Effective proactive routing protocol using smart nodes system
Small Power Restricted Unit (PRU) platform known as the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) to monitor a Large Region of Interest (ROI) and send data to the Base Station (BS). Accurately capturing the ROI and communicating observed information to the BS over the longest period is indeed the main problem facing WSN. Despite the latest introduction of many power routing algorithms in regular monitoring applications, the variable environment and complex environment for WSN applications end up creating these procedures as an important task. This study Degree Restricted Tree (DRE) nodes for such networks, including a BS outside of the ROI in a homogeneous pre-emptive WSN. The optimal degree of a node with low DRT energy consumption is determined because the degree of a node affects the network lifespan of these forms of connections. To provide an equitable distribution of the burden in terms of transmission power, this study then suggests a Joint Decentralized Antenna (JDA) algorithm which is based on several antenna theories. With an optimum node density and DRT base, JDA is made for frequent surveillance systems with real-time applications. The results validate our research, which emphasizes that the network throughput of DRT is doubled when utilizing optimum node angles as opposed to certain other node degrees. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that introducing JDA into DRT with ideal network density increases the network's latency thus eliminating the proportion between the unstable period and the lifetime of the network in halves. Additionally, it displays a 25% improvement in network lifespan and the lowest rate of node loss when compared to the existing system ensuring that halves of nodes are still alive just a few rounds even before the lifetime of the network expires. 2022 The Authors -
Impact of user-generated content on purchase intention for fashion products: A study on women consumers in Bangalore
The advent of online media has been instrumental in providing consumers with quick, relevant, and convenient information on products and services. The success of such media has been established for businesses such as tourism, automobile, and consumer electronics- wherein consumers tend to decide on final purchases based on user - generated content (UGC) such as customer reviews and feedback rather than on traditional advertising media. With short lead times, quick turnaround of products, and frequent changes in offerings, the fashion industry is also exploring the use of such user-generated content for marketing its products. This study sought to explore and understand the relevant factors that draw consumers towards the usage of user-generated content (UGC) in the online space for the fashion business, and its impact on the purchase intention for different categories of fashion products. The study focused on the cosmopolitan city of Bengaluru, known for its fashion centricity and brand awareness. It attempted to analyze the factors for reference to media content generated by co-consumers, especially amongst women, and inferred that content that provides them with gratifications relating to social acceptance are more liable to positively influence their intent to purchase. It also specifically identified product categories that are liable to benefit from such content. -
Transformer performance enhancement by optimized charging strategy for electric vehicles
Transformer efficiency and regulation, are to be maintained at maximum and minimum respectively by optimal loading, control, and compensation. Charging of electric vehicles at random charging stations will result in uncertain loading on the distribution transformer. The efficiency reduces and regulation increases as a consequence of this loading. In this work, a novel optimization strategy is proposed to map electric vehicles to a charging station, that is optimal with respect to the physical distance, traveling time, charging cost, the effect on transformer efficiency and regulation. Consumer and utility factors are considered for mapping electric vehicles to charging stations. An Internet of Things platform is used to fetch the dynamic location of electric vehicles. The dynamic locations are fed to a binary optimization problem to find an optimal routing table that maps electric vehicles to a charging station. Novel carbon nano-onions from paraffinum liquidum for rapid and efficient removal of industrial dye from wastewater
Carbon nano-onions (CNOs) are fascinating zero-dimensional carbon materials owning distinct multi-shell architecture. Their physicochemical properties are highly related to the parent material selected and the synthesis protocol involved. In the present work, we report for the first time novel CNO structures encompassing discrete carbon allotropes, namely, H18 carbon, Rh6 carbon, and n-diamond. These structures were cost-effectively synthesized in gram scale by facile flame pyrolysis of paraffinum liquidum, a highly refined mineral oil. The as-synthesized and chemically refashioned CNOs are quasi-spherical self-assembled mesopores, manifesting remarkable stability and hydrophilicity. The CNO structures exhibit excellent dye adsorption characteristics with high removal capacity of 1397.35mg/g and rapid adsorption kinetics with a minimal adsorbent dosage of 10mg/L, for a low concentration of 20mg/L methylene blue dye. The novel CNOs assure potential implementation in the remediation of low concentration and high volume of dye-contaminated wastewater. Green Synthesis of Reduced Graphene Nanostructure from Cinnamomum Camphora
