This chapter discusses the application of inorganic nanoparticles in cosmetic products with an emphasis on the characteristic features of nanoparticles suitable for cosmetic applications. In particular, applications of inorganic nanoparticles as UV filters and antimicrobial materials are discussed in detail with a basic overview of the fundamental scientific basis related to these applications. Types of nanoparticles used in commercial cosmetic products are enlisted, reflecting the range of applications and property modifications.
