- Description
- Quorum sensing (QS) is a bacterial communication system that allows bacteria to coordinate their behavior based on their population size. Both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria use QS, but they employ different chemical signals to communicate. As bacteria grow, they release these signals, and when the attention of these signals reaches a certain position, it triggers specific genes that help the bacteria acclimate to their terrain. 2026 Elsevier Inc.