A facile green synthesis for carbon nanoparticle production using Cinnamomum camphora (Camphor) is presented. Camphor upon carbonization and chemical oxidation leads to the formation of nano-carbon structures with lateral size 7.33nm to 4.14nm, respectively. The nanomaterial's stacking height is about 2.76nm and 3.10nm, leading to the formation of about 10 layers of carbon. The AFM analysis confirms that the graphene layer formed is wrinkled or folded. Developments of a layered structure with spheroids are observed on the sample's surface, confirming the graphitization of the amorphous carbon. The relative intensity of the defect to the graphite band is found to be 0.98 for the nanostructure indicating a lesser degree of defects. The C1s band of the nanostructure is deconvoluted to components at 284.7, 286.5, 287.3, and 289 eV, which are assigned to non-oxygenated ring carbon (sp2 carbon), C in C-O (bound to O either as epoxy or hydroxyl), C in C=O (of alcohols, phenols or ether), and C in C(O)O (carboxylic acid) respectively. The study reveals the formation of few-layer oxygenated carbon layers from the botanical hydrocarbon. 2020 by the authors. -
Stability Testing and Restoration of a DEIG-Based Wind Power Plant with Indirect Grid Control Strategies
In the current scenario, because of government policies, environmental factors, and technological improvements, there is a rapid growth in renewable energy sector. The emphasis is to obtain better system performance by effective resource utilization and providing security and reliability. This paper discusses the design and implementation of indirect grid control of a wind power plant by controlling the parameters in both grid and rotor side converters. The proposed system consists of Doubly Excited Induction Generator (DEIG) with Wind turbine system (WTS) and Mechanical and Electrical Power Controlling Systems (MPCS-EPCS). Various transmission line faults (symmetrical and asymmetrical faults) incur power imbalances in power grid. The developed MPCS and EPCS are helpful to perform grid monitoring and controlling under different types of faulty conditions. The MPCS monitors the effective source utilization and EPCS helpful for matching the grid energy levels under normal and faulty conditions. Modification in the converter topologies to minimize the impact of adverse effects of faults on the DEIG-WTS and to improve resiliency in the power grid is also discussed. To improve the stability and enhancing resource utilization to improve the efficiency of the overall system with the enhancement of fault voltage ride-through capability in DEIG-WTS under fault conditions are also considered. The stability of the system is tested under steady-state and dynamic-state conditions by applying faulty conditions in MATLAB/Simulink environment. 2023 IETE. -
Sensitivity Analysis of Operational Parameters of a High Temperature-Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell
The lack of widespread commercialization of High-Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) is primarily due to their poor performance and durability. Various factors impact the performance of fuel cells, one such crucial factor being the operational parameters. Suitable operating conditions not only enhance the output cell performance but also extend a fuel cell's life. Current research on the impact of operational factors on HT-PEMFC performance is largely qualitative in nature, with no quantitative indication of affecting the sensitivity of these parameters. In the present work, a three-dimensional, non-isothermal HT-PEMFC model developed earlier is used to investigate the influential sensitivities of five crucial operating parameters, each with four different levels, and is analyzed quantitatively using six evaluation indexes. The orthogonal/Taguchi method L16(45) is implemented to investigate the impact of operating parameters quantitatively. Further, the effect of each operating parameter on evaluation indexes under different operational current density regimes is investigated. The findings show that, of the parameters chosen, the working temperature and cathode pressure are the most sensitive to cell voltage and cathode overpotential distribution under all operating current density regimes. The findings would provide more precise recommendations for experimental research targeted at improving cell performance by optimizing operational parameters. 2023 The Electrochemical Society ("ECS"). Infusing Circular Reporting Model and Creative Marketing Mix for a Progressive Orange Economy: A Study with reference to Creative Business Units in Karnataka, India in the Post Covid-19 Pandemic
