Four Alternative Scenarios of Commons in Space: Prospects and Challenges
The rapid expansion of human activities in outer space is likely to bring new economic, social, and political dilemmas in the next 50 to 100 years. Future governance will have to increasingly juggle earth-space social justice, resource trade-offs, and environmental sustainability issues. This poses new challenges to the governance of global commons, i.e. whether existing studies are fit to address commons in a global context and whether the governance of outer space commons (dis)integrates with Earth-bound sustainability governance. To explore these questions, this study uses scenario-building techniques to generate alternative future scenarios via a workshop conducted during the 2022 Commons in Space conference. We derived four future scenarios based on two major contextual conditions: (i) the degree of equity in resource distribution in space, and (ii) the degree of integration with Earth-bound sustainability, more specifically Earth system governance. The four alternative scenarios are (i) Space Cartel in which the use of space resources becomes dominated by the rich and powerful; (ii) Earth-centric Gold Rush in which the current business as usual continues; (iii) Open Space (also Space Utopia) in which open access of space resources leads to thriving developments in space at the expense of sustainability on Earth; and finally, (iv) Earth-Space Sustainability in which challenges on Earth and in space are addressed through an integrative governance model. Based on the challenges identified from these scenarios, we discuss specific as well as cross-cutting implications for policy and governance to better address commons in space in the future. 2023 The Author(s). -

Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the factors that influence work life balance of women entrepreneurs in the field of agriculture and allied products and how the family demands affect their work-life balance. Further, the paper explores the conflict between parental demand and running a business. Theoretical framework: Literature review points out that despite, an increase in the number of women entrepreneurs over the years, according to the (Global entrepreneurship monitor report, 2020), fewer women pursue entrepreneurship due to various challenges of managing personal and business responsibilities and striking the right balance. Work-life balance is frequently examined in the context of human resource management (Etienne St-Jean and Duhamel M.,2020)but not much has been explored in an entreprenurial context.Hence this study is to investigate and understand the influence of various factors affecting work life balance from an entrepreneurial standpoint. Design/methodology/approach: Triangulation method was used for the study by utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data. The researchers developed a questionnaire to measure work-life balance experienced by women entrepreneurs with 12 independent variables to measure the dependent variable work-life balance. The sample consisted of 450 women agripreneurs Findings: The findings reveal that the age of the children is a major determinant of the extent of parental demand a woman goes through in her life and family support systems are critical in reducing overlap and conflict between the life domains. A positive spillover between the domains significantly enhances quality of life of women entrepreneurs. Research, Practical & Social implications: We suggest a future research into other Personality traits and macro environmental factors which can have a bearing on work life balance of women entrepreneurs which would enable an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. Originality/value: The researchers have concluded that positive spillover between the domains significantly enhances quality of life of women entrepreneurs. 2022 The authors. -
Fr. James Filella
Fr. Filella delved into Jungs key concepts relating to the psyche and mandala symbolism, organized into four insightful sections. He began with Directed versus Non-directed Thinking, clarifying that directed thinking aims for precise communication and reduced ambiguity in expressing experiences. Next, he explored The Unconscious as a Collective Force, recounting Jungs profound personal crisis post-Freud, which catalysed his self-discovery journey through unconscious engagement. The third section focuses on The Process of Individuation, highlighting mandalas, described as potent geometric circles in Hinduism, representing the psyches expression of wholeness. Lastly, Fr. Filella extended the discussion to psycho-social dimensions, integrating Maslows dual-view of human needssecurity and self-expressionas essential for growth, with the matrix models psychological dimension emphasizing vitality as a vital balance between security and freedom. The social dimensions address group dynamics as critical to personal development. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Braj Bhushan; individual chapters, the contributors. -
Fr. Joachim M. Fuster (19142011)
This chapter discusses the training received by Fr. Joachim M. Fuster in the Carkhuffian model of counselling, specifically the integration of the 1969 and 1977 models as taught by Robert R. Carkhuff at the Carkhuff Institute of Human Technology. The focus was on applying these principles in the Indian context, emphasizing the importance of understanding behaviour change in personal counselling and human resource development. Two primary methods for facilitating behavioural change were manipulation, as utilized by behaviourists, and fostering insight in clients. Effective counselling requires merging these approaches to ensure that understanding informs action, enhancing the relevance of counselling goals for the client. It outlines that the counselling process involves a progression through three distinct stages. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Braj Bhushan; individual chapters, the contributors. -

