Role of E-Shopping Orientation and Trust in predicting Impulsive Buying Behaviour. A Study Based on members of Generation Y in India; [El papel de la orientaci y la confianza en las compras electricas en la predicci del comportamiento de compra impulsiva. Un estudio basado en miembros de la Generaci Y en la India]
Impulse Buying and the drivers of similar consumer behaviours have captured the interest of researchers for quite some time now. The construct was first explored in the context of offline or brick and mortar stores. However, with the growing popularity of online retail stores has led to the concept being included in studies on customer behaviour, specifically in the online context. In the current study, the researchers attempt to contribute to literature on customer behaviour in the online environment by exploring the relationship between E-Shopping Orientation, Trust and Impulsive Buying Behaviour. The focus of the currents study is the members of Generation Y. The scope was limited to this specific section, given that each generation differs from the other in terms of their behaviour, needs and drivers. While the direct impact of E-shopping Orientation on Impulsive Buying Behaviour was found to be not statistically significant, the indirect effect was found to be significant. This suggests that Trust fully mediates the relationship between E-Shopping Orientation and Impulsive Buying Behaviour. In addition to contributing to literature in the area of customer behaviour, the findings also add to our understanding of a major section of the Indian customer base. Role of energy sources in promotion of sustainable development: moderating implications of globalisation
This study empirically investigates the impact of renewable and non-renewable energy generation on sustainable development for a balancedpanel of 68 developed and developing economies from 1990 to 2019. This is done to scrutinise the intricate interplay between energy sources and sustainable development outcomes at the global level. The estimated models also control for the effects of globalisation, urbanisation, and government expenditure. The Westerlund cointegration establishes a significant long-run relationship between the variables under consideration. In this regard, the two-step dynamic system-generalised moment method (system GMM) demonstrates a positive impact of renewable energy, globalisation, and government expenditure on sustainable development. In contrast, non-renewable energy and urbanisation exert detrimental influences on it. However, both the energy sources demonstrate an amplified positive impact on sustainable development under the moderating influence of globalisation. The Feasible Generalised Least Squares estimation also confirms the long-run reliability of these baseline findings. Furthermore, Granger based non-causality test establishes a significant causal relationship between the variables under consideration. Potential policy suggestions for promoting the sustainable development are also discussed. The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. 2024. -

Role of Filters in Speckle Reduction in Medical Ultrasound Images- A Comparative Study
To diagnose and predict complex disorders in human body, various Medical Imaging Techniques are used. Widely accepted technique among them is the Ultrasound imaging modality, because of its low cost and noninvasive nature. But the images produced by ultrasound scanning are of low quality and amenable to faster degradation due to the presence of speckle noise. This led to various studies for effectively removing speckle noise from ultrasound images. In this paper, an endeavor is made for a comparative analysis of chosen set of post filtering methods for Speckle reduction, VIZ Anisotropic Diffusion, Wavelet, Adaptive Median Filter, Hybrid Algorithm, Modified Fourier Transform and Sparse Code Shrinkage using ICA. The different methods are tested on a collection of ultrasound images and their performance evaluated with the Normalized Cross Correlation metric (NCC), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Content (SC), Universal Quality Index (UQI), Edge Preservation Index (EPI) and Structural Similarity Index (SSI). Further relative execution time of different approaches are also analyzed. On analysis of the values of different metrics and execution time, Wavelet Based Hybrid Thresholding is found to outperform the other filters considered. 2019 IEEE. -

