Machine Learning Technology-Based Heart Disease Detection Models
At present, a multifaceted clinical disease known as heart failure disease can affect a greater number of people in the world. In the early stages, to evaluate and diagnose the disease of heart failure, cardiac centers and hospitals are heavily based on ECG. The ECG can be considered as a regular tool. Heart disease early detection is a critical concern in healthcare services (HCS). This paper presents the different machine learning technologies based on heart disease detection brief analysis. Firstly, Nae Bayes with a weighted approach is used for predicting heart disease. The second one, according to the features of frequency domain, time domain, and information theory, is automatic and analyze ischemic heart disease localization/detection. Two classifiers such as support vector machine (SVM) with XGBoost with the best performance are selected for the classification in this method. The third one is the heart failure automatic identification method by using an improved SVM based on the duality optimization scheme also analyzed. Finally, for a clinical decision support system (CDSS), an effective heart disease prediction model (HDPM) is used, which includes density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) for outlier detection and elimination, a hybrid synthetic minority over-sampling technique-edited nearest neighbor (SMOTE-ENN) for balancing the training data distribution, and XGBoost for heart disease prediction. Machine learning can be applied in the medical industry for disease diagnosis, detection, and prediction. The major purpose of this paper is to give clinicians a tool to help them diagnose heart problems early on. As a result, it will be easier to treat patients effectively and avoid serious repercussions. This study uses XGBoost to test alternative decision tree classification algorithms in the hopes of improving the accuracy of heart disease diagnosis. Covid-19 ct lung image segmentation using adaptive donkey and smuggler optimization algorithm
COVID'19 has caused the entire universe to be in existential health crisis by spreading globally in the year 2020. The lungs infection is detected in Computed Tomography (CT) images which provide the best way to increase the existing healthcare schemes in preventing the deadly virus. Nevertheless, separating the infected areas in CT images faces various issues such as lowintensity difference among normal and infectious tissue and high changes in the characteristics of the infection. To resolve these issues, a newinf-Net (Lung Infection Segmentation Deep Network) is designed for detecting the affected areas from the CT images automatically. For the worst segmentation results, the Edge-Attention Representation (EAR) is optimized using Adaptive Donkey and Smuggler Optimization (ADSO). The edges which are identified by the ADSO approach is utilized for calculating dissimilarities. An IFCM (Intuitionistic Fuzzy C-Means) clustering approach is applied for computing the similarity of the EA component among the generated edge maps and Ground-Truth (GT) edge maps. Also, a Semi-Supervised Segmentation (SSS) structure is designed using the Randomly Selected Propagation (RP) technique and Inf-Net, which needs only less number of images and unlabelled data. Semi-Supervised Multi-Class Segmentation (SSMCS) is designed using a Bi-LSTM (Bi-Directional Long-Short-Term-memory), acquires all the advantages of the disease segmentation done using Semi Inf-Net and enhances the execution of multi-class disease labelling. The newly designed SSMCS approach is compared with existing U-Net++, MCS, and Semi-Inf-Net. factors such as MAE (Mean Absolute Error), Structure measure, Specificity (Spec), Dice Similarity coefficient, Sensitivity (Sen), and Enhance-Alignment Measure are considered for evaluation purpose. 2022 Tech Science Press. Detection and localization for watermarking technique using LSB encryption for DICOM Image
Watermarking is an effective way of transferring hidden data from one place to another, or proving ownership of digital content. The hidden data can be text, audio, images GIF etc., the data is embedded in a cover object usually an image or a video sequence. Usually the watermarking system(s) rely on their hidden aspect, as their primary security measure, once this is established that the cover object is counting some hidden data, then it is generally possible to recover the hidden information. The author proposed an in-genuine technique for DICOM color image water marking by combining Multi Quadrant LSB with truly random mixed key cryptography. This system provides a high level of security by just the water marking technique, as it breaks the cover image into up to four quadrants, & does LSB replacement of two bytes each quadrant. The bit sequence as the quadrant sequence can be randomized to increase the randomness, use of truly random mixed key cryptography, by using a pre shared, variable length, truly random, private key, turns hidden data into noise, which can only be recovered by having the private key. Thus, the proposed technique truly diminishes the probability of recovering hidden data, even if it is detected that something is hidden in cover object. 2022 Taru Publications. -
