Exploring motivations, impact, and coping mechanisms of post-dating on female dating app users
Description

Online dating apps are a popular platform for forming new connections. Generally, a virtual acquaintance intensifies between the users, eventually converting it into an offline relationship. Despite the anonymity of users being a prime motivation to initiate a conversation, it does pose challenges, including mental health issues and sexual abuse. There are increasing reports of privacy violations, extortions, cyberstalking, and sexual assaults connected with dating apps. While people in a relationship decide to set boundaries to avoid each other, both users go through an uncomfortable phase. Unless both parties mutually share the responsibility, the relationship issues are not sorted out without going through an abusive phase. One person's separation anxiety might become a physical manifestation, including virtual and physical assaults. The current study relies on focus group discussions to understand postdating app manifestations and its impact on female dating app users. The study of war has long been confined to disciplines such as history, political science, and journalism. However, with the evolution of modern conflicts and the shifting global landscape, it is imperative that scholars also explore more unconventional or often overlooked mediums, including literature, art, and music-not just to study how civilians respond to war and the trauma it leads to, but also the intricacies of war itself. This study examines war and conflict narratives through a cultural lens, using Critical Discourse Analysis of Letters of Enchantment (2023), a fantasy duology by Rebecca Ross. Fantasy fiction, once perceived as an escapist genre, has recently developed into a medium capable of exploring serious sociopolitical themes, including warfare, propaganda, and trauma. This study explores the ways in which the duology portrays war through themes of media influence, artistic expression, censorship, and music suppression, drawing parallels with real-world historical and contemporary conflicts. 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. This systematic literature review (1990-2024) of 120 peer-reviewed articles addresses a gap in understanding how media discourse shapes market sentiment through narrative mechanisms. Employing PRISMA guidelines, the study synthesizes the influence of linguistic framing, behavioral pathways, and systemic feedback loops on financial behaviors and macroeconomic outcomes. Findings indicate media both reflects and molds sentiment, disproportionately impacting non-expert investors and influencing algorithmic trading. Previous studies have shown that collaboration between school counsellors and other stakeholders such as teachers and administrators leads to improved outcomes for students and a better school climate. The current qualitative study explored the experiences and perceptions of novice school counsellors in India regarding collaboration with teachers and administrators. The sample included 11 novice school counsellors working in five different cities who were recruited using purposive sampling. The thematic analysis of the data collected via semistructured interviews revealed six main themes: 'Counsellors' perceptions about collaboration', 'Collaboration with teachers', 'Collaboration with administrators', 'Challenges faced during collaboration', 'Strategies helpful in collaboration' and 'Impact of training'. Implications discussed include the need for school counsellors to advocate for their role, the need for training programs to prepare stakeholders for collaboration, and the need for policies to integrate the role of a school counsellor into schools. Global warming is a complex problem with far-reaching global implications. One of its notable repercussions is the escalation of CO2 levels in the atmosphere, resulting in the phenomenon known as Ocean Acidification (OA). In this research, we have established a correlation between four key factors: marine species, human population, CO2 levels, and ocean pH. By formulating a Caputo fractional differential equation, we investigated the dynamics of these variables to evaluate the significance of this climatic phenomenon. The model analysis reveals that the rise in anthropogenic CO2 emissions causes a reduction in the oceans pH level and increases OA.This process, in turn, decreases the oceans ability to absorb CO2, making it less effective in mitigating climate change. In this study, it was demonstrated that elevated levels of CO2 result in a reduction in pH levels, which in turn causes a decrease in the population of marine species that play a critical role in numerous economic sectors such as tourism, aquaculture, and fisheries. Moreover, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the influence exerted by the intrinsic growth rate of the human population. We examined various theoretical aspects, including the assessment of existence and uniqueness. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the effect of key parameters on the dynamics of the system using the generalized AdamsBashforthMoulton method. The Author(s) 2024.

