<text>Purpose: With an industry 5.0 revolution taking place in the hospitality industry, a shift from manual to cognitive labor is anticipated, characterized by greater sustainability, resilience and a human-centric approach. In this regard, hospitality educators' ability and willingness to teach novel topics such as automation at work, upskilling of employees, man-machine interaction and service robots have become more important than ever. This study aims to interpret the perspectives of hospitality educators about bridging the gap in the employability skills of (next-gen) hospitality graduates and the concerns relating to career sustainability in times of transition. Design/methodology/approach: A case study method was used given the novelty of the topic in a developing country like India. A qualitative survey with open-ended questions, is employed to understand the viewpoints of Indian hospitality educators, including those with more than 15years of teaching experience. In-depth interviews were conducted with 23 hospitality educators to reach the theoretical saturation point. MAXQDA software was used to analyze the qualitative data collected in the study. Findings: The findings reveal the challenges and motivations of hospitality educators in adapting to frequently changing business environments. In doing so, it sheds light on the methods employed to create a generation of hospitality graduates aligned with the changing dynamics of the industry. Originality/value: The paper presents the viewpoints of hospitality educators in India in relation to a futuristic approach to next-gen employability and career sustainability. Whilst numerous studies have focused on the role of robots and artificial intelligence in replacing the human component of the service environment, the concept of people working alongside advanced technologies is fairly new and needs to be fully explored. 2023, Emerald Publishing Limited.</text>

<text>Cognitive cloud computing is an innovative paradigm that links intelligent systems with cloud infrastructure having distributed and scalable capabilities. Next-generation cloud intelligence is explored with regard to the foundational principles, enabling technologies, and emerging applications. It focuses on cognition cloud systems to maximize energy efficiency, improve predictive analytics, and encourage human-centric computing for various domains such as education, healthcare, finance, and environmental management, including sustainability. Some of the enabler technologies for AI are natural language processing, computer vision, and speech recognition, and the advancement of AI integration, neuromorphic computing, and quantum-enhanced models. The coming of bloc, edge, and the cognitive security mechanisms make it the basis for an invulnerable, transparent, and context-aware system. The chapter also explores green data centers, energy-efficient algorithms, and circular economy principles. The ethical development of cognitive cloud systems is critically analyzed, and data privacy, algorithmic bias, explainability, and regulatory frameworks are considered as challenges for their ethical development. In general, the contribution of this work is to provide a complete framework for the analysis of the impact that cognitive computing can have to make over cloud-based ecosystems as intelligent, adaptable, and eco-friendly platforms through the means of digital infrastructure and AI-driven services. 2026 selection and editorial matter, Jossy George, Kamal Upreti, Ramesh Chandra Poonia, Ankit Gautam, and Danish Nadeem; individual chapters, the contributors.</text>

<text>Generation Zs (Gen Z) role in the creation in maintenance of the circular economy is very important, as they have the potential to shape sustainable practices for future generations. This study aims to comprehend Gen Zs role in promoting environmental sustainability within the framework of the circular economy. An explanatory sequential research design has been adopted in order to achieve the objectives of this research article. The researchers have initially collected quantitative data from 941 respondents using a questionnaire. The respondents were selected based on a stratified random sampling approach. Following the quantitative analysis, qualitative data was collected via interviews with 18 Gen Z participants. Based on the quantitative data analysis, the study found that Gen Z exhibits a strong commitment to promoting circular economy. The results of the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) shows that recycling activity has the highest impact on achieving the principles of circular economy. Based on the qualitative analysis, this study discovered four main themes. The first theme was centred on Awareness of Circular Economy. The second theme explored the Integration of the Circular Economy on Personal Life. The third theme, probed into the Impact of the Circular Economy on Peoples Lives. While the final theme addressed Steps Towards Building an Active Circular Economy. UMT Press</text>

