Green nanotechnology, which uses carbon nanomaterials for environmental remediation, is the pioneer among the prevailing approaches for the production and characterization. In the present study, highly fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) from Ruta Graveolens (ARH-CD) is developed, and its efficacy as a fluorescent sensor and biomarker is investigated. They act as a fluorescence sensor for Hg2+ over an extensive concentration range of 1 picomolar (pm) to 1 molar (m), with a detection limit as low as 26.75 pm. The studies reveal ARH-CD as an effective biomarker for intracellular toxicity analysis and a fluorescent probe for multi-colored (blue, green, and red) imaging of HEK293 cell lines. After 24 h of incubation, it is found that the ARH material reveals noticeable biocompatibility and visible fluorescence, with a viability of 98.88% at 5 gmL?1 and over 78.33% even at a concentration of 100 gmL?1. The IC50 value for the MTT assay for cell viability results is calculated to be 224.56 4.67 g, which further confirms the appreciable biocompatibility of the ARH-CD. The obtained samples are effective in being inspected for the intracellular detection of Hg2+ and serve as a possible candidate for cell imaging. 2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

Background: The caregivers of persons with motor neuron disease (MND) have several needs that are usually not voiced on any platform. Aim: To explore the lived experience of spouses of persons with MND, identify their needs and develop guidelines for better home-based care. Method: An exploratory study with 3-point in-depth interviews among 13 participants was conducted. Participants were the spouses of persons with MND under treatment at a national quaternary referral center. The interpretative phenomenological analysis identified participants needs. These needs, with literature review synthesis, guided the drafting of guidelines, which was validated by experts. Results: The needs were emotional, social, care systems, and skills. The guidelines developed contained 2 sections (1) Information for the spouses: understanding MND, communication, symptom management, marital relationship, palliative care, and everyday life made easier. (2) Well-being of the spouse caregivers: well-being of the spouse caregivers, self-care, mental health, supporting carers in palliative care, where to find help. Conclusion: The guidelines can be developed as a manual for the caregivers and for training healthcare professionals working with neurodegenerative conditions. The Author(s) 2022.

Additive manufacturing, often known as 3D printing, is a process that involves the manufacture of physical things in a manner that is similar to building them up layer by layer. As a result of its utilization of automated procedures to generate complicated three-dimensional forms, which are either difficult or impossible to produce using conventional methods, fused deposition modeling is a typical approach that uses heat to assist in the extrusion process. The term "high-performance polymer" refers to a group of polymer materials that are known to maintain their desirable mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties when subjected to harsh environments such as high temperatures, high pressures, and corrosive chemicals. The present study aimed to develop interactive e-content, conduct expert validation, and examine the appropriate level. The researchers used a purposive sampling technique to select the sample of 100 secondary school students and 35 teachers from the Kerala state scheme. The researchers adopted the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model to develop interactive e-content. The study employed two quantitative methods. Firstly, the study administered expert validation sheets to three content and two media experts to validate developed interactive e-content. The study utilized the percentage analysis to evaluate the results of the expert validation sheets. Secondly, the study administered a survey questionnaire to 100 secondary school students and 35 teachers to examine the appropriate level of interactive e-content. The study employed the correlation method to analyze the questionnaire results, examining the strength and direction of relationships between variables. The average score of content expert validation is 95.5% and media expert validation is 91.5% confirm that the developed interactive e-content is highly valid and appropriate. A major challenge for the researchers was the insufficient internet speed in rural areas of Kerala. The study recommends that teachers have to develop interactive multimedia teaching-learning aids to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW) among students. 2026 Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. Internet of Things platforms deployed on the system will exhibit numerous benefits such as real time monitoring, faster operation and cost effectiveness. A system oriented IoT platform is developed which features database connotation, web services, setup portal, cloud hosting, drivers or listener for programming languages and hardware devices. The functional parameters of transformer in electrical power system vary around the limit and beyond, which is observed by the IoT platform for remote analysis and to report deformation in the winding. The frequency response measurement from the transformer terminal unit is send to cloud database which is then fetched to remote application through IoT client. At remote monitoring tool, the diagnostic algorithm is executed to estimate the location and extent of deformation. Internalizing and externalizing behavioral issues among children tend to appear together and are often interrelated. A combination of Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) and Mindfulness is theoretically promising in reducing the co-occurrences of internalizing and externalizing issues. In this study, we developed and validated MBSFT-C, which addresses internalizing and externalizing behavioral issues. Preliminary components of MBSFT-C were developed, integrating the philosophies of Mindfulness and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. We used a two-round Delphi survey to finalize and validate these components. In the first round, the experts provided a free-text review of the initial components of MBSFT-C, which were then analyzed thematically using QDA Miner v2.0.9 software. In the second round, the experts evaluated the final components of MBSFT-C and reached a consensus using a 10-point visual analog scale. Thematic analysis of review 1 revealed three themes, Validation, Additions, and Modifications, based on which the final draft of MBSFT-C was developed. The final draft included two major components, Mindful Solution Focused Engagement and Family Mindfulness Skills. All the components of MBSFT-C achieved international expert consensus with a 70% agreement in review 2. The mean score for components by the experts ranged between 7.50 and 8.00 out of 10 on a visual analog scale, with a standard deviation ranging from 1.94 to 2.95. MBSFT-C will provide clinicians with a well suited, empirically developed, manualized comprehensive therapy that meets the special requirements of children. 2025 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