Background: Mental health apps (MHapps) have the potential to become an essential constituent for addressing mental health disparities and influencing the psychological outcomes of students in India. Though lauded as a practical approach to preventing various mental health issues, there are concerns that developing and utilizing MHapps standardized on Western populations produce ineffective results for the natives of Asian countries such as India due to a wide range of cultural differences. This research was conducted on psychology students living in the Delhi-NCR region of the Indian subcontinent. The study explored psychology students perceptions, needs, and preferences regarding mental health apps that promote resilience, identified barriers and facilitators for developing effective mental health apps, and explored the cultural relevance of the development of MHapps in India. Methods: This was an exploratory study utilizing focus group discussions among psychology students. Psychology students were sampled using snowball sampling from Delhi-NCR region colleges to participate in FGDs. We conducted six focus groups, which included a representation of 30 psychology students from full-time UG/PG courses. The study used a reflexive thematic analysis framework using the six-step Braun and Clarke process to develop themes. Results: Psychology students valued MHapps for their easy accessibility, 24*7 functionality, affordable costs, highly engaging features, and the option of being anonymous. However, students preferred the apps based on established psychological frameworks with strong empirical evidence and the availability of remote mental health professionals with relevant qualifications and training. The main barriers to using MHapps identified by students included difficulties in differentiating between real and fake MHapps, lack of progress tracking of the users due to minimal human interactions, and ethical and data privacy concerns. Students also emphasized the cultural relevance of MHapps. The interpretation of our findings indicates that students demanded transparency regarding the authenticity of MHapps. Conclusion: The findings of this exploratory investigation offer a better understanding of how college students perceive the usage of MHapps to improve resilience. This study highlights that further research should explore the specific needs and preferences of university students for developing and implementing effective MHapps for different contexts. This study explores different perspectives on the risk factors of mental health problems among adolescents using a dual method approach. 12 mental health professionals were interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. Nine Focus Group Discussions were conducted with parents, teachers and school going adolescents (aged 12-18). Data were transcribed and analysed using content analysis. Common codes and categories were extracted from both the methodologies thus, representing triangulation and trustworthiness of findings. The results show seven major coding categories including self concept, coping mechanisms, parenting principles and family dynamics, teacher-student dynamics, peer interaction and media. Participants across the groups described the relevance of these categories in the mental health of adolescents. The findings were illustrated using Bronfenbrenners ecological systems theory framework. The findings have important implications in terms of identification and management of mental health difficulties in adolescents especially from a preventive perspective. The findings conclude that risk factors exist within the individual as well the contextual systems which make an adolescent vulnerable to a number of mental health problems. The findings can be included in the primary prevention framework by identifying and modifying these risk factors and therefore, delaying the progression of mental health difficulties into a major disorder. 2022 RESTORATIVE JUSTICE FOR ALL.

Exploring private university attractiveness from students perspective to ensure sustainable institutes: an empirical investigation from Indian perspective

Purpose: This study aims to explore various determinants of university attractiveness and its relationship with sustainable institutes. Further, the study examines the mediating role of perceived student support and sense of belongingness on the relationship between university attractiveness and sustainable institutes. Design/methodology/approach: The data analysis was conducted with 637 responses from the students from private universities located in the northern region of India. Variance based partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied in the study to investigate the proposed conceptual model on sustainable higher institutions. Additionally, by applying PLS Predict, the predictive relevance of sustainable institutions with important and performing constructs was found out. Findings: The results of this study indicate that university attractiveness plays a critical role in enhancing perceived student support, and it has a direct and significant impact on developing sustainable institutes. Further, students sense of belongingness is expressed as significant mediator between university attractiveness and sustainable institutes. The predictive relevance of the study was reported to be high. Most important indicators of university attractiveness were found to be teaching, research and publications, branding and promotion, and diversity in courses offered by the private universities. Research limitations/implications: The conceptual model under study can be investigated with a moderating effect of private and government universities in future. Additionally, the role of additional variables in online scenario under current pandemic situation can be assessed through the model used in this study. Future research can be done by using qualitative analysis through thematic analysis and sentiment analysis of students in higher education institutes. Originality/value: The present study is the first to explore the mediating relationship of perceived student support and sense of belongingness with university attractiveness and sustainable institutes. The conceptual framework can prove to be important for education specialists, administrators of education institutes at university level and policymakers. The growing demand for sustainable and efficient energy storage systems has driven the development of advanced, durable, and cost-effective materials. This study introduces heterostructures of 2D Cr2CTx MXene and NiFe2O4, leveraging their synergistic properties, such as high conductivity, surface termination groups (-OH, -O, and -F), tunable surface chemistry, and rich redox activity. Comprehensive structural and morphological characterization confirms the enhanced functionality of Cr2CTx/NiFe2O4, which exhibits a remarkable specific capacitance of 1719.5 F g?1 with 88% retention over 5000 cycles in a three-electrode system. Additionally, the asymmetric supercapacitor device demonstrates a specific capacitance of 486.66 F g?1, an energy density of 97.66 W h kg?1, and a power density of 1203.95 W kg?1, retaining 94% of its capacitance after 5000 cycles. A plausible charge transfer mechanism in the composite is discussed, providing new insights into the synergistic Cr2CTx/NiFe2O4 heterostructures as high-performance materials for energy storage applications. 2025 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

