Influence of ChatGPT in professional communication moderating role of perceived innovativeness
Purpose: ChatGPT, a cutting-edge language model, stands as an unparalleled, unmatched conversational ally, showcasing novel versatility and intelligence in its responses. This research delves into the incorporation of ChatGPT, a powerful generative AI tool, into professional communication. This study utilizes the information system success model (ISSM) to examine the role of ChatGPTs in strengthening information quality (IQ), system quality (SQ) and service quality (SEQ) for improving customer usage intention (UI) and satisfaction (SAT). The study also investigates the moderating impact of perceived innovativeness between these relationships. Design/methodology/approach: The research collected data from a sample of 400 customers through an online survey and validated the hypothesized relationships using structural equation modelling (SEM). Process Macros 4.1 in SPSS 22.0 is used to test the moderating role of perceived innovation between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Findings: The results of SEM analysis indicate that IQ, SQ and SEQ all positively support UI to use ChatGPT for professional communication with SAT. The result also establishes that perceived innovativeness positively moderates the relationship between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Originality/value: This research study offers novel contributions to the literature and body of knowledge by establishing the moderating role of perceived innovativeness in strengthening the relationship between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Further, this study also proposes a 2*2 matrix to segment the UI and SAT of ChatGPT users in professional communication with varying degrees of perceived innovativeness. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited. -
Influence of composite mixtures between nematic liquid crystal and porous carbon nanoparticles towards photoluminescence and UV absorbance
The optical parameters of the liquid crystalline materials can be tuned by the dispersion of nanoparticles. Concentration of dopant in the host LC material affects its optical properties significantly, which makes the dispersed system suitable for LC-based devices. In the present investigation, we have studied the effect of different concentrations of nanoparticles on the optical properties of LC, as a guesthost system, where PCNP is guest material and NLC is host material. Porous carbon nanoparticles (PCNPs) were dispersed into the nematic liquid crystal (NLC) in three different concentrations. Optical parameters were measured for pure NLC and NLC-PCNP composites. Photoluminescence (PL) study was performed and it was found that the PL intensity increased for the PCNP dispersed system. High photoluminescence has much importance in the luminescent displays. Full width half maxima (FWHM) were also determined by the Gaussian fitting of PL intensity data. UV absorbance was also measured which gets increased for the PCNP dispersed NLC system when compared to pure NLC. Optical bandgap was found to be reduced after the dispersion of PCNP into NLC. Several other parameters such as absorption coefficient and optical density were also determined. The proposed work may be significant for the liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and other devices which require less bandgap materials. This work may also put some light on the effect of dopants on the LC material in the research based on guesthost system. Influence of Consumers Self Perception on Devaluation of Ugly Produce Marketing Strategies to Reduce Food Waste in the Indian Context
Ugly produce refers to aesthetically imperfect fruits and vegetables and also fruits and vegetables with minor blemishes. Ugly produce does not refer to spoilt, rotten, or germ-infected fruits and vegetables. The basic premise of this study is from self-signaling and self-perception theories. The self-signaling theory states that when people make a choice, they disclose something of their character and personality not just to others, but also to themselves. Self-perception theory (SPT) developed by psychologist Daryl Bem asserts that people develop their attitudes by observing their own behavior and further concluding what attitudes must have caused it. Classically, consumers undervalue ugly produce because of altered self-perceptions; simply visualizing the consumption of imperfect produce acts as a self-indicative signal that negatively affects how consumers view themselves. Due to this, the unattractive produce, even though perfectly edible and with the same taste and nutritional value, is rejected by consumers merely based on shape or some other cosmetic blemish. We discussed the strategies adopted by Indian startups and organizations to reduce food waste. Deep discounting is the strategy followed by food retailers worldwide to sell ugly produce, however, this is not the best strategy as it leads to losses for both the retailers as well as the farmers. We suggested alternative strategies successfully followed by foreign retailers, such as spreading awareness, boosting self-confidence and esteem among consumers, attracting kids, etc., which can be followed by Indian food retailers for selling ugly fruits and vegetables. 2022, Associated Management Consultants Pvt. Influence of Economic Benefits and Social Interaction on Buyer Participation in a Rural Retail Institution: Study of an Indian Periodic Market
