ESIPT-AIE Active Schiff BaseFluorescent Organic Nanoparticles Based on 2-(2-(4-(4-bromo Phenyl) Thiazol-2-yl)Vinyl)Phenol (BTVP) Utilized as a Multi-Functional Fluorescent Probe
The present study reports the synthesis and characterization of Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE) Excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) active 2-(2-(4-(4-bromo phenyl) thiazol-2-yl)vinyl)phenol (BTVP). The AIE properties of BTVP in Acetone/Water solution are investigated, and fluorescent organic nanoparticles (FONs) (sizes ranging from 150200nm) are preparedin various water fractions (fH2O). The established visco-chromic property suggests that the restriction of intramolecular rotation is responsible for the AIE-ESIPT behavior of the molecule, providing a means to sense viscosity. The synthesized FONs act as fluorescence chemosensors to detect Al3+ ions via a photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mechanism. Job's, BenesiHildebrand method, and 1HNMR titration confirm the 1:1 binding of BTVP with the metal ion. Studies on the emission concerning pH reveal the high stability of FONs over a broad range of pH, and a gradual change in the emission wavelength for the BTVP-Al3+ complex (BTVP-Al) is observed, providing a means to sense pH ranging from 28. The solid-state photoluminescence of BTVP is used for latent fingerprint detection, demonstrating its efficiency in detecting both primary and secondary information. Additionally, both BTVP FNOs and BTVP-Al are used in cell imaging, where specific nuclear staining with BTVP-Al and cytoplasm staining with BTVP are observed. 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH. -
Synergistic effect of metals and cross linkers on surface modification of iron aluminum oxyhydroxide-PVA polymer films for enhanced catalytic activity in transesterification reaction
Iron-incorporated aluminum oxyhydroxide polyvinyl alcohol films (Fe-Al-PVA) were synthesized using the solgel method. The influence of cross-linking agents on the aluminum oxyhydroxide films was investigated by incorporating glutaraldehyde into the synthesized films. Various characterization techniques were employed to understand the physico-chemical properties that affect the catalytic and adsorptive behavior of the self-supported films. The liquid phase transesterification of terpenes was used to test the catalytic activity of the films for the synthesis of industrially important terpene esters. The products were analyzed using GC, GCMS, and NMR techniques, and optimization studies were carried out under different experimental conditions. The reaction scope was expanded to a wider range of organic compounds, and a possible reaction mechanism was proposed. Causality and volatility spillovers of banks' stock price returns on BSE Bankex returns
This paper investigates the causal relationships and volatility spillovers between the BSE Bankex index and the stock prices of five major Indian banks (Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, and SBI). Daily data from January 2, 2018 to March 8, 2023 are used, and statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, Unit Root test, Cointegration test, Ganger Causality test, OLS regression, and GARCH model are employed. The study finds bidirectional causal relationships between the bank stocks and BSE Bankex returns, suggesting that the movement of the bank stocks significantly affects the overall market returns and vice versa. The study also finds significant volatility spillovers between the bank stocks and BSE Bankex returns, implying that the shocks in the bank stocks affect the market returns and vice versa. The study's outcomes have practical implications for investors and policymakers. Investors can use the results to make informed investment decisions in the Indian stock market, while policymakers can use the findings to monitor the financial stability of the banking sector and design appropriate policy interventions to address any potential financial crises. Overall, the study's findings suggest that policymakers should proactively monitor and manage market risks to safeguard overall financial stability. 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC. -

Khadi Textiles, Women and Rural Development: An Analysis from Past to Present
The paper aims at bringing out the cultural, economic, and political importance that Khadi has for India from pre-colonial times, during the colonial rule and after independence till the present times. The paper brings out Khadis potential in rural development by solving the pressing concerns of unemployment and working conditions in developing countries like India. In spite of this, Khadis potential at rural development is subsided by the contemporary threats the industry faces due to the different agents of neoliberalism, discussed in the paper. The questionnaire report on workers collected at the Cheriyakonni production unit and information collected at the District Project Office Trivandrum; brings out that rural women are the largest workforce victims of these threats, as the industry is slowly showing signs of degradation. Methodology: The research paper is based on both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Data is collected from Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Project Office Thiruvananthapuram through interviews. Multiple solutions and stability analysis in MHD non-Newtonian nanofluid slip flow with convective and passive boundary condition: Heat transfer optimization using RSM-CCD