<text>Global System for Mobile communication - Railway (GSM-R) is widely used for operational communications between train and signaler. However, there is a need to define a successor that addresses: obsolescence, radio spectrum demand and the enabling of a range of emerging digital applications such as radio-based signaling and Automatic Train Control (ATC). Therefore, the International Union of Railways (UIC) started the initiative to develop the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS). This article describes an Adaptable Communication System (ACS) that is being developed jointly by industry and railway operators as a possible successor covering all types of railways and all aspects of the FRMCS. A pragmatic approach is suggested that considers diverse railway settings and makes use of various radio access technologies. Countries, geographical regions and infrastructure managers differ concerning available radio technologies, but use of a suitable ACS could pave the way towards innovation in the railway sector. For this adaptive concept we discuss several network models and enhancements including satellite communications (SatCom), Software-Defined Networking (SDN) integration and antenna systems that support multiple bearers in one. For SatCom a software defined radio (SDR) prototype using random access is presented that is able to fulfill the requirements of ETCS. We found that SDN can be used for dynamically changing the access technology for critical and non-critical railway use cases. Furthermore, we present an antenna prototype that can be used for 5G, GSM, WLAN and LTE in parallel which saves limited mounting surface on the train. 1979-2012 IEEE.</text>

<text>We examine the interplay among commercial bank loan terms, financial literacy, and formal loan accessibility for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Despite recent strides in integrating MSMEs into commercial bank portfolios via micro-lending initiatives, persistent challenges hinder their access to formal credit. Drawing from empirical data and existing literature, this study explores the nuanced impacts of loan terms and financial literacy on SMEs ability to secure formal loans. Addressing gaps in prior research, we concurrently analyse borrower characteristics and credit regulations influence on formal loan accessibility. <text>This study examines the complex dynamics of factors affecting self-efficacy (SE) and entrepreneurial intentions (EIs) among engineering students in India. It investigates the mediating role of SE in the relationships between entrepreneurial education (EE), entrepreneurial mindset (EM), entrepreneurial passion (EP), and EIs. The research reveals that SE remains stable across various personal characteristics, highlighting it as a robust individual trait less influenced by external factors. Gender significantly impacts EIs, underscoring its pivotal role in shaping entrepreneurial intentions, while other personal characteristics show limited influence. Passion and mindset appear to be consistent across demographics, suggesting they are intrinsic qualities. SE serves as a mediator in the connections between entrepreneurial mindset, passion, and intentions, elucidating its pivotal role in the entrepreneurial process. EE indirectly affects EIs and SE through other factors in the research model. Entrepreneurial passion directly influences both EIs and SE, emphasizing its role as a driving force for entrepreneurship. An entrepreneurial mindset doesn't directly affect intentions but significantly influences SE, indicating its importance in shaping self-efficacy, which in turn influences intentions. The findings can guide the development of educational programs and initiatives designed to promote entrepreneurship among engineering students in India while considering the impact of self-efficacy and gender-related factors. 2024, Iquz Galaxy Publisher. <text>This analytical study looks to provide recommendations to the banking sector on different policies and regulations by examining certain aspects of the Basel III accord, which was designed to manage specific operational, capital and market risks of banks. A review of extant literature reveals that only a few papers have been written on simulation-based approaches, using basis and re-pricing risks. We look to connect this as a source while attempting to define and measure the impact of interest rate risk (IRR) on the economic value of equity (EVE) of banks. We propose to use the driverdriven method, wherein interest rate shocks are derived through prime lending rate (PLR) for the period of 20162019 in the context of India. Monte Carlo Simulation and OLS regression was performed to predict the IRR; Granger causality was used to examine the cause and effect relationship; the impulse response function (IRF) was used for sensitivity analysis; and the vector error correction model (VECM) technique was used for co-integrating relationships. Notably, the EVE movement caused due to shocks in interest rates had to be traced as it envisages probable EVE losses. Importantly, our study is among the first few to show the relationship between IRR and EVE of banks, especially after the deregulation of Indian banking sector. 2021 International Management Institute, New Delhi.</text>