Structural equation based model to investigate the moderating effect of fear of COVID using partial least square method
This study assesses the magnitude of work life integration among health care workers with the help of positive psychology constructs in COVID-19 crisis. The effect of optimistic approach and sense of belongingness is studied on the performance-oriented healthcare workers and how it influenced their withdrawal cognition. The moderating effect of fear of corona disease is also analysed on performance orientor and withdrawal cognition. Empirical data derived through face-to-face interactions of 357 health care professionals using partial least squares-structural equation modelling PLS-SEM 3.3.3 provides the detailed analysis of the model (measurement and structural). The results indicate that optimistic approach and sense of belongingness contribute towards performance-oriented health care work with R2 value of 79% (? =.533; t = 7.042; p< 0.00) and (? =.0.391; t = 5.43; p< 0.00) respectively. Performance orientor show negative relation with withdrawal cognition (? = -0.122.; t = 2.11; p< 0.00) and R2-value of 74.8%. The moderation effect of fear of corona disease shows negative affect on performance orientor (? = -0.044.; t = 26.10; p< 0.01); R2-value of 79.3% and positive interaction on the withdrawal cognition (? = 0.844; t = 38.42; p< 0.00) and R2-value of 76.4%. 2022 Taru Publications. -
A simple and efficient synthesis of imidazoquinoxalines and spiroquinoxalinones via pictect-spengler reaction using Wang resin
An efficient approach for the synthesis of various imidazoquinoxalines and spiroquinoxalinones has been reported from 2-(1H-imidazol-1-yl) aniline and different aldehydes using Wang-OSO3H as a reusable catalyst to get in good yields. The reaction condition has been optimized by screening in various solvents and a gram scale experiment has also demonstrated. Green accounting and its application: A study on reporting practices of environmental accounting in India
Green Accounting is an important device for understanding the role of business ventures in the economy towards environmental security and welfare. It is a well-known term for environment and natural resources accounting. Many companies all over the world have initiated the practices of making environmental disclosures in their annual reports. However, these practices are still largely voluntary in nature. The objective of this research paper is to study the environment-related disclosures of companies taken from Nifty 50 based on the summary of Global Reporting Standards. Content Analysis, both sector-wise and keyword-wise is used on the annual reports of 29 sample companies using MAXQDA software. Plant Identification Using Fitness-Based Position Update in Whale Optimization Algorithm
Since the beginning of time, humans have relied on plants for food, energy, and medicine. Plants are recognized by leaf, flower, or fruit and linked to their suitable cluster. Classification methods are used to extract and select traits that are helpful in identifying a plant. In plant leaf image categorization, each plant is assigned a label according to its classification. The purpose of classifying plant leaf images is to enable farmers to recognize plants, leading to the management of plants in several aspects. This study aims to present a modified whale optimization algorithm and categorizes plant leaf images into classes. This modified algorithm works on different sets of plant leaves. The proposed algorithm examines several benchmark functions with adequate performance. On ten plant leaf images, this classification method was validated. The proposed model calculates precision, recall, F-measurement, and accuracy for ten different plant leaf image datasets and compares these parameters with other existing algorithms. Based on experimental data, it is observed that the accuracy of the proposed method outperforms the accuracy of different algorithms under consideration and improves accuracy by 5%. 2022 Tech Science Press. Bacterial diversity of geochemically distinct hot springs located in Maharashtra, India
Bacterial diversity of four thermally different hot springs of Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra, India, was investigated using culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches. A total of 144 bacterial cultures were isolated and identified using MALDI-TOF MS (matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry) and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Culture-independent analysis by Ion Torrent sequencing targeting the V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene revealed the predominance of Firmicutes across all the hot springs, followed by Chloroflexi, Bacteroidetes, Cyanobacteria, Proteobacteria, Armatimonadetes, Actinobacteria, Nitrospirae, Acidobacteria, and DeinococcusThermus, with subtle differences in their abundance. At the lower taxonomic rank of genus, we noted the prevalence of Acinetobacter followed by Clostridium, Planomicrobium, Bacillus, Streptomyces, and Leptolyngbya. Metagenomics imputation using in silico approach revealed divergence in the metabolic capabilities of bacterial communities along the thermal gradient of host springs, with site TS (63C) featuring the abundant functional gene families. 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature. -
