Where to Check Homework? The Emphasis on Supportive Feedback via Social Media by Teachers in CALL and Its Consequences on EFL Learners' Self-assessment, Academic Success, Academic Enjoyment
This study investigates the impact of Facebook-mediated supportive feedback on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners' self-assessment, academic enjoyment, and academic success in a Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) context. Using a sequential exploratory methodology, this study holistically investigates the research objectives using qualitative and quantitative approaches. Two intact classrooms of lower-intermediate EFL students in an Iraqi language institute were selected; one class was designated as the experimental group receiving Facebook-mediated tasks and the other as the control group using conventional teaching strategies. Among the tools for data collecting were a teacher-made test, semi-structured interviews, and observation. Compared to the control group, the experimental groupwhich received extra Facebook-mediated tasks and conventional course materialsshowcased notably greater degrees of self-assessment, academic enjoyment, and academic success. Positive perceptions of Facebook-mediated interactions were found through the qualitative analyses of observations and interviews, thereby stressing learners' higher motivation, collaboration, and sense of community. Experiences of mindfulness-based relapse prevention on the smoking behaviour of working women
Smoking is the highest cause of preventable deaths in the world. The number of working women prone to addiction is high due to the levels of stress witnessed. The number of working women who have taken up to smoking has increased and is said to increase by 20 percent by the year 2025 if not addressed. Mindfulness, a Buddhist meditative technique helps with managing addiction to nicotine. Mindfulness based relapse prevention has showed promise to reduce relapse levels amongst people who smoke. The primary objective of the study is to check the experiences of mindfulnessbased relapse prevention (MBRP) on the smoking behaviour of working women in India. An embedded experimental design was carried out on eight working women who were selected using purposeful sampling. The participants went through eight two- hourly sessions of MBRP therapy, one session a week. Three sets of interviews (pre-intervention, mid intervention and post-intervention) were conducted including pre and post-test to check the levels of abstinence self-efficacy, mindfulness, perceived stress and craving. Follow up was carried out one week, one, two and six months post intervention. Thematic analysis was used for interpretation of qualitative data and paired sample t test was used for analysis of quantitative data. Themes that emerged were experiences with the habit of smoking, which included history of newlineinitiation, reasons for smoking, transformation seen and history of quit attempts. Four weeks into the intervention the themes that emerged were impactful components within self, supporting outcomes of practice and challenging experiences. Post the intervention experiencing changes, experiencing challenges through the intervention and strategies for abstinence and continued practice emerged. Mindfulness and abstinence self-efficacy had risen whereas craving and stress had reduced. Follow up at one week showed no changes in results. One and two months follow up showed newlinereduced practice hours of mindfulness with no full-blown relapse. -

Addiction is of varied types and over the years the focus has not only been on the growing issues of addiction but also on how to prevent relapse on recovering clients. According to Buddhist teaching craving is the cause of suffering and suffering festers itself due to attachment. Once an individual is enlightened he will be able to find a path that ceases such suffering. Mindfulness helps bring about such enlightenment through being conscious and reflective of every moments experience. Mindfulness does not stop at being aware alone but extends its teaching to accepting such experiences as they are and letting go. Relapse prevention has long been researched on and new therapies developed to facilitate the same. This conceptual paper looks at how Mindfulness-based relapse prevention therapy works to prevent relapses. The paper focuses on understanding each of the eight-week therapy process and how it progresses in changing thoughts and reducing stress. The paper shows how Mindfulness-based relapse prevention helps clients understand their craving and how to change thoughts in order to deal with a craving thus preventing relapse. 2019, 2019 The Author(s). Exosomal mediated signal transduction through artificial microRNA (amiRNA): A potential target for inhibition of SARS-CoV-2
Exosome trans-membrane signals provide cellular communication between the cells through transport and/or receiving the signal by molecule, change the functional metabolism, and stimulate and/or inhibit receptor signal complexes. COVID19 genetic transformations are varied in different geographic positions, and single nucleotide polymorphic lineages were reported in the second waves due to the fast mutational rate and adaptation. Several vaccines were developed and in treatment practice, but effective control has yet to reach in cent presence. It was initially a narrow immune-modulating protein target. Controlling these diverse viral strains may inhibit their transuding mechanisms primarily to target RNA genes responsible for COVID19 transcription. Exosomal miRNAs are the main sources of transmembrane signals, and trans-located miRNAs can directly target COVID19 mRNA transcription. Tuning the electronic dimensionality and bandgap in Cs2AgBiX6 (X = Br, Cl) for photovoltaic applications: a DFT-1/2 study of cation disorder
