A pressure ulcer is a localized injury to the skin or underlying tissue as a result of unrelieved pressure which can be intrinsic or extrinsic in nature. Prevention of pressure ulcer is a prime requisite for any immobile patients as it can worsen the health situations and can even lead to mortality. In the context of Indian scenario, this issue is quite ignored either due to the lack of awareness of its implications or because of the absence of adequate preventive measures.
