Soft Computing Approaches for Maximum Power Point Tracking of Solar PV System
Solar power changes according to irradiance and temperature in a day. A Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm is actually necessary to obtain the maximum power from the photovoltaic (PV) arrangement. In this paper, in order to optimize power and improve the efficiency of PV module with regulated output voltage, soft computing MPPT techniques, flying squirrel search optimization and artificial bee colony methods are implemented on cascaded double voltage lift boost converter. The PV module is subjected to both with and without constraints to analyze the performance of the DC/DC converter, and the comparative outcomes are evaluated for resistive and different types of battery loads at various temperature conditions in MATLAB/Simulink platform. The optimized power is achieved by using artificial bee colony technique with less ripple in the output waveforms at constant 25 C temperature irrespective of the changes in irradiation with the battery load and this can be used for charging of the battery system. 2023 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l.-All rights reserved. -
Solar radiative heat-driven Sakiadis flow of a dusty nanoliquid with Brownian motion and an exponential space-based heat source: KooKleinstreuerLi (KKL) model
The advancement of heat transportation is a significant phenomenon in nuclear reactors, solar collectors, heat exchangers, and electronic coolers; and it can be accomplished by choosing ananofluid as the functional fluid. Nanofluids haveimproved thermophysical properties, dueto theirgreat progress in engineering and industrial applications. Therefore here, the significance of exponential space-related heat source (ESHS) on radiative heat motivated Sakiadis two-phase flow over a moving plate is analyzed for a particulate nanoliquid (CuOH2O). The impact of the haphazard motion of nanoparticles is analyzed through the KooKleinstreuerLi model. On applying a similarity transformation to the governing equations, a set of ordinary differential equations is obtained and numerically solved. Through the perception of graphs, the behavior of the velocity and temperature constraints for diverse values of effective parameters is decoded. The results showthat the temperature of both phases (dust and fluid) improves with the ESHS aspect. Exploring the role of plant oils in aquaculture practices: an overview
As the global demand for seafood surges, the expanding aquaculture industry faces a pressing need for viable aquafeed ingredients. The raw material for fish oil is limited and expensive due to unpredictable fishery resources in the fishing zones and the overexploitation of wild fisheries, underscoring the urgency of finding alternatives. This review explores diverse plant oil sources, including soybean, rapeseed, linseed, and algal oils, emphasizing their crucial role in nutritionally balanced aquafeeds. These oils support aquatic animals growth, health, and development, influencing membrane structure, energy storage, and hormone production. Genetically modified oilseeds (GM), such as camelina and canola, offer a controlled nutrient content, enabling customized nutrient profiles. This comprehensive review provides an overview of different plant oil sources, elucidates their nutrient profiles, and assesses their potential applications in aquaculture. The discussion encompasses their impact on growth, feed efficiency, lipid profile, health, immunological status, disease resistance, and overall performance of both freshwater and marine fish. Furthermore, the review compiles relevant data on the current status of genetically modified plant oils and explores their potential integration into aquaculture practices. In summary, substituting plant oils for fish oil in aquafeed presents a promising solution to aquaculture industry challenges to meet nutritional requirements for fish. The shadow of truth: Ethical Concerns in the Writings of Alexander Solzhenitsyn
"One word of truth will outweigh the entire world." These were the words of Alexander Solzhenitsyn while accepting the Nobel Prize in 1974. The twentieth century was the bloodiest century in human history, thanks largely to two ideologies - Fascism and Marxism. While there have been numerous studies on Nazi Germany, there have been relatively few on what transpired in Soviet Russia. This paper examines the contributions of the Russian writer and philosopher Alexander Solzhenitsyn to the understanding of the workings of totalitarianism. Solzhenitsyn wrote numerous works like The First Circle, Cancer Ward and The Gulag Archipalego. This paper will be examining his major work called One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The main intention is to probe the ethical concerns that the writer raises in this work, along with his deep understanding of human nature. This paper also seeks to compare Solzhenitsyn's views with that of thinkers like Jean Paul Sartre and Vaclav Havel. The key query here will be the essence-existence debate that Sartre initiated in his seminal work 'Existentialism Is a Humanism' and an attempt will be made to show how Havel and Solzhenitsyn would differ from Sartre. Future of knowledge management in investment banking: Role of personal intelligent assistants
