Employing bioactive compounds derived from Ipomoea obscura (L.) to evaluate potential inhibitor for SARS-CoV-2 main protease and ACE2 protein
Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and main protease (MPro) are significant target proteins, mainly involved in the attachment of viral genome to host cells and aid in replication of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronaviruses or SARS-CoV genome. In the present study, we identified 11 potent bioactive compounds from ethanolic leaf extract of Ipomoea obscura (L.) by using GC-MS analysis. These potential bioactive compounds were considered for molecular docking studies against ACE2 and MPro target proteins to determine the antiviral effects against SARS-COV. Results exhibits that among 11 compounds from I. obscura (L.), urso-deoxycholic acid, demeclocycline, tetracycline, chlorotetracycline, and ethyl iso-allocholate had potential viral inhibitory activity. Hence, the present findings suggested that chemical constitution present in I. obscura (L.) will address inhibition of corona viral replication in host cells. 2020 The Authors. Employing Deep Learning in Intraday Stock Trading
Accurate stock price prediction is a significant benefit to the Stock investors. The future Stock value of any company is determined by Stock market prediction. A successful prediction of the stock's future price could result in a significant profit; Hence investors prefer a precise Stock price prediction. Although there are many different approaches to helps in forecasting stock prices, this paper will briefly look into the deep learning models and compare LSTM model and its variants. The key intention of this study is to propose a model that is best suitable and can be implemented to forecasting trend of stock prices. This paper focuses on binary classification problem, predicting the next-minute price movement of SPDR SP 500 index The testing experiments performed on the SPDR SP 500 index reveals that the variants of LSTM models, Slim LSTM1, slim LSTM2, and Slim LSTM3 with less parameters, provide better performance when compared to the Standard LSTM Model. 2020 IEEE. -
Empowered learning in school: A scoping review
A high degree of motivation, a sense of commitment, self-efficacy and the ability to make the right choices are the characteristics of empowered learners. With education being seen as preparation for life, educators are increasingly pressured to develop curriculum and pedagogy that assist learners to become empowered. Based on the theoretical framework developed by Arksey and OMalley, the present study reviewed 16 empowered learning intervention studies at the school level published between the years 1995 and 2021 as well as provides an extensive summary of empowered learning enhancing interventions conducted in schools. This study highlights the concept of empowered learning, features and scope of interventions directed towards empowered learning of students at schools and the role of empowered learning in schools. Notwithstanding varied intervention results, the findings of this study indicate that empowered learning interventions produce highly motivated students with a sense of commitment and self-efficacy. This review also identifies the need for more pure experimental studies and a commonly accepted theory on empowered learning as a single concept. 2023, Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science. Empowering Adolescent Emergent Readers in Government Schools: An Exploration of Multimodal Texts as Pathways to Comprehension
This exploratory study, which was part of a larger investigation into multimodality, looked at the comprehension levels of 62 Grade 8 students from two government schools who were identified as emerging readers out of a group of 118 students. Through observations and interactions with teachers and students, the potential for multimodal texts to enhance comprehension was highlighted. The study specifically compared the effectiveness of a digital comic (Text A) and an audio-visual text (Text B) in enabling comprehension among these emergent readers. Participants were instructed to narrate the content and share their interpretations of these texts, with their responses recorded and analyzed. Feedback revealed a marked preference for Text B among 45 of the 62 emergent readers assessed. Employing theoretical frameworks related to comprehension, language production, multimodality, and task structure, this research concentrated on the subset of 45 students who favored Text B. The findings underscore the importance of aligning instructional materials with students preferred learning modalities, suggesting that such alignment enhances comprehension. The study proposes a refined approach to literacy education policy, advocating for the inclusion of diverse modalities to better meet the varied learning needs of students. 2024 Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers. -
Empowering BRICS economies: The crucial role of green finance, information and communication technologyand innovation in sustainable development
This study delves into the crucial role of green finance, information and communication technology (ICT), technological innovation, and renewable energy in the Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRICS) countries from 2000 to 2021. The findings highlight the importance of green finance in reducing the ecological footprint and promoting eco-friendly initiatives, sustainable practices, environmental technology innovation, and heightened environmental awareness. This means 1% increase in green related finance has reduced ecological footprint by 0.72% in BRICS economies. Additionally, technological innovation and the consumption of renewable energy play a significant role in enhancing environmental sustainability. Conversely, the study reveals that ICT has a considerable impact on the ecological footprint, but the interaction effect with green finance helps to mitigate its negative effects and improve the environmental quality. Meanwhile, non-renewable energy, gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, and urbanization have an adverse effect on the environment. To strengthen green finance in BRICS countries, governments can establish comprehensive policy frameworks that prioritize sustainability and create a conducive climate for incentivizing investment in environmentally friendly endeavors. 2024 ERP Environment and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. -
Empowering E-commerce: Leveraging Open AI and Sentiment Analysis for Smarter Recommendations
