Recent advances in electrochemical synthesis of nitriles: A sustainable approach /

Nitriles unveil widespread applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, textiles, rubber, polymers, and constitute a significant intermediate in several organic transformations, necessitating the design of simple and environmentally benign pathways for their synthesis. Over the recent years, electro-organic reactions have found widespread attention in developing effective and selective organic synthesis. They possess several advantages: high atom economy, selectivity, minimal waste production, and shorter routes to multistep traditional organic reactions. The development of novel strategies for greener and sustainable electro-organic synthesis of nitriles is therefore commendable. -
DPETAs: Detection and Prevention of Evil Twin Attacks on Wi-Fi Networks
Numerous types of threats could become vulnerable to Wi-Fi networks. In terms of preventing and reducing their effect on the networks, it has become an imperative activity of any user to understand the threats. Even after thoroughly encrypting them, the route between the attackers device and the victims device may even be vulnerable to security attacks on Wi-Fi networks. It has also been noted that there are current shortcomings on Wi-Fi security protocols and hardware modules that are available in the market. Any device connected to the network could be a possible primary interface for attackers. Wi-Fi networks that are available in the transmission range are vulnerable to threats. For instance, if an Access Point(AP) has no encrypted traffic while it is attached to a Wi-Fi network, an intruder may run a background check to launch the attack.And then, attackers could launch more possible attacks in the targeted network, in which the Evil Twin attack have become the most prominent. This Evil Twin attack in a Wi-Fi network is a unique outbreak mostly used by attackers to make intrusion or to establish an infection where the users are exploited to connect with a victims network through a nearby access point. So, there are more chance to get users credentials by the perpetrators. An intruder wisely introduces a fake access point that is equivalent to something looks like an original access point near the network premises in this case. So, an attacker is capable of compromising the network when a user unconsciously enters by using this fake access point. Attackers could also intercept the traffic and even the login credentials used after breaching insecure networks. This could enable monitoring the users and perhaps even manipulating the behavior patterns of an authorized network user smoother for attackers. The key consideration of this research paper is the identification and avoidance of the Evil Twin attack over any Wi-Fi networks. Comparison of genetic algorithm with Particle Swarm Optimisation, ant colony optimisation and Tabu search based on university course scheduling system
Objectives: Planning and allocation of the various resources according to the constraints is a hilarious task. The paper aims to find a suitable method to solve the university course scheduling problem. Methods and Statistical Analysis: This paper compares the usage of Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO), Ant Colony Optimisation (ACO), Tabu Search and Genetic Algorithm (GA) in the preparation of University Course Scheduling System. Certain hard constraints, which has to be satisfied and some soft constraints that can be satisfied are considered. Findings: The algorithm should check for the satisfaction of the hard constraints and the possibility of satisfying the soft constraints. Application/Improvements: The performance of the suitable method is found by comparing with the other methods based on various parameters. -
Co-MoS2 nanoflower coated carbon fabric as a flexible electrode for supercapacitor
Cobalt doped MoS2 (Co-MoS2) nanoflowers have been successfully synthesized via a simple one-step hydrothermal method for supercapacitor applications. To identify the crystalline nature and morphology, the as-prepared material is characterized by XRD, SEM, and TEM measurements. The material exhibits a specific capacitance value of 86 F g-1 at a current density of 1 Ag-1 in symmetric two-electrode configuration with excellent cyclic stability of 98.5% even after 10,000 chargedischarge cycles. The results suggest the suitability of Co-MoS2 as an efficient electrode material for supercapacitors. 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. -
Design Optimization of Electrical Connector Assembly using FEA
Due to the increasing number of devices and systems connected to an electric system, the need for reliable and high-quality electrical connectors has become more prevalent. This project aims to optimize the design of an electrical connector during its two most critical stages: insertion and retention of housing using FEA. A structural analysis is performed during the insertion and retention stages of housing. This process involves calculating the dimensional deformations and maximum strains developed during the steps mentioned above to determine the reliable functioning of electrical contacts. The input geometry is fed to the finite element analysis. The forces applied on the connectors latch on their respective connection are ensured to be under the limit. The analysis and simulation results are reflected to validate the safe forces in the connector assembly and a proper justification for an experimental set up in the laboratory. 2022, Books and Journals Private Ltd.. A Study on Some Eccentricity Related Problems in Graphs