Challenges To Democratic Consolidation In Ecuador - Space For Opposition And Indigenous Representation Under Rafael Correa And Lenin Moreno
The illiberal democratic trend currently sweeping the world has emerged as a major obstacle for democratic consolidation, leading to its acceptance as the new normal of democracy. This trend has been successfully reversed in Ecuador, but the country has encountered and still grapples with several obstacles that must be overcome in order to return to the democratic consolidation route. The study focuses on the issues of consolidation, emphasizing the space allotted for participatory democracy by the ruling elites. The study examines Rafael Correas and Lenin Morenos governments in the context of the democratic consolidation framework to determine their strategic actions, behavior, and interests. Job Crafting: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analytical Relationships with Precursors and Work Outcomes (2001-2021)
Meta-analysis and SEM (structural equation modeling) were used to investigate the relationship between job crafting, job characteristics, work engagement, and job performance. We used random effects of meta-analysis to statistically integrate 199 primary studies and structural equation modeling to examine the assumed moderation through gender and educational levels using Stata: Version 16.0 software. We also ran an exploratory moderator analysis to see any systematic differences in the relationships. The findings revealed that job performance and job characteristics were positively and significantly related at the 1% level, as were job performance, job crafting, and work engagement. All were positively and significantly related at the 1% level. Work engagement and job crafting, too, were positively correlated and statistically significant at the 1% level. Furthermore, p < 0.05 for gender and p < 0.10 for educational level indicated that educational level and gender moderated the relationship between job performance, work engagement, job characteristics, and job crafting significantly. Cronbachs alpha was used to conduct the reliability test, which indicated a good (0.8 < a < 0.9) and excellent (0.9 < a) internal consistency because Cronbachs alpha was more significant than the 0.6 thresholds, and the validity indicated that the model was adequate. 2022, Associated Management Consultants Pvt. Entropy generation analysis of radiative heat transfer in Williamson fluid flowing in a microchannel with nonlinear mixed convection and Joule heating
In this article, the spectral quasi-linearization (SQLM) method is implemented to solve the complicated differential equations governing the nonlinear mixed convective heat transfer of a Williamson fluid through a vertical microchannel. Unlike the conventional Boussinesq approximation, the quadratic Boussinesq approximation is taken into account in the formulation. The effects of Rosseland thermal radiation, Joule heating, and viscous dissipation are described in the thermal analysis subjected to the boundary conditions of convective thermal heating. The analysis of entropy production is also performed. The importance of various parameters governing velocity, Bejan number, temperature, and entropy generation was explored using graphic illustrations. It was found that the nonlinear density change with a temperature significantly affects the heat transport in the microchannel and thus increases the magnitude of the Bejan number and the production of entropy. Entropy production occurs maximum due to the boundary conditions of convection heating at the walls of the microchannel. Furthermore, due to a stronger viscous heating mechanism, the magnitude of the Bejan number is reduced, while the production of entropy increases significantly. As a limiting case of the problem, a comparison was made with results previously published in the literature and excellent agreement was established. The calculations provide a solid reference point for future CFD models and are relevant to the dynamics of polymers in microfluidic devices and the polymer industries. IMechE 2022. -
Factors Influencing Consumer Purchasing Behaviour Towards Purchase of Palm Leaf Craft
The handicraft sector plays a significant role in providing employment opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas of the country. It helps in generating substantial income for the artisans. The uses for palm leaves are abundant. Attractive items made of Palm Leaves are very popular in South India, mostly in Southern Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. However, to generate sustainable revenue through their products, the artisans need to understand the buyers requirements. This study aims to understand the consumers purchasing behavior when buying palm leaf products. The sample consists of 233 consumers with diverse backgrounds from the state of Tamil Nadu, India. A questionnaire was developed to measure awareness and attitude influence while purchasing palm leaf products. The results can help the artisans to get an insight into end-user expectations and requirements toward palm leaf products and suggest strategies to increase the income of artisans. 2022 Taylor & Francis. -