Carbon nanocomposites have garnered much attention among various nanomaterials newlineowing to their well-defined characteristics, such as large surface area, biocompatibility, newlineand concise synthetic routes. They are also a viable contender for fluorescence and newlineelectrochemical applications, notably sensing, due to their intriguing photoluminescence and electrochemical features. Fluorescence and Electrochemical sensors for environmental pollutants are constructed using carbon quantum dots with different surface functionalization (functionalized with boric acid, organic dyes, polymer composite, and 2-aminothiazole). The developed sensor was considered as potential material for detecting heavy metal ions and organic pollutants. Surface morphology was analyzed using Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), an X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), Raman spectra, X-Ray Photoelectron spectroscopy newline(XPS), Optical Profilometry, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) newlinestudies. UV-Visible and photoluminescence spectroscopy reveals the absorption, newlineemission, and excitation spectra for the synthesized sensor with and without the addition of analytes. In electrochemical investigations, Nyquist plots showed that the modified working electrodes had the lowest charge transfer resistance when compared to other working electrodes. The effect of pH, ionic strength, long-term storage ability, and quantum yield were optimized for the fabricated fluorescence sensor. For the newlineelectrochemical sensor, the influence of the scan rate and the appropriate thickness of newlinethe electrodeposited film was carefully examined in order to achieve the highest current responsiveness and potential window. Quantification of the analytes was performed newlineusing Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET), Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV), newlineand the square wave voltammetry technique (SWV). The designed sensor was used to newlinecarry out analytical corroboration for the real samples.

Background: Pregnancy is a state, which is often associated with extreme joy and happiness. Women undergo a number of physiological and psychological changes during pregnancy, which are often stressful if aligned with other adverse life events, compromising their health and well-being. However, there exists no comprehensive psychological instruments for measuring this stress. Objectives: The study was conducted to develop a multidimensional scale to assess prenatal maternal stress (PNMS) comprehensively. Methods: The initial phase of the study focuses on developing items and assessing the content validity of these items. The second phase focuses on pilot-testing and field-testing the newly developed perceived PNMS scale (PPNMSS) among 356 pregnant women belonging to different parity and trimester from November 2015 to October 2016. Results: The underlying factor structure of the 28-item PPNMSS had explored using exploratory factor analysis. The final scale is retained with 15 items having considerable item loading under four major factors as follows: perceived social support, pregnancy-specific concerns, intimate partner relations, and financial concerns. Reliability of each of these dimensions was assessed using Cronbach's alpha. Convergent and divergent validity of the scale was assessed by correlating the scores with perceived stress scale and the World Health Organization (five) well-being index (1998 version). Conclusions: As a comprehensive scale, PPNMSS is efficient to measure PNMS, which facilitates an early detection of stress and depression among pregnant women and timely intervention by health care professionals.

The present health scenario indicates that thyroid diseases are a common challenge experienced by most individuals. According to the statistics in India, one out of eight women suffer from thyroid-related conditions. Hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, or thyroid cancer are categories of thyroid disorder. It is imperative to maintain optimum levels of secretion of the thyroid hormones as the imbalance could lead to thyroid diseases. Therefore, thyroid patients must be vigilant regarding their iodine intake and follow a customized daily diet and exercise plan. The diet plan, along with balanced iodine levels, must also be able to meet the patient's nutritional needs. A personalized diet plan could help thyroid patients to be more aware and focused on their body metabolism. Existing recommender systems usually provide generic diet recommendations, and unfortunately, it may not be beneficial to patients suffering from a specific disease. Content-based Neighborhood-Conditional RBM (CB-NCRBM) model has posited to recommend Top-3 diet and exercise plans for thyroid patients. The proposed model considers the joint probability distribution of different scores using the user profile. Similarly, preference and health scores are estimated based on content features. The model feeds these scores as visible units to conditional RBM. The proposed model also integrates several content-based features such as users' physiological profiles, thyroid disease information, food, and exercise preferences. The proposed recommender model validates the experimental results using recommendation error and classification accuracy metrics. The proposed hybrid model outperforms several popularly used recommendation models, such as collaborative filtering, content-based, and pure RBM models. The system also provides a feedback loop to enhance the quality of the recommended diet and exercise plans based on user experience.
