Fractional approach for mathematical model of phytoplankton-toxic phytoplankton-zooplankton system with Mittag-Leffler kernel
The solution for phytoplankton-toxic phytoplankton-zooplankton system with q-homotopy analysis transform method (q-HATM) is discussed. The projected system exemplifies three components (namely, zooplankton, toxic-phytoplankton as well as phytoplankton) and the corresponding nonlinear ordinary differential equations exemplify the zooplankton feeds on phytoplankton. The projected method is an amalgamation of q-homotopy analysis algorithm and Laplace transform and the derivative associated with the Atangana-Baleanu (AB) operator. The equilibrium points and stability have been discussed with the assistance of the Routh-Hurwitz rule in this work within the frame of generalized calculus. The fixed-point theorem is employed to present the existence and uniqueness of the attained result for the considered model, and we consider five different initial conditions for the projected system. Further, the physical nature of the achieved solution has been captured for fractional order, external force and diverse mass. The achieved consequences explicate that the proposed solution method is highly methodical, easy to implement and accurate to analyze the behavior of the nonlinear system relating to allied areas of science and technology. 2023 World Scientific Publishing Company. -
Fractional p()-Kirchhoff Type Problems Involving Variable Exponent Logarithmic Nonlinearity
In this paper, we investigate a fractional p()-Kirchhoff type problem involving variable exponent logarithmic nonlinearity. With the help of the Nehari manifold approach, the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial weak solutions for the above problem are obtained. Fractional study of a novel hyper-chaotic model involving single non-linearity
The applications of hyperchaotic systems (HCSs) can be widely seen in diverse fields associated with engineering due to their complicated dynamics, randomness, and high delicacy and sensibility. In the present work, we aim to investigate a new hyper-chaotic system involving a single non-linearity under the fractional CaputoFabrizio (CF) derivative for the first time. In fact, there is no previous study using fractional derivatives in this system. A new mathematical system using a fractional-order operator will be designed with the novel operator. The CaputoFabrizio non-integer operator is aimed to be employed to capture complex nature. In order to solve the extracted dynamical system, a quadratic numerical scheme is applied. This study contains stability and convergence sections for the considered method. Moreover, numerical results of the problem under various values of fractional orders and different values of initial conditions (ICs) are provided to show the performance of the suggested scheme. Fragile pillars of food security: exploring the challenges of availability, accessibility, and quality for global food regime; [Pilares freis da seguran alimentar: explorao dos desafios de disponibilidade, acessibilidade e qualidade para o regime alimentar global]
Hunger is a critical issue impacting a greater part of the world. Food distribution systems are failing millions of people, thereby leading to the crisis of food security. Various international declarations, like the UDHR and the ICESCR, have designated food and basic nutrition as integral elements of human rights. Therefore, provision for adequate and affordable food to all has become the dominant value for relevant regulatory and policy regimes. The problem is particularly sensitive to war-like events as is revealed by troubling statistics emerging against the backdrop of Covid-19, Russia-Ukraine War, and Israel-Hamas crisis. All these recent events have increased global food security concerns. This paper evaluates the fragile nature of food security in its multidisciplinary dimension. The methodology undertaken is a combination of quantitative and qualitative analytical mechanisms to explore the multidimensional issues of food insecurity. A systematic approach has been taken to identify food availability, food accessibility, food utilization, and environmental vulnerability as the intrinsic obstacles to any regulatory intervention. In this context, the paper analyses challenges to food accessibility as the core problem of right to food and food sovereignty regimes. It signifies the connection between the structural notion of accessibility and the legal concept of right to food through food sovereignty. It analyses the causal linkages between the problem of food security and other fundamental policy challenges, like poverty, unemployment, and social inequality. The international nature of the crisis is also manifested in the classic developed-developing nations divide. It, consequently, highlights the structural inefficiencies of the powerful international bodies, like the WTO, the World Bank, and the IMF. The comprehensive nature of the problem is explored through the idea of food sovereignty, which signifies the cultural sensitivity of food and nutrition. Food insecurity is not merely a productivity problem. Framework for proactive visualization of text based narrative using NLP
Language is an essential mode, not only for human communicationbut also for thinking. A story is conveyed or a report of an incident is being told, humans perceive the conveyed information in the form of visual insights. The increasing advancements in the field of artificial intelligence can help with the same in machines. This paper reflects on the internalization of stories from a cognitive perspective and outlines a scalable framework for supporting the visualization of narrative text data. This paper leverages natural language processing (NLP), probabilistic modelling of discourse knowledge, information extraction of narrative components (who, where, when, what) and the narrative visualization. The graphics knowledge base storage structure has been redesigned to obviate the necessity of having a larger database for all graphics entity. With the developed framework, any user can input unrestricted natural language for the dynamic generation of animated scenes. This provides users with direct visual output in response to their natural language input. Framework for Sustainable Energy Management using Smart Grid Panels Integrated with Machine Learning and IOT based Approach.