This study explores the effect of Williamson nanofluid in the presence of radiation and chemical reaction caused by stretching or shrinking a surface with convective boundary conditions. After implementing two-component model and Lie group theory, the transformed ODEs are solved using the RungeKutta DormandPrince (RKDP) shooting approach technique. The dual solutions are predicted for certain range of physical nanofluid parameters, such as Williamson parameter ((Formula presented.)), stretching/shrinking parameter ((Formula presented.)), and suction parameter ((Formula presented.)) with different slip (Formula presented.) and magnetic M parameters. Contour plots are generated for the stable branch of the Nusselt number ((Formula presented.)) for different combinations, providing insights into the heat transfer characteristics. The eigenvalue problem is solved in order to predict flow stability. The optimization of heat transfer in nanoliquid is conducted by RSM-CCD. The resulting quadratic correlation enables the prediction of the optimal Nusselt number for (Formula presented.), (Formula presented.), and (Formula presented.). Impact of Financial Literacy and Behavioural Biases on Investment Decision-making
Investors financial literacy entails making sound investment decisions and the behavioural biases or irrational behaviour in decision-making that are collectively formed by heuristic bias, framing effect, cognitive illusions and herd mentality factors. The present study examines the combined impact of financial literacy and behavioural biases on investment decisions. A questionnaire was developed using Likert scaling technique to elicit study variables and collected data was analysed using SEM technique. The results showed that heuristic bias had a significant positive association with the creation of behavioural bias in decision-making. However, the framing effect, cognitive illusions and herd mentality have negative associations in the formation of behavioural biases. Further, investors often practice and follow heuristic biases rather than other irrational techniques for making investment decisions. Therefore, the financial literacy of individual investors has a significant impact on affecting stock market investment decisions. 2021 Fortune Institute of International Business. -
INDUCED REGULAR PERFECT GRAPHS
A graph G is said to be R-perfect if, for all induced subgraphs H of G, the induced regular independence number of each induced subgraph H is equal to its corresponding induced regular cover. Here, the induced regular independence number is the maximum number of vertices in H such that no two belong to the same induced regular subgraph in H, and the induced regular cover of H is the minimum number of induced regular subgraphs in H required to cover the vertex set of H. This article introduces the notion of induced regular perfect graphs or R-perfect graphs through which we study the structural properties of R-perfect graphs and identify a forbidden class of graphs for the same. This further leads to the characterization of R-perfect biconnected graphs. A Low-Complexity Multiplier-Less Filter Bank Based on Modified IFIR for the SDR Channelizer
Digital filter banks are extensively used in an SDR channelizer for channelization. The objective of this research work is to design a low computational complexity FIR filter bank for generating sharp transition width channels for SDR. The design of unified and variable bandwidth channels for SDR using the proposed structure is based on the modified IFIR filter structure and cosine modulation technique (CMT). The performance of the proposed structure is demonstrated with the help of an example. The results show that the multiplier complexity of the proposed structure is less than those of other state-of-the art methods. The optimization techniques are incorporated in this work to further reduce the complexity of the proposed structure. With the help of canonical signed digit (CSD), multi-objective artificial bee colony (MOABC) and shift inclusive differential coefficients (SIDC) common sub-expression elimination (CSE) optimization, the filter used in this structure is made multiplier-less. 2024 IETE. -
