Synthesis of nano-crystalline tin dioxide and its effect on calcination
Nitrate-citrate gel-combustion method was used in this study to prepare nano-crystalline tin dioxide. The samples were calcined at a temperature range of 543-1173 K. The prepared powder was characterized by SEM, TEM and X-ray diffraction. On increasing the temperature with limited supply of air (calcination), there is a systematic increase in tin content accompanied by a reduction in oxygen. The tetragonal nano tin structure formed during the process has about 20 nm in lateral size. With increase in calcination temperature, the carbon content systematically decreased. 2017, Chemical Publishing Co. All rights reserved. -
Compendium of Qubit Technologies inQuantum Computing
Quantum computing is information processing based on the principles of quantum mechanics. Qubits are at the core of quantum computing. A qubit is a quantum state where information can be encoded, processed, and readout. Any particle, sub-particle, or quasi-particle having a quantum phenomenon is a possible qubit candidate. Ascendancy in algorithms and coding demands knowledge of the specificities of the inherent hardware. This paper envisages qubits from an information processing perspective and analyses core qubit technologies. 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. -
Pendant number of graphs
A decomposition of a graph G is a collection of its edge disjoint sub-graphs such that their union is G. A path decomposition of a graph is a decomposition of it into paths. In this paper, we define the pendant number ?p as the minimum number of end vertices of paths in a path decomposition of G and determine this parameter for certain fundamental graph classes. 2018 Academic Publications. -
Date Palm: Genomic Designing for Improved Nutritional Quality
Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is one of the oldest fruit trees known where a significant amount of breeding has been carried out to improve various agronomic and nutritional characteristics. Numerous studies have been done to improve the nutritional composition and quality of the fruit due to its significant biological properties. Various strategies have been formulated for improving the agronomic characters through biofortification as well as preserving through postharvesting techniques. Modern breeding practices using molecular markers have significantly helped to identify the phenotypic, as well as genotypic, diversity for the selection of superior date palm cultivars, advanced agronomic characters like nutritional quality, disease resistance, and yield. Availability of the whole genome sequence, organellar sequence, and genetic map of date palm has helped breeders in modification and improvement of the characteristics. With the availability of bioinformatic tools and gene editing knowledge, the nutritional composition of date palm can be effectively manipulated to develop better crops along with good agronomic characters and resistance to diseases. The authors have compiled the nutritional composition of date palm fruits and detail the strategies to edit the genome and improve nutritional quality. Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2023. -

Rethinking Fate or Maktub in Paulo Coelhos The Alchemist through Taoism
Brazilian author Paulo Coelhos The Alchemist is believed to be a work that inspires readers to reflect upon their dreams and pursue them. While it is a matter of discussion as to what makes the novel so, one of the apparent reasons is the compelling presence of philosophical ideas like Taoism. However, the presence of Taoismthe idea of going with the universes flow - contradicts Coelhos use of the idea of fate or Maktub present in the same work. While Maktub stands for a pre-determined destiny, this research paper closely analyses how Taoist principles in The Alchemist contradict the authors use of the concept of fate or destiny through the actions and dialogues of notable characters. 2023 The Author(s). Relevance of Symbols in Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist
Brazilian author, Paulo Coelho is known for his tales that inspire readers to overcome conflicts and move toward the 'ultimate truth'. The popularity of such inspirational writings (both fictional and non-fictional) in the new age has given rise to a new literature style. Coelho's fiction, though inspirational, describes journeys that are physical and psychological at the same time. Symbols guide him in his journeys, forming a significant part of the novels. While these novels are said to appear inspirational for depressed souls with a profound philosophical and spiritual dilemma, the study of symbols found in these novels appears significant. This research aims to read closely the novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and evaluate the symbols in it. The research shall attribute the commonly accepted meanings to the symbols and assess the impact of such 'accepted' meanings on the same novel through Peirce's model of semiotic analysis. 2022 Aesthetics Media Services. Multi-variate LSTM with attention mechanism for the Indian stock market
The advent of attention mechanism has surpassed numerous benchmarks and enabled widespread progress in the realm of natural language processing (NLP). Nevertheless, they have not been adequately leveraged in a time-series context. Accordingly, this paper aims to address this issue by proposing a hybrid, deep-learning model that integrates attention mechanisms and multi-variate long short-term memory (LSTM) for financial forecasting in the Indian stock market. Our model yields superior results as compared to baseline and state-of-the-art models evaluated using MAE and RMSE. Moreover, we employed a modern evaluation criterion based on the methodology advocated by DieboldMariano, known as the DieboldMariano test (DM test), as a new criterion for evaluation based on statistical hypothesis tests. DM test has been applied in this study to distinguish the significant differences in forecasting accuracy between LSTM with attention and other models. From the results and according to DM-test it is observed that the differences between the forecasting performances of models are significant and that attention mechanism could enhance the accuracy in predicting stock prices by allowing the model to prioritize and concentrate on the most important features and patterns in the data while avoiding overfitting and noise. 2025 The Author(s) -