Nontoxic, stable, and experimentally realized lead-free halide double perovskites, Cs2AgBiX6 (X = Br, Cl), attracted much attention for solar cell applications. However, their reduced electronic dimensionality and indirect (wide) bandgap, limiting solar energy absorption efficiency, are not mostly suitable. To address such issues, we employ the computationally efficient DFT-1/2 + SOC method to study the electronic structure of cation-ordered and cation-disordered materials comparatively. Our study explores the impact of cation disorder in tuning the electronic dimensionality, demonstrating how the disorder effect reduces bandgaps, increases solar energy absorption, enhances band dispersion, and decreases carrier effective masses for better photovoltaic performance. We observe an evolution of the electronic dimensionality in the disordered systems, influencing the carrier effective masses and absorption properties. Fractional (and non-integer) electronic dimensionality appears to be an essential concept in understanding the optoelectronic properties. The direct bandgap, high absorption in the desired energy range, and mostly lower effective masses of the disordered systems make them suitable for solar cell applications. 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry. -
Populism and the question of sovereignty in democracy with special reference to India
The sovereign manner of decision-making in a democracy is reckoned extremely crucial to stable governance. It is unfortunate, therefore, if the question of sovereignty acquires public attention predominantly in the wake of totalitarianist tendencies. It is the case now that with the emergence of several populist voices and nationalist sentiments, contemporary democracies actively debate the question of democratic sovereignty. This article is a critique of the complacency arising out of what is often wrongly perceived as the reassurances of the letter, or for that matter the spirit, of the constitutions of liberal democracies. Regardless of whether populism is traced within the electoral context or outside of it, the question of sovereignty offers a vantage point for understanding it from a theoretical perspective. In this regard, the article utilises the insightful yet contrasting notions of democratic sovereignty put forward by the philosophers Giorgio Agamben and Jacques Derrida. They approach the question of sovereignty from historical and/or linguistic points of view, illuminating the notions of sharing, sovereign violence and its overarching theological underpinnings. The articles findings, purposes and effects are meant to be educational and cultural in the first place. It employs, for the purpose of exemplification, a commentary on the Indian democratic scene. THE INFLUENCE OF HYPNOTIC RELAXATION ON STRESS AMONG BSc. NURSING STUDENTS
The study aims to understand the influence of hypnotic relaxation on stress among BSc. Nursing Students. It tries to find out whether hypnotic suggestions can be useful in dealing with stressful events in their hospital and study level experiences. Convenience sampling technique was employed. The GHQ -12 was administered as a screening tool to the 1st and 2nd year nursing students from NIMHANS. 60 BSc. nursing students were selected after GHQ screening. These 60 participants responded as having high perceived stress and divided into two groups. The experimental group had 30 participants and control group had 30 participants. Post assessment indicated that the experimental group who were provided with regular hypnotic relaxation had significantly reduced their perceived stress. Key Words: Hypnotic Relaxation, Stress, BSc. Heat and Mass Transfer Analysis of Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Nanofluids in The Presence of Motile Microorganisms
This dissertation deals with the analysis of heat and mass transfer in Newtonian and newlinenon-Newtonian nanoand#64258;uid in the presence of motile microorganisms. The major application of the and#64258;uids in heat and mass transfer process is its capability to conduct heat. Hence, the and#64258;uids act as a source that conducts heat and cools down the temperature of the appliance. Whereas, the capacity of heat conductance is low in case of regular and#64258;uids, hence the concept of nanoand#64258;uids was introduced whose thermal conductivity is more when compared to regular and#64258;uids. The high thermal conductivity of nanoparticles helps in conducting more heat and the property of and#64258;uid to and#64258;ow helps the nanoparticles to and#64258;ow all over the desired surface and conduct heat. During the process of nanoand#64258;uid and#64258;ow, the nanoparticles undergo random motion that is termed as Brownian motion and they also experience the thermophoretic force that causes the nanoparticles to move from hotter region to colder region. Further, the presence of nanoparticles would either result in sedimentation or formation a layer of nanoparticles over the surface. This layer of nanoparticles adhered to the surface creates corrosion. Hence, it is important to prevent the nanoparticles from forming its layer over the surface and also the sedimentation of nanoparticles must be avoided to have no blockages in the system. Hence in this regards, self propelled microorganisms newlineare allowed to swim in the nanoand#64258;uid which in turn constitutes bioconvection. Considering these assumptions, problems in this dissertation are modelled such that it deals with the analysis of bioconvection caused due to the swimming of microorganisms in the and#64258;ow newlineof nanoand#64258;uid. The mathematical models of the and#64258;ow, heat and mass transfer of Newtonian and non Newtonian nanoand#64258;uids are designed using the partial differential equations with various assumptions to achieve realistic results.
