Aim: In India, where joint and nuclear family systems coexist, understanding how these structures influence psychological variables such as conformity, loneliness, perceived self-efficacy, psychological distancing, and the need for affiliation is critical. Method: This study employed a mixed-methods approach to examine these variables among 470 emerging adults (298 females, 172 males) aged 18 to 25?years, recruited from urban and semi-urban areas in India. Quantitative data were collected using standardized tools, while qualitative insights were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 20 participants. Results: Quantitative results revealed that emerging adults from joint families reported significantly higher levels of self-efficacy compared to those from nuclear families (U?=?18,945, p?=?.03), while no significant differences were found in loneliness (U?=?25,140, p?=?.73) or conformity (U?=?20,735, p?=?.57). A weak negative correlation was found between loneliness and self-efficacy (rs?=??.20, p?<?.05), indicating that higher loneliness is associated with lower self-efficacy. Qualitative findings highlighted the role of family as a source of emotional security, with technology bridging emotional gaps across family types. Participants exhibited a present-focused planning mindset, emphasizing adaptability over rigid long-term goals. Both joint and nuclear family participants relied on familial and peer networks to fulfill affiliative needs, though the nature of these networks varied by family structure. Conclusion: The study concludes that while joint families were associated with higher self-efficacy, both family types provided emotional security and fulfilled affiliative needs in distinct ways. These findings underscore the importance of considering both structural and relational aspects of family dynamics in understanding young adults psychological well-being. Future research should explore these dynamics across different cultural contexts and age groups to identify universal and culture-specific patterns. The data was gathered from 1,140 women in slums through a structured schedule on a five-point Likert scale. The schedule was pretested and validated using reliability and validity tests. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were performed to validate the questions. The impact was tested using linear regression, and results of regression model indicated women's financial inclusion significantly contributes to their economic empowerment. Gender refers to the social categories of men and women. The two are interwoven with each other and influence each other. Gender roles dictate how men and women should experience and express intimacy. This research study focuses on the gender differences in the experience of intimacy. Data was collected using a semi-structured interview and the narratives of were analysed to identify themes that indicated commonalities in the experience of intimacy for men and women. However, differences in the experience of intimacy for men and women were also identified. Another focus of the study on the experience of intimacy is the gender differences after the birth of children. Gender differences were identified in the experience of intimacy after the birth of children. The findings also indicated that with the progression of time, marital relationships change from an emphasis on physical experience and expression of intimacy during the initial stages to an emotional emphasis with increase in familiarity between them and the birth of children. There has been recent awareness of moral injury related guilt and shame among doctors and nurses. However, the factors associated with moral injury have not received much attention, due to which the issue still persists. This study aims to explore the role of guilt-shame proneness, and locus of control in predicting moral injury among healthcare professionals. MISS-HP, PGI Locus of Control, and GASP scales were administered to a sample of 806 healthcare professionals. Pearson correlation coefficient indicated a significant positive relationship between moral injury and guilt-shame proneness, as well as the locus of control. Regression analysis indicated a significant role of guilt-shame proneness and locus of control in predicting moral injury. In conclusion, while studying moral injury, it becomes equally important to consider these factors to understand the concept better. 2023 The Author(s). A culturally diverse research group interviewed 45 school counsellors and analysed the data thematically. The findings suggest that humility is a relational and context-dependent trait, highlighting how cultural understandings and enactments of humility shape counsellor-student relationships.
