PE-v-SVR based Architecture to Predict and Prevent Low and Slow-Rate DDoS Attacks using Machine Learning
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks continue to emerge; low and slow attacks pose a serious threat. These small-scale attacks often evade traditional security protections and increase the risk of long-term outages and loss of service. Our research aims to develop effective predictive models and strategic defences to detect and mitigate slow DDoS attacks. The proposed model combines Power Spectral entropy and V-Support Vector Regression. More importantly, the version achieves the first-class error price in the variety of zero to at least one, demonstrating its effectiveness in detecting and predicting DDoS attacks. Research results show the effectiveness of the proposed design using PSD (power spectral density) entropy and V-SVR. The best mean square error obtained further confirms the ability of the model in this context. V-SVR in low and sluggish DDoS assaults. 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi. -
PCRS: Personalized Course Recommender System Based on Hybrid Approach
The traditional system of selecting courses to carry out research work is time consuming, risky and a tedious task, that not only badly affect the performance but the learning experience of a researcher as well. Therefore, choosing appropriate courses in seminal years could help to do research in a better way. This Study presents a recommender system that will suggest and guide a learner in selecting the courses as per their requirement. The Hybrid methodology has been used along with ontology to retrieve useful information and make accurate recommendations. Such an approach may be helpful to learners to increase their performance and improve their satisfaction level as well. PCR and Bio-signature for data confidentiality and integrity in mobile cloud computing
Cloud computing technology got relevance as computing paradigm, which delivers massively scalable computing technologies based on the Internet for the organizations. Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) allows users more possibilities to access services conveniently. But data security and privacy issues still act as barriers for adoption to cloud technology when dealing with confidential data. Encryption techniques play a significant role in ensuring data security in the Cloud. Various data encryption techniques have been evolved till the date of which DNA Computing techniques got wider acceptance due to biological complexity and computational properties of DNA. These features can be exploited to solve data security issues in MCC. This paper highlights the security issues in the MCC and proposes biocomputing solution approaches to address data security. A methodology is proposed based on the principle concepts of polymerase chain reaction and primer generation for ensuring data confidentiality and integrity. The security analysis of the proposed cryptosystem is evaluated by theoretical analysis, complexity and probability analysis. Paytms crossroads: an analysts dilemma

Case overview/synopsis: Rajani Chandran, a seasoned financial analyst, relooks her recommendation of Paytm in light of the recent revocation of its Payment Bank License. Paytm, the flagship service of One97 Communications Ltd., a financial technology company, is a pioneer in the Indian digital payments and financial services market. However, the developments post going public in 2021 were not always favorable. The frequent fallout with Reserve Bank of India brought restrictions on onboarding new customers and ultimately the revocation of the license. This drastic move is of huge concern to those who have invested in the company. Thus, given this backdrop, Rajani initially explored the dynamic landscape of the Indian digital payments and fintech industry, considering macroeconomic factors, competition and regulatory dynamics. She delved into Paytms financial performance to gauge its position in the market. The next phase of the careful scrutiny involved arriving at the equity value of the venture using the discounted cash flow model. Finally, Rajani critically appraised the drivers of valuation, incorporating both quantitative and the story she has crafted around Paytm. Consequently, participants in this case study are prompted to evaluate Paytm and arrive at a valuation and furnish a comprehensive recommendation based on their analyses, thus understanding the intricacies of evaluating a fintech company with immense potential. This case study serves as a valuable resource for students seeking to comprehend the complexities of financial analysis and valuation within the context of a dynamic and evolving industry landscape. Pattern Recognition: An Outline of Literature Review that Taps into Machine Learning to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals
