<text>Supply chains around worldwide are growing increasingly vulnerable to intricate and interrelated hazards, such as localized disruptions, ie. the COVID-19 pandemic - have repercussions that affect manufacturers, suppliers, and buying habits in other geographical areas. This study offers a risk-resilient paradigm for supply chain optimization that combines cutting-edge risk mitigation and recovery techniques with conventional efficiency-driven tactics. The framework tackles both short-term operational issues and long-term sustainability objectives by fusing lean management, scenario-based stochastic demonstrating, Bayesian network analysis, and digital technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence. In order to reduce the spread of disruptions and enhance decision-making in the face of uncertainty, this work highlights the significance of supplier collaboration, decentralized planning, and predictive analytics. This paper includes a thorough strategy for managing the ripple effect, improving supply chain adaptation, and guaranteeing continuous value delivery in unstable circumstances using comparative analysis and data from recent literature. 2025 IEEE.</text>

<text>In the era of generative artificial intelligence technologies, an increasing number of organizations are adopting solutions such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Gemini, and Bard, and there has been a significant increase in computationally intensive operations that impact data center operations, as these require a high CPU- and GPU-based infrastructure and a large amount of electricity to run. In this data-driven environment, there is a need to look for and identify a holistic solution to address the concern of managing cloud operations with sustainable practices that can help not only reduce the carbon footprint but also be environment and pocket friendly. Organizations have started adopting smart intelligent technologies and sensors that track and help minimize and prescribe solutions to address the high usage of cloud resources. In this study, we have tried to check the impact of the role of such technologies in optimizing energy consumption, reducing the carbon footprint, and enabling eco-friendly, sustainable practices within cloud operations. While going through the study, you will find that the adoption of new technological solutions that leverage sensors and artificial intelligence-based smart technologies has a profound impact on long-term energy efficiency gains. The study highlights the importance of leveraging computational intelligence-based solutions to drive long-term environmental benefits, while also emphasizing the role of sustainable solutions, such as renewable energy integration and collaborative partnerships, in achieving the desired outcomes. 2026 selection and editorial matter, Jossy George, Kamal Upreti, Ramesh Chandra Poonia, Ankit Gautam, and Danish Nadeem; individual chapters, the contributors.</text>

<text>The growing prevalence of chronic diseases and the aging population necessitate innovative health management solutions. The study presented in this chapter investigated the role of smart watches in managing health among senior citizens, focusing on usability, accessibility, and social support. Using a mixed-methods approach, involving semi-structured interviews and structured surveys with 12 senior citizens aged 60-69, we explored their experiences with using smart watches over 6-12 months. Our findings highlight that while smart watches provide significant health benefits, such as monitoring vital signs and promoting physical activity, usability challenges persist due to small text and complex interfaces. Social support from family is crucial for adoption and effective use. Our participants reported improved health outcomes, increased motivation for physical activity, and better communication with healthcare providers. However, privacy and security concerns, along with the need for customisable and user-friendly designs, were emphasised. This study underscores the potential of smart watches to enhance health management for senior citizens, advocating for targeted design improvements and robust data protection measures to maximise their benefits. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Kamal Upreti, Nishant Kumar, Mohammad Shabbir Alam, Mohammad Shahnawaz Nasir and Debabrata Samanta; individual chapters, the contributors.</text>

<text>The COVID-19 pandemic exposed systemic vulnerabilities while accelerating transformative shifts in sustainability. This chapter examines its impact on the three pillars-economic, environmental, and social. Economically, it caused severe contractions and supply chain disruptions, prompting calls for localized, equitable models. Environmentally, emissions temporarily dropped but were offset by plastic waste and rebounds. Socially, the crisis deepened inequalities in health, education, and digital access, underscoring the need for equity in sustainability. Drawing from global and Indian contexts, including India's green recovery and renewable energy push, the chapter highlights evolving strategies like ESG frameworks and digital adoption. It advocates embedding sustainability in recovery through green stimulus, innovation, and global cooperation for a resilient future. 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>Some of the major challenges in managing IoT networks, which are normally resource-constrained, come from restricted bandwidth, processing power, and energy supplies. Traditional random transmission usually leads to network overload, increased packet delays, and inefficient use of resources. This paper reviews smart rate control mechanisms designed for IoT networks that have limited resources. We analyze and contrast random baseline transmission against threshold-based adaptive control methods by way of extensive simulation runs under realistic network scenarios via the Contiki-Cooja framework. Our experimental results have shown that threshold-based rate control can achieve as much as 31% reduction in average packet delay and 62% reduction in network load when compared with traditional random transmission techniques. Threshold-based rate control represents a deployable and practical solution that properly balances the tradeoff between performance enhancement and computational ease and thus is a good match for real-world IoT deployments over actual resource-constrained networks. Hybrid machine learning, multiobjective optimization, federated learning, and context-aware mechanisms might be potential avenues of future research toward enhancing the performance of IoT systems. 2025 IEEE.</text>

