However, the deployment of a reliable and cost-effective EV charging infrastructure remains a challenge. To address this challenge, this paper proposes the development of an effective charging station using multiport converter and photovoltaic cell integration. A promising approach in the transportation sector is an efficient charging station with multiport converter and photovoltaic cell integration. A multiport converter, photovoltaic cells, a battery energy storage system, and an electric vehicle charging port constitute the proposed charging station. The power flow between the photovoltaic cells, the battery energy storage system, and the electric vehicle charging port is controlled by the multiport converter. The excess energy generated by the photovoltaic cells is stored in the battery energy storage system. The proposed charging station is designed and analysed using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show that the proposed charging station is capable of providing an electric vehicle a reliable and consistent power supply.