Quality of life of children and adolescents living with HIV in India: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Children and adolescents living with HIV (CALHIV) encounters compromised health and well-being especially in developing countries. Understanding the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of CALHIV living in India is vital in planning and developing comprehensive care approach. A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to explore and examine the HRQOL of CALHIV in India. Five electronic databases were searched, retrieving 2,729 citations with a final eight studies that met the inclusion criteria. Methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tools. The included studies predominantly evaluated quality of life using the Paediatric Quality of Life Inventory, with a mean self-reported HRQOL score of 77.62 (95% CI 72.9182.34, I 2 = 93%). HRQOL of CALHIV observed to be better than other chronically ill children. However, CALHIV demonstrated lower HRQOL than the matched general population. Younger age children and boys reported better HRQOL. Poor socio-economic status, immunological status and advanced clinical stages noted to be adversely affecting HRQOL. HRQOL of children reared in institutional care reported to better or in par with family reared children. The review highlights the sparse evidence investigating the HRQOL of children with HIV in India, and the need for further well-designed studies in this population. Unpaid Work by Women: A State-level Analysis of Evidence from Time-use Survey
Low and declining female labour force participation in India over the past two decades has turned attention to the high unpaid work time spent by women. The question, however, remains whether women spend more time on unpaid work because there are not enough jobs or whether it is time spent on unpaid work that is holding them back from participation in the labour force. Against this backdrop, the present article explores Indias nationally representative time-use survey conducted by National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) to estimate factors that explain variations in time spent by women in unpaid work at the state level. The results show that structural transformation, entailing a reduction in employment in agriculture and an increase in the share of industries in state GDP, does not necessarily entail any reduction in unpaid time spent by women if the technology embodied in industrialisation is not gender-friendly. Worryingly, progress in female literacy recorded by states is no guarantee of a reduction in unpaid work by women. However, a gender-friendly atmosphere does make a difference in the reduction in unpaid work reported by women. Similarly, targeted public policy intervention does relax the constraints that women face at home, with a positive effect on unpaid work time. 2024 Institute for Human Development. -
AS-CL IDS: anomaly and signature-based CNN-LSTM intrusion detection system for Internet of Things
In recent years, the internet of things (IoT) has had a significant impact on our daily lives, offering various advantages for improving our quality of life. However, it is crucial to prioritize the security of IoT devices and the protection of user's personal data. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) play a critical role in maintaining data privacy and security. An IoT IDS continuously monitors network activity and identifies potential security risks or attacks targeting IoT devices. While traditional IDS solutions exist, intrusion detection heavily relies on artificial intelligence (AI). AI can greatly enhance the capabilities of IoT IDS through real-time monitoring, precise threat identification, and automatic response capabilities. It is essential to develop and utilize these technologies securely and responsibly to mitigate potential risks and safeguard user privacy. A hybrid IDS was proposed for anomaly-based and signature-based intrusions, leveraging convolutional neural network with long short-term memory (CNN-LSTM). The name of the proposed hybrid model is anomaly and signaturebased CNN-LSTM intrusion detection system (AS-CL IDS). The AS-CL IDS concentrated on two different IoT IDS detection strategies employing a combination of deep learning techniques. The model includes model training and testing as well as data preprocessing. The CIC-IDS 2018, IoT network intrusion dataset, MQTT-IoT-IDS2020, and BoTNeTIoTL01 datasets were used to train and test the AS-CL IDS. The overall performance of the proposed model was assessed using accepted assessment metrics. Despite reducing the number of characteristics, the model achieved 99.81% accuracy. Furthermore, a comparison was made between the proposed model and existing alternative models to demonstrate its productivity. As a result, the proposed model proves valuable for predicting IoT attacks. Return volatility transmission among Asian stock exchanges: Evidence from a heterogeneous market outlook
. This pragmatic research strives to reveal the return volatility transmission throughout Asian stock exchanges, by employing variance decomposition technique of Vector autoregressive (VAR) based framework. Additionally, the current examination exerts a Granger causality approach to detect short-term cause and effect among the stock exchanges. The consequence of volatility spill-over exhibits the dominancy of Indian, Chinese and Japanese exchanges in terms of net volatility transmitter. Further, it is found that Korean, Thai, and Malaysian stock exchanges seem to be net receiver of volatility in Asia. Additionally, the outcome of current investigation reveals neutrality of Bangladeshi and Pakistani stock exchange, as the returns volatility of these stock exchange are not influenced by any other Asian stock exchanges. Furthermore, the result of Granger causality analysis signifies the existence of unidirectional causality among the Asian stock exchanges. In terms of policy implication, it is imperative for investors and policymakers to closely monitor the behaviour of the Japanese stock exchange, as it plays a significant role as a net transmitter of volatility to other stock exchanges in Asia. Operational pattern forecast improvement with outlier detection in metro rail transport system