The orange economy which is also known as the creative economy has been an unrecognized industry though it has been a major contributor to economic growth and development. In this research an introspection has been done on four major economic factors such as: Choice of creativity with available resources, Marketing the good with unique strategies, Supply chain of good and services and tackling the demand fluctuations. These four factors rule the creative economy and hence the interlink between all these factors and its impact on the success of orange economy has been discussed in this research. The data has been collected from 30 small-owned creative business units which are spread across Karnataka. An interview schedule has been conducted with the creative business owners to understand the creative business units and its functionality. The structured interview has three layers which include (layer 1: questions related to creative business, layer 2: impact of Covid-19 pandemic on creative business units and layer 3: questions related to marketing, promotion and sales strategies used by creative business units. All the collected data has been exposed to a manual qualitative content coding to find new variables, new themes, cause, and effect and to construct a new conceptual model. The model has been suggested to the creative business units for active consideration and implementation. If the creative business units make use of the suggested marketing mix and strategies, they will be able to sustain themselves in the post-Covid-19 pandemic. The Author(s) 2023. -
On m-quasi Einstein almost Kenmotsu manifolds
In this article, we consider m-quasi Einstein structures on two class of almost Kenmotsu manifolds. Firstly, we study a closed m-quasi Einstein metric on a Kenmotsu manifold. Next, we proved that if a Kenmotsu manifold M admits an m-quasi Einstein metric with conformal vector field V, then M is Einstein. Finally, we prove that a non-Kenmotsu almost Kenmotsu (?,?)' -manifold admitting a closed m-quasi Einstein metric is locally isometric to the Riemannian product Hn+1Rn, provided that ?-?(2n+m)/2m = 1. 2021 Universita degli Studi di Parma. Real hypersurfaces of complex space forms satisfying FischerMarsden equation
Let M be a real hypersurface of a complex space form of constant curvature c. In this paper, we study the hypersurface M which admits a nontrivial solution to FischerMarsden equation, that is, the induce metric g of M satisfies Hessg(?) = (?g?) g+ ?Sg, where ? is a nontrivial function. We prove that there does not exist a complete Hopf real hypersurface in a non-flat complex space form satisfying FischerMarsden equation. Second Order Parallel Tensor on Almost Kenmotsu Manifolds

We prove that any second order parallel tensor on M is a constant multiple of the associated metric tensor and obtained some consequences of this. Base mediated spirocyclization of quinazoline: One-step synthesis of spiro-isoindolinone dihydroquinazolinones
A novel approach for the spiro-isoindolinone dihydroquinazolinones has been demonstrated from 2-aminobenzamide and 2-cyanomethyl benzoate in the presence of KHMDS as a base to get moderate yields. The reaction has been screened in various bases followed by solvents and a gram scale reaction has also been executed under the given conditions. Based on the controlled experiments a plausible reaction mechanism has been proposed. Further the substrate scope of this reaction has also been studied. Efficiency evaluation of total manufacturing sectors of India DEA approach
Efficiency, Productivity and Competitiveness are some of the performance indicators of any manufacturing firm. In Indian soil manufacturing industry plays predominant role in the countrys economy. Industrialization of manufacturing sectors generates employment, income and promotes GNP. To institute suitable policy measures it is desirable to divide the total manufacturing sectors of Indian states into efficient and inefficient. This study treats the total manufacturing sectors of a state as a decision making unit. 14 states account for more than 80% of total value added. An efficient low complexity compression based optimal homomorphic encryption for secure fiber optic communication
Latest advancements in fiber optic communication have gained significant attention among researchers owing to many benefits such as high data rate, acceptable cost, bandwidth, low attenuation, etc. Fiber optic networks are found to be a commonly utilized platform to transfer data in several applications such as personal, commercial, military areas, etc. Although fiber optic networks are highly beneficial, security remains a challenging design issue. Numerous state of art works has been developed to achieve security in fiber optic communication. Among the various methods, compression then encryption is an effective way to effectively and securely transmit the data. With this motivation, this paper presents a new Low Complexity Compression Then Encryption using Optimal Homomorphic Encryption (LCCE-OHE) technique for secured fiber optic communication. The proposed LCCE-OHE technique operates on two major phases namely compression and encryption. At the first stage, low complexity compression using Neighboring Indexing Sequence (NIS) with Deflate algorithm, named Normalized Information Distance (NID) is used. Besides, in the second stage, Quasi Oppositional Sail Fish Optimizer with Homomorphic Encryption (QOSFO-HE) technique is employed. The QOSFO algorithm is derived by incorporating the quasi oppositional learning (QOBL) concept to the SFO algorithm and is applied to optimally select the encryption keys. The performance validation of the proposed model takes place on two benchmark datasets and the experimental results are examined interms of different performance measures. The experimental values highlighted the improved compression efficiency and security level of the LCCE-OHE technique over the other techniques. 2022 Elsevier GmbH -
