Employees Job Satisfaction, Work-Life Balance, and Health During the Pandemic
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on private enterprises has been particularly noticeable in the IT and non-ITES sectors. Work came to a complete halt due to the ensuing lockdown, severely affecting businesses and further harming industries like aviation and hospitality. Widespread job losses, shortened workweeks, minimum wage reductions, short-term leave policies, and even company closures have been the results. To understand the extent of these impacts, a descriptive study was conducted online in AprilMay 2021, involving 2439 white-collar workers from various private companies. Convenient sampling methods were used to gather data on the experiences of employees in these sectors during the pandemic. The survey's findings demonstrate a positive but weak association between Work-Life Balance and Health Stress (r?=?0.24, p?<?0.01) and a positive low correlation between Work-Life Balance and Job Satisfaction (r?=?0.23, p?<?0.01). Therefore, work-life balance and job satisfaction among employees were significantly correlated throughout the epidemic. Additionally, there was a negative moderate correlation between Health Stress and Job Satisfaction (r?= ?0.48, p?<?0.01), indicating that as Health Stress decreases, Job Satisfaction increases at moderate levels. The implications of the study were discussed further. The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024. -
Metal-Based Nanoparticles for Infectious Diseases and Therapeutics
Infectious diseases that are easily transmitted by microorganisms like bacteria, protozoa, fungus, etc. are a menace to humans. The greatest threat to human race is to mitigate the impact of these diseases. People with less immunity and children are prone to these diseases. Even healthy people get infected due to its easy transmission. Microorganisms causing these diseases are becoming more resistant to the drugs that are available in the market. So, there is a need to find new therapeutic which is facile, sensitive, and selective, is an important challenge for the medical field and this is where nanotechnology is having a greater chance. Nanoparticles especially metal-based nanoparticles have the ability to act against infectious and non-infectious diseases, this is because of their unique properties like small size, high surface area, etc. They do not have a specific binding site on the bacterial cell, which lead to the failure of bacterial resistant towards the nanoparticle mechanism. There are many nanoparticles which are efficient against particular diseases. In this review we are discussing about the advanced nanomaterials as therapeutics for infectious diseases. We have also discussed about antiviral activities which gives us a ray of hope for the solution of the SARS-COV-2. Analysis of a Fractional Stage-Structured Model With CrowleyMartin Type Functional Response by Lagrange Polynomial Based Method
The dynamics of a stage-structured predator-prey system that replicates interactions between two densities of prey and predator populations were investigated in this work. The adult predator population and the juvenile predator are the two compartments that make up the predator population in the model. The predator relies on both prey and juvenile predator, which is another element of the paradigm that can be termed cannibalism. CrowleyMartin type functional denotes the nature of the interaction between prey and adult predators, while Holling type-I functional response denotes the nature of contact between juvenile and adult predators. The concept of memory is introduced in the form of the Caputo fractional derivative to reflect the complicated dynamics of interaction among the species. As a result, the model is able to incorporate all relevant historical information about the occurrence, from its inception to the desired time, into its calculations. We have also investigated the boundedness and existence and uniqueness of solutions to the proposed model. The condition of existence and stability of various points of equilibrium are investigated. The numerical simulations are performed by using the Lagrange polynomial-based method which is novel in the field of mathematical biology. Simulations have been accomplished to examine the significance of parameters related to cannibalism, the conversion rate from prey to adult predator, harvesting of an adult predator, and growth rate of juvenile predators on the overall behavior of the system. The noteworthy performance of the fractional operator on the anticipated predator-prey models dynamical behavior is well demonstrated by numerical results. Dynamics of the Dadras-Momeni System in the Frame of the Caputo-Fabrizio Fractional Derivative
Investigation of chaos in dynamical systems is one of the most fascinating issues that has received a lot of attention across a variety of scientific domains. One such dynamical system which generates two, three, and four-scroll chaotic attractors with a single parameter change, is the novel Dadras-Momeni system. In this study, we have analyzed the Dadras-Momeni system in the frame of the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative. Theoretical aspects such as boundedness, existence, and uniqueness of solutions are presented. A detailed analysis is presented regarding the stability of points of equilibrium. To regulate chaos in this fractional-order system with unpredictable dynamics, a sliding mode controller is developed and the global stability of the system with control law is established. Later, we introduced uncertainties and external disturbances to the controlled system, and the condition of global stability is derived. To perform numerical simulation we have identified certain values of the parameters where the system exhibits chaotic behavior. Then the theoretical claims about the influence of the controller on the system are established with the help of numerical simulations. 2023 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. -

Importance of Genetic Model in Huntingtons Disease
Huntingtons disease (HD) is the first defect-mapped autosomal-dominant, progressive neurodegenerative disorder with a distinct phenotype found in 1983, which contributed to the concept of human genome project. Thus, the search for genetic defects pioneered various mapping and gene study technological prototypes that culminated in identification of distinct disorders. Huntingtons disease has many symptoms, including chorea and dystonia, incoordination, cognitive decline and dementia, and behavioral difficulties. This disease can manifest any time over the age of 30 years, with the first sign and symptom being behavioral changes, which might include lack of emotions, periods of aggression, excitement, and anger. HD duration varies, ranging from 10 to 25 years or more depending on the individual. It is caused by a single gene defect on chromosome number 4, wherein a person requires only a single copy of the defected gene to show the symptoms; that is, a person with parent with the HD gene has a 50% chance of suffering. The disease becomes prominent in a human being as a result of mutations in a gene called Huntington that is located on the p arm (short arm) of chromosome 4 (4p 16.3). This chapter discusses the genetic model of Huntingtons disease and its importance. An increase in the normal number of repeat CAG (cytosine, adenine, and guanine) segments, (i.e. > 35 CAG) is seen in the Huntington (HTT) mutation that causes the disease. The severity of the disease depends on the sized expansion (i.e. increasing CAG repeats will accelerate the age of onset of the disease). Continuing studies of genetic modifiers-genes whose natural polymorphic variation contribute to the alteration and development of the D gene-offers to open new gateways for early diagnosis by unlocking the biochemical changes that occur years before diagnosis, thereby providing validated target protein and pathways for rational therapeutic interventions. This is also added as a section in this chapter. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Sachchida Nand Rai, Sandeep Singh, Santosh Kumar Singh. -
