<text>In this fast-moving world, mental health disorder has turned to be one of the important issues which need utmost care and concern. According to the National Mental Health Survey Report, at least 14% of the India's population needs attention for mental disorders, of which stress, depression, and anxiety are the most common. An automated system that helps in detecting these mental disorders and thereby helps us to lead a better life by moulding our lifestyle is desirable. This chapter proposes an Intelligent Therapist based on machine learning which diagnoses a person's mental state through a set of questionnaires that helps in determining his/her mental state. The chatbot analyses the response and classifies them into different categories as per the severity of the disorder. The model is trained and tested on varying datasets to provide better accuracy in the understanding of human behaviour. This web-based chatbot will be accessible to anyone having access to the internet and will act as a preliminary self-check-up point. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Neha Goel and Ravindra Kumar Yadav; individual chapters, the contributors.</text>

In this approach no toll plaza and no card at all. As soon as the vehicle comes on the toll road, information is captured through GPS (Referring Google Map). At the starting point, the driver gets a welcome message as Welcome, your toll starts now•. Once the vehicle leaves the toll road and takes the service road, the driver gets another message like, Thank you for traveling these many kilometers, and the toll collected is Rs.</text>

<text>Internet of Things (IoT) technologies assists by which machines, circuits, and many types of devices and interfaces communicate with one another. This IoT technology is useful for several purposes, especially in the field of Networking and Run-time data storage. Considering Women safety as our primary objective, we have used this technology and some other hardwares, including Raspberry Pi, to help the user in case of any emergency. Here also, with the help of IoT we are trying to make a device which can track the runtime location and the live, exact and efficient coordinates of the system which is in track. In the above context, in case of emergencies, it is very important to know the right place for the person to perform several important and critical actions whatsoever present at the right time. The GPS coordinates can be used to solve and analyse this problem. Additionally, we intend to add a voice recorder in case the women want to record any suspicious activity or information that can be helpful in the future for evidence purposes. In this paper, IoT is acting directly by receiving a person's GPS links from his server. Furthermore, we are combining the web interface with Google Maps on a single server so that the user's location can be tracked immediately using real-time coordinates. Our application can be used for wildlife, school-aged children, parent safety, and transportation services where location is a key factor. Although there are several direct and indirect usages of this project, the main use to which the project is concentrated is the use of this device to help our loved ones in the time of need. 2021 IEEE.</text>

<text>In the past few years, Big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) inclusion have changed the dynamics in various industries, including road transport. This research explores machine learning and artificial intelligence in road transportation, accentuating the advanced image processing methods. We apply these technologies to enhance how traffic is managed, how safe vehicles are operated, and how the most efficient routes are planned. This study also expands to various techniques and methods for analysis, such as image processing, object recognition, and recognition systems, and is effective in implementation. Through extensive experiments and several case studies, we have shown substantial improvements in accuracy and efficiency achieved when image processing in road transport, including machine learning and artificial intelligence. This study points out the tremendous prospects posed by these technologies in shaping the future of transport and suggests further developments and applications. <text>Modern public safety operations are also changing due to the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) enabling maneuverability, open area, and continuous surveillance. The apparently exact plan and assessment of a clever UAV watchdog platform with on-board article locating, autonomous navigation using geofences, and edge processing will be introduced in this paper. The proposed system will be composed of a Pixhawk flight controller, a u-blox M10 GNSS module to provide navigation capabilities, and NVIDIA Jetson to run high-definition aerial video processing, specifically to recognize and use a YOLO-based detection pipeline. A simulated environment of a public event was used to test the accuracy of detection, inference latency, detection of anomalies and geofencing compliance across different environmental and crowd circumstances. The results of experiments also show average detection accuracy rates of 93.42%, inference delays of less than 60 ms, and few boundary violations, confirming the use of the system in responsive and secure use of aerial monitoring. The open-source modular nature of the platform permits the addition of other sensors and its subsequent expansion ability into multi-drone collaborative applications to note the prospects of such low-cost systems to influence large scale event tracking, disaster relief and urban security applications. 2025 IEEE.</text>

