectively than traditional antibiotics. This study investigates the synthesis of Zr3O and chitosan (ch) coated zirconium oxide nanoparticles (chZrO NPs) using Bougainvillea glabra (B. glabra) plant extract through a green, one-pot precipitation method. The synthesized NPs were analyzed using various techniques. Their antibacterial properties are attributed to the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), influenced by their size, large surface area, oxygen vacancies, ion release, and diffusion capabilities. The chZrO NPs showed superior antibacterial activity compared to Zr3O and chitosan alone, with effective inhibition against both Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus and B. subtilis) and Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli and P. aeruginosa). Additionally, anticancer studies of chZrO NPs demonstrated significant activity against colon cancer HCT116 cells with C50 values of 4.98 ?g/mL compared to chitosan and Zr3O with 9.62, 6.69 ?g/mL, while biocompatibility tests on L929 cells confirmed their safety showing 93 % cell viability compared to ch and Zr3O. These findings suggest that chZrO NPs are promising candidates for future use in clinical and healthcare applications. 2025 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Purpose: This study aims to determine website quality, young adult socialization and dark triad personality as the factors influencing the real estate purchase decision. In addition, this study also measures the mediating effects of young adult socialization on real estate purchase buying behavior. Design/methodology/approach: Related literature, quantifiable variables with a five-point Likert scale, hypothesis testing and mediators are used to study the model. A systematic questionnaire that was divided into four sections was used. A total of 336 valid responses were collected and analyzed through a structural equation model. Findings: The results suggest that dark triad personality and young adult socialization considerably affect real estate purchase decisions. The development proves website quality does not significantly impact real estate purchase behavior. Research limitations/implications: This study is limited to a few young consumers responses. Future studies could be more widespread globally and should include more variables and offline methods of purchasing behavior. Originality/value: As per the review of existing literature, this research is the first, to the best of the authors knowledge, to determine the factors affecting the real estate purchase decision with factors like website quality, dark triad personalities and young adult socialization involving it. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited.</text>

<text>Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, highlighting the urgent need for effective treatments. Similarly, rising antibiotic resistance emphasizes the demand for new antimicrobial drugs. In response, the present study uses Bougainvillea glabra (B. glabra) as a capping agent to synthesis sodium alginate-doped bismuth oxide (SABO) and environmentally friendly bismuth oxide (BO). SABO exhibited smaller particle size (25 nm) and higher crystallinity compared to BO (42 nm). SEM analysis revealed rock-stone-like morphology with average particle sizes of 42 nm for BO and 25 nm for SABO, indicating smaller and better-dispersed particles in SABO. UVVis DRS analysis showed a red shift in absorbance from 387 nm (BO) to 397 nm (SABO) and a band gap decrease from 2.7 eV to 2.3 eV, suggesting enhanced electronic conductivity and increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus and S. pneumoniae), Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli and K. pneumoniae), and fungi (C. albicans) were all tested for antibacterial activity using BO and SABO. With minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values of 800 and 1000 g/mL, respectively, SABO showed more activity in the zone of inhibition than the other nanoparticles. Furthermore, the anticancer activity of BO and SABO against HT-29 colorectal cancer cells showed greater efficacy for SABO, with a lower IC50 concentration of 8.1 ?g/mL. These findings suggest that SABO could serve as a multifunctional antimicrobial and anticancer agent in the biomedical field. 2026 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Gifting is a universal phenomenon. It is deeply connected with history, human culture, social interactions, and economic activities. This study aims to look at the work of various researchers on online gifting. The keywords (gift OR gifts) AND (online OR electronic OR e-commerce OR virtual) were used on the Scopus Database. Bibliometric analysis was conducted on 397 relevant publications, which were filtered and selected from the list of 1398 documents. Analysis through Term co-occurrence map, Network visualization map of terms in title/abstract fields, and Topic trends, among others, was done. Four primary clusters were found in the Term co-occurrence map as well as Network Visualization Map Most of the research was from the USA and China. The multi-disciplinary element of gifting is visible in the analysis. Some of the emerging topics were virtual reality, live streaming, social networking, advertising, and online shopping. The impact of gifts in promotions and marketing showed the potential of gifts as a major tool for marketers. <text>Gift-giving is universal human behavior. It has been extensively studied for its cultural, psychological, and economic significance. This study aims to showcase the efforts of various researchers and the journals that share their work with readers. It looks at publication trends, areas of research, and research patterns based on bibliographic analysis using data mining. 86 articles from Scopus were analyzed. Various techniques like three-field plot, bibliographic coupling of documents, term co-occurrence maps, bar charts, line graphs were used. The findings reveal an increasing trend in publications and citations. The leading contributions are from the United States, United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Notable emerging topics include virtual gifting, impression management, joint gift-giving, and the influence of live-streaming platforms. Term co-occurrence and bibliographic coupling analyses identified major areas of focus, such as consumer behavior, cultural values, and peer dynamics. These insights demonstrate the evolution of gift-giving studies, particularly the shift toward online and digital contexts. These findings will help future researchers by providing them with a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in Gift-Giving behavior. <text>Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have become indispensable tools for managing complex supply chains in the automotive industry. This paper provides an in-depth examination of ERP-based supply chain integration within the four-wheeler automobile sector, focusing on its impact, challenges, and best practices. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and case studies, we analyze the key components of ERP systems, their integration with supply chain processes, and the benefits they offer to automotive manufacturers. Additionally, we explore the role of ERP in enhancing operational efficiency, inventory management, demand forecasting, and customer satisfaction. Furthermore, we discuss the challenges associated with ERP implementation and provide recommendations for successful integration and optimization of ERP systems in the four-wheeler automobile industry. 2024 IEEE.</text>

