PERCEPTION OF RETAILERS ON ADOPTING GESTURE CONTROLLED INTERACTIVE ADVERTISING AND DIGITAL DISPLAYS IN INDIA
In the advertising world, everything from billboards, to taxi signs to supermarket displays are going digital. Interactive floor advertising in malls is all the rage, especially in Western and Far East countries. Retailers across the world have been investing on gesture controlled interactive visual display systems to stand out from the crowd and turn their retail locations into a destination for customers. They use it as a means for sophisticated marketing solutions, such as, product advertising, retail merchandising, point-of-sale promotions, campaigning etc, resulting in transformation of retail customer experience. Such interactive elements not only help drive traffic to the desired location and keep visitors there for longer, but also help drive core business philosophies and return on investments. Well, all these are quite appealing to anyone in the retail business to bounce and invest with a hope to harvest, but, it has not gained as much coerce as one would expect with Indian retailers. So, it would be prudent to find their perception towards adopting this innovative marketing strategy. It is intended that the findings of this research, about the perceptions of adopting gesture controlled interactive advertising and digital displays, will be useful to retailers, consumer packaged goods organizations, distributors, mall owners, advertising agencies etc. It would help them to assess their current marketing strategies and to gain knowledge of pros and cons of incorporating this innovative form of advertising. These findings could also be used for any corrections to the investments already made in this area. The rest of the content in this report details out the research conducted in this regard followed by a conclusion. The first chapter introduces to the research topic, justifies & highlights the problem poser and the goal of the work presented in the dissertation. It also highlights the significant contributions from the investigation. The second chapter presents a critical appraisal of the previous work published in the literature pertaining to the topic of the investigation. The chapter three discusses the problem statement, overall methodology used in order to achieve the objectives of this research, present the sample characteristics, development of measurement instrument, pilot study, research variables, data collection procedure and finally the scope and limitations of the study. The fourth chapter is the penultimate chapter of the dissertation and includes a thorough evaluation of the investigation carried out. It focuses on the detailed analysis of the data obtained from the field from different retailers. Finally, the fifth chapter provides a brief report of the work carried out forms the first part of the Chapter. Conclusions derived from the logical analysis is presented and clearly enumerated. Response Surface Methodology-Optimized FL0.1@ZIF-8 Fluorescent Probe for High-Throughput Capsaicin Analysis in Chili Products
Capsaicinoids are a group of naturally occurring organic compounds responsible for the pungency of chili. This study aimed at exploring a novel approach with multivariate-assisted Response Surface MethodologyBox Behnken Design (RSM-BBD) optimized fluorescent probe (FL0.1@ZIF-8) for the detection of capsaicin. The probe was solvothermally synthesized and characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM to confirm the successful incorporation of fluorescein (FL) into ZIF-8. The experimental parameters, including pH, concentration of the probe, and reaction time, were systematically optimized via RSM-BBD to enhance the sensitivity of FL0.1@ZIF-8. The results demonstrated a quenching response of FL0.1@ZIF-8 emission with capsaicin. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were calculated and found to be 1.5 ?M and 4.9 ?M, respectively. The outcome of the study identifies efficient electronic factors as major contributors to the development of FL0.1@ZIF-8 with promising possibilities for the detection of chili hotness for food pungency evaluation, quality control, and assurance in the food industry. 2026 American Chemical Society -
EFFECT OF CORIOLIS FORCE AND NON UNIFORM BASIC TEMPERATURE GRADIENT ON THE ONSET OF RAYLEIGH BENARD CONVECTION IN SECOND ORDER FLUID WITH GENERAL BOUNDARY CONDITION
The effect of coriolis force and non uniform basic temperature gradient on the onset of Rayleigh B??nard convection in Second order fluid with general boundary conditions are studied using the Galerkin technique. The effects of one linear and five nonlinear basic temperature gradients are studied on the onset of convection. A linear stability analysis is performed. The influence of various parameters on the onset of convection has been analyzed and their comparative influence on onset is discussed. The study of the problem with general boundary conditions for velocity and temperature indicates that the results of the previous studies for different boundary conditions are obtained as limiting cases for the present studies. -
Morphology of interstellar medium using multi-wavelength obervations
