Synthesis, Characterization and Catalytic activity of Zirconia-Ceria catalysts
The development of catalysts is critical for the economical and environmentally efficient generation of chemical compounds that underlie every aspect of our society. Catalysts are key players in research involving the discovery of pharmaceuticals, materials, and polymers. In addition, catalysis is especially powerful in bulk synthesis, allowing the production of compounds, polymers and commodity chemicals via routes that would otherwise be impossible. Ceria is the unique rare earth for which dioxide is the normal stable phase contrary to the others for which Ln2O3 is the normal stoichiometry. The applications of ceria based materials are related to a potential redox chemistry involving Ce(III) and Ce(IV), high affinity of the element for oxygen and sulphur and absorption/excitation energy bands associated with its electronic structure. Zirconium is one of the more abundant elements, and is widely distributed in the Earth's crust. Being very reactive chemically, it is found only in the combined state or as part of a complex of oxides as in zircon, elpidite, and eudialyte. Doping ceria with zirconia may improve the oxygen storage properties of ceria at three different levels. At the level of the microstructure, it inhibits surface diffusion and in turn the loss of surface area at high temperatures. At the microscopic level, substantial doping may result in the formation of an interface structure that facilitates the oxygen transport from bulk to the surface. At the atomic-level, it stabilizes the oxygen defective structure. The texture, structure and thermal stability of ceria-zirconia doped oxides are closely related to the ratio of cerium to zirconium in the solid solution. Chapter 1 comprises of the general introduction of catalysis, importance of solid acid catalysis, sulphated metal oxides, pure ceria, pure zirconia, modified ceria and zirconia. It gives a brief introduction about the nitration of toluene. The aim and objectives of the present investigation are also described at the end of this chapter. Chapter 2 comprises of a thorough literature survey on the significance of solid acid and super acid catalysts in various domains of chemical industry and importance of anion promoted zirconia and ceria catalysts. The definition of ??super acid and their classification vii on the basis of origin of the active sites are also outlined. Importance of modified metal oxides is also outlined. Chapter 3 deals with the experimental procedures and techniques employed in this investigation. Scientific aspects of the precipitation and impregnation methods were outlined. The experimental details of surface area measurements by BET method, application of X-ray powder diffraction studies for crystalline phase and size determination, elemental detection by EDAX, spectral details from FTIR and thermal stability by TGA have been described. Chapter 4 deals with the various characterization results and discussion of pure, doped and sulphated Zirconia-ceria solid acid catalysts. The bulk and surface properties of the catalyst was discussed by XRD, BET surface area, TGA and FTIR. All characterization results revealed that the incorporated sulphate ions has a significant influence on the surface and bulk properties of the ZrO2-CeO2 catalyst. The prepared catalysts are investigated for the liquid phase nitration of toluene under various reaction conditions. Chapter 5 gives with the summary and conclusion of the present study. It also gives the future scope of the present study. On the whole, zirconia-ceria solid acid catalysts were successfully synthesized by simple route. Physicochemical characterization of all these catalysts revealed that the loaded sulphated and doped metal oxides show a significant influence on the surface and bulk properties of the ZrO2 - CeO2. These catalysts are found to be active for the liquid phase nitration of toluene. Key words: Solid acid catalysis, Zirconia-Ceria, Sulphated zirconia-ceria, Nitration of toluene -
A Study on Regular Perfect Graphs
A graph (V, E) is said to be a perfect graph if the independence number of every induced subgraph in G is equal to the clique covering number of the subgraph in G. The independence number of a graph G is denoted by and#945;(G), and it is the maximum number of vertices in G such that no two of them belong to the same clique in G. The clique covering number of a graph G is denoted by and#952;(G), and is the minimum number of cliques required to cover the vertex set of G. F- perfect graph is a special type of perfect graph, where F can be any graph, like, complete graph (Km), the complement of a complete graph (Km), star, cycle, and so on. A graph G is said to be F-perfect if F-independence number for every newlineinduced subgraph H of G is equal to its F-covering number. The F-independence number of a graph G is the maximum number of vertices in G such that no two of them belong to the same F-subgraph in G. F-covering number is the minimum number of F-subgraphs in G that is required to cover the vertex set of G. newlineThe present study introduces the concept of regular perfect graphs, and induced regular perfect graphs which are denoted by R-perfect graphs, and R-perfect graphs respectively. These graph classes are obtained by considering F as the set of all regular subgraphs in a graph, R, and the set of all induced regular subgraphs, R, in a graph respectively. We conceptualise the graph parameters, R-independence number, and R-covering number for R-perfect graphs and R-independence number, and R-covering number for R-perfect graphs, and characterise both these classes of graphs. We initially study a subclass of regular perfect graphs, namely, cycle perfect graphs (C-perfect graphs) and induced cycle perfect graphs (C-perfect graphs). Further we extend the study to analyse various product graphs under C-perfection, and characterise them. -

Block chain-based security and authentication for forensics application using consensus proof of work and zero knowledge protocol