<text>The Internet of Things (IoT) is a newly implemented technology in the field of healthcare and can enhance patient-centrical care and efficiency in the healthcare field. IoT may be used to assist in delivering real-time health data and predictive diagnostics and custom care plans by interconnecting medical equipment, sensors, and information systems. This paper will discuss how the IoT technologies, particularly wearable sensors, cloud-based analytics and smart health architectures are changing the way healthcare is delivered. The article highlights how the data merge on the utilization of clinical and non-clinical sources to aid in remote patient monitoring, resources use optimization, and positive patient outcomes. It also identifies the concerns of the implementation of IoT such as the security risks, data privacy and the failure to connect the devices and systems. To address them, the paper discusses the new structures that integrate blockchain and artificial intelligence and ensure safe implementation of data management and heightened clinical decision-making. The results of various works of 2015-2020 have revealed that IoT applications and patent health care-related tendencies are growing, which implies that the shift towards interconnected and intelligent ecosystems is rapid. The consequences of this digital transformation are not confined to the hospital sphere only, as it is extended to homecare, telemedicine, and state population management. Lastly, IoT will allow healthcare stakeholders to shift their healthcare systems to patient-centered, rather than hospital-centered systems, in which a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and personalization would be placed on healthcare provision. 2025 IEEE.</text>

<text>This chapter aims to identify the various factors that determine the adoption of innovation, incorporating sustainability management among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the context of developing economies. Methodology: A final sample of 502 respondents was used in this study. It employed the factor analysis technique to assess the various factors that influence sustainability-oriented innovation in MSMEs. Findings: This chapter identifies six factors, namely government support, financial resource and capabilities, technological capabilities, management support, capacity building, collaborations and sustainable open innovation practices (SOIP) that determine the adoption of sustainability-oriented innovation among MSME in developing economies like India. Implications/Limitations: The findings of this chapters will be helpful for MSME practitioners to focus on the factors to drive sustainability-oriented innovation in the business organization. It will also help the other stakeholders to improve the understanding of development and implementation of innovation incorporating sustainability in the MSMEs. The limitation of the study is that the findings are only in the context of textile industry and the determinants may vary across different industries. Originality: This chapter significantly expands the extant body of knowledge in sustainability-oriented innovation in the context of MSME in the textile industry in developing economies. 2025 Rubee Singh, Kishore Kumar, Shahbaz Khan and Ankita Sharma. <text>The rapid development and use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools across a range of industries in recent years has spurred a revolution in the way that global issues like climate change and the improvement of sustainable energy solutions are addressed. These resources not only strengthen motivation but also radically alter how environmental and energy-related concerns are approached. It is essential to assess current practices in energy and climate change modeling in order to pinpoint areas for future application, given the growing worldwide reliance on efficient and sustainable energy solutions as well as the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Keeping this in mind, the authors of the chapter examine the interplay between AI, the sustainability approach, and its impact on climate change. The chapter examines the policy perspective on AI and climate action, balancing it with a sustainable development perspective. <text>In the present era, blockchain is considered as driving force reshaping the global economy. It is redefining the organizational structure and the business activities and revolutionizing the financial market. Blocking-based technologies also have immense potential to address climate change, concerns, and resource constraints. This chapter provides insights into the multifaceted role of blockchain in driving sustainable development goals by fostering transparency, improving accountability, and integrating sustainability across organizational and financial domains. It analyses the blockchain potential to strengthen financial sustainability through decentralized finance, an equitable financial system. Further, it also highlights the instrumental role of blockchain by improving the supply chain, transparency, corporate governance, and incorporation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into the business model. Moreover, this chapter discusses the alignment of blockchain with the United Nations sustainable development goals, highlighting its potential to address, pressing issues such as resource efficiency, climate, change, and inequality. It critically assesses the various challenges in the adoption of blockchain and underscores its importance in achieving long-term sustainability goals. <text>In the landscape of higher professional education, the dynamics between "organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB)" play a pivotal role in shaping the culture and performance of educational institutions. In the perspective of higher professional education institutions, understanding the relationship between these constructs is of paramount importance, as it can significantly influence the overall effectiveness and performance of academic institutions. The primary purposes of the study are twofold: first, to examine the "relationship between organizational commitment and OCB" among faculty and staff in higher professional education institutions; and second, to explore the impact of OCB on institutional outcomes. Quantitative analyses, such as correlation, are employed to decipher the intricate links between these constructs. The findings of this study reveal "a strong positive correlation between organizational commitment" and OCB among faculty and staff in higher professional education. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.</text>