The concepts related to eccentricity in graphs are explored in this research work. newlineThe eccentric graph Ge of a graph G has the same vertex set as that of G and two newlinevertices in Ge are adjacent if one is the eccentric vertex of the other. The eccentric newlinegraphs of some graph operations are explored, and the iterated eccentric graphs Gek newlineare introduced. The process of inding eccentric graphs, known as eccentrication, is newlinestudied in detail. Graphs that result in a complete graph Kn upon iterative eccentrication are characterized, and the cyclic property of eccentrication is established for various cycle-related graphs. The eccentrication of tree graphs is studied in detail, and a general result on the cyclic property of trees is obtained. A conjecture on the cyclic property of eccentrication for any graph G is made. The ei-signed graph of a graph G, where the edge between vertices u and v receives a sign and#963; = (and#8722;1)|ecc(u)and#8722;ecc(v)|, where ecc(u) is the eccentricity of vertex u, is investigated. General properties of ei-signed graphs, such as homogeneity, consistency, switching, and sign compatibility, are discussed. Properties that behave diferently across various classes of graphs are explored. Finally, the scope of this study is presented, and some open problems in the area are provided. -
Towards Visibility: Subaltern Counterpublics in Paul Chirakkarodes Pulayathara
Christianity has always been celebrated as a catalyst towards modernity for the Dalits of Kerala. Though missionary accounts and ethnographic studies confirm the progress of the community, there was rampant casteism and separatism too. This is succinctly revealed in Dalit Christian texts. Pulayathara by Paul Chirakkarode stands as a testimony to the Dalit Christian dilemma and traces the history of the Kuttanadan Pulaya community in the pre- and post-conversion scenarios. Conversions could not change the existing public sphere of Kerala, where upper castes were the dominant party. They (Dalits) continued to be marginalized and subordinated and lacked a class consciousness. The article highlights the limitations in the public sphere that emerged in Kerala as part of the missionary endeavours in accommodating the converted Dalits. The article attempts to trace the emergence of subaltern counterpublics among the Dalit Christians to oppose the continued oppression and casteism by situating Pulayathara at the centre of the analysis. 2022 Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. -
What Numbers Never Revealed: Tracing Dalit Christian Modernity Through Malayalam Literature
Kerala has a long-standing history of Christianity as well as conversions. Conversions can be dated back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, which saw a large number of slave caste conversions. For the slave castes of KeralaPulayas and ParayasChristianity offered a salvation from the circle of pollution. Scriptures provided the slave castes new vistas of knowledge which they encultured to form a counter discourse against the public sphere set up by the dominant castes. The public sphere of the Malayalee psyche was formed by the ideas of caste pollution, which restricted the slave castes from accessing the social space. A new Dalit perspective on the religious consciousness of the converted Christians will show the role of the Bible, Original Sin, and Repentance on their daily lives. A Study on the Emergence of Subaltern Counterpublics in Select Malayalam Dalit Christian Narratives
The research A Study on the Emergence of Subaltern Counterpublics in Select Malayalam Dalit Christian Narratives attempts to put Kerala's vernacular Dalit Christian narratives into the scholarly canvas. As statistics do not provide solid data on the quotidian resistance, the narratives reveal the overt and covert struggles of the Dalit Christians. The study problematises the dominant narrative of the State and the Church and provides a way to articulate their voices and the transition from one religion to another. The primary texts for the study include Paul Chirakkarodes Pulayathara, Nostalgia and Eli Eli, Lama Sabach Thani, T.K.C. Vaduthalas Achante Venthinga Inna! and C Ayyapans Ghost Speech. The current study uses the combined frameworks of narratology, Lacanian psychoanalysis and subaltern counterpublics through the method of narrative analysis. Narrative analysis involves analysing stories or narratives to understand their meanings, experiences and values. The research argues that the Dalit Christian narratives become a testimony of subaltern counterpublics, narratology, and resistance tactics, suggesting a counter- narrative effect. They become treasure houses that carry group memory of community life and history. They are enclaved spaces where unfiltered articulations of marginalisation, abandonment, exploitation, rejection, resistance and empowerment occur. They function as proactive spaces that challenge dominant stereotypes and create an ideologically sound public sphere. Alternative discourse arenas become places of empowerment where subaltern counterpublics emerge, thus transforming the narratives into counter-narratives. The study acknowledges the agency of the Dalit Christian narratives to reform, rethink and reinterpret the form and content of Dalit Christian literature from a subaltern perspective. From an epistemological perspective, the Dalit Christian narratives produce knowledge garnered through analysing and interpreting the primary texts as representative of fusing personal and political resources to create a narrative of resistance and survival. -
