<text>Vortex bladeless turbine antiquates the conventional wind turbine and adopts a radically innovative and novel approach to captivate the moving wind energy. This device effectively captures the energy of vorticity, an aerodynamic instability condition. As the wind passes a structure, the flow steers and cyclical patterns of vortices are generated. Once the strength of wind force is suffice, the structure starts vibrating and reaches resonance. Vortex bladeless is a vortex induced vibration resonant power generator. It harnesses wind energy from a phenomenon of vorticity, called vortex shedding effect. Clearly bladeless technology consists of a cylinder fixed vertically on an elastic rod, instead of tower, nacelle and blades which are the crucial parts of a conventional wind turbine. The cylinder oscillates on a specifically mentioned wind range, which then generate electricity through an alternator and a tuning system. In this paper the vortex turbine is designed with certain existing parameters of dimensions in Solidworks and the same is analyzed for different materials and dimensions of mast, which is an important part in the vortex turbine. Also various performance parameters like displacement, frequency etc. are also compared among different models. 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.</text>

<text>This work is primarily focused on the study of the possible usage of ecofriendly black toner powder and egg shell powder as adsorbent material for the removal of arsenic from industrial effluent. Batch experiments were conducted by varying the concentration, size of the reinforcement particles, time and its pH value. The optimal pH for the effective removal of arsenic was found to be 7. The size of the particles played a significant role in removing the arsenic. Smaller size particles outperformed the bigger size particles and the joint action of intra-particle transfer and pore diffusion mechanism played a major role in the removal of arsenic. 2022</text>

<text>The presence of heavy metal ions in the industrial effluents is considered as a major threat to humans and to the ecosystem. Among the available various types of heavy metal ions, cadmium is widely used in many industrial applications and is also considered as the hazardous heavy metal ion even in low level of concentration. In this present work, an attempt has been made to utilize the recycled black toner powder as a low cost adsorption material in the removal of toxic cadmium heavy metal ion. Batch adsorption technique was used for the removal of cadmium heavy metal ion. The experiments were conducted by varying the pH values from 3, 5 and 7, contact time from 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 min and the dosage of the adsorbent from 2, 4, 6 and 8 g/L. Experimental results shows that the cadmium heavy metal ions were effectively removed for pH value of 5 and increasing the adsorbent dosage doesn't aid in increasing the adsorption rate. Rapid adsorption of cadmium heavy metal ions was observed only during the first 30 min of contact time and it reached equilibrium after contact time of 45 min. 2021</text>

<text>Artificial intelligence (AI) improves the efficiency of work and effectiveness in the output. Currently, food processing industries have started using AI in their business operations. It is crucial to have an in-depth understanding of the adoption and usage of AI systems in food processing industries. Therefore, this paper validates the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) in the context of the food processing industry. This study applied AI to the food processing industries in the Bengaluru region. The study's objective is to build a clear vision of the factors that affect the user acceptance and behaviour intention of the user by pilot test. The pilot survey collected 62 responses through the questionnaire. The respondents were employees from the food processing industries in Bengaluru. The reliability test of the questionnaire was done by using Jamovi 2.3.16 software. The questionnaire was tested in three ways: Cronbach Alpha, McDonalds Omega, and Inter-rater reliability. The results of the entire test were reliable since overall Cronbach Alpha of 0.874, which is within the range of 0.800.90, and considered good internal consistency. Similarly, McDonalds Omega is within the range of 0.800.90, which is excellent consistency, and Inter-rater reliability is within the range of moderately acceptable scores from 50 to 75%. 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.</text>

<text>Emerging literature examines implications of parental socialisation of positive affect (PA) for children's socio-emotional functioning, though little is known about predictors of parental PA socialisation behaviours in diverse families around the world. Based on the literature that suggests that parental cognitions (Okagaki & Bingham, 2005) and their own mood state contribute to their parenting (Dix & Meunier, 2009), we examined two parent-related factors (parental beliefs regarding PA and depressive symptoms) as predictors of parental responses to their adolescents' PA in an urban middle-class sample of mothers and fathers from India (N = 267; 40.4% mothers). Parents completed measures of their PA-related beliefs, depressive symptomatology, and their responses to adolescents' PA at two-time points, 5 months apart. Parental PA-related beliefs showed low stability and depressive symptoms showed moderate stability across time. There were concurrent bivariate associations between parental PA-related beliefs and their socialisation behaviours, though these relations did not hold in multivariate path analyses across time. Parental depressive symptoms at T1 inversely predicted family savouring at T2 and positively predicted dampening at T2. These findings provide the first line of evidence indicating that parental cognitions and their own mood contribute to their emotion-related parenting behaviours in India. 2022 The Authors. <text>Abstract: Scattering of light by disordered structures is normally detrimental to their applicability in many optoelectronic devices. However, some micro and nanostructures are useful in enhancing several optical and thermal properties like emission, heat diffusion etc. For this purpose, we have optimized the low temperature hydrothermal growth method for the ZnO micro tubes which leads to the growth of ZnO as mono dispersed micro tubes. Further, these samples were used to enhance the fluorescence efficiency of disordered media consisting of micro tubes of ZnO and fluorescein dye and to optimize the thermal diffusion of the mixture which will help us optimize the composition of these microscopic inclusions in designing a random lasing medium. Dual beam thermal lens method was used for this purpose. 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.</text>