Appraisal of prolyl 4-hydroxylase alpha subunit gene polymorphisms in Spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia of Handigodu type (SEMDHG)
Background: The Handigodu variant of Spondyloepimetaphyseal Dysplasia (SEMDHG) is a severe, progressive osteoarthritic disorder characterized by chronic pain and joint degeneration. Clinically, the disorder presents in three distinct phenotypic forms, each exhibiting varying degrees of stature reduction and disease severity. Urine analysis of affected individuals reveals an elevated peptide-bound proline to 4-hydroxyproline ratio relative to controls, suggesting disruptions in collagen metabolism. Given the critical role of prolyl 4-hydroxylase enzymes in stabilizing collagen structure, this study undertook a comprehensive sequence analysis of all three isoforms of prolyl 4-hydroxylase in both affected and unaffected individuals to elucidate potential molecular underpinnings of the disorder. Method: The entire exonic regions and 2000 base pairs upstream of the translation start sites of the P4HA1, P4HA2, and P4HA3 genes were sequenced in a cohort of 300 individuals, comprising 166 affected and 134 unaffected individuals. Results: Sequence analysis of the ? (I), ? (II), and ? (III) subunit genes identified three novel SNPs and a 39-bp deletion variant, in addition to ten previously reported SNPs catalogued in dbSNP. The SNP rs28384495 in P4HA1, the 39-bp deletion variant, and a novel mutation (SNP3) in P4HA3 exhibited significantly different allele frequencies between patients and controls. Genotype association analysis revealed that SNPs in P4HA1 and P4HA3 were associated with Type 2 and Type 3 HD under various genetic models. Notably, all Type 2 HD patients were heterozygous for the 39-bp deletion, whereas all Type 3 HD patients were homozygous for the variant. Haplotype analysis corroborated the findings of the genotype association analysis. Conclusion: This study is the first to account an association between the P4H gene and disease. Further research is needed to evaluate the functional implications of the identified mutations. 2024 -
European VLBI Network observations of the peculiar radio source 4C 35.06 overlapping with a compact group of nine galaxies
Context. According to the hierarchical structure formation model, brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) evolve into the most luminous and massive galaxies in the Universe through multiple merger events. The peculiar radio source 4C 35.06 is located at the core of the galaxy cluster Abell 407, overlapping with a compact group of nine galaxies. Low-frequency radio observations have revealed a helical, steep-spectrum, kiloparsec-scale jet structure and inner lobes with less steep spectra, compatible with a recurring active galactic nucleus (AGN) activity scenario. However, the host galaxy of the AGN responsible for the detected radio emission remained unclear. Aims. We aim to identify the host of 4C 35.06 by studying the object at high angular resolution and thereby confirm the recurrent AGN activity scenario. Methods. To reveal the host of the radio source, we carried out very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations with the European VLBI Network of the nine galaxies in the group at 1.7 and 4.9 GHz. Results. We detected compact radio emission from an AGN located between the two inner lobes at both observing frequencies. In addition, we detected another galaxy at 1.7 GHz, whose position appears more consistent with the principal jet axis and is located closer to the low-frequency radio peak of 4C 35.06. The presence of another radio-loud AGN in the nonet sheds new light on the BCG formation and provides an alternative scenario in which not just one but two AGNs are responsible for the complex large-scale radio structure. A phenomenological exploration of Indian women's body image within intersecting identities in a globalizing nation
The goal of the study was to examine Indian women's body image experiences utilizing an intersectional framework. Using phenomenological method, the study attempted to explore how experiences of gender oppression intersect with salient social identities to produce experiences of body dissatisfaction in Indian women. Thirty-Five Indian women in the age group 1840 years participated in semi-structured interviews. Overall, women experienced and discussed their bodies in terms of physical features they liked and disliked. Three themes emerged that comprised body image experiences of Indian women- (a) Beautiful, thin and fair- three social imperatives for women, (b) Internalization and (c) Body image management. Each of these impacted women negatively and contributed to greater body monitoring, increased indulgence in unhealthy behaviours and heightened body dissatisfaction. Women also discussed coping techniques for managing such experiences. Researchers and practitioners are encouraged to take into account culturally constructed beauty norms and unique socio-cultural factors for Indian women that determine body image. Findings are interpreted in the context of evolving socio-cultural norms that have recolonised Indian women's embodiment in a globalizing nation. 2023 Elsevier Ltd