FRA-CDS-VDAX based credit crash model: A German conundrum
Often credit crash opens up the glaring research warts in finding credit pits. Robust German credit and interest rate derivative market have been under scrutiny to develop credit crash predictor by effective utilisation of a cobbled methodology encompassing various research tools (such as econometric, mathematical and machine-learning etc.) and the logical trio, namely forward rate agreement (FRA), credit default swap (CDS) and volatility index constructed on CBOE methodology (VDAX). Though setting up VDAX predictor is the first objective, yet the cross-dependence of various derivatives, threshold finding for sudden change (steep) in VDAX and linking the results with real life events remain the secondary objectives. The results point out a clear threshold for detecting credit pit and a prominent behavioural trace as well. Serials Publications Pvt. Ltd. -
Fractional and memory effects on wave reflection in pre-stressed microstructured solids with dual porosity
The present work investigates the influence of fractional-order derivative and memory-dependent derivative on the behavior of various waves reflected at the free surface of a size-dependent, pre-stressed, microstructured thermoelastic solid with a dual porosity framework. A generalized MooreGibsonThomson (MGT) model, incorporating higher-order terms and memory effects, is adopted to describe the complex heat transfer behavior within the material. A nonlocal framework based on Eringen's theory is utilized to derive the basic relations of the considered medium. An examination of the non-dimensionalized governing equations is conducted employing the normal mode technique to provide accurate solutions. The research demonstrates the presence of six separate wave modes that travel at varying speeds within the medium. The energy and amplitude ratios of reflected waves are determined by applying suitable boundary conditions. The influence of varying incidence angles on the reflected wave energy distribution is investigated numerically and visualized using MATLAB software. The study reveals that the energy ratios of the reflected waves are sensitive to the fractional-order parameter, kernel functions, initial stress, and nonlocality parameter. The analysis suggests a conservative reflection process, indicating minimal energy loss during reflection. Key findings and their implications for relevant scenarios are presented in the conclusion. Comparisons with existing models for certain cases demonstrate good agreement, supporting the validity of the present model. 2025 Elsevier Masson SAS -

Fractional approach for a mathematical model of atmospheric dynamics of CO2 gas with an efficient method
In the present work, we find the series solution for the system of fractional differential equations describing the atmospheric dynamics of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas using the q-homotopy analysis transform method (q-HATM). The analyzed model consists of a system of three nonlinear differential equations elucidating the dynamics of human population and forest biomass in the atmosphere to the concentration of CO2 gas. In the current study, we consider Caputo-Fabrizio (CF) fractional operator and the considered scheme is graceful amalgamations of Laplace transform with q-homotopy analysis technique. To present and validate the effectiveness of the hired algorithm, we examined the considered system in terms of fractional order. The existence and uniqueness are demonstrated by using the fixed-point theory. The accomplished consequences illustrate that the considered scheme is highly methodical and very efficient in analyzing the nature of the system of arbitrary order differential equations in daily life. 2021 Elsevier Ltd -

Fractional Approach for Belousov-Zhabotinsky Reactions Model with Unified Technique
The Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction model represents chemical oscillators that exhibit periodic vibrations as a result of complex physic-chemical phenomena. The non-linear behaviour exhibited by Belousov-Zhabotinsky model is the cause of Turing patterns, birth of spiral waves, rise of limit cycle attractors, and deterministic chaos in many chemical reaction processes. Due to these noteworthy characteristics, in this paper, we have analyzed mathematical Belousov-Zhabotinsky model by a novel numerical approach q-Homotopy analysis transformation method. To interpret new observations, we have incorporated Caputo fractional derivative in the model. The numerical result are presented graphically and concerning the absolute error of solutions. With the help of the homotopy parameter curve, we have projected the convergence region with reference to diverse values of fractional derivative. This work establishes that the projected numerical algorithm is a well-organized tool to analyze the multifaceted coupled partial differential equation representing Belousov-Zhabotinsky type reactions. 2024 NSP Natural Sciences Publishing Cor.