The technique that checks the origin, integrity, Zero-Knowledge authenticity of photographs is known as image authentication. Numerous studies on image authentication have revealed numerous trade-offs between four desirable features, namely robustness, security, flexibility, and efficiency. This study demonstrated a high-security Forensic Image (FI) as well as an authentication mechanism. Initially, the FI considered image registration with features for the Consensus method (CM) to generate blocks on each feature using a hypothesis test-based similarity measure. Because Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchain technology is widely used, maintaining the Consensus PoW(CPoW) requires a massive amount of computing power. ZKP authentication is a critical cryptographic mechanism that authenticates network nodes without revealing the users identity or any other data given by the user. The blockchain stores the secret information, as well as the hash value of the original FI. This allows for the tracking of all medical pictures exchanged through the proposed blockchain network. The blockchain stores the private information as well as the hash value of the original medical image. The experimental results indicate the utility of the proposed approach with performance measures in contrast to established security analysis methods. A molecular docking study of SARS-CoV-2 main protease against phytochemicals of Boerhavia diffusa Linn. for novel COVID-19 drug discovery
SARS-CoV-2, the causative virus of the Corona virus disease that was first recorded in 2019 (COVID-19), has already affected over 110 million people across the world with no clear targeted drug therapy that can be efficiently administered to the wide spread victims. This study tries to discover a novel potential inhibitor to the main protease of the virus, by computer aided drug discovery where various major active phytochemicals of the plant Boerhavia diffusa Linn. namely 2-3-4 beta-Ecdysone, Bioquercetin, Biorobin, Boeravinone J, Boerhavisterol, kaempferol, Liriodendrin, quercetin and trans-caftaric acid were docked to SAR-CoV-2 Main Protease using Molecular docking server. The ligands that showed the least binding energy were Biorobin with ? 8.17kcal/mol, Bioquercetin with ? 7.97kcal/mol and Boerhavisterol with ? 6.77kcal/mol. These binding energies were found to be favorable for an efficient docking and resultant inhibition of the viral main protease. The graphical illustrations and visualizations of the docking were obtained along with inhibition constant, intermolecular energy (total and degenerate), interaction surfaces and HB Plot for all the successfully docked conditions of all the 9 ligands mentioned. Additionally the druglikeness of the top 3 hits namely Bioquercetin, Biorobin and Boeravisterol were tested by ADME studies and Boeravisterol was found to be a suitable candidate obeying the Lipinskys rule. Since the main protease of SARS has been reported to possess structural similarity with the main protease of MERS, comparative docking of these ligands were also carried out on the MERS Mpro, however the binding energies for this target was found to be unfavorable for spontaneous binding. From these results, it was concluded that Boerhavia diffusa possess potential therapeutic properties against COVID-19. 2021, Indian Virological Society. -
A critical review of anticancer properties of Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal with respect to the biochemical mechanisms of its phytochemical constituents
Cancer is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, the conventional chemotherapeutic drugs have been known for their toxicity and numerous side effects. A new approach to treat cancer involves phytochemical drugs. In the present review, anti-cancer activity of a class of steroidal lactones called withanolides obtained from Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal is discussed. The commonly studied bioactive compounds namely withaferin-A, withanoside IV, withanoside VI and withanolide-A among others obtained from methanolic and chloroform extract of the leaves and various alcoholic, aqueous and chloroform extract of roots have shown inhibition to various human cancer cell lines including skin, breast, colon, prostate, liver, ovary, cervical and lung. Prominent mechanisms of action include induction of apoptosis by NOS upregulation, ROS production and NBS2 or COX-2 inhibition; cytotoxicity by humoral and cell mediated immune response, activation of p53 and pRB and inhibition of various viral oncoproteins; cell cycle arrest by Cdc2 facilitated mitotic catastrophe, cyclin-D1 down-regulation and inhibition of transcription factors. Cancers are also controlled by inhibition of angiogenesis and metastasis of the tumor cells. In addition to anti-tumorogenic properties, W. somnifera also holds properties that make it a potential adjuvant in integrated cancer therapeutics and in enhancing the effectiveness of ongoing radiation therapy. P-phase picker using virtual cloud-based Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless Sensor Networks, mainly regarded as numerous resource-limited nodes linked via low bandwidth, have been intensively deployed for active volcano monitoring during the few past years. This paper studies the problem of primary waves received by seismic wireless sensors suffering from limited bandwidth, processing capacity, battery life and memory. To address these challenges, a new P-phase picking approach where sensors are virtualized using cloud computing architecture followed by a novel in-network signal processing algorithm, is proposed. The two principal merits of this paper are the clear demonstration that the Cloud Computing model is a good fit with the dynamic computational requirements of volcano monitoring and the novel signal processing algorithm for accurate P-phases picking. The proposed new model has been evaluated on Mount Nyiragongo using Eucalyptus/Open Stack with Orchestra-Juju for Private Sensor Cloud then to some famous public clouds such as Amozon EC2, ThingSpeak, SensorCloud and Pachube. The testing has been successful at 75%. The recommendation for future work would be to improve the effectiveness of virtual sensors by applying optimization techniques and other methods. 2015 IEEE. -