Purpose: The studys objective focuses on investigating the involvement of Personal Intelligent Assistants (PIAs) in the Knowledge Management Process (KMP) in Investment Banking Companies leading to Industrial Revolution 5.0 leading to effective Organizational Knowledge Management. Design/Methodology: A Self-administered Survey Questionnaire was circulated to 695 employees of Investment Banking Companies operating in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune using the Cluster Sampling method. The Covariance-based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) and Gradient Boosting Regression technique of Machine Learning were used to validate the hypothesis through JASP V.18 Software. Knowledge Creation, Knowledge Sharing, Knowledge Retrieval, Knowledge Application, and Organizational Knowledge Management are the crucial constructs considered in the study. Findings: The results revealed that Knowledge Application is the most influencing factor in effective organizational Knowledge management among the Investment Banks followed by Knowledge Sharing. It also emphasizes that they have a weak Knowledge retrieval process and minimal efforts taken to create knowledge within these banks. Implications: The PIAs can facilitate effective Data Analysis and research in managing vast data eliminating the repeated tasks in portfolio reconciliation and offering personalized recommendations to manage portfolios. It enables in compliance, risk management, client relationship management, real-time monitoring and leveraged decision-making through predictive analysis. The Author(s) 2024. -
Performance inquisition of web services using soap UI and JMeter
Web Service is a managed code through which the user can expose the existing functionality over the network. Web Service allows multiple applications to communicate with each other. The communication involves passing the data or interaction of two services for a specified action. There are commercial and open source tools available for testing web services. This paper describes about two popular open source tools to test the performance of the web services in terms of response time. The performance is tested based on the time acquired by each service. Evaluation of therapeutic potentials of selected phytochemicals against Nipah virus, a multi-dimensional in silico study
The current study attempted to evaluate the potential of fifty-three (53) natural compounds as Nipah virus attachment glycoprotein (NiV G) inhibitors through in silico molecular docking study. Pharmacophore alignment of the four(4) selected compounds (Naringin, Mulberrofuran B, Rutin and Quercetin 3-galactoside) through Principal Component Analysis (PCA) revealed that common pharmacophores, namely four H bond acceptors, one H bond donor and two aromatic groups were responsible for the residual interaction with the target protein. Out of these four compounds, Naringin was found to have the highest inhibitory potential ( 9.19kcalmol?1) against the target protein NiV G, when compared to the control drug, Ribavirin ( 6.95kcalmol?1). The molecular dynamic simulation revealed that Naringin could make a stable complex with the target protein in the near-native physiological condition. Finally, MM-PBSA (Molecular Mechanics-PoissonBoltzmann Solvent-Accessible Surface Area) analysis in agreement with our molecular docking result, showed that Naringin ( 218.664kJmol?1) could strongly bind with the target protein NiV G than the control drug Ribavirin ( 83.812kJmol?1). 2023, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. -
A top-down approach for studying the in-silico effect of the novel phytocompound tribulusamide B on the inhibition of Nipah virus transmission through targeting fusion glycoprotein and matrix protein
The proteins of Nipah virus ascribe to its lifecycle and are crucial to infections caused by the virus. In the absence of approved therapeutics, these proteins can be considered as drug targets. This study examined the potential of fifty-three (53) natural compounds to inhibit Nipah virus fusion glycoprotein (NiV F) and matrix protein (NiV M) in silico. The molecular docking experiment, supported by the principal component analysis (PCA), showed that out of all the phytochemicals considered, Tribulusamide B had the highest inhibitory potential against the target proteins NiV F and NiV M (-9.21 and ?8.66 kcal mol?1, respectively), when compared to the control drug, Ribavirin (-7.01 and ?6.52 kcal mol?1, respectively). Furthermore, it was found that Tribulusamide B pharmacophores, namely, hydrogen donors, acceptors, aromatic and hydrophobic groups, contributed towards the effective residual interactions with the target proteins. The molecular dynamic simulation further validated the results of the docking studies and concluded that Tribulusamide B formed a stable complex with the target proteins. The data obtained from MM-PBSA study further explained that the phytochemical could strongly bind with NiV F (-31.26 kJ mol?1) and NiV M (-40.26 kJ mol?1) proteins in comparison with the control drug Ribavirin (-13.12 and ?13.94 kJ mol?1, respectively). Finally, the results indicated that Tribulusamide B, a common inhibitor effective against multiple proteins, can be considered a potential therapeutic entity in treating the Nipah virus infection. 2024 Elsevier Ltd -

A Study on Retirement Preparedness of Information Technology and Education Sector Employees in relation to Attitude and Knowledge
Retirement planning is a process of analysing the current financial situation, identifying the future financial need of the person upon retirement, investing on a disciplined basis through appropriate instruments and deriving benefits out of it when the need arises. With changing socio-economic factors, there is a great interest among academicians and practitioners alike, to find answers for inevitable post retirement survival crisis. This study is primarily based on a problem How well prepared are IT and Education sector employees to take up the post retirement financial survival? The objectives of the study are - to know the association between attitude, knowledge and retirement preparedness and whether attitude and knowledge has any relationship with the retirement preparedness. This study is based on primary data collected from 400 respondents (200 IT sector employees and 200 Education sector employees) using questionnaire. This study takes Attitude and Knowledge as independent variables and Retirement preparedness as dependent variable. With the help of statistical tools like Chi-square tests, ANOVA and Canonical Correlation, the association and relationship were tested. This study reveals that Attitude and Knowledge has relationship with retirement preparedness. The result is of great significance for government in policy making, for media and personal financial planners in pro actively influencing investment decisions of investors. -