This paper explores how Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are conceived and are poised for growth in Indias financial domain. REITs bring the opportunity for ordinary investors to invest in real estate based income generating assets with the added advantages of liquidity, transparency and control of SEBI regulation (2019). A closer look at how Indias listed REITs have performed to date, and what impact they have had on capital markets, investor preference and real estate development (Sharma and Iyer 2021). The results suggest that REITs may contribute in attracting additional capital to the real estate industry and The results indicate that REITs can significantly facilitate capital flow into the real estate industry and democratize property investment in India. The article emphasizes future prospects and policy concerns vital for the evolution of the REIT sector in India through worldwide benchmarking and empirical analysis (World Bank 2020). This qualitative study explores how economic dependency within a system of patriarchy shapes the experiences of reproductive autonomy among nine married women aged 2050 years (mean age 44.6 years) in India. In-depth interviews were conducted using purposive and snowball sampling. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarkes reflexive thematic analysis. Eight themes revealed three interconnected layers: structural forces (economic dependency and familial control), negotiated agency (micro-level resistance within patriarchal constraints), and cultural reproduction (culturally embedded gendered norms). Findings connect to feminist standpoints and Marxist feminist theories, demonstrating the need for interventions addressing economic independence within larger structural and cultural transformation. 2026 Society for Menstrual Cycle Research.