<text>Shareholding pattern of an organization determines the management control and decision making climate. Empirical researches have proved relationship among the type of shareholdings, managerial efficiency and stock returns in manufacturing sectors. This study investigates the relationship between the organizational shareholding pattern and financial performance of select services sector companies taking sample from listed financial services and Information technology firms from CNX500 Index for a period of five years. The study emphasizes on the significance of categorical distinctions among ownership and evaluating its influence on firm performance for investment decisions. Both accounting and market based approach of Firm performance has been considered using Tobin Q ratio and Return on Capital Employed as proxy. The results show that there is Insider owners dominance in services sector. A higher percentage of aggregate promoter and promoters group holdings are documented in services sector. The study also documents a positive and significant relationship between the firm performance as measured by market model and the percentage of shares held by promoters and Institutional bodies. In contrast, there is negative and insignificant influence of promoters holdings on the firm performance. However, Institutional shareholdings have a positive and significant influence. Dominant insiders ownership enhances management efficiency through excessive control for wealth maximization. IAEME Publication.</text>

<text>This paper examines the trends in fiscal revenue collections and the relationship between tax buoyancy and economic growth. In recent years, the responsiveness of revenue growth in relation to economic growth is a growing concern as we witness staggered tax revenue growth with the convergence of percentage contribution of direct taxes to the aggregate revenue with indirect taxes. Using the Log OLS model, for the period between 2000-2018 the variability in tax revenue due to the change in economic growth as measured by GDP was verified. We confirm the test results using M-estimation Robust Log-OLS. We critically appraise the policy interventions and administrative initiatives taken up to improve the buoyancy rate and suggest ways to enhance the voluntary tax compliance rate in the country. The studys findings show a significant relationship between tax revenue and economic growth, but it does not necessarily improve the tax buoyancy rate. Indian Institute of Finance.</text>

On the other hand, the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) generating consequences in the atmosphere. In this context, this study tries to analyse the association between GDP per capita, FDI, population, trade openness and CO2 emissions per capita in India. The study is based on secondary data, which has been collected from the World Bank database. The time period under consideration is from 1960 to 2017. Augmented Dickey Fuller test has been used to test the unit root. VAR lag order criteria have been used for lag selection of the model. Since the variables are integrated at I (1) and I (0), the ARDL model has been used for the purpose of analysis. Furthermore, for checking the stability of the model, the CUSUM test has been used. The results show that in the long run, GDP per capita and FDI has a positive impact on CO2 emission whereas, in the short run coal consumption, FDI, GDP per capita and trade openness appears to have a significant and positive impact towards CO2 emission. 2020 - Kalpana Corporation</text>