<text>Neural Networks can be used to predict students' performance and future placement opportunities. Nowadays, it is a really difficult task for students to predict their chances of getting a good campus placement, even if they have prepared well for it. There is an intense competition among peers, and many factors that influence a student's placement. To manage this data and predict their chances, they need a reliable system. In this paper, we discuss a model in which the system focuses on three main areas: predicting placement chances, analyzing skill gaps, and offering personalized recommendations for improvement. The system would predict many potential career paths by analyzing academic records, extracurricular activities, and job market trends, while also highlighting immediate opportunities and long-term growth prospects. The integration of agentic AI further enhances this system by enabling autonomous decision-making and adaptive learning. Which ensures personalized guidance for each student. By dynamically refining the predictions which are based on real-time feedback, agentic AI helps to empower students to proactively navigate their career paths with greater confidence and precision. This approach provides a genuine solution, in order to improve placement strategies, by ensuring that the students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the modern workforce. 2025 IEEE.</text>

<text>This research work examines the convergence of health expenditure in Central Europe and the Baltic region. The study reveals the absolute convergence in per capita health expenditures, indicating similar health outcomes for all eleven countries of the region. However, there is a divergence in health expenditure and outcomes across the eleven countries. Notably, public health expenditure diverges in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, and Norway, while, private health expenditure converges in Poland, Russia, and Sweden. Despite an overall convergence in life expectancy at birth across the countries, mortality rates due to non-communicable diseases only converge in Estonia. 2024 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.</text>

<text>Health system resources have increased comparatively higher in Central Europe and the Baltic region relative to the Euro Area and the OECD countries. This study investigates the tendency for health system resources and health outcomes to converge for the countries of Central Europe and the Baltic region from 2000 to 2019. The existence of convergence is tested using the ? coefficient within and across the 11 countries studied. The panel result favors the existence of convergence in the three variables employed as health system resourcesphysician density, nurses density, and per capita current health expenditure. Similarly, the findings support the presence of convergence in all four variables used as health outcomeslife expectancy at birth (total), crude death per 1000 population, NCDs mortality, and infant mortality. Furthermore, at the country level, the results are heterogeneous. Evidence highlights that only three variables employed as health system resources converged in Iceland, Latvia, Norway, and Sweden. The results favor the convergence in all four variables employed as health outcomes in Poland and Russia. However, the exact opposite holds for the convergence of health outcomes in Denmark. Therefore, this calls for the need to implement sound reforms in the health systems that could translate increased health system resources into improved health outcomes. 2025 The Author(s). <text>Sustainable living is crucial in reducing societys reliance on natural resources, a goal intimately connected to the principles of the circular economy. This conceptual framework highlights the interplay between education, technology, and the standard of living as fundamental aspects driving sustainable practices. Education empowers individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to raise awareness and encourage sustainable behavior, shaping beliefs and intentions towards resource efficiency. However, recent studies suggests, increased access to information can paradoxically lead to greater complexities and dilemmas, creating challenges in enacting sustainable consumption and inadvertently slowing sustainable development efforts. Furthermore, the role of technology in the circular economy is indispensable. Advanced technological solutions facilitate the efficient use of resources, offering innovative approaches to mitigate environmental impact while enhancing the quality of life. Earlier literatures underscores the importance of education, funding, and innovation in green technology to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, highlighting the current state and research hotspots in this domain. A comprehensive literature review utilizing the Web of Science database reveals global contributions to SDG research, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that integrates education, technology, and a sustainable standard of living. Together, these elements contribute to the development of a society that fosters a culture of sustainability. By promoting a circular economy, where resources are reused, recycled, and repurposed, we can ensure that the needs of the present are met without compromising the ability of future generations to thrive. This approach not only preserves environmental health but also cultivates resilient communities capable of navigating the complexities of sustainability in a rapidly changing world. 2025 The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.</text>

