Transforming Food Waste Management with Blockchain: A Sustainable, Consensus Driven Framework
Food waste management is a stern issue that is prevalent around the word, affecting multiple countries and cultures. In a technology driven era, blockchain has gained intense attention because of its various beneficial facets. Blockchain is defined as a technology with its features like security, transparency and immutability, where only the authorized members in a network are given access. The decentralized technology enables transparency and traceability which can be used in food supply chain in conjunction with the various consensus mechanisms to validate transactions. This would ensure consistency and reliability, ensuring the stakeholders to track vivid stages such as food production, processing and distribution. Wastage of food is a cosmopolitan issue conducive to social, economic and environmental challenges. Our proposed work provides substantial benefits in a way to tackle inefficiencies in the food supply chain, Blockchain based business process reengineering can further automate these processes. The paper presents five popular consensus mechanisms that can be used for a sustainable food waste management. The work focuses on providing a blockchain based solution that is low powered and scalable, which in turn increases sustainability and reduces global food waste. Transforming invasive weeds into energy solutions: water hyacinth-based hybrid electrodes for green supercapacitors
The excessive proliferation of Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth) poses significant environmental challenges; however, its abundant biomass offers a sustainable solution for energy storage applications. This study presents an eco-friendly approach to fabricating high-performance supercapacitor electrodes using water hyacinth-derived activated carbon (WH), polypyrrole (PPy), and titanium dioxide (TiO2). The WH-TiO2/PPy hybrid electrode was synthesized via hydrothermal treatment and interfacial polymerization, ensuring a resource-efficient and environmentally responsible process. The composite exhibited a high gravimetric capacitance of 610 F g?1 at 0.5 A g?1 in 3 M KOH, with excellent cycling stability (94% retention after 5000 cycles). An asymmetric supercapacitor with WH-TiO2/PPy as the positive electrode and activated carbon as the negative electrode delivered an energy density of 98 W h kg?1 and a power density of 5606 W kg?1. This work highlights the potential of transforming invasive biomass into cost-effective, high-performance energy storage materials, advancing the principles of green chemistry through waste valorization and sustainable material design. 2025 The Royal Society of Chemistry. -
Transforming network security through zero trust architecture: Principles, challenges, and future directions
Given the continued expansion of cyber threats; such perimeter-based resistance traditional security strategies have proven to be inadequate. No one is trusted by default, either inside or outside the network, in a Zero Trust architecture. Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) is a modern security model that demands consistent authentication of users and devices and denies any presupposition of implicit trust. It should also be of strong authorization, network division, and authentication. This article covers the principles, components, pros, and cons along with zero trust implementation strategies and the impact on network security. 2026, Taru Publications. All rights reserved. -
Transforming online class recording into useful information repositories using NLP methods: An Empirical Study
Most educational institutions have adapted to the mode of online teaching which has resulted in an increase of online video recordings. Learner community can be benefited with the ability to retrieve required information from the online class recordings. In this paper, we propose a methodology for converting video transcript data into useful information repositories for the purpose of retrieving class transcripts relevant to user's information needs. We focus on the online video recording transcript data. We also discuss challenges in transcribing which are crucial to understand preliminary processing. Our dataset consists of transcripts from diverse subject domains deeper experimental insights. We use interactive transcripts obtained from ASR (automatic speech recognition) services and non-interactive human generated transcripts. State-of-the-art methods for keyword retrieval: Latent Dirichlet Topic Modelling (LDA), Term Frequency (TF.IDF) and Text Rank (graph based) are applied on the video transcript data. Further, cosine similarity metric is applied to obtain the similarity measure between the transcript documents and keywords. 2022 IEEE. -

Transforming remote work and tourism in the digital nomad era: Rural and low-density destinations-the new frontier for digital nomads
The ascent of remote work and the advanced wanderer way of life has significantly reshaped worldwide travel patterns, impacting how people associate with spaces and networks. Rustic and low-thickness objections, frequently disregarded in customary the travel industry and business centre points, are presently arising as strong competitors in the worldwide computerized economy. This change comes from mechanical headways, advancing cultural inclinations, and the rising adaptability of work structures. At the centre of this shift is improved advanced framework, which overcomes any barrier between metropolitan comforts and provincial serenity. The ascent of high velocity web, distributed computing, and cooperative advancements has enabled people to work consistently from far off areas. This openness, joined with the charm of regular excellence, moderateness, and a more slow speed of life, has made rustic locations something beyond holiday destinations as they have become feasible choices for long haul residency and expert pursuits. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. -
Transforming sectors: VR and AR applications in healthcare, education, and social roboticsA case study
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are transforming multiple fields, including healthcare, education, social robotics, and mental health. In medicine, they enhance surgical precision, medical training, rehabilitation, and remote consultations by providing immersive and real-time data-driven environments. Education benefits from interactive and skill-based learning, making complex subjects more engaging and accessible. In social robotics, AR/VR improves human-robot interactions, emotional intelligence in AI assistants, and robotic telepresence. Mental health applications include VR-based exposure therapy, stress management, and PTSD treatment through controlled, immersive simulations. Industrial training leverages VR for hazardous work simulations and AR for real-time assistance, increasing workplace safety and efficiency. In addition, AR supports precision medicine by overlaying real-time visuals during surgeries for improved accuracy. The integration of AI, haptic feedback, and 5G is expected to further advance these technologies. However, ethical concerns regarding data privacy and prolonged VR exposure require careful regulation. Overall, VR and AR continue to revolutionize various sectors, enhancing engagement, efficiency, and personalization in professional and therapeutic settings. 2026 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. -
Transforming Teacher Education: Leveraging Smart University Technologies to Foster Equity, Innovation, and Inclusive Learning
This chapter critically examines how emerging technologies are transforming teacher education within the evolving model of the Smart University, with a focus on aligning innovation with the universal values of educational equality and justice. Through a multidisciplinary lens, it explores how tools such as artificial intelligence, learning analytics, digital classrooms, and institutional digital infrastructures can be strategically adopted to modernize education and foster inclusive and human-centered learning environments. The Smart University is positioned as a space of both technological and ethical transformation, requiring a rethinking of pedagogical goals and responsibilities in teacher preparation. Central to this vision is the integration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework that anticipates learner diversity by offering flexible pathways for engagement, knowledge acquisition, and expression. When embedded in smart systems, UDL enables teacher education to move beyond standardized approaches, promoting accessibility, personalization, and learner agency. The chapter also addresses critical challenges associated with smart technologies, including digital inequities, data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the risk of depersonalized learning. It argues that technological progress without ethical grounding can exacerbate educational disparities rather than resolve them. To counter this, the chapter calls for a values-driven approach to technology integration-one that centres inclusion, justice, and equity. In doing so, it reimagines the Smart University as a high-tech institution and as a transformative environment that equips future educators to navigate diverse, digitally enriched, and socially responsible classrooms. 2026, IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