<text>Monetary policy and its transmissions have been debated by various schools of thought. The purpose of this paper is to empirically tests whether monetary policy has supply side effect influencing Indian economys total factor productivity. This study uses ARDL model to ascertain the long run relationship between monetary policy proxies and total factor productivity (TFP). Cointegration tests reveal that total factor productivity has a relationship with all of the monetary policy proxies. The ARDL results reveal a negative relationship between TFP and some monetary policy proxies in the short run, but a positive effect in the long run. These results showcase the possible supply side transmission of monetary policy in India, which can help in determining an optimal policy so as to augment TFP, an important driver of economic growth. The study only focusses on the Indian economy and spillover effects of other Asian economies on Indias TFP can also be examined. <text>This study focuses on the bioreduction of waste-derived graphite rods into reduced graphene oxide(rGO), followed by the fabrication with Ni-Co metal-organic flowers and Zinc oxide nanorods(ZnO NRs) using Nafion, for sensitive detection of neotame. The Ni-Co metal-organic flowers and ZnO NRs were synthesized using solvothermal synthesis and Azadirachta indica leaf extract, respectively. Additionally, Nafion polymer enhances the stability and conductivity of the nanocomposite. The nanocomposite was characterized using UVvis, Fourier transform infrared spectorscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, Dynamic light scattering, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Field-emission scanning electron microscopy, Energy-dispersive X-ray analsysis, Transmission electron microscopy, and Atomic force microscopy. The electrochemical studies were carried out using Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode (rGO/Nafion/Ni-Co MOF/ZnO NRs) demonstrated improved electrochemical activity (34.01 ?A) for neotame with an enhanced peak current at +0.73 V. The LOD and LOQ values were calculated and found to be 0.32 and 0.99 ?M with a recovery (%) ranging from 94.50 to 101.34%. The outcome of this study identifies the morphological and electrochemical factors as major contributors to the adsorption affinities and catalytical activities, with promising possibilities for the design of electrochemical sensing of artificial sweeteners. 2024 The Electrochemical Society (ECS). <text>Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, while multidrug-resistant bacterial infections pose escalating health threats. To address these challenges, nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiO Nanoparticles) and sodium alginatedopamineNiO-SA-Dop nanoparticles (NiO-SA-Dop Nanoparticles) were synthesized and extensively characterized for multifunctional biomedical applications. X-ray diffraction revealed crystallite sizes of 40.6nm (NiO) and 29.76nm (NiO-SA-Dop). Transmission electron microscope analysis confirmed spherical morphology with reduced particle size upon modification, supporting improved surface properties. UVvisible spectroscopy showed band gap energies of 4.15eV (NiO) and 4.44eV (NiO-SA-Dop). Photoluminescence spectra indicated enhanced green emission in NiO-SA-Dop, suggesting a higher concentration of oxygen vacancies Linked to increased reactive oxygen species Generation. In functional assays, NiO-SA-Dop demonstrated superior free radical scavenging efficiency in the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl assay compared to NiO. Strong antibacterial activity was observed against Gram-negative pathogens including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Vibrio cholerae, Escherichia coli, and Shigella dysenteriae. Cytotoxicity assays against HepG2 cells yielded IC?? values of 11.9g/mL for NiO and 10.3g/mL for NiO-SA-Dop, underscoring the enhanced anticancer efficacy of the modified nanoparticles. Overall, NiO-SA-Dop Nanoparticles exhibit promising antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer activities, making them strong candidates for advanced therapeutic development. <text>Transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have recently emerged as highly appealing and efficient options for electrodes in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), effectively substituting the scarce and expensive metal platinum (Pt). In this work, nickel telluride (NiTe2) quantum dots (QDs) were effectively used as a counter electrode for DSSCs by providing a sustainable alternative to the scarce platinum (Pt). The DSSC based on NiTe2 QDs shows a power conversion efficiency (?) of ?8.06%, which is comparatively better than exfoliated NiTe2 (? ? 6.58%). The density functional theory (DFT) was employed to comprehensively understand the underlying mechanisms involved in the charge transfer between the QDs and the electrolyte species. The outcomes demonstrated the benefits of creating diverse structural configurations designed to enhance interfacial transport, ensure an even distribution of active facets, and improve the electrocatalytic performance in the DSSC process.(Figure Presented). 2023 American Chemical Society.</text>

<text>Inkjet printing (IJP) is an efficient, simple, scalable and low-cost additive manufacturing technique for the deposition of functional materials on substrates used in flexible electronic devices, sensors, and light-emitting diodes to name a few. Nanoparticle ink, metal oxide decomposition (particle-free ink), polymer ink, and semiconductor ink are classifications of the inks used in IJP. Effective printing of the material is possible when the ink parameters (viscosity, particle size, surface tension) and its derived dimensionless quantities (Weber number, Reynolds' number, and Ohnesorge number) fall within a desirable range. The formation of the coffee-ring effect during the post-printing process is one of the major concerns, which affects the morphology and electrical conductivity of the printed pattern. In this review, a summary of recent developments of Ni-based inks in terms of formulation, sintering and properties is presented, along with the effect of combining Ni with other materials such as NiO, Ag, Cu, Zn, Fe, carbon, and rare earth metals on the film properties. The precursors and solvents used for the Ni ink preparation, along with the additives and surfactants, have been presented to understand their impact on the film's properties and develop a design to choose the ideal precursor-solvent pair. Finally, the challenges in formulating inks and the necessity to develop a model to optimize the choice of solvent/ precursor are presented. The model would improve the selection of additives and precursors and reduce material wastage and enhance performance with fewer defects. 2022 World Scientific Publishing Company.</text>