Transportation is an unavoidable part of every humans life. The mobility system handles the transport of humans from different places using various transport modes. According to a station in a populated area, the main problem is the presence of traffic in peak hours and wasting their valuable time on the road. The only medium which runs above the traffic is metro rails/subways. For these reasons, metro rails become a point of interest for each researchers prophecy and provide valuable recommendations for the smooth functioning of services. Even though, in many cases, the metro systems are affected by abnormal passenger flow. So, this study handles abnormal passenger flow detection and station clustering for the behavior study of a passenger flow system. The research compares outlier detection and anomaly identification for the behavioral analysis of the metro rail passenger flow. The study use data from Kochi Metro Rail Limited for the period 2017 to 2019. Outlier removal has used in passenger flow data before building a forecasting system. In pattern recognition algorithm those components which lie outside the patterns can be considered abnormal (anomaly).The outliers are the component falling apart from the region of interest. SPP1, a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for lung cancer: functional insights through computational studies
NIH reported 128 different types of cancer of which lung cancer is the leading cause of mortality. Globally, it is estimated that on average one in every seventeen hospitalized patients was deceased. There are plenty of studies that have been reported on lung cancer draggability and therapeutics, but yet a protein that plays a central specific to cure the disease remains unclear. So, this study is designed to identify the possible therapeutic targets and biomarkers that can be used for the potential treatment of lung cancers. In order to identify differentially expressed genes, 39 microarray datasets of lung cancer patients were obtained from various demographic regions of the GEO database available at NCBI. After annotating statistically, 6229 up-regulated genes and 10324 down-regulated genes were found. Out of 17 up-regulated genes and significant genes, we selected SPP1 (osteopontin) through virtual screening studies. We found functional interactions with the other cancer-associated genes such as VEGF, FGA, JUN, EGFR, and TGFB1. For the virtual screening studies,198 biological compounds were retrieved from the ACNPD database and docked with SPP1 protein (PDBID: 3DSF). In the results, two highly potential compounds secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (-12.9 kcal/mol), and Hesperidin (-12.0 kcal/mol) showed the highest binding affinity. The stability of the complex was accessed by 100 ns simulation in an SPC water model. From the functional insights obtained through these computational studies, we report that SPP1 could be a potential biomarker and successive therapeutic protein target for lung cancer treatment. 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. -
Nanofluid flow past a vertical plate with nanoparticle aggregation kinematics, thermal slip and significant buoyancy force effects using modified Buongiorno model
The flow of ethylene glycol-based titania nanoliquid passing through a vertical plate induced by significant buoyancy forces (nonlinear convection) is analyzed with quadratic thermal radiation and considering the aggregation kinematics of the nanoparticles. The nanoliquid is modeled accounting for thermo-migration, Brownian motion, and the effectual thermophysical properties. The realistic zero mass flux and thermal slip conditions are considered on the surface of the plate. In addition, the mechanisms of exponential space-related heat source (ESHS) and thermal-based heat source (THS) are incorporated. The finite-difference technique-based bvp5c routine is used to obtain the numerical solution of thenonlinear system of equations. The effects of the parameters are examined on the dimensionless profiles of velocity, temperature, heat transport rate, the volume fraction of nanoparticles, and streamlines. It was found that the aggregation of nanoparticles significantly advances the temperature field while the velocity field is reduced. The ESHS and THS modulations improve the thickness of the thermal boundary layer. The quadratic thermal convection aspect improves the velocity of nanoliquid. Furthermore, the effects of quadratic thermal radiation assist the growth of the thermal boundary layer. Electrochemical sensor based on PVP coated cobalt ferrite/graphite/PANI nanocomposite for the detection of hydrazine