The sustainable development goals (SDGs) as specified by the United Nations are a blueprint to make the Earth to be more sustainable by the year 2030. It envisions member nations fighting climate change, achieving gender equality, quality education for all, and access to quality healthcare among the 17 goals laid out. To achieve these goals by the year 2030, member nations have put special schemes in place for citizens while experimenting with newer ways in which a measurable difference can be made. Countries are tapping into ancient wisdom and harnessing newer technologies that use artificial intelligence and machine learning to make the world more liveable. These newer methods would also lower the cost of implementation and hence would be very useful to governments across the world. Of much interest are the applications of machine learning in getting useful information and deploying solutions gained from such information to achieve the goals set by the United Nations for an imperishable future. One such machine learning technique that can be employed is pattern recognition which has applications in various areas that will help in making the environment sustainable, making technology sustainable, and thus, making the Earth a better place to live in. Pattern of Carbon Dioxide Emission, Economic Growth and Energy Consumption in South-Asian Countries: An Empirical Analysis
The main aim of this chapter is to analyse the pattern of environmental pollution as represented by per capita carbon dioxide emission (PCCO2), per capita gross domestic product (PCGDP) and per capita energy consumption (PCEC) and their nexus in case of South-Asian countries for the time period 19912014. Econometric tools such as panel co-integration and fully modified ordinary least squares have been used to study the relations. A positive significant relationship has been observed between PCGDP and PCCO2 emission. In addition, an increase in PCEC also has a positively significant impact on PCCO2 emission. Therefore, the governments of all the countries need to come together and take steps to curb the rising carbon emission since neither the problem nor the responsibility is restricted to one country alone. There is a need for countries to increase the consumption of renewable energy and explore alternate options that are fewer dependents on coal or any other fossil fuel. Pattern of acquisition of theory of mind in pre-schoolers: A cross-sectional study from South India
Background: Theory of Mind (ToM) is an important part of children's social cognitive development. The pattern of ToM acquisition depends on many factors including culture, the number of family members, and siblings. This study aimed to examine the pattern of ToM acquisition in Indian culture. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study among preschool children (three to six years) (N = 118) from rural and urban backgrounds. ToM development was assessed using the Wellman and Liu Theory of Mind Scale and the Children's Social Understanding Scale (parent report). Results: The order of acquisition of ToM in Indian children was as follows: diverse desire> diverse belief> knowledge access> explicit false belief> content false belief> hidden emotion. The number of siblings positively correlated with the total ToM task score, and the number of adults in the family did not show any positive correlation. Conclusions: Although India is a collectivistic country, the acquisition pattern of ToM in our population was like that of individualistic countries such as the United States. 2023 Elsevier B.V. -
Patriarchy and Wifehood: A Feminist Reading of One Part Woman and Singarevva and the Palace
Marriage is a socially approved relationship between a man and a woman that binds each other into a permanent, official relation of husband and wife. In a patriarchal culture, the husbands personify dominance and liberty, whereas the wives are expected to be the epitome of fidelity, fecundity and chastity. In the Indian context, the intense devotion of wives towards their husbands defines married women as pativratas. The present study intends to analyze the various aspects that contribute to and shape the formation of the identity of a wife in a marital space through Ponna and Singarevva, the female protagonists of the novels One Part Woman and Singarevva and the Palace, respectively. The paper demonstrates how these female protagonists identity as wives gets suppressed over a period of time and how they succeed in reconstructing their identities, sailing against all odds stacked against them. Patients trust in the Indian healthcare system and its impact on the intention to use artificial intelligence-based healthcare chatbots
Purpose: Indian patients have different medicine systems available at the service that alter their healthseeking behaviour (HSB). This study aims to examine the beliefs and behaviour of patients in India towards the healthcare system and how it affects their intention to use healthcare chatbots. Design/methodology/approach: A survey instrument was developed from standard scales and validated by experts. The data was collected from 397 respondents in an urban area and tested using a structural equation model in SAS JMP software. Findings: The study found that awareness and perception of chatbots and distrust on doctors and health systems impact trust in a chatbot. The results show that trust in chatbots influences the intention to use chatbots. The belief in alternative medicine systems and HSB also influence the intention to use chatbots. The study findings also imply that health-care chatbots should cater to HSB and the belief in alternative medicine. Research limitations/implications: The study was conducted only among the urban population because services based on technology are more available in metro cities. Bengaluru is considered the representative population of urban India. Practical implications: The level of disruption that chatbots can provide to the healthcare system makes this study significant. The study findings will help to manage the factors that can enable chatbot inclusivity, as the current system is inaccessible to many patients. Originality/value: This paper addresses an identified need to study patients trust in the Indian healthcare system and their intention to use chatbots. Patient Monitoring System for Elderly Care using AI Robot