Online product reviews are pivotal in shaping consumer purchasing decisions in today's digital era. Leveraging the wealth of sentiment-rich data available through these reviews, this research proposes an approach to enhance product recommendation systems. This study integrates sentiment analysis techniques into the recommendation process to provide users with more personalized and insightful product recommendations. By analyzing the sentiment expressed in user-generated content, such as reviews and ratings, this system aims to capture not only the explicit preferences but also the underlying sentiments and emotions of users towards products. Furthermore, this system utilizes OpenAI and the power of Langchain to develop a chatbot interface, enabling users to interact naturally and receive personalized product recommendations based on their preferences and sentiment analysis. Through experimentation on real-world datasets, this paper evaluates the effectiveness and performance of the sentiment-enhanced recommendation system compared to traditional recommendation methods. In today's evolving retail environment, it is important to ensure the sustenance of unorganised small retailers. Efforts should be made to make these retailers innovative and competitive. This study focuses on the need to upgrade the digital and physical infrastructure of Kiranas. Initially, researchers examined store physical layouts. Primary data analysis from Indian consumers via online surveys confirms the significance of store design. The layout directly influences impulse purchases. Unlike in modern retail stores where consumers often shop with family and friends, prompting unplanned purchases due to product visibility and tactile engagement, Kirana shops can capitalise on these behaviours. The study proposes an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model for Kirana shops, illustrating its potential value. AI-driven data analysis offers invaluable insights into operational dynamics, leveraging advanced algorithms to process vast datasets encompassing sales, inventory, and customer interactions. This approach enables uncovering intricate patterns, accurate demand forecasting, and optimising inventory levels, enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, AI-driven sentiment analysis of customer feedback facilitates personalised marketing strategies, improving customer satisfaction. Empowering women living with HIV AIDS A study on organisational strategies and challenges
The acts of discrimination and exclusion meted out to the people living with HIV/AIDS, and the stigma attached to the condition deprives the afflicted, of their capacity to exercise their fundamental rights and to access basic necessities. Specifically, the suffering of the women stricken by this chronic, incurable malady, the majority of whom from newlineeconomically weaker sections of our society is very poignant. From the time this pandemic broke out in 1984, world organisations, national and local organisations, both government and non-government have come to newlinethe aid of the PLWHA. Some of them cater singularly to the needs of the WLWHA, who are as such more vulnerable ever since the plight of the women living with the deadly disease was brought to light. But as the years went by, there has been a decline in the help extended to the WLWHA. This study is undertaken to ascertain the current state of newlineservices and strategies used by the organisations to empower the WLWHA and the challenges faced by the organisations in their endeavours. Appropriate questionnaires were administered to analyse the situations and find the facts about the services, strategies and challenges from the perspective of the organisation WLWHA. A few case studies of the WLWHA were done to delve into the depths of their perceptions. From the study, it has been learned that the organisations have prioritized medical and rehabilitation services to empower the women. Medical care is given directly by the organisations and also through networking with government bodies and other services newlineproviders. Affected women and family members are counselled for acceptance of the condition and familial and societal integration. Occupational therapy and vocational training are other strategies for newlineempowerment.Organisations provide nutritious food for the women and arrange for them to get the necessary provisions through Public newlineDistribution System (PDS) or through donors. -

Empowering women through livelihood interventions: Case studies from an impoverished community
This chapter looks at the influence of a livelihood project in empowering women belonging to an impoverished community from one of the most backward regions of the state of Karnataka in Southern India. Jamkhandi taluq of Bagalkote district is one of the poorer taluqs in the state, with a sex ratio of 938 and a female literacy rate of 50.75%. The Centre for Social Action began working in the area around a decade ago. The livelihood project was an offshoot of a project on Population displacement that was undertaken in the region. CSA adopted the Self-Help Approach (SHA) to meet the needs of this community. This gave the necessary impetus for the creation of a livelihood project for disadvantaged women. The central theme of the chapter is to study the extent of empowerment that is evident among the project's women beneficiaries. This chapter presents the evidence of empowerment using the qualitative case study methodology using ten cases. The theoretical framework provided by the 'Three Dimensional Model of Women Empowerment' is used to present the analysis. Document review and in-depth interviews are the prominent data sets used to present the study's major findings. The hybrid approach to coding and thematic analysis is used to integrate the insights from the theory used as well as observations from the study. Both within-case analysis and cross-case analysis are used for analysis. The personal, relational, and societal dimensions of empowerment are presented through themes emerging from the data. The implication of the chapter is the reiteration of the efficacy of the model in empowering women. This model can be replicated in other project areas, and livelihood strategies can be adopted extensively. 2024 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. -
Emprical Study of Crypto Currency and its Adoption Among Indians
This paper investigates many factors that impact cryptocurrency awareness and acceptance in the Indian market. Data were obtained from 376 volunteers of various ages across India. The following paper presented a framework based on EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis), CFA (Confirmatory Factor Analysis), and SEM (Structural Equation Model). Technology awareness, recommendations to others, attitude, social influence, and openness to technical education were all responsible for bitcoin adoption. Meanwhile, trust and perceived risk were not accountable for the adoption of crypto currency. No significant factors directly responsible for the adoption or abandonment of crypto currencies were mentioned in the papers that were read. The Indian market is still not thoroughly studied regarding crypto currency and the population using it. It would create a massive opportunity for crypto currency to operate in the Indian market once the factors responsible for crypto currency adoption are known 2024 IEEE. -

Enabling Agricultural Sector through Blockchain Technology Farmers Perspective
The agricultural sectors in India and abroad have been affected extensively due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is necessary to provide solutions for the availability of resources, controlling the cost, quality in production, transparent food supply, fulfilling demand, and removing intermediaries. The structural reforms in the agricultural sector by adopting emerging technologies, especially blockchain technology (BCT) and the robotics automation process, are inevitable during the pandemic and future development. To study the impact of blockchain on the Agriculture sector, the farmer's level of awareness of the blockchain technology, its methodological influence, the inclination of farmers to adopt the technology in their farming, and agri-related activity are vital. This paper aims to explore the opportunities of BCT in expanding the agriculture sector, ascertain the awareness and intensity of farmers' knowledge of the effect of BCT, and develop the mean difference in the opinion of the farmers towards the utilization of BCT in the relevant field of agriculture. A structured interview schedule was administered with 360 sample farmers from the Delta regions of three states located in the southern part of India, such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamilnadu, using a purposive sampling technique intending.