<text>Recognition of vehicles under the different weather condition is very challenging. This work aims to recognize vehicles on Indian road in accordance with their visibility. It is important to recognize the surround roadside objects, particularly front and rare vehicles to avoid the accidents. Especially in raining conditions vehicle recognition is rate traffic surveillance cameras get decreases due to water droplets. Hence, we proposed a method for recognition of vehicles on road in rainy condition using image processing in computer vision techniques to improve the recognition rate. In the proposed method, an instance segmentation technique is used to segment the vehicles in Indian road scene and the visual noise and texture features are analysed and computed in the segmented images to recognize the vehicles more accurately in rainy conditions. By integrating the visual noise features with the texture feature and instance segmentation, the accuracy of vehicle recognition is improved. The experimental findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could more accurately predict the visibility of vehicles in rainy weather conditions. <text>Smart cities and villages refer to making cities and villages more beautiful and fuller of all the requirements that can make the lives of the people living in the cities and villages more comfortable and satisfactory. On 25th June 2015, this initiative was launched by the Central government, and the time limit for completion was 5 years, but due to the pandemic situation, it was further extended by the central government, and this year, all the states are required to submit their respective report about the progress in this regard. In India, 70% of the total population lives in Villages and only 30% are part of urban areas. In India, villages should be a combination of smart and digital villages. If the work is done at the grassroots level, it will 436solve many problems, such as migration, employment, poverty, education, and medical facilities. Sustainability of the environment is one of the basic requirements for humankind globally. In 2015, the United Nations introduced Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address environmental and economic issues and challenges and to provide and promote better and more sustainable pathways for the future generation globally. It is not a matter of concern for a group of countries, but every single species is affected by environmental issues. Owing to the dense population, infrastructure, buildings, and commercialization, cities are more prone and susceptible to the effects of climate change and natural disasters. while increasing the sustainability of urbanization processes is necessary to protect the environment, reduce the risk of disasters, and address climate change, building urban resilience is essential to preventing losses in terms of people, society, and the economy. Goal 11 of the SDGs deals with Sustainable Cities and Communities. Focusing more on urbanization in such a way that comprehensively controls and plans the development of cities and villages using different technologies and sciences to make them smart cities and villages. By ensuring that smart cities and villages will help us in many ways, they can control the migration of the human population from one city to another in search of employment and basic needs. In India, the government should focus on creating smart villages rather than smart cities. Around 69% of the population lives in the villages, and they do not have the basic amenities like electricity, clean drinking water, roads, transportation, and a source of employment. 2026 Jenny Stanford Publishing Pte. <text>Traditional wound healing processes suffer from a lack of real-time monitoring, often relying on subjective assessments, leading to missed opportunities for timely treatment adjustments. This idea proposal is particularly concerning for patients with chronic wounds, as traditional dressings fail to provide essential information on wound conditions. To address this gap, wearable electronics are emerging as a promising solution. This context proposes the development of a flexible plaster embedded with electronics capable of sensing various wound-related factors such as pH, temperature, glucose, uric acid, moisture, oxygen, and protein levels in both the wound and its surrounding environment. By continuously monitoring these factors and providing alerts, this innovative solution aims to facilitate faster wound healing. Moreover, it enables automatic drug delivery, enhancing treatment efficacy and patient outcomes. This approach represents a significant advancement in wound care, offering real-time insights and interventions that can revolutionize how wounds are managed, ultimately improving patient care and reducing healthcare costs.</text>

<text>The study examines the performance and exposure of BSE strategy indices and also compares them between the pre and post-covid periods. Though the monthly returns of some of the indices were significant, no indices outperformed the Sensex across the sample periods. On the risk-adjusted terms, quality, momentum, and low-volatility indices offered a significant alpha in the pre-covid, but post covid, all indices failed. The indices, except momentum, performed better in post covid compared to pre-covid but are insignificant due to the post covid high volatility. Momentum and value indices offered a predominant performance in the pre and post covid periods respectively, while the dividend index failed in both periods. While the market factor is the prominent driver of return for the indices, the size effect on their performance is insignificant across the sample periods. The indices, irrespective of their pre-covid exposure, gained significant exposure to loser stocks post covid. Though the exposure varied between pre and post covid, the change in the exposure was not significant except for the quality and dividend indices. They offer limited intended factor exposure and some extent of unintended exposure, as in the case of the momentum index in the pre-covid period. Indian Institute of Finance..</text>