New biomarkers for the detection of fetal death derived from large-scale proteomic analysis of maternal plasma
Background Normal pregnancy involves the modulation of thousands of maternal plasma proteins, and protein values not within the normal range may indicate the development of adverse pregnancy outcomes. A decrease in placental growth factor and an increase in soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 in maternal plasma were shown to be associated with fetal death at the time of diagnosis and to predict this devastating pregnancy outcome at 24 to 28 weeks of gestation. However, these proteomic dysregulations are also present in other obstetrical syndromes, and more specific and sensitive biomarkers are needed to implement preventive strategies. Objective This study aimed to identify candidate protein biomarkers that can improve the prediction of fetal death relative to placental growth factor and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1. Study Design This retrospective case-control study included 38 patients who experienced fetal death (cases) and 23 patients with uncomplicated pregnancies (controls). Plasma samples were collected at the time of diagnosis (2041 weeks of gestation) from cases and during routine care from gestational agematched controls. An aptamer-based multiplex assay was used to measure the abundance of >7000 protein analytes. Differential protein abundance was assessed using linear models with adjustment for gestational age at sample collection. Significance was inferred using a moderated t test adjusted P value of <.1 and a fold change of >1.25. Hypergeometric tests were performed to identify gene ontology biological processes enriched among proteins with significant changes in abundance. Random forest models were trained and evaluated via cross-validation to distinguish between fetal death cases and controls and to pinpoint the most salient predictors. Results Among the 7146 protein assays tested, 97 assays (1.4%) corresponding to 87 unique proteins differed significantly in abundance between fetal death cases and controls: 63 of 87 proteins (72%) were less abundant in fetal death cases, and 24 of 87 proteins (26%) were more abundant in fetal death cases. Dysregulated proteins were involved in pregnancy-related processes, such as angiogenesis and lactation. Random forest models effectively differentiated fetal death cases from controls, achieving an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 72% for the combination of placental growth factor and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1, which increased to 86% when up to 50 additional proteins were included in the models (Delong test: P =.004). In addition, the point estimate of sensitivity increased from 53% to 74% (false-positive rate of approximately 10% for both). Glycoprotein hormones alpha chain (CGA), DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 9 (DNAJB9), and DNA-directed RNA polymerase III subunit RPC10 (POLR3K) emerged as the top 3 candidates to improve discrimination relative to placental growth factor and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1. The significant proteomic changes in a subset of fetal death cases diagnosed first with preeclampsia relative to controls were highly correlated ( r =0.78; P <.001) with those reported in late preeclampsia cases leading to live births. On average, for each 2-fold change in protein abundance in late preeclampsia leading to live birth, there was an 8.6-fold change in preeclampsia leading to fetal death. Despite this overall correlation, transcobalamin 2, glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase, and hepcidin, among others, demonstrated dysregulation only in preeclampsia leading to fetal death, suggesting both shared and distinct pathways perturbed in the 2 syndromes. Conclusion Our findings suggest that new maternal plasma proteins improve the discrimination of fetal death from controls relative to known biomarkers and that, although the signatures of fetal death and of preeclampsia are correlated, fetal death not only represents a much heightened disease state but also involves distinct perturbed pathways. Future studies are needed to determine whether the biomarkers can predict fetal death. 2026 Elsevier Inc. -
Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Children in Conflict with Law: An Exploratory Study of Karnataka and Telangana
The current study analyses the effect that rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with law has on the life of the children. It traces the history of deviant behavior of the child and the causes that lead to deviancy. For the purpose of this study, two institutions were selected from Karnataka and Telangana, because of geographical and social-economic similarities. A sample of 10 (5 from each state) children who had undergone rehabilitation and reintegration process were selected between the age of 12-18 years and interview was conducted. The interview shed light on the rehabilitation and reintegration process that exists in the two states and their institutions from the perspective of the participants and their struggles and challenges was also recorded. Thematic analysis by Braun was loosely followed. The analysis brought out major themes in the experience of the participants and their changes that they had undergone. The research concludes by listing out the characteristics of the respective institutions in the state of Karnataka and Telangana and their impact on the participant in the aspect of rehabilitation and reintegration. -

