Role of Symptomatic Management in Understanding Effects of Early Integration of Palliative Care among Nonmetastatic Lung Cancer Patients on Psychological Well-Being
Aim. The impact of early referral to palliative care on quality of life for patients with lung cancer has already been discussed. However, the benefits of early integration of palliative care service (EIPCS) combined with standard oncology care for nonmetastatic lung cancer patients remain unclear. Hence, we designed a study to assess the impact of EIPCS among nonmetastatic cancer patients in India. Methods. In this randomized controlled trial study, we divided the data from 115 patients with diagnosed nonmetastatic lung cancer between age group of >18 years to ?65 years. Following clinicopathological and radiology diagnosis, patients were referred to pain and palliative medicine department. Patients were randomly assigned by palliative physicians into two groups: Group A (N = 64), those who were receiving standard oncology care (chemotherapy or radiation or both) along with EIPCS, and Group B (N = 51), receiving standard oncology care. Patients were followed up every 3 weeks up to 3 months. Primary outcomes, symptoms' burden, and psychological well-being were measured by validated tools. To define the impact of EIPCS, appropriate statistics were calculated as the mean standard deviation of the score of validated tools. Statistical significance was defined at p<0.005. Results. From the beginning, we had taken 115 patients, and on 42 days' follow-up, the number of dropout patients for Group A was 3 (due to unable to contact), and for Group B, 9 (due to physical condition). This was followed by a reassessment after 126 days where dropout patients for Group A was 4 (due to unable to contact), and for Group B, 7 (due to physical condition). Following statistical report compliance at 126 days by WEMWBS was 21.16 3.65 in Group A versus 16.1 1.93 versus in Group B and by ESAS 51.84 0.01 in Group A versus 97.64 2.18 in Group B. Conclusion. The findings of this study showed that patients with nonmetastatic lung cancer who received standard oncology care combined with EIPCS had increased the psychological well-being and reduced symptoms burden. 2024 Arunima Datta et al. -
Role of supramolecular interactions in crystal packing of Strandberg-type cluster-based hybrid solids
Abstract: Two new Strandberg-type cluster-based phosphomolybdates {H-2a3mp}5[{PO3(OH)}{PO4}Mo5O15], 1 and {H-2a4mp}5[{PO3(OH)}{PO4}Mo5O15]6H2O, 2 have been crystallized via solvent evaporation technique using 2-amino-3-methylpyridine (2a3mp) and 2-amino-4-methylpyridine (2a4mp) respectively. The solids were characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The solid 1 crystallized in monoclinic system with space group P21/c, a = 8.394(1), b = 27.398(6), c = 21.521(4) ? = 97.68(3), Z = 4. The solid 2 crystallized in triclinic system with space group P-1, a = 11.728(1), b = 14.234(1), c = 19.589(1) ? = 68.906(3), ? = 89.454(3), ? = 66.559(3), Z = 2. The solids 1 and 2 formed a supramolecular framework stabilized by hydrogen bonding interaction between cluster anions and organic moieties. CH? interactions between the organic moieties reinforced the crystal packing in 1 and 2. While crystal packing effects resulted in the formation of solvent-accessible voids in 1; aggregation of lattice water molecules in 2 facilitated the formation of pentameric water cluster. In addition, electrochemical behavior of 1 and 2 has also been investigated. Graphic abstract: Two new Strandberg-type cluster based phosphomolybdates, 1 and 2 have been crystallized via solvent evaporation technique using 2-amino-3-methylpyridine and 2-amino-4-methylpyridine. Role of spiritual intelligence and occupational stress on organizational commitment: Evidence from outsourcing industry
As the world passes through uncertainty, researchers contemplate the future of work. While trying times highlight the importance of spiritual intelligence and commitment towards the organization, change brings with it large amounts of stress. Even before the pandemic, a large portion of the working population was moving towards the 'gig' style of working. The freedom of choice and the level of control that the option brought with it, made it a rather attractive option. However, for organizations the question remains on how to instil the same level of commitment in an employee who is not directly linked to the organization. In an attempt to understand the same, the current study looks at the drivers of organizational commitment for employees of the outsourcing industry. Similar to gig employees, these employees remain outside the organization they currently work for. Additionally, they are expected to balance the expectations of the parent and the host organization. The findings of the study suggest that the individual's spiritual intelligence levels and the level of perceived stress in the role would be significant in determining their levels of commitment. These findings are of significance for organizations dealing with outsourced employees and especially for those attempting to create alternate employment opportunities within their organization. 2019 by Advance Scientific Research. Role of Sm3+ and Ce4+ on mesoporous rice husk silica for selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde
Silica was prepared from rice huskagricultural wasteby soaking and pyrolysis method. Ceria and samaria were impregnated on silica by rotavapor-assisted impregnation method. The physicochemical properties of CeSm/Si catalyst were determined by BET, FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDX, and n-butylamine titration. Catalytic activity was evaluated by oxidation of benzyl alcohol (Bzl-OH) to benzaldehyde (B-CHO) using H2O2 as an oxidant in acetonitrile medium. Different reaction parameters like time, temperature, solvent, and catalyst amount on the reaction were also studied. Among the various catalysts, 50Ce50Sm/Si showed the impressive catalytic performance with a selectivity of 91.4% to benzaldehyde. The improved catalytic performance was attributed to the well dispersion of ceriasamaria on the surface of silica. These materials can be reused effectively up to four cycles without significant loss in their selectivity. Moreover, excellent selectivity of benzaldehyde in shorter duration using modified rice husk silica catalysts makes this protocol highly attractive and practically beneficial. Role of polyamines in plant tissue culture: An overview