Retail institutions offer economic and social benefits to the participants in a market. It is expected that in a less developed economy the social factors influence economic behaviour much more than in developed economies. The rural markets offer increased opportunities for the influence of social factors on economic transactions. This study examined the case of a rural periodic market. To ensure reliability the case study protocol questions reflected propositions developed on the research questions. It was expected that the participants would exhibit the influence of social relations in their market transactions. The results indicated that the economic benefits than social considerations influenced participant behaviour in the rural periodic market. Contrary to expectations not all consumers in a less developed economy exhibit social embeddedness in economic behaviour. Implications are for policymakers involved in planning and regulating rural markets. They need to take into consideration the differing behaviour of consumer groups in designing or regulating retail markets. Influence of electrochemical co-deposition of bimetallic Pt-Pd nanoclusters on polypyrrole modified ITO for enhanced oxidation of 4-(hydroxymethyl) pyridine
Bimetallic Pt-Pd nanoparticles were dispersed on polypyrrole coated indium-tin oxide coated polyethylene terephthalate sheets (ITO-PET sheets). The excellent filming property of pyrrole gives a high porous uniform active area for the proper adsorption of bimetallic transition metal nanoparticles. Electrochemical behavior of the modified electrodes was determined using cyclic voltammetry and impedance studies. The physicochemical properties of the modified electrodes were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. To study the electrochemical oxidation of 4-(hydroxymethyl) pyridine in the presence of sodium nitrate in aqueous acidic medium, the modified electrode was used. It is evident from the study that the modified electrode shows better electrochemical activity towards the oxidation of 4-(hydroxymethyl) pyridine. 2022 The Royal Society of Chemistry. -

Influence of employees' perception on the use of flexible work arrangements
The study aims to explore the factors that influence the perception of employees on the usability of flexible work arrangements and to predict whether those factors induce them to opt for such flexible practices. The data was collected from 239 Indian employees working across different sectors of the country. The study employed a quantitative approach for data collection by using a structured questionnaire consisting of close-ended questions. The data was analyzed using factor analysis, binomial logistic regression and Analysis of Variance on SPSS Statistics 25. The study identified five major factors that influenced the employees perception about using flexible work options. Among them two factors namely, FWA perquisites and FWA anxiety were found significant in predicting the employees use of flexible work options. Further, it was found that married employees recognized strong benefits from using flexible options. This study contributes to the existing literature by unveiling the mindset of Indian employees towards flexible work arrangement and suggests that the employers, society and the government should create favorable environment for deploying flexible work practices. 2020 IJSTR. -
Influence of family-work conflict on career break decision among Indian women: when family ties, tie you down!
The study is an attempt to understand the influence of the constructs in the family domain on the career break decision of women employed in the service sector in India a country facing a conundrum of rising female literacy and falling workforce participation. This study proposes a model that explores the direct and indirect relationship between the antecedents of family-work conflict and intention to quit. Data from a sample of 346 women, who had experienced career-break in service sector, was collected through purposive sampling. The researchers probed the relationship between family-work-conflict and intention to quit and mediating influence of job and life satisfaction. Hypotheses were tested though structural equation modelling. Results confirmed that role-overload and gender-stereotyped beliefs were found to be the most significant constructs. Job satisfaction came across as having mediating effect. Stakeholders need to facilitate a path that permits her to continue to nurture her family without having to give up her dreams. 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. -

Influence of grandparents on the emotional intelligence of early adolescents in Kerala
Children find unique acceptance in their relationships with grandparents, which benefits them emotionally and mentally. The presence of grandparents in the family can be a source of great support for other family members, especially children and adolescents. They are often role models, playmates and mentors for younger generations. The aim of the study is to compare emotional intelligence of adolescents with regard to the influence of grandparents through a quantitative research design. The sample taken for this research comprised of 427 adolescents of VIII to XII standards, among which 278 were from nuclear families and 149 from three generation families. They belonged to ten different government aided urban state syllabus English medium schools in Kerala. Mangal Emotional Intelligence Inventory was used to yield the total score and four dimensional scores in areas of Intrapersonal awareness, Interpersonal awareness, Intrapersonal management and Interpersonal management in adolescents. An independent sample t-test between two types of families indicated that grandparents have an influence on the emotional intelligence of adolescents. Influence of heat treatment and reinforcements on tensile characteristics of aluminium aa 5083/silicon carbide/fly ash composites