Monitoring nyiragongo volcano using a federated cloud-based wireless sensor network
Current Nyiragongo Volcano observatory systems yield poor monitoring quality due to unpredictable dynamics of volcanic activities and limited sensing capability of existing sensors (seismometers, acoustic microphones, GPS, tilt-meter, optical thermal, and gas flux). The sensor node has limited processing capacity and memory. So if some tasks from the sensor nodes can be uploaded to the server of cloud computing then the battery life of the sensor nodes can be extended. The cloud computing can be used both for processing of aggregate query and storage of data. The two principal merits of this paper are the clear demonstration that the Cloud Computing model is a good fit with the dynamic computational requirements of Nyiragongo volcano monitoring and the novel optimization algorithm for seismic data routing. The proposed new model has been evaluated using Arduino-Atmega328 as hardware platform, Eucalyptus/Open Stack with Orchestra-Juju for Private Sensor Cloud connected to some famous public clouds such as Amazon EC2, ThingSpeak, SensorCloud and Pachube. 2017 IEEE. -

Comparative Study Analysis on News Articles Categorization using LSA and NMF Approaches
Due to exponentially growing news articles every day, most of their important data goes unnoticed. It is important to come up with the ability to automatically analyse these articles and segregate them based on the context and related to their particular domain. This paper applies topic modelling which is one of the most growing unsupervised machine learning fields on a million headlines articles in order to produce topics to describe the context of the news article. There are various generative models but we specifically focusing on the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) for implementing and evaluating news dataset. Furthermore, the findings reveal that both NMF and LSA are useful topic modelling tools and classification frameworks, but based on the experimental results the LSA model performed well to identify the hidden data with better mean coherence values and also consumes lesser execution time than NMF. 2022 IEEE. -
A Study towards constructing a reproductive health account as sub-account of health at sub-district level of india
Reproductive health is a state where everyone of the reproductive age cohort can make newlineinformed choices based on their reproductive health needs and reach a state of bliss and newlinewell-being. Informed choices are a possibility only if there is awareness regarding options of healthcare available. Awareness further indicates capacity to measure the worth of the options available in hand. One major aspect of measuring this worth is dominated by the financial aspect of awareness. In other words, expenditures incurred on reproductive health should be an information for all stakeholders to understand, analyse and arrive at informed newlinechoices. It has been unanimously felt that this domain of health needs more sustained efforts in terms of research into the specific components of expenditures. One such instrument which has been suggested is to construct a system of reproductive health accounts which TOVCI can track the fund movements among the different actors operating in the sector of reproductive health. Reproductive health accounts at local and contextual levels, has to conform to the existing national framework of health accounting so as to lend itself to inter and intra-regional comparisons. It consists of a group of matrices which capture origin of funds from financial sources to the destination where funds will ultimately be used on health functions, based on accounting boundaries of space, activity and time. This study attempted to construct a reproductive health account at sub-district levels in the district of Ramanagara in the state of Karnataka, India. Two sub-districts, Ramanagara and Channapatna were chosen for this purpose based on their health and reproductive health indicators. Primary data was collected from a household survey based on probability proportional to size sampling method. Questionnaires for data collection were borrowed from World Health Organization Guide to producing Reproductive Health Account. -
Induction of radio frequency transmission in indian railway for smooth running of traffic during fog
Our railway system drives whole sole based on its electrical signaling but due to poor visibility it becomes impossible to run the traffic smoothly We are suggesting to use radio wave communication technology for running of train when conventional signaling cant be followed due to poor visibility. During winter season, due to heavy fog especially in North India and East India it becomes almost impossible to drive the train on time. Our idea can remove this problem permanently. A dedicated radio frequency band will be used by railway service and a specific frequency will be assigned to all tracks running to a specific direction. All trains will be equipped with a transmitter and a receiver. Train drivers will get notification of received radio frequency within a certain circumference (5 km). So if it receives the same frequency which it is transmitting then the driver will understand another train is there on the same track so signaling room and the driver will also be aware of the fact. Then the control room or the driver can take action considering speed and distance between this two accordingly. If another train will be running on the next track then also it will receive signal but in that case it will run at as usual speed. 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
