The collected data, whether structured or unstructured, could prove to be very beneficial in terms of improving operational efficiency by analyzing and extracting valuable information to find patterns to optimize asset utilization and improve asset intelligence. Big data analytics can very well contribute to the evolution of the digital electrical power industry. The objective of this paper is to explore how smart grid technology can be enhanced by leveraging big data analytics. Different predictive models are used for the purpose.