In this study, we developed a multi-layered electrode as an efficient nanocomposite electrochemical sensor for detecting carcinogenic hydrazine in water. Nano-cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) was prepared using poly (vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), mixed with an optimum quantity of graphite and pasted on a stainless-steel current collector. The nanocomposite was further hybridised by electrodepositing with polyaniline (PANI). The obtained composite was characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM, and electrochemical techniques. XRD analysis shows the successful formation of composite from individual precursors. According to SEM, wrinkled and layered morphology for graphite and aggregate clusters for cobalt with spike or tubular structure for polyaniline were observed. When subjected to amperometry current, the prepared electrode showed different peaks for different concentrations of hydrazine, such as 1 ?M to 100 ?M. Cyclic voltammetry studies showed an increase in oxidation and reduction peaks. Comprehensive Review on CdTe Crystals: Growth, Properties, and Photovoltaic Application
Abstract: Despite the deep interest of materials scientists in cadmium telluride (CdTe) crystal growth, there is no single source to which the researchers can turn towards for comprehensive knowledge of CdTe compound semiconductor synthesis protocols, physical properties and performance. Considering this, the present review work focuses to bridge this shortcoming. The direct band gap (Eg) CdTe crystals have been in limelight in photovoltaic application (PV) since the optoelectronic properties such as Eg (1.49 eV), absorption coefficient (~105 cm1), p-type conductivity, carrier concentration (6 1016 cm3) and mobility (1040 cm2/(V s)) at the room temperature are reported that optimum for solar cells. Additionally, Cd-based compounds such as CdTe and CdZnTe have also been widely studied in the field of ? and ?-ray radiation detector, because of their extraordinary advantages like large atomic number, low weight, high mechanical hardness, flexibility, and the availability of the constituent materials. CdTe has demerits like toxicity and high melting temperature, which will complicate the growth of stoichiometric cadmium telluride crystals at high temperatures. In this regard, the review work focused the periodic evolution of the growth protocols until now. The different synthesis methods, characterization, and recent progress in the field of crystalline CdTe were discussed briefly. Important optical and electrical characteristics are presented in the tables and remaining issues have discussed, this could be looked into for further research. Forgiving Behavior among Emerging Adults: The Influence of Religiosity and Spirituality and Personality Traits
The present study aims to examine the three important aspects of emerging adulthood, religiosity and spirituality, personality traits, and forgiveness which bring well-being benefits. It is hypothesized that religiosity and spirituality along with personality traits predict forgiveness among emerging adults. The Neo Five-Factor Inventory (NEO FFI), the Religiosity and Spirituality Scale for Youth (RaSSY), and the Heartland Forgiveness Scale (HFS) were administered to 364 female and 390 male emerging adults (n = 754; mean age = 21 years, SD = 14.88) selected through purposive sampling technique from colleges in Bangalore. Data were analyzed using correlational and hierarchical regression analysis. This study found that religiosity and spirituality and the Big Five personality traits positively correlated with forgiveness whereas all personality traits, except neuroticism, strongly predicted forgiveness more than religiosity and spirituality. These findings suggest that faith-based coping and religious social support in combination with personality traits help emerging adults practice forgiveness in their daily life, leading to further insight into the theories of forgiveness and well-being. 2023 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. -
Effects of Financial and Trade Globalization on Total Factor Productivity Growth in Emerging Economies
This article considers the annual sample from 1984 to 2019 in a panel dataset of 20 emerging economies (i.e. Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey) given by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), to explore the effects of trade and financial globalization on total factor productivity (TFP) growth. It considers domestic credit to the private sector by banks as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), labor force, and total gross fixed capital formation as a percentage of GDP as control variables in the total factor productivity function. The article considers the direct effects of trade and financial globalization. It also checks the moderating impact of domestic credit on TFP. The long-run estimation shows that domestic credit, labor force, and financial globalization reduce TFP growth, whereas investments and trade globalization enhance it. Interestingly, their moderating effect enhances TFP in the long run. The policy implications are also discussed. 2023 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