An Empirical Model for Geopolymer Reactions Involving Fly Ash and GGBS
Numerous works are reported in literature regarding the enhancement of compressive strength of fly ash-GGBS geopolymer combinations with addition of alkali activators of varying concentrations. However, a limited study has been chronicled, revealing the specific role of alkali or alkaline earth contributed by the fly ash-GGBS combinations on the compressive strength development. It is well known that the strength of a geopolymer is dependent on gel formation from Al/Si ratio, Ca/Si ratio, and Ca/(Si + Al) ratio but their exact role when cured for various extended periods is unknown as yet. In the present study, alkali concentration in a fly ash-GGBS geopolymer combination was varied from 6 M to 12 M with increments of two mol in six different fly ash-GGBS combinations with a minimum of 20 percent and a maximum of 70 percent GGBS. The correlation coefficients between compressive strength and Al/Si, Ca/Si, and Ca/(Si + Al) ratios exhibited values higher than 0.95 taken individually. Multiple linear regression analysis with compressive strength (as dependent parameter) and individual values of Al/Si, Ca/Si, and Ca/(Si + Al) ratios (as independent parameters) was effectuated. It was observed that, depending on the composition, the compressive strength circumstantiated a changeover from Ca/Si to Ca/(Si + Al) ratio in the intermediate composition range. A Framework for Integrating the Distributed Hash Table (DHT) with an Enhanced Blooms Filter in MANET
MANET, a self-organizing, infrastructure-less, wireless network is a fast-growing technology in day-to-day life. There is a rapid growth in the area of mobile computing due to the extent of economical and huge availability of wireless devices which leads to the extensive analysis of the mobile ad-hoc network. It consists of the collection of wireless dynamic nodes. Due to this dynamic nature, the routing of packets in the MANET is a complex one. The integration of distributed hash table (DHT) in MANET is performed to enhance the overlay of routing. The node status updating in the centralized hash table creates the storage overhead. The bloom filter is a data structure that is a space-effective randomized one but it allows the false-positive rates. However, this can be able to compensate for the issue of storage overhead in DHT (Distributed hash table). Hence, to overcome the storage overhead occurring in DHT, and reduce the false positives, the Bloom's filter is integrated with the DHT initially. Furthermore, the link stability is measured by the distance among mobile nodes. The optimal node selection should be done for the transmission of packets which is the lacking factor. If it fails to select the optimal path then the removal of malicious nodes may lead to the unwanted entry of nodes into the other clustering groups. Therefore, to solve this problem, the bloom's filter is modified for enhancing the link stability. Evaluating the usability of mhealth applications on type 2 diabetes mellitus using various mcdm models
The recent developments in the IT world have brought several changes in the medical industry. This research work focuses on few mHealth applications that work on the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by the patients on their own. Looking into the present doctor-to?patient ratio in our country (1:1700 as per a Times of India report in 2021), it is very essential to develop self?management mHealth applications. Thus, there is a need to ensure simple and user-friendly mHealth applications to improve customer satisfaction. The goal of this study is to assess and appraise the usability and effectiveness of existing T2DM?focused mHealth applications. TOP? SIS, VIKOR, and PROMETHEE II are three multi?criteria decision?making (MCDM) approaches considered in the proposed work for the evaluation of the usability of five existing T2DM mHealth applications, which include Glucose Buddy, mySugr, Diabetes: M, Blood Glucose Tracker, and OneTouch Reveal. The methodology used in the research work is a questionnaire?based evaluation that focuses on certain attributes and sub?attributes, identified based on the features of mHealth applications. CRITIC methodology is used for obtaining the attribute weights, which give the pri-ority of the attributes. Self-esteem and self-efficacy among HIV-positive adolescents: an intervention study
