<text>Learning outcomes Upon completion of this case, students will be able to understand the implications of psychological contract theory in organizational contexts. It will allow them to analyse how leadership communication affects internal trust and public perception and critically evaluate the reputational consequences of symbolic leadership behaviour. Case overview/synopsis S.N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Indias leading engineering conglomerate, made a public statement encouraging employees to work 90?h a week and use Sundays to achieve global excellence. Although intended as a motivational message, the statement triggered nationwide backlash. Employees, industry leaders and the public interpreted the comment as reflecting an outdated, unsustainable work culture, sparking debates around worklife balance and generational shifts in employee values. Internally, the comment created anxiety and ambiguity regarding the companys expectations, especially among younger professionals. The case will allow students to examine how leadership communication can reshape psychological contracts, explore generational tensions in the workplace and evaluate how organizations should respond to reputational challenges while preserving performance culture. The case dilemma centres on whether L&T should clarify, retract or reinforce the chairmans statement. Complexity academic level This case is appropriate for upper undergraduate- and graduate-level programs in organizational behaviour, strategic human resource management, business ethics and leadership studies. Potential programs include, BBA, MBA HR and industrial and organizational psychology. Supplementary Material Teaching notes are available for educators only. <text>As per the Hindu tradition, women are considered as ardhangini and the western civilisation considers them as better half. Since ancient times, women have been considered as the epitome of love, kindness, care and above all the mother of mankind. But on the contrary, the most terrible and horrifying cruelties are imposed upon her. The predominant type of violence which is inflicted upon a woman is domestic violence also known as intimate partner violence. According to the World Health Organisation, almost one third, i.e., 27% of the women aged between 15 and 49 years, who have been in a relationship report that they have been subjected to some form of physical or sexual violence by their intimate partner. The issue of domestic violence has been addressed at both international and national levels, but still there exists a persistent gap in enforcing and implementing them. And this can be easily proved from the continuous rise in the cases of domestic violence worldwide, especially during the COVID times. The problem that needs to be addressed at hand is the role of several accountable stakeholders involved in the process of providing access to justice to the women affected by domestic violence. According to the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (2005), in India, the several stakeholders include the protection officers, service providers, lawyers, police officers, shelter homes and judges. These are the people with whom the power to protect and help the women are vested, but instead the affected women fall a prey to this system due to various reasons like lack of resources, fewer power and many more which will be further discussed in the article. 2024 selection and editorial matter Dr. Shilpi Sharma and Baidya nath Mukherjee; individual chapters, the contributors.</text>

<text>The growing levels of lead (Pb) in agricultural soil and water bodies as a result of industrialization and human activity present serious challenges for medicinal plants. The present study investigates the complex responses of Salvia officinalis to toxicity caused by Pb including metal accumulation, translocation dynamics, antioxidant defenses, and the production of secondary metabolites. Pb showed preferential accumulation in the roots, peaking at (1000 ppm Pb) (2484.2 mg kg-1). The reduced levels of total chlorophyll (1.29-fold), protein (1.9-fold), and carbohydrate (2.5-fold) under prolonged exposure to stress demonstrate the toxic impacts of lead. Proline and total phenolic content (TPC) increased concentration-dependently under lead stress, while flavonoids were found to be decreased with the enhancement of lead toxicity. Enzymatic antioxidants (catalase, APX, and SOD) showed notable increase, especially in the 30 days of treatment, demonstrating the plants strong defenses. S. officinaliss adaptive responses were highlighted by concentration-dependent increases in non-enzymatic antioxidants such as total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and DPPH radical scavenging activity. Crucially, under lead stress, S. officinalis showed 1.7-fold increased rosmarinic acid (RA) production, in plants exposed to 200 ppm for 30 days treatment. However, further exposure to lead significantly caused the reduction of RA production. The results add to our knowledge of how sage plants respond to environmental stress and offer important insights for future uses in phytoremediation and the breeding of stress-tolerant plant cultivars. Furthermore, the research highlights about the S. officinaliss potential as a source of bioactive compounds possessing antioxidant qualities, under low levels of lead stress. 2024, Indian journals. <text>Yellow Leaf Disease (YLD), or chlorosis, reduces crop health and productivity, affecting plants like citrus, wheat, and bananas. This study reviews the causes of YLD, including bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, along with poor nutrition and environmental stress. It highlights the importance of early detection through novel methods like molecular diagnostics and remote sensing. The review also stresses the need to understand the interaction between disease, nutrition, and environment for effective management. Breeding YLD-resistant crops is proposed as a potential solution. This work serves as a foundation for future research to mitigate YLD's impact on agriculture. Grenze Scientific Society, 2025.</text>