<text>Due to the growing prevalence of chronic diseases stemming from unhealthy lifestyles, a personalized approach to patient care is crucial. This paper delves into a system that utilizes cosine similarity and Pearson correlation to generate tailored diet and exercise plans, effectively managing chronic diseases. The system focuses on common chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid disorders. Through sophisticated similarity modeling for diet and exercise, the proposed system provides integrated and personalized lifestyle recommendations, outperforming non-personalized or basic rule-based systems. 2024 IEEE.</text>

<text>This study aimed to recognize the patterns of smartphone addiction among post-graduate management students in the North-East Region of India. The validated Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale (SAPS) was administered to the respondents, and two different methods, namely SAPS method and median-based scoring method, were used to measure smartphone addiction. The measurement results of smartphone addiction show evidence that the student respondents are not vulnerable to smartphone addiction. Principal component analysis with promax rotation (KaiserMeyerOlkin measure = 0.84; Bartletts test of sphericity = 0.000) demonstrated four crucial components that signify smartphone addiction which are habitual issues (issues relating to regularly or repeatedly doing or practicing something), withdrawal anxiety, tolerance, and usage outcomes. Gender was not seen to play a significant role in these components. The duration of use of a smartphone was seen to have a significant relationship with the component of habitual issues but not with the other components. 2023 The Author(s). <text>This chapter examines the psychological, behavioural, and social consequences of smartphone addiction, phone snubbing, and social media addiction. It explores the machinations that drive addiction, such as variable reinforcement schedules and reward systems, and how they affect our interpersonal relationships and mental health. The chapter also identifies best practices in current research and case studies, as well as trends that suggest effective interventions to help guide psychologists and mental health professionals when dealing with such issues. The chapter underscores the importance of interdisciplinary efforts in order to address the issues of digital addiction successfully. This chapter shares the perspectives from the multi-dimensional addiction behavior scale (MABS), which includes psychological, biological, social and environmental factors, cognitive and behavioral patterns, motivation, and readiness for change. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>This work developed a simple, easy-to-prepare, and inexpensive indicator (R-Paper) based on rub-coating of red cabbage on readily available paper substrates to detect the freshness of fish in out-of-lab settings. A single-step rub-coating method was used to incorporate anthocyanins on paper substrates, without the extraction of the compound from red cabbage. The preparation of the indicator and its usage is quick and does not require additional chemicals, personnel expertise, or laboratory facilities. The functional colorimetric interface created by directly rubbing red cabbage on paper was used for fish quality monitoring, which displayed a naked-eye detectable color change from purple (for fresh fish) to blue (for spoiling fish) and then to blue-green (for spoiled fish), corresponding to total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) and pH changes. To provide a user-friendly quantitative analysis of this color change, we used the free Android software Color Grab to quantify the color using L*, a*, b*, and RGB indices. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first report on an indicator prepared by rub-coating red cabbage onto paper-based substrates for fish spoilage monitoring through smartphone-based analysis. To verify that the R-Paper indicator performs on a par with the indicators using extracted anthocyanins, its performance was compared with indicators prepared using anthocyanins extracted from red cabbage (AR-Paper). Naked-eye analysis, simple preparation, ease of use, low cost, and free smartphone-based analysis make the R-Paper indicator an appropriate food quality indicator in resource-limited areas. 2023 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>In recent days, accurate localization becomes essential for enabling smartphone-based navigation to attain maximum accuracy in the construction of the real world.Fingerprint-based localization is the widespread solution to achieve and assure effective performance. In this study, a new fingerprint-based localization model using a bat algorithm (BA) is presented stimulated by the echolocation nature of microbats. The presented model adapts BA for estimating the location information. Initially, the presented model applies a Bayesian-rule based objective function. Then, the BA is used for improving the accuracy and analyzing the effects of the initial position of the bats on the localization outcome. For mitigating the estimation error, the Kalman filter is employed for updating the initially determined position using the BA for tracking purposes. The experimental analysis indicated an improvement in real-time performance and decrease in computation complexity. The presented model also obtained maximum localization accuracy with minimum localization error over the compared methods. 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC part of Springer Nature.</text>

