Security and privacy aspects in intelligence systems through blockchain and explainable AI
Explainable AI (XAI) is a method of creating artificial intelligence (AI) systems that are transparent and understandable to humans. By allowing people to understand how the system arrived at its conclusions or suggestions, XAI systems strive to make AI more accountable, trustworthy, and ethical. Responsibility, trust, ethics, regulation, and innovation are some of the societal ramifications of XAI. By making AI systems more transparent, XAI fosters accountability. This means that consumers will be able to understand how the system made its decisions and hold it accountable if something goes wrong. By making the decision-making process more transparent, XAI fosters trust between people and AI systems. This boosts user trust in the system and encourages wider adoption of AI technologies. It also contributes to the ethical design of AI systems by making the decision-making process public in order to uncover and mitigate biases and other ethical issues that may occur in AI systems. It aids regulators and policymakers in understanding and regulating AI systems. XAI gives insight into how AI systems operate, which can assist regulators in developing laws that promote ethical and responsible AI use. Because XAI can help developers better and innovate new systems by making it easier for them to design new AI systems and by providing insights into how AI systems work. The proposed chapter will focus on important aspects of algorithmic bias and changing notions of privacy in XAI, which will necessitate the need for AI systems that can adapt accountability, trust, ethics, and compliance with regulations, as well as produce better innovation that can benefit humanity. More openness, greater control over personal data, new types of data privacy, and newer privacy networks are all required. To address algorithmic bias in XAI, it is critical to build the system so that it is aware of the possibility of bias and actively mitigates it. This can involve employing diverse and representative data, inspecting the system for unwanted features, offering detailed explanations, and incorporating a wide range of stakeholders in the system's development and deployment. The envisaged report provides a framework that combines XAI and blockchain to provide a secure and transparent way to store and track the provenance of data used by XAI systems, validate the performance of AI models stored on the blockchain on decentralized systems so that the models are stored and executed on a distributed network of nodes rather than a centralized server, and create a token-based economy that encourages data sharing and AI development. Tokens can be used to compensate individuals and organizations who contribute data or algorithms to the blockchain or who employ AI models stored on the blockchain. Overall, the combination of XAI and blockchain can lead to more trustworthy, transparent, and decentralized AI systems. This approach can have a significant impact on various industries such as finance, healthcare, and supply chain management by increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving data privacy and security. 2024 Elsevier Inc. Security mechanisms in cloud computing-based big data
In the existent system, data is encrypted and stored when passed to the cloud. During any operations on the data, it is decrypted and then the computation is done. This decrypted data is vulnerable and prone to be misused. After the computations are done, the data and the result are encrypted and stored back in the cloud. This creates an overhead to the system as well as increases time complexity. With this chapter, the authors aim to reduce the overhead of the systems to perform repeated encryptions and decryptions. This can be done by allowing the computations to happen directly on the encrypted text. The result obtained by performing computations on encrypted data will be the same as the ones done on the original plain text. This new security solution is fully fit for processing and retrieval of encrypted data, effectively leading to the broad applicable project, the security of data transmission, and the storage of data. The work is secured further with additional concepts like probabilistic and time stamp-based encryption processes. 2021, IGI Global. -

Security Threats and Privacy Issues in Cloud Data
The quick advancement of Web-based applications has led to a huge amount of information being scanned and gathered for business examination or scholarly research purposes, which may disregard individual protection. Organizations, industries and individuals data are at stake. In this paper, utilizing on the Web Personal Health Record (PHR) as contextual analysis, first demonstrate the need of inquiry ability approval that lessens the security introduction coming about because of the list items, and build up a versatile structure for authorized private keyword Search (APKS) over encoded cloud information. This particular model proposes two novel answers for APKS given on-going cryptographic crude, hierarchical predicate encryption (HPE). Our answers empower efficient multi-dimensional watchword looks with a run question, permit assignment and renouncement of hunt abilities. Additionally, the proposed system improves the question protection which conceals clients inquiry watchwords against the server. Actualize our plan on an advanced workstation, and exploratory outcomes exhibit its appropriateness for reasonable use. Privacy has seen advancement lately as information mining of the datasets in a dispersed huge information condition has turned into a successful worldwide business which is none other than data management or data analytics which ensures the security of data. 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. -