<text>The conventional methods of smart farming consume a significant percentage of the resources such as water, electricity, and manpower. This approach demands more time, money, and effort. The state of the art drip irrigation methods make use of the solenoid valve to control the water flow. The problem with such a system is reflected in its power consumption which is a significant factor for large-scale demands. The method proposed in this paper addresses this problem by developing an automated drip irrigation system that replaces components used in conventional methods with its economical counterparts in the market. A system using Node MCU, DC submersible motor, and soil moisture sensor is developed to automate the irrigation process ensuring efficient water and energy consumption. Since the proposed system utilizes economically cheaper components, it provides an upper edge over other systems in terms of expenditure and in turn economically feasible for large-scale demands. A mobile application is also developed to control, monitor, and schedule irrigation processes. The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.</text>

<text>People are being thermally screened in hospitals and in such facilities, all the data collected must be stored and displayed. The person responsible for keeping track of people's body temperatures must put in more time and effort. This approach is a tedious task, especially during times of dealing with the pandemic diseases like Covid-19. Hence, in this paper, an automated contactless continuous temperature monitoring system is designed to eliminate this time-consuming process. If a person's temperature is too high, that is, higher than the usual temperature range, the system records it and monitors it continuously via a mobile application. In this paper, we present the development of an Automated contactless continuous body temperature monitoring system using a Raspberry Pi camera and mobile application. 2023 IEEE.</text>

<text>Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explore the primary factors that contribute to food waste. Additionally, it creates practical strategies to cope with food waste and encourages to perform sustainable practices to improve the environment. Additionally, the study presents an analytical framework for supply chain problems as well as the methods that are environmentally friendly. Methodology: The research begins by defining how sustainable development should be incorporated in the hospitality sector and by briefly outlining its attributes. Next, it discusses the expanding interest in supply chain management and outlines an overview of the breadth of academic research on sustainability in the literature related to the hotel industry. Findings: The paper examines the enormous ecological and economic effects of food waste, including how it contributes to the adverse global warming, the dwindling of natural resources, and also the loss of worthwhile financial investments. Additionally, it highlights the social effects of food wastage, such as how it contributes to gaps in access to nourishing foods and food insecurity. Research Limitations: It attempts to shed light on the scope of food loss, identify major contributing variables, and suggest methods to reduce food loss along the whole supply chain through an examination of current literature and data. Practical Implication: The practical application of this research is to offer evidence-based insights and practical recommendations to policymakers, organizations, and people with an aim to decrease food waste and enhance the effectiveness of the food system. <text>Food has seen numerous transformations over the centuries and has been a focus of study pertaining to culture and evolution. Besides being a celebration of diversity and a marker of human adaptations, food is also a broad knowledge domain that represents various geographic, cultural and lifestyle outlooks. Ethnic food relates to a heritage or the culture of an ethnic group with them incorporating the local produce and animal sources into their diet. Ethnic food also has a sustainability aspect to it in terms of food miles and carbon emissions since more transportation involved means higher level of GHG released, economic aspect such as with composition changes and food security, and community relationship. This paper finds that when consumer awareness of ethnic food increases, the consumption attitude towards it does, too. This could be of importance in policy implementation and identifying sustainability systems. A connection with the land and a community relationship involving food could help represent more ethnic food, to increase awareness on a global level and also allow more people to experience these vast cultural diversities. If understood well and implemented, ethnic food could be of use as a tourism brochure, sustainability driver, economical promoter and community supporter. The Electrochemical Society</text>

