Semi-structured interviews with eight non-binary participants aged 1823 from Bengaluru revealed four main themes: societal treatment, self-identity, minority stress and mental health, and social support. Findings indicate that experiences with discrimination, misgendering, gender dysphoria, and identity concealment contribute to negative mental health outcomes. However, social support and effective coping strategies were found to positively influence mental health by affirming identity. These results suggest potential avenues for developing targeted interventions and support systems to improve mental health among non-binary individuals.