<text>Previous studies have explored the economic and environmental factors that affect the growth of renewable energy, suggesting that crude oil prices, coal prices, and foreign investment are crucial for promoting green energy within the circular economy. This model promotes sustainability, resource efficiency, waste reduction, and the continuous use of energy, which fits hand in hand with the goals of renewable energy development. The relationship between carbon emissions and investments in renewable energy has been both positive and negative results according to studies based on their research in i.e. a positive relationship due to government conduct of low carbon footprints and circular economies in their research. Moreover, the effects of per capita income on the growth in the field of green energy is often oriented towards higher economic resources to promote sustainable development on this path strengthening the principles/circular economy. Broader application of these insights, this study investigates certain determinants of growth in the Green Energy Index of India and analyzes various economic and environmental factors over the past five years. By means of stationarity test, correlation analysis and multiple regression techniques, the relationship between these variables is studied. It helps them focus on specific obstacles and drive forward the transition to renewable energy, an essential element of the circular economy, which the study finds is positively impacted by per capita income and crude oil prices, clear evidence of the interplay between economic resources and investments in renewables. Nonetheless, the index demonstrates a negative co-relationship with coal prices, indicating the negative effect of being reliant on coal on the advance of green energy. The Green Energy Index was also found to have no meaningful relationship with foreign capital and carbon emission. The paper concludes by emphasizing that Green energy index of India may significantly improve through increased investments in energy generation through renewable resources in circular economy context. It recommends that further study should consider a longer time series analysis and more companies in this field to provide a clearer picture of the relationship between these variables and green energy expansion. 2025 The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.</text>

<text>In the last twenty years, efforts have been made to address how financial literacy and inclusion can empower rural women entrepreneurs. However, one essential factor tends to be left behindthe contribution of incubation centers to enabling these women to succeed. This research examines the academic landscape in closer detail through a bibliometric analysis of 2,012 peer-reviewed articles between 2005 and mid-2025 based on the Scopus database. Using tools such as Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, we delve into how the discourse on financial capability, women entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment has progressed throughout time. The research indicates a meteoric increase in interest following 2020, fueled primarily by vulnerabilities uncovered with the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite expansion, however, something is certain: there remains relatively little research linking incubation assistance to rural women directly or financial literacy programs. Our analyses of keywords and co-authorships indicate a splintered discipline with ample space for richer, more holistic research. This article not only charts what is known but also reveals what is lacking, presenting new directions for researchers and policymakers dedicated to building stronger safety nets for rural women entrepreneurs. <text>The integration of digital finance into marine and seaside economies offers transformative potential to foster sustainability, equity, and economic growth. This chapter explores the role of financial technology (FinTech) in addressing the unique challenges faced by coastal and marine industries, including resource depletion, economic instability, and socio-environmental disparities. It highlights how innovations like blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and mobile financial platforms can enhance financial inclusion for coastal communities, streamline investment in sustainable marine projects, and promote transparent governance. Through case studies and data-driven analysis, the chapter investigates global best practices where digital finance has enabled resource optimisation, resilience in the face of climate change, and support for blue economy initiatives. By examining the interplay of technology, finance, and sustainability, this chapter aims to provide actionable insights into leveraging digital finance for building resilient and equitable marine ecosystems, contributing to a sustainable blue economy. <text>The immediate upheaval for transitioning and slipping from mundane linear system to deliberately choosing sustainable and equitable circular economy system has been in airs, suggesting its shared benefits and changed outlook. The current research paper proposes a framework RE-GENO which supports the design of responsible circular economy practices and argues that this framework can act as a preliminary tool for improving and expanding the decision-making context for a more equitable transition through use of artificial intelligence. The research papers have discussed the idea of transitioning from linear economy that results in generation of large amount of waste to a circular economy which leads to sustainable form of consumption and have further highlighted the challenges followed by it and application of artificial intelligence in its transition. They have given different frameworks which could form base of transitioning into it but at the same time, there has not been enough insight on implementation of it in Indian based economy. This research paper brings up a modified version for a framework whose main aim is to provide a new base for moving to circular economy and focusing on strategies on its efficient implementation in developing nation like India. It is found that application of this framework in India requires multifaceted approach that integrates all aspects such as technology, education, government initiatives and monitoring through risk analysis to foster sustainable growth, production, and consumption. Hence, the paper suggests that successful implementation might open the way for more sustainable and efficient resource management strategies across a variety of businesses. 2025 The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.</text>