<text>Purpose: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a unique key element considered in the hotel diligence which is extremely thriving plus competitive market at present. The study purpose is to identify how CRM can be strategy tactics for solution as business attitudes towards the hotels. It generates nine different items with regards to CRM. Design/methodology/approach: The study progressed in four phases. The empirical data were collected. A sample of 100, four, five and five star luxury hotels was considered for the study. To explore CRM process in hotel industry, an analysis was carried out to identify different CRM levels (performance and importance). The study was tested and analyzed by adopting a scale developed by Reinartz, Krafft and Hoyer. Findings: The result largely supports the CRM process developed in hotels theoretically but does not seem to have the balance between the CRM levels evenly. Crucial discoveries of the learning are firstly, CRM remains characterized via nine different items in the hotel diligence connecting to Measure, Acquisition, Regain, Maintain, Retain, Cross up, Referrals, Termination Measure and Exit. The best predictor of CRM is the items on performance level referred as Measure followed by Regain and Acquisition and on the importance level, Referrals followed by Cross-up and Regain. Practical Implications: The result suggests that the hotels must understand today's customer's wants and needs. The hotels need to be more proactive in developing a balance between CRM levels for effective CRM in hotel diligence. Novelty/assessment: The learning highlights the importance of CRM and its relationship in service industries in the literature. The study focuses in particular on CRM in hotel industry and the linkage between the CRM levels (Performance and Importance).</text>

A conveyor system designed to collect and deliver guest laundry is proposed with this innovation. The system comprises of two parts, an inbuilt chute inside the bathroom for the guest to drop their soiled clothing which is received at the laundry' room; and a chute from the laundry room to the guestroom’s closet for returning the laundered guest clothing. Thus, the human intervention involved in the process of guest laundry is greatly reduced.</text>

<text>Social relationships have been declining over the years, especially after the pandemic. Therefore, it becomes important to understand what influences ones social relationships. The present study investigated the influence of self-compassion, self-reflection, and insight on interpersonal competence among emerging adults. It also aimed to understand if having a psychology background in education and experience of therapy is associated with the participants levels of self-compassion, self-reflection, and insight. Using convenience sampling, a sample of N = 335 undergraduate and postgraduate students was selected to answer the Self-Compassion Scale Short Form, Self-Reflection and Insight Scale, and Interpersonal Competence Questionnaire that were circulated electronically along with a consent form. Statistical analysis using Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression indicated that self-compassion, self-reflection, and insight each have positive relationships with interpersonal competence with self-compassion and self-reflection together significantly predicting 13.5% variance in interpersonal competence. Analysis using independent samples t-test indicated that there are significant differences in self-reflection and insight scores between those who have experience in psychology education and therapy and those who lack them. These findings strengthen the understanding that aspects of oneself are related to their social relationships and strengths and problems in one domain could be linked to the same in others. Future research can focus on developing interventions aimed at improving interpersonal competence through self-compassion and self-reflection. Further, influence of other aspects of self on interpersonal competence can also be explored to strengthen the proposed theory of relationship between self and others. <text>UV emitting nanophosphors draws attention from many researchers currently due to the diverse applications ranging from UV LEDs to phototherapy. The current work is an investigation of monoclinic yttrium oxide doped with cerium synthesized by means of wet chemical precipitation at low temperature (90 C). Raman analysis and TEM experiments confirmed the formation of monoclinic phase and XPS analysis proves the presence of Ce3+ energy levels. UV experiments delivered strong absorption in the short UV region and photoluminescence experiments demonstrated the material's capability to emit in the long UV region. Surface area measurements by BET analysis established the relationship between the BET surface area and luminescence intensity. This emission range is suitable for therapeutical application especially for skin diseases which further extends the scope of the work. 2023 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.</text>

donor/acceptor units. The lone pair electrons and conjugated structures of these heterocyclic molecules assist in tuning of electronic properties enabling their use in devices like dye sensitized solar cells, organic light emitting diodes etc. However, the design and synthesis of organic ligands for these applications is still a challenging task. Though we have made an effort in this direction fabricating a dye sensitized solar cell with benzimidazole based sensitizer, the moderate Stokes shift and efficiency prompted us to tune these molecules and improve their electronic properties. Considering that some of the benzimidazole / benzothiazole fluorophores possessing metal-ion chelating properties and having hydrogen donor-acceptor sites in close proximity play vital role in sensor and bioimaging applications, we have designed and synthesized novel fluorophores for metal ion sensing applications. Since most of the available literature shows studies on fluorophores with single excited state intramolecular proton transfer sites or dual proton transfer sites with symmetrical structures, we have considered investigating fluorophores having asymmetrical structures and proton donating sites. In this perspective, we have synthesized and conducted spectroscopic and density functional theory studies on some novel fluorophores based on benzimidazole / benzothiazole Schiff bases and the details are presented in this thesis.</text>