Maintaining a consistent supply of power is essential for the well-being of the economy, the public, and one's own health. The generation of energy, as well as its distribution, monitoring, and management, are all undergoing fundamental changes as a result of the implementation of a smart grid (SG), which is authorised to include communication technology and sensors into power systems. There are a lot of problems that need to be fixed before the interoperability of the smart grid can be determined. The integration of renewable energy sources and smart grid technology market size and energy management is a sustainable solution to the problem of energy demand management. The importance work quickly toward the development of an efficient Energy Management Model (EMM) that integrates smart grids and renewable energy sources. When it comes to the modelling of complex and non-linear data, machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT) approaches often perform better than statistical models. So, utilizing a machine learning approach for the EMM is a good option since it simplifies the EMM by generating a single trained model to anticipate its performance characteristics across all conditions. This may be accomplished via the use of an EMM created using an ML method. It was recommended that a certain flexibility sample be used as a control mechanism for incursion into the smart grid. Framing and control for sustainability of industries
Purpose: The paper attempts to frame the challenge of managing the transition to a sustainable economy by way of a conceptual model consisting of a zero-footprint regulatory regime and a sustainability fund. Design/methodology/approach: A conceptual model of the sustainable industrial revolution has been developed based on the learnings from industries such as originators (mining), farming, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and chemicals and long-lasting artefacts against an overall perspective. Findings: It is suggested to have an institutional structural mechanism in place to ensure that footprint is minimized through recycling including refurbishing, resale or transformation. This includes management of recycling businesses through execution of a zero-waste regulatory regime that will build and use a sustainability fund. Research limitations/implications: The limitations of the paper are arising out of the topic being an issue of gigantic proportions with immense complexity. An attempt has been made to bring out the inescapability and the imperative of a sustainable industrial revolution. Practical implications: This paper presents practical aspects such as collusion between trash and recycling businesses, land use and social aspects of criticality of public support. If implemented, the suggested model can make a paradigm shift in the way firms, industry and governments can handle the challenge of sustainability. Friction and wear behaviour of copper reinforced acrylonitrile butadiene styrene based polymer composite developed by fused deposition modelling process
This paper focuses on the development of copper filled Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) composites by fused deposition modelling (FDM) and to characterize its friction and wear behaviour. Twin screw extrusion technique was employed to extract copper-ABS composite filament. Three different materials were tested, i.e. pure ABS, ABS+2.5wt% Cu and ABS+5wt% Cu. Friction and wear characteristics of pure ABS and copper filled ABS composites were tested under various loads and sliding velocities. Addition of Copper powder has significantly improved the friction and wear properties of the developed composites. Further, it is also observed that friction and wear behaviour increased with increase in copper content in ABS. Worn out surfaces were subjected to scanning electron microscopy studies to analyse and identify the possible wear mechanisms involved. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Belgrade. -
Friction and wear behaviour of HVOF sprayed Cr2O3-TiO2 coatings on aluminium alloy
This study investigates the tribological behaviour of Cr2O3-TiO2 composite coatings deposited on aluminium 6061 alloy. Cr2O3-TiO2 composite coatings were deposited by high velocity oxyfuel (HVOF) technique. Developed coatings were subjected to microstructure studies, microhardness test (ASTM E92), friction and wear test (ASTM G99). Pin-on-disc machine was used to evaluate friction and wear characteristics of Cr2O3-TiO2 coatings. Effect of sliding velocity (0.314 m/s-1.26 m/s) and load (20 N-100 N) on friction and wear characteristics of Cr2O3-TiO2 coatings were studied and compared with uncoated aluminium alloy. Results showed 54% improvement in hardness of Cr2O3-TiO2 coatings in comparison with aluminium alloy. Coefficient of friction and wear rate decreases by 12% and 48% respectively when evaluated with uncoated aluminium alloy. Coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rate increases with increase in load and sliding velocity for both coatings and substrate. However, Cr2O3-TiO2 coatings showed lower wear rate and COF at all the loads and sliding velocities studied when compared with uncoated aluminium alloy. Worn out surfaces of uncoated and Cr2O3-TiO2 coated surfaces were subjected to SEM analysis to understand the wear mechanisms in composite coatings. 2021 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.. Friction Stir Welding of Dissimilar Aluminium Alloys for Vehicle Structures