Electrochemical Synthesis of Heterocyclic Carbonyls Using Carbon Based Electrocatalysts
Electro-organic synthesis (EOS) is emerging as a powerful and sustainable technique newlinefor synthesizing organic compounds. EOS offers a compelling alternative to newlineconventional synthetic methods, driven by the need for cleaner and more efficient newlineprocesses and a growing focus on environmental impact. This approach minimizes newlineenvironmental impact by reducing dependence on hazardous chemicals and solvents. newlineAdditionally, EOS enables precise control over reaction parameters, leading to selective newlineproduct formation and potentially novel reaction pathways. newlineThis work presents the development of electrocatalysts for the electro-oxidation of newlineselected heterocyclic alcohols, namely piperonyl alcohol (PA), thiophene-2-ylmethanol newline(TM), furfuryl alcohol (FA) and indole-3-carbinol (IC) to their corresponding newlinealdehydes. A Toray carbon fiber paper (TCFP) substrate modified with 2D materials, newlineconducting polymers, metal oxides, and metal oxide nanoparticles are employed in newlinethefabrication of the electrodes. newlineThe efficiency of the developed electrode was studied employing different newlineelectrochemical and physicochemical studies. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance newlineSpectroscopy (EIS), Chronoamperometry (CA) and Bulk Electrolysis (BE) techniques newlinewere employed for the electrochemical studies, including optimization and synthesis of newlineheterocyclic aldehydes. The fabricated electrocatalysts demonstrated remarkable newlinestability, higher electrocatalytic activity, and good conductivity. The electro-oxidation newlinereactions were carried out in a three-electrode system via BE using 4-acetamido- newline2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine 1-oxyl (4-ACT) mediator. The products obtained were newlinecharacterized by Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy. -
Enhancing Human Resource Management Practices in Marketing Companies Using Dual Graph Attention Networks
Marketing organization features and strategy implementation have been studied for over 30 years. These include organizational structure, culture, leadership, and processes. HR regulations can motivate marketing professionals to support group and individual goals when correctly implemented, but this part of HR has gotten little attention. Model preparation, feature extraction, and training comprise the suggestive technique. It reviewed data quality, evaluated dataset structure, and described data types during pre-processing. Principal component analysis (PCA) ranked and evaluated decision-making units to reduce dimension. Model training used MGGAN. In comparison to GAN and CNN, the proposed model performed well. With an average accuracy rate of 94.36%, it surpassed earlier approaches and captured all dataset peculiarities. MGGAN modeling can increase predictive performance, and marketing organizations should integrate HR regulations, according to this study. Assessment of Battery Technologies for Future of Electro-Mobility in Emerging Markets
In the outset of economic growth, the emerging country like India faces challenges due to rapid urbanization, infrastructure and city-congestion. The increased demand for mobility and a pivotal role of internal combustion engines from decades in the transportation segment have led to two influencing factors i.e., increased dependency on the oil import from fuel rich countries and alarming levels of emission. Hence it is essential for a country like India to venture into newer technologies to reform the transportation segment, reduce the dependency on the oil import and also has a positive impact on the pollutants. There are few technological barriers for the development of electric vehicles over internal combustion (IC) engines in terms of cost and performance of the vehicle. Along with the reduction of emissions, the electric vehicles should exhibit considerably good specific energy density and specific power density to emulate over the conventional (IC) engines. The three major constituents of electric vehicles are the battery, electric engine and the controller. The energy storage device forms the crux of the electric vehicle and has a significant role in its performance as well as forms the expensive component of the vehicle. Joint algorithm for energy-conservation and secure key generation in wireless sensor network
From more than a decade, wireless sensor network is one of the active area of research area. However, the energy dissipation as well as security loopholes are still unanswered question inspite of massive research work. Hence, the proposed system implements a novel algorithm that cumulatively addresses the unwanted energy dissipation problem along with secure authentication process. The prime attempt of this paper was to maintain a well-balance relationship between energy efficiency and security robustness in large scale wireless sensor network. The proposed security process allows one node to authenticate another node using quadratic approach. Implemented over first order radio energy model, the outcome of the proposed system was found to outperform the conventional SecLEACH routing algorithm with respect to processing time and energy.