Entropy diagnostics for cryptographic key material from random circuit sampling
Random Circuit Sampling (RCS) has emerged as a leading paradigm for demonstrating quantum advantage. Beyond computational complexity, RCS provides a high-dimensional, chaotic probability distribution whose structure is characteristic of random unitary dynamics; here, we study its entropy properties in an ideal statevector baseline intended for later hardware validation. In this work, we present a reproducible validation framework for certifying cryptographic keys using a 12-qubit RCS ensemble (N = 4096 states ) within an ideal quantum simulation framework. Unlike standard Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs), which often rely on single-qubit optics, our protocol utilises multi-qubit entanglement to ensure nonlocality. We quantify the security of the system using a dual-metric approach: basis-dependent Min-Entropy (H? ? 9.05 bits ) for cryptographic extractability, and basis-independent Subsystem Von Neumann Entropy (S ? 3.96 bits) for quantum certification. We further demonstrate a privacy-amplification pipeline that uses a frequency-preserving, endian-corrected SHA-3 extraction to produce a 256-bit secure key (candidate key material). This study provides a transparent methodological bridge between the theoretical Quantum Supremacy regime and practical cryptographic key generation. 2026, Taru Publications. All rights reserved. -
Sensor-Integrated Smart Pump forDeep Vein Thrombosis Prevention
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is the formation of blood clots in the lower limb because of prolonged immobility. Such critical medical conditions can be avoided by regularly using compression cuffs on the limbs; however, traditional compression devices lack adaptability, cause patient discomfort, and have inconsistent pressure application. This study presents a smart wearable and portable compression system integrated with sensors to receive real-time feedback. A DC motor, controlled by an H-bridge converter, inflates the systems inflatable sleeves. The DC motor speed controls the pumping pressure, and a solenoid valve controls the inflation rate. Pressure, temperature, and moisture sensors are embedded in the inner part of the cuff to monitor the physiological parameters. An Arduino-based control system was used to control the inflation rate, air pressure, and duration of compression, optimally ensuring patient comfort. The designed pump was tested and shown adaptability when the sensor data changes. An AI-based control framework is also proposed in this work to enhance the performance and to make the pump autonomous and user-friendly. The response of the proposed AI-based control was validated through simulations of the model developed from fundamentals. The simulation results suggest that the AI-based DVT pump is more adaptable to the physiological parameter variations, even when the parameters change rapidly. The AI-driven model provides faster and more precise control of inflation and deflation patterns, preventing overheating, over-compression, and sweating. This study highlights the feasibility of a smart, wearable DVT pump that can adapt to the compression requirements while ensuring safety and comfort. Relationship between psychological contract and organisational commitment: an empirical investigation on airline cabin crew
The study explores the link between organisational commitment (OCO) and psychological contract (PCO) among airline cabin crews. The study also investigates the moderation effect of the type of organisation and work experience in the relationship between PCO and OCO. A theoretical model with hypothesised relationship is developed and tested empirically using structural equation modelling with the data generated by means of a questionnaire survey conducted among the airline cabin crew. The study finds that: 1) There is a direct connection between PCO and OCO in the case of both employee PCO and employer PCO; 2) type of the organisation moderates the relation between: a) employers PCO and employees PCO; b) employers PCO and OCO. We also found that the relationship between the PCO and OCO is moderated by the organisation type in the case of cabin crew working for private airlines but not for government-owned airlines. Since a favourable PCO is favourably correlated with OCO, the studys findings would assist airline operators in identifying the critical PCO dimensions that influence their OCO and helping them implement appropriate steps to increase their commitment to their staff. Surface Effects Study: A Continuum Approach from Fundamental Modes to Higher Modes and Topological Polarization in Orthotropic Piezoelectric Materials
The primary goal of the current work is to investigate how wave propagation influences the performance of surface acoustics wave (SAW) macro-and nano-sensors. Therefore, shear horizontal (SH) waves use the surface piezoelectricity theory to explore SH waves in an orthotropic piezoelectric quasicrystal (PQC) layer overlying an elastic framework (Model I), a piezoelectric substrate, and an orthotropic PQC substrate (model II). This study employs a variable-separable technique. The theoretical forms are constructed and used to present the wavenumber of surface waves in any direction of the piezoelectric medium, based on the differential equations and matrix formulation. In addition, we take into account the surface elasticity theory in order to obtain the phase velocity equation. Two configurations are examined: An orthotropic piezoelectric material layer over an elastic framework and a piezoelectric material half-space with a nanosubstrate. Analytical expressions for frequency equations are derived for both symmetric and antisymmetric waves. This study investigates the effects of surface elastic constants, surface density, anisotropic piezoelectric constant, and symmetric and antisymmetric modes on phase velocity. This study is confined to only linear wave propagation. Additionally, the analysis is based on idealized material properties, surface properties, and characteristic length of the material.