Welding process in vehicle structures has gained importance, especially for better strength and mechanical properties. Hence, there is vast research going on in the domain of newer welding techniques. Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is one of them. FSW is used in this research to join two different grades of aluminium alloys by varying the process parameters. The process parameters are optimized based on the Design of Experiments (DoE) and the Taguchi techniques. From the experimental findings for different process parameters, the optimized set of conditions involving the normal, transverse forces and the torque are determined. From a recession to the COVID-19 pandemic: Inflation-unemployment comparison between the UK and India
The recession in India and the UK peaked in 2017 due to the implications of new policy initiatives. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of 2020 intensified the crisis, causing a drastic decline in aggregate demand and output. India and the UK have resorted to monetary and fiscal stimulus packages to face the economic crisis. This study investigated the inflation-unemployment dynamics during the recession and COVID-19 times in India and the UK. Using a generalized additive model (GAM), the results of this study revealed that the recession had given way to stagflation in India. In contrast, in the UK, it has led to a more severe recession in the short-run. During the downturn, policy initiatives aggravate the recession and eventually turn to stagflation in India due to inflation caused by the weak supply side. However, in the UK, the policy initiatives during this downturn pushed the economy into a deeper recession due to reduced demand. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a similar recessionary impact on both economies. A time horizon based recovery plan is suggested to help the economies recover from stagflation and even deeper recession. From maximum force to the field equations of general relativity and implications
There are at least two ways to deduce Einstein's field equations from the principle of maximum force c4/4G or from the equivalent principle of maximum power c5/4G. Tests in gravitational wave astronomy, cosmology, and numerical gravitation confirm the two principles. Apparent paradoxes about the limits can all be resolved. Several related bounds arise. From physical to digital: what drives generation Z for mobile commerce adoption?
Purpose: This study aims to identify factors affecting generation Z as the early adopters of mobile commerce (m-commerce). The research seeks to explore their behavioral intention to adopt m-commerce in India with consideration of gender differences while providing empirical validation for the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Design/methodology/approach: In this study, a modified TPB model has been used to explain generation Zs intention to adopt m-commerce. The proposed model was tested using a survey method with a sample of 245 students from a private university in Northern India. Subgroup analysis was performed to find gender differences in the process of adopting m-commerce. Findings: All three independent constructs have a positive influence on the behavioral intention of generation Z to adopt m-commerce. Further, the male subgroup has a lower beta value for attitude and higher beta value for subjective norm in comparison to the female subgroup. For perceived behavioral control, no significant difference in beta value across gender could be established. Practical implications: A better understanding of generation Z behavioral intentions will be of great use to telecom companies, marketers and electronic commerce companies to formulate strategies to expedite the use of m-commerce. As gender plays an important role in attitude and subjective norms, companies are advised to target their communication tactics in accordance to gender. Originality/value: To the best of the authors knowledge, this study is one of the first to test TPB and generation Z association in the context of m-commerce adoption in India. From the homestead to centerstage: A journey of empowerment; [De la granja al centro de escena: Un viaje de empoderamiento]
The Kerala Model of Development has been widely acclaimed for its contribution in generating favourable social indices at par with Scandinavia. The central issue to the development in almost all underdeveloped and developing countries is the empowerment of women constituents. In Kerala, the story of empowerment of women is not just economic, but psychological too. Under Article 243(D) of the Constitution of India, there is a mandate to provide 50% reservation for women in Local Self-Government Institutions (LSGIs). This constitutional amendment is regarded as a path-breaking move to empower women at the grassroots level. This article portrays the impact of government interventions for ensuring the participation of women in decision-making as well as in the power structure in LSGIs. The researcher(s) used multiple case study design and adopted purposive sampling. The data was collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were used for triangulation. The finding of the study shows that how the women are empowered though various government interventions such as Kudumbashree (the name of Keralas Poverty Eradication Mission), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (the job guarantee scheme in India), Accredited Social Health Activist Scheme (a scheme of National Rural Health Mission) and Local Self-Government Institutions. 2020, Hipatia Editorial.