<text>Smartphone has penetrated across all regions of India and all sections of the society, especially among the higher education student community. Smartphones with the internet, in turn, provide access to social media platforms. Smartphones and social media (SM) together provide several benefits to the users, and they also cause unwanted repercussions on the users such as adverse mental health, addiction, and laziness. But one of the important gains of smartphone and social media usage (SMU) is digital learning through them. Smartphones and SM are inevitable in the academic process of higher education students. The students use extensively the smartphone and SM for sharing information and content, for having peer discussion, for managing assignments, and for communicating with the instructors. So, this study tries to study the mediating effect of digital learning through smartphones and SM on the educational accomplishment of private university students in Bangalore, India. This study adopted the survey method of research which collected primary data through structured questionnaires from the private university students. The collected data were analyzed using students t test, One-way ANOVA, Chi-Square, and Structural Equation Modeling. The study results found that smartphones and SM affect the academic performance (AP) of the sample students significantly through digital learning. 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.</text>

<text>Herein, using a green, cost-effective, and sustainable biomass precursor, luminescent carbon nanoparticles (CNP) are synthesized for selective bilirubin quantification. From high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) image, the prepared CNP exhibited spherical morphology and the crystallite size ranges from 8 to 16 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis confirmed the presence of both sp2 and sp3 hybridized carbon bonds within the carbon nanoparticles (CNP). Furthermore, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) analysis was performed to determine the hydrodynamic diameter of the CNP and the average particle size was found to be approximately 12.94 0.19 nm. Under ultraviolet (UV) radiation of 350 nm wavelength, the CNP displayed excitation dependent emission characteristics, having an average lifetime of 4.4 ns. The fluorescence intensity of carbon nanoparticles reduced considerably in the presence of Fe3+ ions and fluorescence turn ON was achieved upon the addition of different concentrations of bilirubin. The probe displayed remarkable selectivity towards bilirubin over other potential interferences. Using a sensing platform based on a mobile phone application, the fluorescent probe exhibited a limit of detection (LOD) of 32 nM. Moreover, the fluorescent probe was efficiently employed for the detection of bilirubin in human serum and urine specimens. This cost-effective carbon-based turn-off-on fluorescent sensor makes it easy to detect bilirubin, through visual inspection under ultraviolet light, thereby enabling prompt diagnosis. 2025 Elsevier B.V.</text>

<text>Interpersonal relations in a world of digital ubiquity have brought religious institutions into personal digital networks. The development of personal-religious networks has affected individual faith practices and altered religious responses. This article explores patterns of behaviour emerging from a collective sense of belonging and affective responses in online church networks where smartphones acts as an extension of self. It analyses the relationship between faith and visual practices/aesthetics impacting today's religious experience. It also explains affective loops that are consciously constructed by church authorities to shape collective action. The function of these loops is to create a deeper sense of connectedness between practitioners and the church through harnessing technology and its affective power. 2019 Journal of Content, Community & Communication.</text>

<text>Smell technology, a rapidly expanding sector of the scent business, aims to digitally replicate and transmit aromas. Its applications include virtual reality, e-commerce, and healthcare. Recent advances in the field include the creation of smell algorithms and the use of artificial intelligence to create more realistic fragrances. Fragrance algorithms are mathematical models that predict the scent of a fragrance based on its chemical composition. They might be used to the perfume industry to streamline the production of perfumes and do away with the need for expensive trial-and-error methods. Artificial intelligence is also being used to create digital representations of fragrances that closely resemble the real thing by analysing the chemical composition of actual odours. A possible benefit of this technology in the healthcare sector is that synthetic odours may mimic the scents of diseases and aid physicians in making more precise diagnoses. Additionally, some companies are developing small devices that can be connected to computers or mobile devices to emit odours on demand, providing users of virtual reality, gaming, and online shopping with a more realistic experience. In spite of these advancements, it is still exceedingly challenging to recreate the complexity of natural scents, which can include hundreds of different components.