<text>Harnessing magnetic noise fields for sustainable energy harvesting offers a pervasive power source for wireless devices. In this context, recently developed 2D van der Waals heterostructures have emerged as promising candidates for advancing the fundamental understanding of magnetoelectric (ME) coupling and the development of nanoscale ME devices. This work investigates thermo-magneto-electric coupling to enable MoS2/MoTe2-based heterostructures for harvesting energy from stray magnetic fields. Furthermore, introducing a nickel layer further enhances interfacial interactions under a magnetic field, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations confirm its significant influence on the ME behavior of the heterostructures. The optimized flexible heterostructure demonstrated an open-circuit voltage of ?4.5V and a power density of ?2.12mW/cm3 under an alternating current (AC) magnetic noise field of 1.33 mT. These results highlight the potential of the novel 2D-based heterostructure for harvesting stray magnetic fields and powering low-power electronic devices in self-powered wireless sensor network applications. 2026 Wiley-VCH GmbH.</text>

<text>Transition metals based nitrogen-doped carbon nanocomposites have been envisioned as a potential replacement for precious metal-based nanostructures to catalyze a variety of reactions. Herein, we report the synthesis of a group of nitrogen-doped carbon nanocomposites derived from the Nicotiana genus family plant, e.g. tobacco, a highly nicotine rich entity, and iron nitrate mixture followed by their exploitation for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and non-enzymatic electrochemical glucose sensing. The controlled study suggests that the pyrolysis of tobacco results in ?7 at.% of nitrogen doping, an important heteroatom to enhance the catalytic efficiency of nanocomposites. The kinetics of the reduction of 4-NP follow a pseudo-first-order reaction. The time constant is found to increase with the Fe content in the composite owing to the formation of FeNx centers. The separation of a catalyst with the aid of a magnetic field offers a huge add-on to vouch for the recovery of these catalysts. Along with the display of appealing catalytic reduction, its application to non-enzymatic electrochemical glucose sensing is also demonstrated. Overall, the Nicotiana genus can be used as nitrogen-carbon precursors for designing of targeted N-doped carbon-based composites that could be exploited for various applications. 2021 Elsevier Ltd</text>

<text>The alarming rise in multidrug-resistant bacterial infections has necessitated the development of novel and biocompatible antimicrobial agents. In this study, NiFe2O3 nanoparticles were prepared using co-precipitation method. The NiFe2O3 nanoparticles were functionalized with carboxymethyl cellulose to enhance their stability, dispersibility, and biological activity. The characterization results revealed that the CMC-modified NiFe2O3 nanoparticles exhibited an enhanced physicochemical property when compared to bare NiFe2O3. The hydrodynamic diameter of the CMC-modified NiFe2O3 nanoparticles were found to be 202.3 nm. The crystallite size of the nanoparticles was found to be 28.2 nm for NiFe2O3 and 24.3 nm for CMC-NiFe2O3. Fourier-transform infrared spectra revealed the effective functionalization of CMC through typical O[sbnd]H, C[sbnd]H, and C[sbnd]O[sbnd]C vibrations. The HRTEM results revealed the homogenous particle morphology with negligible aggregation. BET analysis indicated a high surface area of 85.75 m2/g and a pore volume of 1.789 cm3/g, showing a mesoporous structure. The optical studies demonstrated a narrowed band gap from 3.22 eV to 3.12 eV, and lower PL intensity, implying better charge separation and higher surface defects. Antibacterial activity, assessed by agar well diffusion method, indicated drastically bigger zones of inhibition for CMC-NiFe2O3 over bare NiFe2O3, against Shigella dysenteriae and Proteus vulgaris. The antioxidant activity of CMC-NiFe2O3 was determined through DPPH assay which demonstrated dose-dependent radical scavenging activity. The zebrafish embryo toxicity testing revealed dose-dependent developmental anomalies, with high doses (3 mg/mL) triggering pericardial edema, tail malformation, and reduced pigmentation. 2025 Elsevier B.V.</text>