<text>In this chapter, the researcher studies how motion analytics enabled by smart sensing and data modeling provides an effective way of predictive maintenance and managing assets within industrial systems. It talks about how time based diagnostics and anomaly detection algorithms in the past time along with the history trends could be used to predict machine failures even before it has happened. The combination of machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT) platforms is stressed as one of the enablers of real- time decision making and low rates of downtimes. Such implementation issues as data quality, sensor calibration, system scalability are also tackled in this chapter. It lays stress on the importance of motion analytics with respect to reliable and efficient planning of lifecycle management and key assets. 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>Laboratory experimentation for bed shear stress distribution has been carried out in two sets of meandering channels. The channels have crossover angles of 110 and 60 constructed by sine-generated curves over a flume of 4 m width. Variations in bed roughness were studied for the meandering main channel. Bed shear stress distribution across a meandering length for the 110 and 60 channels was examined for different sinuosities and roughnesses. The boundary shear stress study illustrated the position of maximum shear along the apex section and across the meandering path. These variations were observed for different flow depths. A comparison of the bed shear among the three experimental channels was conducted, and the results were analyzed. 2024, IWA Publishing. All rights reserved.</text>

<text>Built-up areas are ever-increasing in nature to cater to the growing population's needs due to the migration of people to urban areas. Indian cities are under stress due to unplanned developmental activities. Land use and the land cover pattern are critical to maintaining the balance of various resources. In this study, Spatio-temporal changes have been mapped from 1989 to 2022 for the Bengaluru urban region. Geospatial techniques have been adopted to map land use, land cover changes and urban growth. Passive remote sensing data sets, which are freely available, were used in this study. QGIS and ESRI's ArcGIS software packages analysed the satellite images. Vegetation indices such as the Normalised vegetation index (NDVI), Normalised Difference Water index (NDWI), and Normalised difference Built-up index (NDBI) have been used along with supervised and unsupervised classification techniques. Images were classified into water bodies, vegetation, built-up area and others. It has been observed that there is an increase in the built-up area decrease in vegetation and water bodies. As per this study, policymakers and society need to consider the conservation of natural resources and developmental activities for sustainable development. 2023 Author(s).</text>

<text>The present article aims to study the propagation behavior of Rayleigh-type waves using the nonlocal theory of elasticity in a layered structure constituted of a gradient transversely isotropic stratum perfectly bonded with a gradient monoclinic substrate. At first a constitutive relation is established for the assumed layered structure. Thereafter in view of suitable boundary conditions dispersion relation for the propagation of Rayleigh-type wave is obtained by considering a complex quantity wavenumber. The obtained result well agrees with the classical result and therefore validates the present study. The phase velocities and the attenuation coefficient for the Rayleigh-type wave propagation are numerically computed for the materials CdSe and LiNbO3; and the same are illustrated graphically. A significant effect of the affecting parameters on the propagation and the attenuation curves are depicted against the wavenumber. Comparative analysis of the influence of these parameters on the propagation and attenuation of Rayleigh-type waves is marked distinctly which serves as a salient feature of the present study. The techniques utilised the present problem and the obtained results may find potential application in various aspects. 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to SocietItaliana di Fisica and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.</text>

