A Search for a grounding source in interpersonal relationships through metaxology in the select novels of Bernard Malamud
This research examines interpersonal relationships in the select novels of Bernard Malamud from a metaxological perspective. By examining the formation of the community through individuals where there are agapeic service and transformation of individuals, it attempts to bring out the relevance of metaxological relationships that give importance to dialogue, ethical relationships and love. It is essential to understand the space between interpersonal relationships to lead a meaningful life in the contemporary world. It explores to ascertain whether human beings attain fulfilment in the community through transformation. This thesis addresses the issues that are relevant to the novelist in the context of Jewish identity and assumes that this study is essential since the study informs us about the interpersonal relationships which are very relevant in today’s context. This study claims that the interpersonal relationships portrayed in the novels of Malamud are metaxological because it affirms the self and transcends towards the other and forms a community where there is agapeic love and service. This research claims that interpersonal relationships attain its fulfilment through metaxological relationships. This mode of interpersonal relationships is relevant since it enables us to understand many existing problems between people, culture and nations, and to find a solution to it. The question of how to maintain a proper relationship with other human beings by giving equal importance to the individuals who are involved in the relationship is prominent today. The analysis of the novels based on metaxology changes our existing understanding of the interpersonal relationships and gives a new dimension to it.

Growth and physical properties of sb2 te3 and related thermoelectric materials
Research on crystal growth and characterization is inevitable to meet the requirements of the technological world, as there is a great demand for good quality samples free from flaws for application in newlinevarious fields which cannot be met by natural resources. The synthesis of newlinebulk crystals of Sb2Te3 compounds has intrigued the attention of the researchers in the present work, due to their diverse properties which provide boundless scope to develop innovative approaches towards the newlinedevelopment of devices with improved thermoelectric (TE) efficiency. The green technology of conversion of waste heat to electric current by the TE phenomena offers a noise-free alternative with low mechanical newlineand conduction losses for small scale refrigeration and power generation modules. Though, thermoelectric devices offer better reliability and durability, one of the major challenges is to develop a material system newlinewith high figure of merit (ZT) in the variable temperature ranges. From the research reports it is evident that, generally for scientific studies, conventional melt methods were used to grow bulk Sb2Te3 crystals, where nonstoichiometry, polycrystallinity and multi-phase formation raise problems. Furthermore, large fluctuations in TE properties have been exhibited by single crystals synthesized from the melt, which preclude their uses in devices. The ability to control as well as engineer various newlineproperties of Sb2Te3 depends on the choice of growth method, experimental tools and processes. Even though substantial work has been published on the studies of cleaved samples of crystals grown from the melt, the growth mechanism and TE investigations on vapor deposited platelet structures of Sb2Te3-xSx and Sb2-xInxTe3 have not been investigated so far. With the prime focus on vapor deposition as an alternative to melt methods to produce defect free, good quality stoichiometric and mechanically stable crystals with improved ZT, the research was aimed at growth and characterization of Sb2Te3 and related newlinethermoelectric materials. -
Farm bills in the parliament: impact of farmers protest and the democratisation of legislative process in India
This research article analyses the impact of the farmers agitation on the legislative process in India. The Indian farmers protest against the 2020 Indian Agriculture Reform Acts, dubbed as Kala Kanoon (black laws), not only voiced dissatisfaction with the contents of the farm bills but also confronted the undemocratic legislative practices. We provide descriptive evidence by discussing five major dimensions of the impact of the protest and the outcome i.e. the repeal of the laws. First, the protest movement and the resultant repeal helped discern a valuable public policy lesson to abandon top-down policy-making. Second, the protest questioned the bureaucratic approach to legislation that excluded the primary stakeholder group from policy-making. Third, it revealed the diminished role of the legislature and the concentration of power in the executive. Fourth, it exposed vulnerabilities in the parliamentary system when the ruling party holds a brute majority. Fifth, the protest emphasized the importance of state autonomy and legislative accountability to hold the executive accountable. We conclude with the summation of the major arguments from the discussion by highlighting the implications of the farmers movement for Indias future legislative processes. 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. -
Spectroscopic analysis of lead borate systems
Oxide glass systems are interesting because of their bonding like bridging and non-bridging oxygens. Depending on the modifier, the B2O3 glass system can have various Boron-Oxygen network. It is found that, PbO modifies the borate network and increases the formation of penta and diborate groups. In this work, we investigated optical properties of Lead Borate glass systems (x PbO: (1-x) B2O3) with x varying from 30-85 mol % using UV-VIS Spectra and the corresponding band gap was estimated using Tauc relation and these systems behave like direct allowed band gap systems. These results show that, Eg decreases with the addition of lead content. Further the refractive index measurements also have been carried out at various wavelengths. Many correlation is found between the band gap and refractive index for different compositions. Using different theoretical models a best fit has been tried and Ravindra's relation is found to match with our experimental results. 2018 Author(s). -
Cross-language contributions of rapid automatized naming to reading accuracy and fluency in young adults: evidence from eight languages representing different writing systems
Rapid automatized naming (RAN) is a strong predictor of reading across languages. However, it remains unclear if the effects of RAN in first language (L1) transfer to reading in second language (L2) and if the results vary as a function of the orthographic proximity of L1L2. To fill this gap in the literature, we examined the role of RAN in reading accuracy and fluency in eight languages representing different writing systems. Seven hundred and thirty-five university students (85 Chinese-, 84 Japanese-, 100 Kannada-, 40 Oriya-, 115 English-, 115 Arabic-, 105 Portuguese-, and 91 Spanish-speaking) participated in our study. They were assessed on RAN (Digits and Objects) and reading (accuracy and fluency) in both L1 and L2 (English). Results of hierarchical regression analyses showed significant effects of L1 RAN on L2 reading accuracy in the Chinese-, Portuguese-, and Spanish-speaking groups. In addition, L2 RAN was a significant predictor of reading fluency in L1 in the same language groups. No cross-language transfer was observed in the other languages. These findings suggest first that L1 and L2 RAN capture similar processes and controlling for one does not leave unique variance for the other to explain. Second, to the extent there is cross-language transfer of RAN skills, this appears to be independent of the orthographic proximity of the languages. 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. -

A study on the capital structure and sources of finance of SMEs in India
Growth of the corporate sector is important in the process of economic development. Apart from big industries, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs from now on) also contribute to the expansion of the directly productive sector in the economy, generating tax revenue for the government, helping poverty reduction through fiscal transfers and creation of income from employment as well as ownership of firms. It is imperative for SMEs in developing countries to be able to finance their activities and grow over time if they are to play an increasing role in providing employment and income in terms of wages to households, profits, as well as dividends to investors.