Role of Globalization and Innovation Pattern in Growth of Bank Credit: Evidence From Emerging and Advanced Asia
This study examines the role of globalization and innovation pattern (i.e., innovation by the residents and non-residents) in the growth of domestic bank credit across emerging and advanced Asian economies spanning from 1996 to 2022. The bank credit growth model includes economic growth and real interest rate as important control variables. This study employs Cross Sectional-Autoregressive Distributed Lag (CS-ARDL) as an appropriate baseline method because of the cointegration, endogeneity, and cross-sectional dependency present in the data. The long-run results for emerging Asian economies indicate that globalization exhibits a negative impact on banking credit, contrasting with the positive influence observed in advanced Asian economies due to heightened economic growth and increased credit demand. Residential innovation consistently bolsters banking credit in both sets of economies, albeit with mixed effects stemming from non-resident innovation. The long-run results further indicate the positive (negative) impact of economic growth (real interest rate) on bank credit in emerging and advanced Asian economies. These findings are reliable due to the similar results obtained from using Driscoll-Kraay Robust Standard Errors (DKSEs) as robust method. For policymakers in emerging economies, the imperative policy lies in striking a delicate balance between economic openness and bank credit, while counterparts in advanced economies are poised to bolster bank credit accessibility through foreign innovation while upholding stringent regulatory oversight. 2024 John Wiley & Sons Ltd. -

Role of ICT in harnessing poverty reduction: An empirical study using an ARDL approach
The catalytic role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in poverty reduction has been examined in this chapter, in line with the United Nation's first Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-1). This study focuses on the impact of ICT variables such as individuals using the internet, population covered by a mobile-cellular network, mobile-cellular telephone subscriptions, and international bandwidth usage, on poverty alleviation using relevant data covering countries worldwide from 2010 to 2022. Employing the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method, the study examines both short-run dynamics and long-run effects of ICT interventions towards achieving SDG-1. Results reveal a stronger relationship between internet usage and poverty reduction, alongside a counterintuitive finding showing a negative coefficient for international bandwidth usage. The findings of the study emphasize the pivotal role of internet usage and international bandwidth usage in poverty mitigation. Further, as evidenced by data findings, any immediate changes in the ICT indicators such as international bandwidth usage, population covered by a mobile network, mobile telephone subscriptions may not affect the poverty levels in the short term. The results of the study posit the policymakers to acknowledge the impact of internet usage in alleviating poverty among the world countries. The study reckons that improvement of internet infrastructure and enhancement of digital literacy initiatives via increased internet usage has the potential to harness poverty reduction. 2025 A. Role of incorporated transition metal on surface properties and catalytic activity of mesoporous vanadium aluminophosphates in the synthesis of tetrahydroquinolin-5-(1H)-ones
Aluminophosphate incorporated with transition metals (Co, Cu, Fe, V) were synthesized by co-precipitation method. The synthesized materials were characterized by different techniques (pXRD, FT-IR, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD) to understand the structural and textural properties. The incorporation of transition metal into aluminophosphate plays an important role in designing the surface properties like pore size, surface area, and surface acidity. The materials were studied as a catalyst for the synthesis of tetrahydroquinolin-5-(1H)-ones by a one-pot cyclocondensation reaction of dimedone, substituted benzaldehydes, 4-fluoro/4-nitro phenyl acetonitrile, and ammonium acetate in ethanol at 25 C. The structures of the compounds were identified and confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and ESI-MS spectral data. The mesoporous nature of vanadium aluminophosphate (VAlP) along with a uniform pore size distribution, high surface acidity, surface area attributes to its high catalytic activity when compared to pure aluminophosphates. 2020 -
Role of Individualistic and Collectivistic Orientations in the Happy Life of Kharwar Adivasi Community
Following globalization, westernized cultural values, ideas, and practices have rapidly spread. Cultures are in flux, and indigenous communities are not free from the influence of the outside world. In this research, we investigated how the psychological tendencies of indigenous communities might be affected by such socio-cultural changes in a predominantly collectivist nation. A community-based study was conducted with 150 Kharwar Adivasi individuals residing in 10 villages of Naugarh block, Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. The participants, aged 25-50 years, were given the measures of Individualism-Collectivism Orientations and Happy Life. Using an exploratory factor analysis, a five-factor structure emerged, explaining 57% of the variance in happy life. The results indicated that 59% of the sample had a collectivistic orientation. Individuals with a collectivistic orientation fared better in overall happiness and its sub-domains than individuals with an individualistic orientation. It is suggested that even though there is a gradual increase in individualism, for the Adivasi community, happiness is still enhanced by tendencies of interdependence. The findings have important implications for understanding the happiness of the under-researched Adivasi population. (2025), (School of Management Sciences). All rights reserved. -
