                <text>Psychological autopsy studies are a method to understand the causes of equivocal deaths. Suicides and homicide-suicide are the result of various events. The understanding of an individual's life before their death, by interviewing the next of kin, provides some insight into the causes. The research articles dealing with psychological autopsy studies through case studies of suicide or homicide-suicide instances, obtained from different search engines, shed light on the mental health, Alcohol use disorder (AUD), and Drug use disorders (DUD) of individuals before death. The primary characteristic of suicides in a population of late twenties to early fifties was romantic relationship conflicts. In contrast, suicides in the teenage years and early twenties were characterized primarily by a lack of familial acceptability and, to a lesser extent, self-acceptance. Simultaneously, there was a high risk of suicidal behavior and commission of acts among the DUD patients, getting treatment without psychiatric diagnosis and therapy. Over time, the psychological autopsy technique has shown to be quite helpful in determining the risk factors for suicidal behavior. The study helps to develop multiple rehabilitation and mental awareness that need to be created among various populations so that the suicide and homicide-suicide rates can be reduced.  2025 Elsevier Ltd and Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine</text>

                <text>Comorbidities related to cardiovascular disease (CVD) and environmental pollution have emerged as serious concerns. The exposome concept underscores the cumulative impact of environmental factors, including climate change, air pollution, chemicals like PFAS, and heavy metals, on cardiovascular health. Chronic exposure to these pollutants contributes to inflammation, oxidative stress, and endothelial dysfunction, further exacerbating the global burden of CVDs. Specifically, carbon monoxide (CO), ozone, particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), heavy metals, pesticides, and micro- and nanoplastics have been implicated in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality through various mechanisms. PM2.5 exposure leads to inflammation and metabolic disruptions. Ozone and CO exposure induce oxidative stress and vascular dysfunction. NO2 exposure contributes to cardiac remodeling and acute cardiovascular events, and sulfur dioxide and heavy metals exacerbate oxidative stress and cellular damage. Pesticides and microplastics pose emerging risks linked to inflammation and cardiovascular tissue damage. Monitoring and risk assessment play a crucial role in identifying vulnerable populations and assessing pollutant impacts, considering factors like age, gender, socioeconomic status, and lifestyle disorders. This review explores the impact of cardiovascular disease, discussing risk-assessment methods, intervention strategies, and the challenges clinicians face in addressing pollutant-induced cardiovascular diseases. It calls for stronger regulatory policies, public health interventions, and green urban planning.  2025 by the authors.</text>

                <text>Pheromones are chemical signals that are given off by creatures to communicate with other conspecifics. Because of their influence on animal behavior and relationships throughout the animal world, pheromones have fascinated scientists for decades. The newest findings and new perspectives on the intriguing field of pheromones are synthesized in this thorough review article. We investigate the many roles played by pheromones, from mating attraction and territorial marking to alarm signaling and social organization. The chemical diversity of pheromones is explored in depth in this paper, highlighting the variety of substances used by different animals as messengers. We go over the processes involved in pheromone detection and processing to help understand how chemosensory receptors and brain circuits interact in complex ways. Additionally, we discuss the role that pheromones play in ecology and evolution by promoting speciation and adaptation. This review emphasizes both the new research on pheromones in humans as well as their function in the animal world. We investigate the data supporting human pheromones and their possible impact on social and reproductive behaviors. The review aims to offer a detailed exploration and insight into the role and effects of pheromones in the natural world. This includes examining the chemical essence of pheromones and their functionality as communication signals across different species, investigating the specificity of these chemicals to certain species and how non-specific pheromones come about, and delving into the evolution of pheromones with a focus on the physiological and evolutionary mechanisms that drive communication. Additionally, the review seeks to understand the role pheromones play in pest management, specifically how species-specific pheromones can be utilized in eco-friendly pest control strategies. It will also explore the enigmatic impact pheromones have on the behavior and interactions within and among species. Drawing from a variety of sources, such as scientific research articles, studies on pheromone evolution, and articles on pheromone application in pest management, the review aspires to synthesize existing knowledge to provide a comprehensive overview of pheromones and their intriguing influence in nature. This study intends to not only summarize existing information but also encourage further research, shedding light on these cryptic chemical signals and their tremendous influence on the biology and behavior of species. In addition to this, understanding and preserving these forests is important for the assessment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as SDG 1,2,3,6,8,11,12,13,14 and15. This review paper explores how the integration of Hyperspectral Image (HSI) technology and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms is helpful in mangrove conservation and SDGs assessment. HSI in mangrove research allows detailed analysis of tree health, species types and environmental stress factors (includes salinity levels, waterlogging, soil erosion, pollution, habitat fragmentation, disturbances from human activities etc.) with enhanced spectral and spatial resolution. Combining DL algorithms like Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with HSI data automates mangrove mapping, detects change in mangrove health, estimates carbon sequestration and manages ecological zone. Rich spectral information from HSI empowers DL algorithms to identify patterns and features for accurate and efficient classification tasks in both supervised and unsupervised methods. This review aims to comprehensively summarize the research efforts reported in monitoring mangrove ecosystems through varied remote sensing approaches, algorithms and their support towards SDGs assessment. HSI and DL together offer a powerful approach for researchers, environmentalists and climate activists working towards sustainable development objectives. This paper not only focuses on mangrove conservation but also addresses challenges associated with integrating technologies such as data processing complexities and the need for specialized expertise. This study outlines advancements in HSI technology, DL applications and future directions to drive sustainable management strategies for mangrove ecosystems.                 <text>Purpose: The metaverse represents a rapidly evolving digital environment that blurs the lines between physical and virtual reality, and it offers unique opportunities and challenges for businesses and marketers. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive review of metaverse marketing research. The present study reviews the literature on metaverse to identify theories, contexts, gaps and methodologies using TCCM framework (Theories, Contexts, Characteristics and Methodology) to set a future research agenda. Design/methodology/approach: A review was conducted of 179 English papers related to metaverse marketing from 2010 to 2023 from the Scopus and Web of Science core collection after applying relevant filters using the TCCM framework. Findings: The findings suggest that the studies have inadequately distinguished metaverse as something that only builds interactive experiences that combine the virtual environment and the real world, whereas the theoretical domain of metaverse is dominated by studies in various domains. The applicability of metaverse marketing research is pertinent in various domains of the management field. The study explores various facets of metaverse marketing to capture its dynamic nature. Research limitations/implications: By presenting a comprehensive review, themes and knowledge gaps of the research on metaverse marketing, this study will enhance research output and provide valuable tools for future research on metaverse. Practical implications: By analyzing metaverse in marketing, the companies will be able to use this concept effectively to formulate innovative marketing strategies and personalized consumer experiences and understand consumer behavior. Furthermore, research into metaverse marketing will be helpful in offering predictions about future trends in consumer behavior, technology adoption and virtual world development.                 <text>Background: Couple interventions focus on resolving relationship issues and improving partners' intimacy. Several intervention models are used on different occasions to deal with the issues. The present systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the effectiveness of such couple interventions dealing with marital distress. Methods: Using the PRISMA guidelines for reporting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, a search was carried out to identify published articles in the areas of study. The meta-analysis investigated the effectiveness of couple interventions by comparing the post-intervention assessments of the experimental and control groups. Results: The systematic review helped to identify twelve empirical studies published within the last ten years in the following databases: ScienceDirect, EBSCO, APA PsycINFO, NCBI, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. Meta-analysis showed a statistically significant overall effect size (Cohen's d = 0.85, 95% CI: 0.56-1.14). Cochran's Q showed that there was a substantial difference between the studies. There were signs of publication bias. Conclusion: The current study revealed an overall large effect size, indicating that different couple interventions had a noticeable impact on distressed couples who received interventions as opposed to couples who did not receive any interventions.  2025 Joesph et al.</text>

                <text>Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are small, positively charged biomolecules produced by various organisms such as animals, microbes, and plants. These AMPs play a significant role in defense mechanisms and protect from adverse conditions. The emerging problem of drug resistance in microbes poses a global health challenge in treating diseases. This plant-based antimicrobial peptide is a promising candidate for fighting against drug-resistant microbes. The PAMPs process specific key properties, proving their efficacy as antimicrobial agents against a broad spectrum of microbes such as Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and fungi. Extensive research on PAMPs has explored their potential as plant growth regulators and therapeutic agents. Their diverse mode of action on microbes encouraged their application in food industries. These AMPs play a significant role in defense mechanisms and protect from adverse conditions. The emerging problem of drug resistance in microbes poses a global health challenge in treating diseases. This plant-based antimicrobial peptide is a promising candidate for fighting against drug-resistant microbes. The PAMPs process specific key properties, proving their efficacy as antimicrobial agents against a broad spectrum of microbes such as Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and fungi. Extensive research on PAMPs has explored their potential as plant growth regulators and therapeutic agents. Their diverse mode of action on microbes encouraged their application in food industries. ThePAMPs are isolated and purified from various plant species organs such as roots, shoots, leaves, flowers, and seeds. These are bioactive molecules with significant stability, and low toxicity has encouraged their application as food additives.                 <text>The infant food market has expanded rapidly over the past two decades. However, the industry faces significant challenges, including concerns over the health effects of infant food additives and issues with food safety. However, new evidences suggest that certain food additives, such as those used to preserve and transport infant formula to keep it fresh for longer, should be avoided. Science into the effects of additives on human behavior makes up a sizable sector of the additives market. Problems such as hypernatremic dehydration, malnutrition, and obesity in infants are directly linked to faulty formula production. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has established the toxicity types and chemical tests necessary for evaluating the safety of food additives and GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) compounds. These tests are crucial in understanding the food safety aspects of food additives. The health effects of different types of food additives on infants are discussed in this context. The article gives an outline of various national and global agencies that provides recommendations and standards to gauge the quality of baby food. The immunological responses, allergic reaction pathways and other related health hazards among the infants and young children caused by the food additive are discussed in this article.                 <text>Diploptera punctata is a viviparous cockroach and secretes a concoction of glycosylated proteins as a basis of nutrition for developing embryos termed as cockroach milk. The milk proteins were identified as the lipocalin-like milk proteins (Lili-Mip) which are present in the brood sac of the gestated female D. punctata. Blotting techniques and RNA transcriptome assays have reported analogous Lili-Mip in the midgut of D. puncta embryos, which proved the ingestion during development inside brood sac. Thermodynamics and kinetic studies augmented the stability of the milk crystals and their controlled release mechanism of sustenance. Gene ontogeny reported the evolution of the ovoviviparous to viviparous due to selective pressures posed during the development stages of the embryos. Molecular simulation modelling studied unveiled the binding efficacies of the milk protein to build strong affiliates to the ligands to form a stable milk protein complex. Ahead of its nutritional benefits, cockroach milk also offers environmental advantages compared to traditional dairy and plant-based milk production. Nevertheless, there are still important hurdles to overcome to include this unconventional superfood as staple in human diets which are also discussed in the review.                 <text>As solar energy is intermittent, it must be stored in addition to being harvested, opening one of the most potential areas for powering future technology. The devices that have the ability to collect and store energy are called Photosupercapacitors. Owing to their dual purpose, photosupercapacitors are gaining increasing attention as potential components for emerging wearable and portable electronics. These devices have advanced significantly; among them, Perovskite-based Photosupercapacitors have reported greater efficiency so far. When required, this integrated device, which consists of a perovskite solar cell unit and a supercapacitor, can supply reliable off-grid power to external loads and charge itself in an illuminated space. This review primarily focuses on various types of Perovskite-based Photosupercapacitors that have emerged so far, significantly discussing the choice of material for each layer, the technique of connecting the solar cell and supercapacitor, the performance of each part, and the overall powerpack performance. The present review gives a broad outlook on challenges and future perspectives involved in the development of these devices.                 <text>Abstract: The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) plays a pivotal role in several energy storage and conversion technologies, including metal-air batteries, microbial fuel cells, and low-temperature hydrogen and alcohol fuel cells. Fuel cells, in particular, have gained significant traction as a feasible alternative energy source due to their efficiency, cleanliness, adaptability, and ability to reuse exhaust heat. However, the complex nature of ORR requires highly efficient electrocatalysts for optimal fuel cell performance. While Pt-based electrocatalysts are widely regarded as the most suitable for both the cathode and anode in fuel cells, their high cost, scarcity, and susceptibility to fuel crossover have driven the search for alternative ORR catalysts. In this context, carbon materials have emerged as promising candidates due to their low cost, long-term stability, and strong electrocatalytic activity. Recent advancements in biomass-derived carbon nanostructures align with the global push for sustainable energy and a pollution-free environment. This review examines carbon structures derived from the carbonization of plant and animal biomass and evaluates their performance as noble metal supports, non-noble metal electrocatalysts, and metal-free electrocatalysts for ORR.                 <text>Abstract: Camptothecin (CPT), an indole alkaloid popular for its anticancer property, is considered the third most promising drug after taxol and famous alkaloids from Vinca for the treatment of cancer in humans. Camptothecin was first identified in Camptotheca acuminata followed by several other plant species and endophytic fungi. Increased harvesting driven by rising global demand is depleting the availability of elite plant genotypes, such as Camptotheca acuminata and Nothapodytes nimmoniana, crucial for producing alkaloids used in treating diseases like cancer. Conservation of these genotypes for the future is imperative. Therefore, research on different plant tissue culture techniques such as cell suspension culture, hairy roots, adventitious root culture, elicitation strategies, and endophytic fungi has been adopted for the production of CPT to meet the increasing demand without affecting the source plants existence. Currently, another strategy to increase camptothecin yield by genetic manipulation is underway. The present review discusses the plants and endophytes that are employed for camptothecin production and throws light on the plant tissue culture techniques for the regeneration of plants, callus culture, and selection of cell lines for the highest camptothecin production. The review further explains the simple, accurate, and cost-effective extraction and quantification methods. There is enormous potential for the sustainable production of CPT which could be met by culturing of suitable endophytes or plant cell or organ culture in a bioreactor scale production. Also, different gene editing tools provide opportunities for engineering the biosynthetic pathway of CPT, and the overall CPT production can be improved.                 <text>Cinnamon, an Indigenous species, is extensively used as a folk medicine in India, China, and other parts of the world due to its therapeutic potential inherited via the latent chemical composition. The vital component presented is cinnamaldehyde, along with cinnamic acid and cinnamate, which contributes to being an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, and anticancer agent together with the capability to control neurological syndromes like Alzheimer's and even Parkinson's diseases. Given the importance of the anticarcinogenic properties of cinnamon on various cell strains concerning the curable effect, this review focuses on evaluating different extraction methods like steam distillation, Soxhlet extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, and more, in addition to a summary of new technologies like gas chromatography, HPLC, DART-MS, and NMR, etc. which paved the way in characterizing the chemical composition of cinnamon. Cinnamaldehyde showed its apoptosis through various mechanistic pathways on an adequate number of cell lines and antineoplastic potential on specific multifaceted cancerous cells, which advocates for continued research and investment in this vital area of drug discovery and suggestions for future scope.  2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH.</text>

                <text>Tuberculosis caused by the obligate intracellular pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is one among the prime causes of death worldwide. An urgent remedy against tuberculosis is of paramount importance in the current scenario. However, the complex nature of this appalling disease contributes to the limitations of existing medications. The quest for better treatment approaches is driving the research in the field of host epigenomics forward in context with tuberculosis. The interplay between various host epigenetic factors and the pathogen is under investigation. A comprehensive understanding of how Mycobacterium tuberculosis orchestrates such epigenetic factors and favors its survival within the host is in increasing demand. The modifications beneficial to the pathogen are reversible and possess the potential to be better targets for various therapeutic approaches. The mechanisms, including histone modifications, DNA methylation, and miRNA modification, are being explored for their impact on pathogenesis.                 <text>The synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds using heterogeneous catalysis is a topic of significant interest in organic synthesis and chemical research. Heterogeneous catalysis offers several advantages over homogeneous catalysis, including easier separation and recovery of the catalyst, reduced waste generation, and potentially higher stability and reusability. In this review, the pivotal role of heterogeneous catalysis in synthesizing nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds is explored. Various types of heterocycles and the specific applications of these compounds in drug discovery and material development are discussed in detail. This review discusses various examples of heterogeneous catalysts employed in the synthesis of nitrogen-containing heterocycles, including metal oxides, supported metals, metal nanoparticles, zeolites, and other porous materials. Emphasis is placed on the mechanistic insights and reaction pathways facilitated by different catalysts. Additionally, recent advancements and innovations in the field are discussed, including novel catalyst designs, green chemistry approaches, and emerging trends in catalytic materials. Photosupercapacitors are combined solar cell-supercapacitor devices which can provide next-generation portable powerpacks. Owing to advantages like economic and environmental friendliness, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) offer vast potential for being integrated with energy accumulation devices like supercapacitors. Over the past few years, various types of harvesting cum storage power devices combining DSSCs and supercapacitors have been reported. Over time the devices have improved in both performance and stability providing a broad outlook to possible future advancements including commercialization. We still have many challenges that are yet to be resolved in order to take these powerpacks to the next level of applications in portable and wearable electronics and communication devices. In this context, a detailed analysis and comparison of already reported photo-powered integrated supercapacitors based on DSSCs would give further insights into future advancements. In this review, we have discussed the development of photosupercapacitors, their fabrication strategies, and different materials used as counter electrodes, electrolytes, and dye sensitizers. This review focuses on ?-solanine, a glycoalkaloid primarily derived from potato tubers and nightshade family plants, recognized for its diverse biological activities, including anti-allergic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and antibiotic properties. Recently, ?-solanine has gained attention as a potential anticancer agent. Utilizing resources like PubMed/MedLine, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, Scopus, the American Chemical Society, Google Scholar, Springer Link, Wiley, and various commercial websites, this review consolidates two decades of research on ?-solanine's anticancer effects and mechanisms against nine different cancers, highlighting its role in modulating various signaling pathways. It also discusses ?-solanine's potential as a lead compound in cancer therapy. The abundant availability of potato peel, often discarded as waste or sold cheaply, is suggested as a sustainable source for large-scale ?-solanine extraction. The study concludes that ?-solanine holds promise as a standalone or adjunctive cancer treatment. However, further research is necessary to optimize this lead compound and mitigate its toxicity through various strategies.  2024 The Authors.