Self-Induced Versus Structured Corporate Social Responsibility: The Indian Context
Adoption of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ranks among the top priorities of the corporates in contemporary times. It is treated as a core business practice across the corporate globe. In the year 2013, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India enacted mandatory CSR rules under the Companies Act, 2013 and imposed statutory obligations on the companies operating in India to implement CSR activities. With this, India became one of the first countries in the world to legislate minimum regulatory spends on CSR practices. This chapter aims to evaluate the response of this legislation since the introduction of mandatory CSR rules in India. It looks into the important trends in corporate social responsibility spending of companies in India and also maps the CSR expenditure with various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This chapter forms a case for deliberation for policymakers, practitioners, scholars and business organization to understand the implications of mandatory CSR as well as how Indian companies have responded to this CSR rule. The findings also provide important insights for the other countries promulgating statutory approaches to implement CSR in their own countries. 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG. -
Self-silencing and Attitude Towards Women in the Contemporary World: A Millennial Generation Perspective
Society, including governments and other social agents, advocates for gender equality professionally and personally. Social media, online trends, music, the manufacturing industry, and many more such agencies create inequality in various unorganized forms. Inequality is experienced by people globally, irrespective of their gender, religion, caste, color, socio-economic status, culture, country of origin, sexual preferences, language, food preferences, political ideologies, and so on. By and large, women, irrespective of their gender roles, become the victims, and society develops a stereotype about them, but they keep themselves silent. From developmental aspects, mankind is a part of modern society but still holds a more traditional and conservative attitude towards women. The matter of surprise is the woman herself finds own self trapped in those conventional social norms and chooses to be silent. Being into multiple gender roles, she never externalizes self-perception (as she tends to judge herself by how she thinks other people see her); perceives care as self-sacrifice (putting the other persons needs in front of her own); silences the self (dont speak about own feelings in an intimate relationship when she knows they will cause disagreement) and has divided self (as she finds it harder to be herself when she is in a close relationship than when she is on her own). Considering the same, the current study focuses on understanding the association between self-silencing and attitudes toward women in contemporary society. For this purpose, correlational design was followed, and standardized tools about self-silencing and attitudes towards women were administered to a sample of 101 emerging adults. The present statistical outcomes revealed that younger millennials (born between 1991 and 96) hold a more pro-feminist attitude, whereas older millennials (born between 1981 to 85) still hold more conventional attitudes towards women (t = -3.58; p <.001). It was also found that older millennials were more likely to self-express than younger ones, who prefer to hide their feelings (t = -1.94; <.05). 2024 selection and editorial matter, Dr. Sundeep Katevarapu, Dr. Anand Pratap Singh, Dr. Priyanka Tiwari, Ms. Akriti Varshney, Ms. Priya Lanka, Ms. Aankur Pradhan, Dr. Neeraj Panwar, Dr. Kumud Sapru Wangnue; individual chapters, the contributors. -

Sensitization of university students in supporting underprivileged children
Education is the fundamental right of every child and an essential element of human growth. Indian education is divided into two parts: private and government education. Underprivileged children, affected by socio-economic factors, predominantly choose government education. Government primary educational institutions have failed to cope with the requirements of the corporate world. On the other hand, the students studying in private higher educational institutions seldom think of the challenges that socio-economically underprivileged children face. Genesys is the forum that unites these socio-economically underprivileged children with students at Christ University. Teaching and training disadvantaged children are the social responsibilities of young people, especially those in higher education. Each student should teach at least one person to make it a win-win situation for both learner and trainer. It helps University students build social skills and provides them with the opportunity to become part of the nation-building process. The chapter employed the quantitative study method to analyze the students' perception of teaching underprivileged children and how demographic variables impact it. It also identified the factors influencing the student's academic performance and psychological well-being. The study found that the students gained different skills like interpersonal skills, adaptability, teaching skills, and happiness, and these skills positively impacted their academic performance and psychological wellbeing. The expected outcome of the program supported by the university is to develop a win-win model for both University students and schoolchildren from low-income groups in society 2024 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. -

