There is a well-established connection between stress and these chronic illnesses; the physiological and behavioral avenues of stress trigger or exacerbate chronic diseases. The feedback loop between nervous, endocrine, and immune systems is the focus of psychoneuroimmunology. A comprehensive model involving the connection between the neural, immune, and endocrine systems, and social and psychological factors is important for addressing chronic illnesses in a community practice. The psychoneuroimmunology framework is quite successful at the individual level for various chronic diseases. The current paper strategized the psychoneuroimmunology framework in the community using the comprehensive six-level Community Health Impact Pyramid for Health Care model.