Since the era of plant tissue culture bloomed, we have started approaching from a biotechnological perspective to overcome the massive challenges like inducing embryogenesis and organogenesis, initiating rooting, increasing the number of plantlets, establishing a callus from various organs of plants and also enhancing the metabolite content which was a mind-boggling thought once upon a time. Use of various elicitors, altering the media components, the strength of media, pH, precursor feeding etc. have all contributed tremendously in the in-vitro techniques used for culturing rare, endemic and medicinal plants for the commercial purposes. Owing to the demand for the plant products and drugs, the search for the other superior novel methods to increase its quantity and quality has not been stopped. Thus, one such method is the use of chemical compounds with many amino groups which serves as an additional source of nitrogen in the media and these organic compounds are called polyamines. Polyamines are known to play a wide role in plant physiological processes helping them in differentiation, inducing totipotency, increasing cell division and also in molecular signaling. Polyamines have a versatile application in this field ranging from establishing a callus to the elicitation of secondary metabolites. Thus, polyamines can be considered as a boon to the plant tissue culture field. In this review article, we have mainly focused on the in-depth applications of major polyamines like putrescine, spermidine and spermine in the field of plant tissue culture. 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. part of Springer Nature. -
Role of plant tissue culture medium components
The plant tissue culture technique is one of the most acquainted techniques and has been practiced since 1902 for the development of disease-free plants with desired quality, at a larger production rate within a short span of time, irrespective of the season. Each plant has its own morphology and nutritional requirements. Moreover, the nutritional requirement for the tissues in each part of the plant varies. Thus, for the optimal growth of the desired plant, the composition and choice of the suitable media are crucial factors. The formulation of the nutrient medium for the specific tissue and the specific plant plays a vital role in the development of suitable plant tissue culture techniques. This chapter discusses the main components of the plant tissue culture media: basic components which include macroelements, microelements, nitrogen sources (including amino acids), carbon sources, organic supplements (mainly vitamins and other supplements), growth regulators like auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, abscisic acid, ethylene, and solidifying agents. The basic components have to be incorporated at a fixed concentration. The plant growth regulators are supplemented for organogenesis and the balance between the growth regulators depends on the type of tissue culture technique adopted. The additional supplements are incorporated into the media to achieve specific responses which include activated charcoal, antioxidants, ethylene inhibitors, and complex organic additives, and antibiotics/antifungal agents are supplemented to prevent plant loss due to contamination. The chapter also emphasizes the sterilization techniques and their importance in the plant tissue culture medium. The significance of the adoption of automated media preparation and incorporation of nanoparticles in the tissue culture media is also discussed. 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. -

Role of online visual merchandising and personality attributes on purchase intention of customers in the apparel industry
The visual merchandising sector on the online platform has considerably impacted the sales as online visual merchandising (OVM) strategies have become a relatively new concept. The tremendous growth of electronic retailing has led to the adoption of new visual merchandising concepts which are digital. A web space which is visible and aesthetically not appealing distracts the customers across all the generations, which makes them switch to other websites. Online retailing is a competitive and dynamic area, which is created based on the artificial brick and motor concept. This artificial brick and motor concept has to be created on an online shopping platform in terms of attracting the end consumers. Moreover, to do this there needs to be a trigger, or in other words a stimulus which causes an action which leads to a response (reaction). Based on the past theories by psychologists the stimulus and response is not the only factor that serves as a basis for decision making, there is a third essential and integral dimension, organism. Organism simply means a system consisting of interdependent parts which are interlinked. Therefore, personality attributes considered the organism is said to be vital in attracting prospective customers. Current research aims at analysing such prospects on an equal sample size of 400 newlineeach from generation X, Y, Z who have engaged in the online purchase of apparel. Responses newlinewere obtained equally from male and female respondents based on a web survey. Structural newlineequation modelling (SEM) was used for analyses of data. The study proposes a research framework of Stimulus-Organism-Response(SOR) model. Results of the study suggest different personality characteristics of generations considered as organisms mediate the relationship between online visual merchandising cues and play a vital role in purchase intention. Therefore, it is imperative to distinguish between ages and generations to cater to the needs of generation X, Y and Z segmented as customers. -

Role of mixed nanofluids on fluid flow and intensify energy transfer in a boundary layer region driven by a free convective force
This research study explores boundary layer flow and intensification of heat transfer through a porous medium accompanied by buoyant forces with the support of appended mixed nanofluids. The generated partial differentiation model is altered to a couple of the highly complicated nonlinear differentiation model by support of the similarity conversion. The resultant model is then resolved by the shooting method for finding the initial approximation and thereafter the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg 45th-order method is used to get the desired result. The energy transfer and the flow of mixed nanofluids are analyzed by considering vital factors, like convection, porous and volume fraction. The acquired results fairly agree with erstwhile published articles. The major finding is that for greater values of the volume fraction, both fluid flow and energy transfer of a mixed nanofluid will be greater when compared with a regular nanofluid. 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