<text>This chapter investigates the ways that algorithmic technologies reconfigure workplace authority by changing how we think about surveillance, evaluation, and control in data- driven management practices. Drawing from and reconceptualising Foucaults Panopticon and Zuboffs Surveillance Capitalism, it contends that the algorithmic gaze creates an invisible governance system, where trust and autonomy are replaced by quantification. Through case studies in service, fintech, and logistics sectors, the analysis highlights how discourses of efficiency and performance sustainability legitimise digital despotism, bias, and workers self- monitoring. The chapter concludes with a framework for digital humanism, which articulates ethical, transparent, and participatory governance and management, which can restore human dignity and agency in algorithmically mediated labour. 2026 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. <text>In recent times, Au nanoparticles have beencommonly used for delivering the drug especially in the case of hypothermia of tumors, but low absorption of IR light does not solve destruction of tumor cells. However, nanoparticles such as Fe3O4 coated with Au could be used to deliver the drug to a specific spot due to applied external magnetic field. Due to these applications, boundary layer approximation is invoked to simplify the mathematical model. This paper presents the nanoparticle shape analysis and heat transfer features of the AuFe3O4blood hybrid nanofluid flowing past a stretching surface on a magnetohydrodynamic medium. Numerical solutions of nonlinear differential equations are obtained by RKF-45 method with the help of shooting technique. The behavior of emerging parameters is described graphically for velocity and temperature profiles. It is found that the blade-shaped Au and Fe3O4 nanoparticles have better thermal conductance than brick, sphere, cylinder, needle, and platelet shapes. It is also observed that the Lorentz force generated due to magnetic field helps in controlling the flow and enhance the thermal conductivity of hybrid nanofluid. 2021 Wiley Periodicals LLC.</text>

<text>This paper focuses on the dual quality of blood, Newtonian and non-Newtonian, in particular by exploring the energy curves. Careful investigation of the dual property of blood has been made by considering two different geometries to represent a stenosed arterial segment. We present a cautious assessment of non-Newtonian blood rheology impacts in arterial stream simulations by coupling the Newtonian and non-Newtonian models. The flow of energy through the two flow dimensions is meticulously investigated using velocity (kinetic energy), pressure, and wall shear stress (pressure energy). Besides, the proper implementation of an interface boundary condition (IBC) was emphasized to ensure consistency with the flow conditions downstream of a backward-facing step. The integration of the Newtonian and non-Newtonian models adjoins the novelty of the current research. The energy curves are obtained by implementing five different non-Newtonian models to designate a suitable non-Newtonian model for blood flow investigations. The combination of the non-Newtonian models enforced in this research is novel and particular attention is paid to the energy curves obtained. The conclusion was to elect the Carreau model as a suitable non-Newtonian rheological model for the blood flow study. This study was able to finalize the fact that the coupling of Newtonian and non-Newtonian models is necessary to obtain accurate results. For the sinusoidal waveform considered for the velocity, Carreau and the Power law models yield better results, eliminating the other non-Newtonian models from the list. With a better inlet condition imposed in the form of the Fourier series for pressure and velocity, the Carreau model yields the best results. 2024 World Scientific Publishing Company.</text>