Extraction of preformed mixed phase graphene sheets from graphitized coal by fungal leaching
The potential use of coal as source of carbon nano structure is seldom investigated. Herein we report a facile fungal solubilization method to extract mixed phase carbon structure from low grade coal. Coal had been used as a primary source for the production of carbon nanostructure with novel property, in addition to its main utility as a fuel. The major hurdle in its application is the inherent mineral embedded in it. An environmentally benign demineralization procedure make coal as a widely accepted precursor for the novel carbon materials. With Aspergiilus niger leaching, the randomly oriented preformed crystalline mixed phase nanocarbon in coal can be extracted. Raman studies revealed the presence of E2g scattering mode of graphite. The sp3 domains at ~1355 cm-1 (D band) is an indication of diamond like structure with disorder or defect. In the 2D region, multilayer stacking of graphene layers is noticed. The ratio of the defect to graphitic bands was found to be decreasing with increasing rank of coal. Bio leaching of coal enhances the carbon content in coal while eliminating the associated minerals in it. These defected carbon is an ideal material for graphene quantum dots and carbon dots, which are useful in drug delivery and bio imaging applications. 2017, IGI Global. All rights reserved. -

Predictive analysis in smart agriculture
Analyzing large databases for hidden connections, correlations and insights is known as big data analytics. Although many countries still use outdated farming methods, technological advancements have allowed for specific improvements (especially in developing countries). Big data analytics has the potential to expand the agricultural sector in this regard significantly. The farmers rely heavily on old methods for deciding what to plant and how to cultivate it. Walking through fields, selecting soil samples for moisture analysis, and visually inspecting plant leaves are typical examples of these time-honored practices. Understanding the significance of technology for acquiring crop information in considerable amounts and turning that data into usable knowledge is crucial for agriculturists (mainly farmers). Integration of big data could help agriculture make changes to its current practices. If used correctly, big data analytics can shed light on the most efficient crop cultivation methods. Extensive developments in three areas-crop prediction, precision farming and seed production-are reshaping the agricultural industry. There are four parts to this chapter. The first part of this paper provides an introduction to analytics on big data in agriculture. The second part will then focus on the various big data methods used in the agricultural sector. The third section provides two examples of how big data analysis methods were put to use in the field of agriculture. In the fourth section, the authors examine the several agricultural research avenues open to scholars and scientists. This chapter concludes with a brief overview. 2023 River Publishers. 2D Photonic Crystal Nano Biosensor with IoT Intelligence
Optical biosensors based on photonic crystals (PCs) offer interesting possibilities for the analysis and identification of bioanalytes. PC is a periodically varying artificial dielectric material that determines the propagation of modes present in the structure. Within dielectric media, there are modes that are selected based on structural perturbations. Changes in the refractive index of biological analytes are used to identify biological samples and are therefore used as sensing media in many applications. Because these PC sensors are designed in the nano range, they have excellent selectivity and sensitivity. The PC is ultra-compact and only small amounts of analyte are required for bioanalyte detection. Quantification of bioanalytes and biochemicals is one of the greatest challenges in the medical and diagnostic fields. However, these electronic devices cannot be directly connected to biological analytes, so the most difficult task is to extract the analyte information and convert it into electronic signals. Optical biosensors offer an attractive way to interrogate the content of bioanalytes because they directly convert biological events into electrical signals. It is also called a self-contained integrated physical medium because of its many applications such as food industry, drug delivery, point-of-care diagnostic sensing devices, and environmental monitoring. Based on the analyte placed on the PC sensor, resonant wavelengths are observed and the measurements are stored in a database. Diseases are identified based on the current users cognitive value, and data is transmitted and monitored over the Internet of Things. 2024 Scrivener Publishing LLC. -
Exosomes as an emerging nanoplatform for functional therapeutics
The release of a division of extracellular entities with 40-100 nm dimension from both tumor and varied mesenchymal stem cells during pathologic conditions is termed as exosomes that are shown to actively participate in chemical signaling events occurring in multicellular organisms infection. Exosomes act as a vehicle for shifting amino acids, lipids, and genetic components that are readily engulfed by far-flanging cells (or adjacent cells) at the site of release for remolding the receptor cell functions once the biological contents get activated. Furthermore, pathogens too display the dispense of exosomes to temper the hosts immune response and trigger the infection rate, making them apt investigation markers for diseases. Additionally, aiding in antigen presentation and immune response stimulation, exosomes are significant in showing contrasting role as initiating anticarcinogenic responses and involving in promoting tumorigenesis as they are released from tumor cells. Due to their site specificity, cell lineage property, and encapsulation of specific constituents, exosomes can be potentially utilized as a precious investigatory and prognostic tool along with a possible carrier of drugs and gene shipment for curative goal. Since exosome groundwork is at the infancy stage, deeper insight is required to know its composition, formation, and targeting mechanism along with its significant role in disease diagnosis and treatment. This states, as mentioned previously, we have tried to focus solely on the functional and clinical implications of exosomes in-depth in this review. 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. -