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to understand the impact of comprehensive intervention program on self-esteem and self-efficacy among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive adolescents. Material and methods: Participants of the research were perinatally HIV-infected adolescent boys and girls, currently living in HIV care and support center. The study adopts a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. Sample consisted of 97 adolescents (47 boys and 50 girls). Self-esteem was assessed using Morris Rosenbergs (1965) self-esteem scale, and self-efficacy was assessed using general self-efficacy scale (GSE) (1995) by Ralf Schwarzer & Matthias Jerusalem. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant improvement in the level of self-esteem and self-efficacy among participants of experimental group and no such improvement would be noticed in control group. Group intervention was conducted for experimental group focusing on four domains physical, cognitive, affective, and social, for 44 hours spread over 6 months. Comprehensive intervention was implemented through innovative expressive strategies. Participants were assessed pre and post-intervention. Results were analyzed using correlated t-test for self-esteem and Wilcoxon signed-rank test for self-efficacy scores. Results: There is a significant improvement in the level of self-esteem (t = 21.154; p < 0.001) and self-efficacy (z = 6.036; p < 0.001) post-intervention in the experimental group, and no such improvement was observed on both the variables in control group. Conclusions: The current study reveal that post-intervention there is a significant improvement in the level of self-esteem and self-efficacy among HIV-positive adolescents. 2022 Termedia Publishing House Ltd.. Removal of cadmium heavy metal ion using recycled black toner powder
The presence of heavy metal ions in the industrial effluents is considered as a major threat to humans and to the ecosystem. Among the available various types of heavy metal ions, cadmium is widely used in many industrial applications and is also considered as the hazardous heavy metal ion even in low level of concentration. In this present work, an attempt has been made to utilize the recycled black toner powder as a low cost adsorption material in the removal of toxic cadmium heavy metal ion. Batch adsorption technique was used for the removal of cadmium heavy metal ion. The experiments were conducted by varying the pH values from 3, 5 and 7, contact time from 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 min and the dosage of the adsorbent from 2, 4, 6 and 8 g/L. Experimental results shows that the cadmium heavy metal ions were effectively removed for pH value of 5 and increasing the adsorbent dosage doesn't aid in increasing the adsorption rate. Rapid adsorption of cadmium heavy metal ions was observed only during the first 30 min of contact time and it reached equilibrium after contact time of 45 min. 2021 -
A novel optimised method for speckle reduction in medical ultrasound images
The advancement of medical imaging techniques evolving from X-ray to PET images and the medical image analysis helped medical experts to detect, diagnose and offer treatments for complex disorders and deadly diseases in the human body. Among the various modalities used, Ultrasound imaging is the most widely accepted modality because of its affordability, non-invasive nature and various other features. But the presence of speckle noise in ultrasound image lowers the image quality and reduces diagnostic value. This article states an improved hybrid speckle noise reduction method, a combined application of Kuan and non-local means filters. In this method, Kuan filter is used to sharpen the edges and thereafter the speckle noise elimination is done by using the non-local means. In addition, the performance of the proposed hybrid filter and its design parameters are optimised by using a meta-heuristic called grey wolf optimiser. The performance of hybrid method is evaluated by analysing a chosen set of well-known post filtering methods used for speckle reduction with given ultrasound B-mode images. The comparison of test results using remarkable performance metrics and computation time demonstrate that the hybrid method can be used as the efficient speckle reduction method for image analysis. A versatile approach based on convolutional neural networks for early identification of diseases in tomato plants
Agriculture is one of the primary occupations in many countries. Tomatoes are grown by many farmers in countries where the water resource is available in abundance. Improper methods of cultivation and failure to identify the diseases when it is in the nascent stage results in the reduction of crop yield thus affecting the outcome of cultivation. This paper proposes a novel method of early identification of diseases in tomato plants by making use of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and image processing. Dataset from an open repository was considered for training and testing and the algorithm was capable of identifying nine different varieties of diseases that affect the tomato plant at its early stages. The images of tomato leaves were fed for identification through processing and classification. An optimum model was developed by analyzing various architectures of CNN including the VGG, ResNet, Inception, Xception, MobileNet and DenseNet. The performance of each of these architectures was compared and various metrics like the accuracy, loss, precision, recall and area under the curve (AUC) were analyzed. 2022 World Scientific Publishing Company.