The use of robots in numerous industries has expanded in recent decades. Self-guiding robots have started to arise in human life, particularly in sectors pertaining to the lives of old people. Age-related population growth is accelerating globally. As a result, there is a rising need for personal care robots. The purpose of this requirement is to increase opportunities for mobility and support independence. To meet this demand, a robot with specific functionalities to help older people has been designed. The standard values of healthcare parameters are stored in the database by recording and comparing the current values the system will give an alarm and also sends a message to the doctor or caretaker so that a proper care would be given to the patients. We are including a preset distance value to monitor the elder people. Here we are using some sensors to detect the health parameters from the person. Robot have designed to intimate the family members if any changes occur in the health parameters. It helps the people to stay alone in home with safe manner. 2022 IEEE. -
Pathway toDetect Cancer Tumor byGenetic Mutation
Cancer detection is one of the challenging tasks due to the unavailability of proper medical facilities. The survival of cancer patients depends upon early detection and medication. The main cause of the disease is due to several genetic mutations which form cancer tumors. Identification of genetic mutation is a time-consuming task. This creates a lot of difficulties for the molecular pathologist. A molecular pathologist selects a list of gene variations to analyze manually. The clinical evidence strips belong to nine classes, but the classification principle is still unknown. This implementation proposes a multi-class classifier to classify genetic mutations based on clinical evidence. Natural language processing analyzes the clinical text of evidence of gene mutations. Machine learning algorithms like K-nearest neighbor, linear support vector machine, and stacking models are applied to the collected text dataset, which contains information about the genetic mutations and other clinical pieces of evidence that pathology uses to classify the gene mutations. In this implementation, nine genetic variations have been taken, considered a multi-class classification problem. Here, each data point is classified among the nine classes of gene mutation. The performance of the machine learning models is analyzed on the gene, variance, and text features. The gene, variance, and text features are analyzed individually with univariate analysis. Then K-nearest neighbor, linear support vector machine, and stacking model are applied to the combined features of a gene, variance, and text. In the experiment, support vector machine gives better results as compared to other models because this model provides fewer misclassification points. Based on the variants of gene mutation, the risk of cancer can be detected, and medications can be given. Advances in technology have made patenting of biotechnology inventions mandatory. The patent law system contains general clauses prohibiting the patenting of inventions contrary to public order or morality. Recent years have brought numerous debates on limiting the possibility of patent protection for biotechnology inventions for ethical reasons. The existing literature examines bioethical justification in terms of the principles of respect for autonomy, non-maleficence, beneficence and justice. Patent Dispute settlement through Arbitration and the public policy concerns

Patent legislations changed on basis of the national and international needs. The monopoly right granted for an invention is on the basis of their intellectual skill. Patent dispute settlement mechanisms are mainly patent office through controller of patent, District Court & High Court and the patent tribunals. Patent is granted for 20years in India. The patent holder can utilize the same within this short span of time. Hence all the patent holders and the public challenging the validity of the patent, expect a speedy justice in patent disputes. This research paper addresses the question as to whether subject matters that can be referred for arbitration can be limited on grounds of public policy. Past decade of supercapacitor research Lessons learned for future innovations
Due to their high power density, long cycle stability, and quick charge/discharge rates, supercapacitors are gaining popularity in the field of energy storage devices. These distinct features have enabled supercapacitors to create their own space in the energy storage device realm. This review addresses contemporary ways to increase not just the power density, rate capability, cycle stability, and other properties of supercapacitors, but also their energy density utilising hybrid topologies. Because electrodes are the most significant component of a supercapacitor cell and the last decade mainly focused on the material realm, this paper focuses on the design of hybrid supercapacitor electrodes with high specific capacitance, as well as the explication of the mechanisms involved. We have also given an insight about the merits and demerits of various electrode materials that have been employed till date.