<text>Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore and summarize existing literature on the application of expressive art therapies like dance movement therapy (DMT), art therapy and music therapy among survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA). Method: A narrative review was conducted following a structured search strategy. The search strategy involved identifying relevant studies from electronic databases, such as PubMed, APA PsycInfo, and Google Scholar, focusing on peer-reviewed articles and dissertations published between 2003 and 2024. The literature, studies, and empirical data pertaining to the application of expressive art therapies in meeting the requirements of CSA survivors are reviewed as part of the research process. Results: Research suggests that for survivors of CSA, DMT, music therapy, and art therapy offer a safe space for recovery that encourages hope, self-determination, and healthy relationships. These treatments encourage cognitive processing, emotional expression, and physical connectedness. However, there are shortcomings in the research including the lack of rigorous research methods and inclusion of long-term studies. Conclusions: Adult survivors of CSA have a lot of promise for therapeutic interventions from expressive art therapies, which include DMT, art therapy, and music therapy. They provide survivors with invaluable support as they work toward empowerment and healing. 2025 American Psychological Association</text>

<text>The Astropy Project supports and fosters the development of open-source and openly developed Python packages that provide commonly needed functionality to the astronomical community. A key element of the Astropy Project is the core package astropy, which serves as the foundation for more specialized projects and packages. In this article, we summarize key features in the core package as of the recent major release, version 5.0, and provide major updates on the Project. We then discuss supporting a broader ecosystem of interoperable packages, including connections with several astronomical observatories and missions. We also revisit the future outlook of the Astropy Project and the current status of Learn Astropy. We conclude by raising and discussing the current and future challenges facing the Project. 2022. <text>We investigate the asymmetric nonlinear link between foreign direct investment, oil prices, and CO2 emissions for the Gulf Cooperation Council nations, using foreign direct investment and oil price data. As foreign direct investment is positively associated with carbon emissions in the long run and oil prices have positive, significant effects on CO2 emissions, our findings support the pollution-haven hypothesis. Furthermore, these variables have an asymmetric nonlinear relationship, which corresponds to the theoretical expectations of the pollution-haven hypothesis. We also find that negative changes in foreign direct investment have positive, significant impacts on carbon emissions in the short run, implying that foreign enterprises utilize green technologies in their manufacturing processes in the short run. In the long run, however, negative changes in oil prices are positively associated with carbon emissions. These findings should help Gulf Cooperation Council economies focus on policies that encourage foreign direct investment in green rather than dirty industries in order to ensure environmental sustainability. 2022 The Author(s). <text>This paper analyzed the impact of macro and non-macroeconomic factors on the trading volume of the certificate of deposits and commercial paper with regard to India during the monthly period from April 2012-March 2018 using the quantile regression approach. The results revealed that gross domestic product rate, Consumer Price Index, Economic Policy Uncertainty Index, the Volatility Index, and the Nifty index had a negligible impact on the trading volume of corporate bonds. However, interest rates and exchange rates did not influence the trading volume of corporate bonds. In the other context, gross domestic product rate, Consumer Price Index, interest rates, the Volatility Index, and movements in the Nifty index showed a negligible impact on the trading volume of commercial paper. However, the variations in the trading volume of commercial papers were not explained by exchange rates and Economic Policy Uncertainty Index. 2020, Associated Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd.. <text>The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is increasingly turning out to become a global endeavor and has recently been extended to Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. The diversity in the makeup of the nation-states in the region poses several challenges concerning the regions association with the BRI. For instance, Venezuela has borrowed heavily from China while being mired in economic troubles. The Venezuelan example serves as a caution to others as well as China on the intricacies of debt management and lending. This paper aims to study the challenges and risks arising from the Belt and Road Initiative extending to Latin America and the Caribbean region. This paper also tries to analyze as to whether a win-win outcome can be achieved for both China and the LAC nation-states and as to what China seeks from the region. An attempt has been made to evaluate the role that the global environment might play in this evolving relationship between China and the LAC nation-states. The paper also analyzes the post pandemic BRI investment in the LAC region 2022, Austral: Brazilian Journal of Strategy and International Relations. All Rights Reserved.</text>