Servant leadership and diversity: A focus on ethnic and cultural diversity
Business organizations becoming global is nothing new in the current world due to the ever-shrinking physical and communication boundaries. Going global has its benefits and limitations. Benefits would be less expensive land, labor, and resources and reduced transportation cost by being present in countries with vast requirements for an organization's products or services. At the same time, the limitations would be to manage people or lead them toward shared organizational goals. India being a country with enormous opportunities has diverse cultures and practices. Thus, leading various people as employees would be a challenge. What may work in the Western countries may not work in India due to its vast diversity in culture, language, and ethnicity. This research aims to understand the servant leadership approach and if it would be applicable in India. In the context of diverse cultures, the authors analyze the servant leader's role in an organization and compare the practices of servant leadership in various other countries. 2023 by IGI Global. Service learning as a pedagogical strategy: A case study on disability inclusion
Diversity and inclusion are the growing concerns of society and every organisation including higher educational institutions (HEIs) is designing strategies to ensure diversity equality and inclusion (DEI). To understand how students engage with the idea of disability and inclusion in education, this study explores the journey of undergraduate students with an organization for visually challenged students. This qualitative, descriptive study used interviews and focus group discussion (FGD) along with the analysis of chosen reflective journals. SL activities enabled students to reflect on the learning challenges faced by the visually challenged students as well as their caretakers. This also made them reflect on the larger academic environment at the higher education level and come up with suggestions to make the HEIs more inclusive for the visually challenged. This study emphasizes the nature of their engagement and the transformative aspects of the learning process that they experienced by focusing on the students' experiences and challenges. 2024, IGI Global. Sexual realism?: (Hetero)sexual excess and the birth of obscenity in malayalam literature
Introduction The 1930s and 1940s were a period when the reform-centric language of Malayalam literature came under blistering attack from a group of authors who initiated a movement called Jeevatsahithyam - meaning literature close to life. This signified a new momentum in the career of modern Malayalam literature in Keralam in the southern part of India with social realism being introduced as a mode of challenging erstwhile trends. Jeevatsahithyam heralded a novel attempt to eliminate the distance between literature and social realities. Its authors deliberately opposed the hegemony of reform language in literature - a product of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century reform movement. According to them, the language of the reform movement which continued to dominate Malayalam literature was clearly embedded in a vicious circuit consisting of caste, class, and morality. This, as it was commonly argued, was a stumbling block in the realistic representation of social realities in the realm of literature. Jeevatsahithyam was renamed in 1944 as Purogamana Sahithya Sangham (Progressive Literature Society - from here on PLS) (Chandrasekharan 1999; Kumaramkandath 2013). Openly declaring itself against the established morals operating then, its ideological base, however, had to be justified by incorporating the term progress (purogamanam) in its title. Thus, in a larger sense, it signified progressive realism rather than simply social realism. This chapter attempts to delve inside the debates around social realism in Malayalam literature where an ideological battle was staged in the regional public sphere around the questions of, broadly put, aesthetics and morality. It maps the discursive sequences of textual practices from the 1940s to the early 1970s when the depiction of desire in literature was a point of heated debates. I concentrate more on the early debates, particularly in the 1940s and early 1950s because they literally mediated between the rising social (progressive) realisms transgressive writings and the erstwhile reform concerns of engendering disciplined subjects (Devika 2007). As a cultural era, the mid-twentieth century was deeply embedded in the old reform discourses of sexual discipline and the postcolonial euphoria of political freedom. The ensuing concerns over building the nation had a profound impact on the patterns of imagining the sexual in literature. Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla 2020. -