The effect of reinforcements and thermal exposure on the tensile properties of aluminium AA 5083silicon carbide (SiC)fly ash composites were studied in the present work. The specimens were fabricated with varying wt.% of fly ash and silicon carbide and subjected to T6 thermal cycle conditions to enhance the properties through precipitation hardening. The analyses of the microstructure and the elemental distribution were carried out using scanning electron microscopic (SEM) images and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The composite specimens thus subjected to thermal treatment exhibit uniform distribution of the reinforcements, and the energy dispersive spectrum exhibit the presence of Al, Si, Mg, O elements, along with the traces of few other elements. The effects of reinforcements and heat treatment on the tensile properties were investigated through a set of scientifically designed experimental trials. From the investigations, it is observed that the tensile and yield strength increases up to 160?C, beyond which there is a slight reduction in the tensile and yield strength with an increase in temperature (i.e., 200?C). Additionally, the % elongation of the composites decreases substantially with the inclusion of the reinforcements and thermal exposure, leading to an increase in stiffness and elastic modulus of the specimens. The improvement in the strength and elastic modulus of the composites is attributed to a number of factors, i.e., the diffusion mechanism, composition of the reinforcements, heat treatment temperatures, and grain refinement. Further, the optimisation studies and ANN modelling validated the experimental outcomes and provided the training models for the test data with the correlation coefficients for interpolating the results for different sets of parameters, thereby facilitating the fabrication of hybrid composite components for various automotive and aerospace applications. 2021 by the authors. -
Influence of higher-order modes on ferroconvection
Using Fourier representations, an elaborate study of regular cellular-convective and chaotic motions in a ferrofluid is made. Investigation is made on the adequacy or otherwise of the minimal mode in studying such motions. Higher-order modes are also considered by adding modes (vertical/horizontal/combined extension). For higher modes, the extensions yield a dynamical system of order greater than three. The characteristic features of extended ferromagnetic-Lorenz models are analyzed using the largest Lyapunov exponent(LE), second largest LE, bifurcation diagram, and phase-space plots. The effect of additional modes on critical modal-Rayleigh (infinitesimal and finite-amplitude ones) numbers and the Rayleigh number at which transition to chaos occurs are examined to report features of ferroconvection hitherto unseen in previous studies. As both horizontal and vertical modes are increased, our findings infer that the dynamical system displays advanced onset of regular convection and delayed chaotic motion. Vigorous-chaotic motion is seen on adding vertical modes, whereas on adding horizontal modes, intense chaos appears with decreased intensity for large values of the scaled Rayleigh number. Most important finding from the study is that as modes are increased (vertical/horizontal), the transition from regular to chaotic motion is greatly modified and leads the system to a hyper-chaotic state. Conventionally, the chaotic or hyper-chaotic state is intermittent with a periodic/quasi-periodic state but it can be retained in the chaotic or hyper-chaotic state by considering moderate values of the Prandtl number and/or by bringing in the ferromagnetic effect. 2022 Author(s). -
Influence of HRM practices on organizational commitment: A study among software professionals in India
Although organizational commitment has been discussed frequently in organizational psychology for almost four decades, few studies have involved software professionals. A study in India reveals that HRM practices such as employee-friendly work environment, career development, developmentoriented appraisal, and comprehensive training show a significant positive relationship with organizational commitment. The study's results emphasize the role of such HRD variables as inculcating and enhancing organizational commitment, and suggest that HRD practitioners and researchers should further develop commitment-oriented organization policies. Influence of hydrothermal synthesis conditions on lattice defects in cerium oxide
Cerium oxide makes one of the most promising materials for chemical transformations in environmental and energy applications. Herein, the influence of hydrothermal conditions on the physico-chemical characteristics of cerium oxide prepared from salt solution via ammonia precipitation is analyzed. The systems are well characterized using SEM, TEM, XRD analysis, photoluminescence spectra, Raman spectra, TPR study. and XPS analysis. Normal aqueous conditions lead to particles of size ~8 ?nm, with truncated octahedral geometry, closer to spheroid shape (RT-Ce) bound by {111} and {100} planes. Elevated temperature facilitated preferential exposed {100} plane bounded cubic ceria structures of size ~15 ?nm (HT-Ce), which are stabilized by more number of anion vacancies. Low temperature synthesis yielded smaller sized particles with less crystallinity and higher surface area, when compared to hydrothermal route. Lattice defects, represented in terms of Ce3+ ions and associated lattice oxygen vacancies are seen in higher amounts in ceria synthesised via hydrothermal path, as supported by various characterization results. CeO2 achieved via hydrothermal path exhibited higher catalytic oxidation activity, which is examined using a model oxidation reaction, vis., CO oxidation. The enhanced activity of HT-Ce is explained through the defect structure induced facile redox shift in the system. 2021 Elsevier Inc. -
Influence of non-linear thermal radiation on the dynamics of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions between the cone and the disk