Gift-giving is universal human behavior. It has been extensively studied for its cultural, psychological, and economic significance. This study aims to showcase the efforts of various researchers and the journals that share their work with readers. It looks at publication trends, areas of research, and research patterns based on bibliographic analysis using data mining. 86 articles from Scopus were analyzed. Various techniques like three-field plot, bibliographic coupling of documents, term co-occurrence maps, bar charts, line graphs were used. The findings reveal an increasing trend in publications and citations. The leading contributions are from the United States, United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Notable emerging topics include virtual gifting, impression management, joint gift-giving, and the influence of live-streaming platforms. Term co-occurrence and bibliographic coupling analyses identified major areas of focus, such as consumer behavior, cultural values, and peer dynamics. These insights demonstrate the evolution of gift-giving studies, particularly the shift toward online and digital contexts. These findings will help future researchers by providing them with a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in Gift-Giving behavior. This study integrates the Health Belief Model and Theory of Planned Behavior to examine factors influencing revenge travel intentions to offbeat destinations, including perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, attitude, social norms, and perceived behavioral control. It also explores the moderating role of social media influencer information search. Data from 363 online survey responses were analyzed using SmartPLS and structural equation modeling. Results show that constructs from both models significantly impact revenge travel intentions to offbeat destinations, with attitude and perceived behavioral control as partial mediators. Notably, social media information search strengthens the positive link between attitudes toward offbeat tourism and revenge travel intentions to offbeat destinations. The proposed model outperforms the original models in predictive capacity. The study acknowledges its limitations and discusses theoretical and practical implications for understanding revenge travel behavior to offbeat destinations. 2026 The Author(s). The objectification theory proposes that membership in sexually objectifying societies gradually socializes queer individuals to adopt an observers perspective on their physical self, which in turn leads to negative emotional and behavioral consequences. The queer community in India has existed for centuries, but their rights have only received attention recently. They still continue to be deprived of societal and legal status. With an aim to understand self-objectification among the queer community in India, this qualitative study attempts to explore the interplay of external factors and their relationships in shaping self-image and self-acceptance. This phenomenological study used an interpretive paradigm on the self-objectification of members of the queer community in India. The study was conducted on 10 individuals from the queer community using semi-structured interviews, and the obtained data was analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings indicate the profound impact of societal beauty norms, family dynamics, peer interactions, and media influence on their self-esteem, body image, and identity. Implications of these findings call for increased awareness, education, and support to create a more inclusive and accepting environment for the queer community. Future recommendations include the development of interventions, educational programs, and mental health support services tailored to the needs of this community. 2025 The Author(s). Through experiment trials utilizing K-means and DBSCAN clustering techniques, valuable insights have been gleaned. These findings underscore the significance of judiciously selecting clustering algorithms and parameter settings to achieve meaningful segmentation of e-commerce data. Effective utilization of clustering algorithms empowers businesses to discern valuable insights into customer behavior, preferences, and patterns. Consequently, businesses can tailor their strategies to deliver personalized experiences, targeted marketing campaigns, and optimized product recommendations. With the increase adoption of humanoid robots in today's world, the need to understand the ways through which these robots communicate social cues has become indispensable for effective human-robot interaction (HRI) in everyday life. The focus of this study is on the examination of the influence of nonverbal behaviour of Robosen K1 (a humanoid robots) on human perceptions and emotional responses. K1 was programmed to perform expressive full-body movements, due its lack of facial expressions, such as dancing, push-ups, and standing on its head. The research design was a mixed-method approach, which combined behavioural observations from live interactions with data from an online survey. Findings from the study revealed positive emotional reactions from participants, most of which described the robot as 'impressive', 'curious', and 'amusing'. Also, results indicated that 89.8% of participants were favourably disposed to engaging with similar robots in the future. Finally, it was found that the robot's gestures, being highly expressive, contributed to perceived personality traits such as 'playful' and 'friendly'. The study, therefore, concluded that a well-designed non-verbal cues would play critical role in enhancing emotional connection, engagement, and trust in humanoid robots, hence, their importance for successful HRI design. 2025 IEEE.

Social media plays a significant role in bringing the world together with just a click. However, social media addiction is rapidly increasing, especially among the youth, which affects their mental health and well-being. Instagram is one of the social media sites that is used mainly by students. Due to increasing exposure to Instagram, including the short videos, called Reels, today's students consume the content at an alarming rate, thus becoming addicted to it. College students tend to relentlessly use Instagram, without considering the time and energy wastage or addressing its impact on their mental health and well-being. The present study aimed to (1) explore the relationship between Instagram usage and mental well-being among college students in India, and (2) examine whether Instagram usage serves as a meaningful predictor of students mental well-being. The findings reveal a significant negative correlation (r=?0.332, p<.001) between Instagram usage and students well-being, indicating that higher Instagram use is associated with lower levels of mental well-being among college students. Further, a simple linear regression analysis confirmed that Instagram usage is a significant predictor of well-being (F(1, 154)=19.099, p<.001), explaining a meaningful portion of the variance. The results highlight the need for educators, parents and other stakeholders to recognise the influence of social media, especially Instagram, on students mental health and well-being and develop strategies to promote healthier usage patterns. A network is a collection of objects/devices that are linked to one another through wired and wireless communication. Networks are everywhere, and they are formed to share resources among users. Nodes and edges form a network structure. Nodes describe the objects, whereas edges represent the connections between them. Network analysis is advantageous in a wide variety of live application activities. It enables us to get a thorough knowledge of the structure of a connection in social networks, the structure or process of development in environmental events, and even the study of organisms' biological systems. Additionally, network analysis allows the estimation of complex network patterns, and the network structure may be examined to disclose the network's basic features. If anyone examines a social connection among Facebook users, for example, the nodes indicate the target people and the edges reflect the connections between users, such as friendships or group memberships.