<text>The role of women in food and agricultural development in India is vital as it has an essential impact on the country's agricultural development. Despite all the contributions, they often face major obstacles, such as limited access to resources such as land, credit, innovation, and technology, and addressing these barriers is important. In this chapter, the authors have examined areas and levels of farm women's participation, such as the crops they grow, post- harvest activities, the workload they carry, and, despite all the struggles, how the women are underestimated. Their contribution is not limited to crop cultivation but also includes dairy, poultry, fishing, aquaculture, and forestry such as the wood processing sector. Due to men moving towards urban areas for better jobs and quality of life, women in rural areas are pressured to work in the fields; due to this, agriculture is feminized, and women shoulder a heavier workload than men. The underrepresentation of women is also seen in the employment rate and the pay they receive during seasonal, non- seasonal, and part- time employment. 2024, IGI Global. All rights reserved.</text>

<text>The ground surface changes from undisturbed soils with a natural plant covering to disturbed soils as urbanisation and population pressure increase, amplifying the rapid expansion of impervious surfaces in cities. Without adequate stormwater controls, these impervious surfaces alter the hydrologic cycle by lowering infiltration rates and raising runoff peak flows and volumes. Bengaluru city experiences a more temperate climate throughout the year, and the heavy destruction caused by rains is Indias IT hub. Numerous drains get submerged and saturated after only two days of excessive rain, symbolizing the necessity of harvesting techniques in collecting rainwater and reducing runoff volume. Built-up area dynamics were observed from supervised classification and rainfall data collected from the IMD. Annual collectable rainwater was calculated considering the different cumulative rainfall frequencies, i.e. (25/50/75) %. The overall volume of containers was calculated considering different return periods of (5/10/20) years along with (10/20/30) minute rainfall duration. A 45.7% and 25.8% runoff volume reduction (%) was seen in the study area by considering two cases of maximum daily rainfall and maximum average monthly precipitation, respectively. The calculations indicated a significant capacity for collecting rainwater from impervious surfaces is achievable. <text>Heavy metal pollution has emerged as a prominent threat in recent times with high metal levels widely reported in species across ecosystems. The threat of rapid biomagnification is particularly enhanced in species such as olive ridley turtles, which occupy a higher trophic position, increasing their exposure to heavy metals. In the current study, we examine the presence of heavy metals in adults, in-utero and oviposited eggs, hatchlings as well as the nesting beach at two important olive ridley rookeries in India Devi and Rushikulya. We collected muscle and in-utero egg samples from stranded adult olive ridleys at the two rookeries, while oviposited eggs, hatchling and sand samples were obtained from hatchery nests at Rushikulya. We compared concentrations of 9 heavy metals (Cr, Mn, Ni, Co, Cu, As, Se, Cd, and Pb) across different sample types in an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS). We found mean metal concentrations of sand to be highest among all samples analysed, followed by muscle tissue. Arsenic was the most prominent metal in adult turtles suggesting bioaccumulation, while Selenium was found to be higher in egg components. Heavy metals (HM) were found in-utero eggs, providing evidence of maternal transfer. Most HMs were similar for in-utero and oviposited eggs, though a few metals were higher in in-utero eggs suggesting potential leaching out during development. Sand and hatchling samples show a high correlation for Mn suggesting potential environmental transfer. These findings emphasise the risk posed by heavy metals to adult and early life stages of olive ridleys and highlight the urgent need for mitigation of these threats. <text>The absence of a fundamental time parameter in canonical quantum gravity is motivating the search for internal clocks by which evolution is defined relationally. While formal solutions are provided classical deparametrization schemes they often rely on semiclassical limits or fixed foliations that break general covariance. In this work, a canonical framework is constructed where time emerges dynamically as a stochastic degree of freedom, identified with a massless scalar field whose conserved momentum current defines a relational foliation. Unlike semiclassical stochastic gravity approaches where noise is introduced externally, here the stochasticity arises from coarse-graining of unresolved transverse-traceless graviton modes, leading to an intrinsic, dynamically coupled stochastic clock field. This leads to a diffusion-like broadening of the wavefunctional across neighboring clock slices, offering a novel stochastic phenomenology of the WheelerDeWitt equation. The resulting evolution remains consistent with hypersurface-deformation algebra in an ensemble sense, while introducing an intrinsic probabilistic nature to relational time. This work thus establishes the theoretical foundation for future applications in quantum cosmology and the emergence of classicality from quantum gravitational systems. 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.</text>