Structural investigation of Cr2CTx/NiFe2O4 MXene composite as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for water splitting
The electrocatalytic water splitting offers great potential as an environmentally friendly and sustainable method to produce hydrogen and oxygen, the former serving as a renewable alternative to traditional fossil fuels. MXene, a novel two-dimensional (2D) layered class of materials, has gained enormous attention as an electrocatalyst for water splitting. This versatile material can be tailored to enhance its electroactive surface sites and stability toward electrocatalytic performance. Herein, we have designed a 2D hybrid material, Cr2CTx/NiFe2O4, via an in-situ hydrothermal approach. NiFe2O4 spheres decorated on layered-Cr2CTx are subjected to analysis using XRD, FTIR, TGA, XPS, FESEM, HRTEM-SAED, and optical profilometry. The synthesized hybrid MXene material shows outstanding activity for overall water splitting compared to Cr2CTx and NiFe2O4. Cr2CTx/NiFe2O4 exhibits an overpotential of 144 mV and 159 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm?2 for hydrogen evolution and oxygen evolution reactions, respectively, and achieves a cell potential of 1.69 V for overall water splitting. This study reveals valuable insights on bi-functional 2D hybrid MXene materials for electrocatalytic water splitting. 2024 Elsevier B.V. -
Outward Foreign Direct Investment From India ; A Sectoral Analysis
New opportunities have arisen as the global economy has been more integrated, with globalization and liberalization of government policies. As the world becomes more globalized, businesses boost their investments to keep up with demand. Trade and foreign investments are two notable paths to global integration, with trade being the traditional path. As an FDI pioneer and promoter, the FDI of the upper-middle-income countries became an essential source of integration with the low and middle-income countries. With globalization and liberalization policies India has become the most significant emerging economy. Economic policies urged Indian enterprises to compete internationally to keep up with fierce competitive environment and the adoption of new technology, such as expanding into new markets, acquiring assets and resources, and integrating their overseas operations. Outward FDI (OFDI) has been used by Indian enterprises to meet these strategic needs. India's overseas investments have increased significantly since the 1990s. The majority of empirical research has focused on FDI from upper-middle-income nations. As low- and middle-income nations like India become more important players in the FDI flow, it's necessary to understand the patterns, motivations, and factors that influence the location and impact of OFDI from these countries. Existing Studies focused on Inward FDI (IFDI), but this study focuses on Outward FDI (OFDI) from India. Earlier OFDI research has mostly focused on firm-specific advantages. This study examines India's OFDI trends, as well as changes in host country location determinants, sectoral composition, and their influence on both the home and host countries. In view of the changing direction of OFDI in India, this study compares investment motives and location factors between the upper-middle-income and low and middle-income countries complying with the international categorization established by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in its publication, the World Investment Report (WIR). This study analyzes the determinants and impact of India's OFDI in the home and host country during the period 1991-2020 in the context of Dunning's eclectic paradigm (OLI paradigm) and Investment Development Path (IDP) theory, using OFDI data from 1991 to 2020, which is longer than other studies by India's OFDI. This study employs panel data methodologies to identify crucial aspects and empirically test the nature of India's OFDI, which includes market seeking, resource seeking, technology and strategic asset seeking. The study uses a time series method to empirically test the relationship between India's OFDI, Trade and GDP. The results reveal that India's OFDI is motivated by market seeking, resource seeking, and technology seeking motives in upper-middle-income and low and middle-income countries. The results emphasize strategic assets as a significant motivation for investing in upper-middle-income countries rather than low and middle-income countries. India's OFDI is also actively linked to host country policies such as openness, corruption and market size. OFDI from India affects exports, as OFDI and exports are two means of internationalization. Theoretically, OFDI leads to further exports (positive or complements) or replaces exports with production (negative or substitution). Empirical testing of the OFDI-trade relationship shows a significant long-term positive relationship between the two. The study divided into five chapters. Chapter one comprises the introduction, backdrop of Global Outward FDI, India's FDI inflows and outflows, India's outward FDI, Need and Significance of the study. The second chapter consists of the literature review, theories of FDI, Statement of Problem. The third chapter deals with the methodology, research gap, research question, objectives of the study, and statistical tools used for the study. The fourth chapter focuses on the determinants of India's OFDI towards upper-middle and low and middle-income countries and the impact of India's OFDI on upper-middle and low and middle-income countries are analyzed in chapter three. It followed by a Geographical and sectoral analysis of India's OFDI in upper-middle and low and middle-income countries and a region-wise analysis in chapter five. Chapter six presents the study results, factors affecting India's Outward FDI among upper-middle and low and middle-income countries, followed by practical, theoretical and policy implications of the Study. -