Purpose: The current work presents a theoretical framework to boost heat transmission in a ternary hybrid nanofluid with homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions in the conical gap between the cone and disk apparatus. Furthermore, the impacts of non-linear thermal radiation on the ternary hybrid nanofluid composed of white graphene, diamond, and titanium dioxide dispersed in water are analyzed. Originality/value: The combination of cone and disk systems is crucial for designing efficient heat exchange devices in the field of biomedical science for various purposes. For instance, in medical devices, the cone-disk apparatus is used to study the flow and heat transfer characteristics for better design and functionality. Hence, a sincere attempt has been made to study the impact of homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions on the nanofluid flow between the cone and disk in the presence of non-linear thermal radiation. Design/methodology/approach: The mathematical model's governing equations are partial differential equations (PDEs) which are then transformed into non-linear ordinary differential equations through appropriate similarity transformations. These transformed resultant equations are approximated by the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth/fifth order (RKF45) technique. The influence of essential aspects on the flow field, heat, and mass transfer rates was analyzed using a graphical representation. Findings: The interesting part of this research is to discuss the power of parameters in three cases, namely, (1) rotating cone/disk, (2) rotating cone/stationary disk, and (3) stationary cone/rotating disk. Furthermore, the thermal variation of the fluid is analyzed by an artificial neural network with the help of the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm. The regression analysis, mean square error, and error histogram of the neural network are analyzed using this algorithm. From the graph, it is perceived that the flow field climbed up significantly with an increase in the values of radiation parameters in all cases. Also, it is noticed that temperature upsurges significantly by upward values of solid volume fraction of the nanoparticles (?). 2024 the author(s), published by De Gruyter. -
Influence of organization ethos on research competence of teachers in higher education institutions
The standards of research depend on the maintenance and coordination of research activities that are conducted by the teachers in higher education institutions. The flexibility in ordinances and statutes empowers the higher education institutions to frame the guidelines that empower the research competence of the teachers. This descriptive research has collected the data from 451 regular teachers of higher education institutions from different areas of discipline for the research. The results of the study show that there is a significant difference in measures of the perceptions of the teachers towards the relationship between organization ethos and research competence in higher education institutions. Influence of perceived equity, job enrichment, and burnout among educators in Indian private universities on job satisfaction and the desire to quit
The desire to quit converts into actual attrition if left unaddressed. Additionally, employees job satisfaction strongly influences their desire to stay or leave. Several individual and organizational factors affect job satisfaction levels, all of which must be thoroughly analyzed to curb both the desire to quit and attrition. The current study tests a model associating perceived equity, job enrichment, and burnout with job satisfaction and the desire to quit of educators employed in private universities in India. Data were collected from 272 university faculty members using five scales, namely, job enrichment, perceived equity, employee burnout, job satisfaction, and intention to leave, and were analyzed using AMOS 17. The initial fitness results failed to support the hypothesized framework, but a revised framework yielded a good fit for the data. Results show that perceived equity has a positive influence on job satisfaction (Hypothesis 2), job enrichment positively affects job satisfaction (Hypothesis 3), burnout negatively influences job satisfaction (Hypothesis 4), and job satisfaction negatively affects the desire to leave (Hypothesis 1). Perceived equity, burnout, and job satisfaction were found to mediate the association between job enrichment and the desire to leave. The results indicate that private universities must focus on job satisfaction to reduce employees desire to quit, thereby reducing the attrition level, which is currently a severe problem with both financial and non-financial consequences to universities. From the results, it can be seen that job enrichment has acted as a mediator to influence employees job satisfaction. Future research can explore HR practices contributing to high job enrichment, and this study would have considerable practical implications. Copyright 2022 Annamalai. -
Influence of Planting Methods on Growth, Yield and Storage of Onion (Allium cepa L.) var. Bhima Shakti
Background: Successful crop production in any crop depends on the good agronomic practices. Being a commercial crop, onion needs good attention during the crop growth stages, most of the times, in onion cultivation farmers follow broadcasting method which leads to the wastage of seeds, seedling mortality and poor germination and it will affect the total yield and productivity. Methods: To identify the best planting method an investigation on performance of seed drill versus transplanted onion was conducted at University of Agricultural Sciences, Main Agriculture Research Station, Dharwad. Result: Results indicated that, T3- (Transplanting) performed superior for all the vegetative and yield parameters studied. Plant height 55.57 cm, leaf number (7.86, 8.29 and 8.08 in pooled), Leaf width (1.03 cm, 0.99 cm pooled 1.01 cm). Total yield: (21.97 t/ha, 22.05 t/ha and 22.01 t/ha), marketable yield (20.74 t/ha 20.95 t/ha and 20.85 t/ha), bulb weight (64.00 g, 53.00 g and 53.90 g in pooled, analysis).