<text>We studied the late-time acceleration scenarios using a quintessence field initially trapped in a metastable false vacuum state. The false vacuum has non-zero vacuum energy and can drive exponential expansion if not coupled with gravity. Upon decay of the false vacuum, the quintessence field is released and begins to evolve. We assumed conditions where the effective scalar potential gradient must satisfy ?Veff>A, characterised by a pressure term approximately ?p/p>O(?) invoking the string swampland criteria. We then derived the effective potential of the scalar with an upper bound on the coupling constant ?<0.6. Further analysis revealed that Veff shows a slow-roll behaviour for 0.1>?>-0.04 in the effective dark energy equation of state (EoS) -0.8</text>

<text>We construct an analytic f(R) gravity model that unifies early-time inflation with late-time cosmic acceleration within a single covariant framework. At high curvature, the model reproduces a Starobinsky-like inflationary plateau, while at low curvature it asymptotes to a stable dark energy-dominated phase. In the scalar-tensor representation, this construction yields a hilltop-type potential in the Jordan frame, which maps to an exponential potential in the Einstein frame. To account for radiative effects, we introduce a logarithmic correction to the Einstein-frame potential inspired by one-loop effective field theory, producing a late-time flattening without requiring fine-tuning. The resulting scalaron dynamics reduce the effective mass to O(H0), inducing a thawing regime that deviates from a cosmological constant at the sub-percent levels. A joint background likelihood analysis using Pantheon+SH0ES and BAO+CC datasets (within the CPL parametrization) yields H0=73.40.6 km/s/Mpc and ?m=0.2530.007, consistent with local expansion rate measurements. The best-fit scalar field parameters are ?0?0.027MPl and ??0.010MPl, corresponding to a present-day dark energy equation of state w0?-0.985. While compatible with ?CDM within current observational bounds, the model satisfies GR recovery at low curvature and exhibits attractor-like behavior, thereby minimizing sensitivity to initial conditions. <text>In the present work, we have synthesized Chitosan-CuO-MgO nanocomposites by incorporating CuO and MgO nanoparticles in chitosan matrix. Copper oxide and magnesium oxide nanoparticles synthesized by precipitation method were characterized by X-ray diffraction and the diffraction patterns confirmed the monoclinic and cubic crystalline structures of CuO and MgO nanoparticles respectively. Chitosan-CuO-MgO composite films were prepared using solution- cast method with different concentrations of CuO and MgO nanoparticles (15 - 50 wt % with respect to chitosan) and characterized by XRD, FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The X-ray diffraction pattern shows that the crystallinity of the chitosan composite increases with increase in nanoparticle concentration. FTIR spectra confirm the chemical interaction between chitosan and metal oxide nanoparticles (CuO and MgO). UV absorbance of chitosan nanocomposites were up to 17% better than pure chitosan, thus confirming its UV shielding properties. The mechanical and electrical properties of the prepared composites are in progress. 2018 Author(s).</text>

<text>Expanding potential of coffee consumers to seek out the freshest and best flavors is a cause for the rise of specialty coffee inthe market. Specialty coffee is grown and harvestedmaintaining an emphasis on quality and clarity of flavor, whereas commodity coffee is harvested for caffeine content. Within those inclusive categories, arabica and robusta are the two types of main branches of coffee that weencounter in the coffee market. Specialty coffees differ significantly from conventional coffees in that they are cultivated at higher altitudes, can be traced, and are professionally processed after being harvested. The quality is constantly examined and understood at every stage, from growth to brewing. Green arabica quality is assessed by counting the defective beans present in the sample. These defects can be primary (Category I) or secondary (Category II). If the primary defects are null and less than five secondary defects, coffee is said to be a specialty.Prior research has been done on classifying the coffee species and differentiating good beans from bad beans. Our research involves the combination of machine learning like K-NN and deep learning convolutional neural networks for classifying specialty coffee from commodity type using computer vision.