The interstellar medium (ISM) is the matter that exists between the stars in a galactic system. The structure and composition of a galaxy can be understood by a study of the ISM. Our Galaxy is the only place where the observations of the ISM can be resolved and studied in great detail. There are various archived observations from space-based and ground based telescopes spanning a large region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Combining these different observations with one another will help to study the ISM on a large scale. We have compiled some such observations and analyzed the column density data, to study the ISM and make the database available to the scientific community for further investigations. The data was taken from papers published over a span of 60 years (1951 to 2010). The column densities in these papers were derived using different methods and observations from various telescopes operating in different wavelengths. We compiled these diverse data into a single catalogue and analysed the data. We studied the correlations between the line of sight gas and dust and reported new correlations not published before (APJS, 119(1), 8, 2012). We also studied the spatial distribution of the interstellar gas and dust and have estimated the corresponding exponential vertical scale heights. There also exists a wide range of photometric data from various telescopes which can be combined to cover a large range of wavelengths. We have made use of Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) photometric data in conjunction with Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data to obtain the point sources observed by both missions. GALEX observed in two bands simultaneously, the far-ultraviolet (FUV: 1350 1750 and the near-ultraviolet (NUV: 1750 - 2750 , while SDSS observed in five bands u, g, r, i and z, with effective wavelengths ranging from 3551 to 8931 GALEX and SDSS together provide photometric data ranging from the far-ultraviolet to the near-infrared. -
Study on nonlinear convective flow of hybrid nanofluids in an annulus
In this modern fluid field technology, hybrid nanofluids are of great interest to researchers due to their improved thermal properties which provide a superior improvement in heat transfer compared to nanofluids. The hybrid nanofluid flow in an annular geometry finds its relevance in engineering and material manufacturing processes such as heat exchangers, nuclear power plants, hot rolling, and heat storage systems due to their high heat transport rate. Since these devices are operated at moderate and very high temperatures adopting linear Boussinesq approximation becomes inappropriate. Owing to this, the present research is devoted to the study of flow, heat, and mass transport characteristics of hybrid nanofluid in an annulus including the effects of radial/transversal magnetic field, thermal radiation, exponential space-related heat source, uniform/non-uniform heat source and variable thermophysical properties under the nonlinear Boussinesq approximation. The fundamental equations are obtained from the laws of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy. The dimensionless governing nonlinear equations are treated analytically/numerically. Further, the sensitivity analysis using response surface methodology (RSM) is performed to enhance the understanding of heat and mass transport behavior. The significance of various flow parameters (involving in the problem) on the flow structure, thermal model, concentration field, heat, and mass transport rate are analysed through 2D/3D-surface plots and discussed quantitatively. -
Cryptocurrency Conundrum: Understanding the Dynamics of Indian Consumer Intentions using an Extended UTAUT Model
This study aims to identify what drives cryptocurrency usage in Indian consumers. At a time when the whole world is warming up to the idea of cryptocurrencies, India has only recently come on the map after demonetization. This has left Indian cryptocurrency companies groping in the dark regarding truly understanding Indian consumers and their preference for cryptocurrencies. Thus, to achieve the purpose of this study, we administered an online survey and studied only those respondents who were Indian citizens and had ever bought or sold cryptocurrencies before. Then, we performed factor analysis by analyzing responses to the questions of our UTAUT model using SPSS and PLS Smart. The results showed that the best predictor of cryptocurrency was using the construct Access to Knowledge/News, implying that Indian consumers use of cryptocurrencies was directly proportional to the ease and availability of accurate information about cryptocurrencies. 2025 The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte. Enhanced mother optimization algorithm-based optimal reconfiguration to accommodate emerging electric vehicle demand
Radial configuration and high x/r ratio branches in electrical distribution systems (EDSs) result in significant power losses and diminished stability margins. Optimal network reconfiguration (ONR) is a highly flexible solution methodology for addressing these challenges. The identification of optimal branches or tie lines to modify their on/off status in relation to multiple objectives under radial constraints constitutes a complex optimization challenge. This paper presents a novel variant of the mother optimization algorithm (MOA) that incorporates dynamic learning techniques for the optimal placement and sizing of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to enhance distribution system loadability. The proposed modifications enhanced the overall performance of the algorithm by improving the exploration and exploitation characteristics. This leads to superior global best results and faster convergence than with other competitive algorithms when addressing complex optimization problems. In addition, an enhanced mother optimization algorithm (EMOA) is employed to address the ONR problem in 7-, 12-, 33-, 69-, and 118-bus IEEE radial systems. The losses are reduced by 44.15%, 30.07%, 33.87%, 55.72%, and 33.04% when compared to the base case across the respective test systems. Moreover, the loadability is increased in the 33-bus and 69-bus configurations by 208.75% and 177.07% for the base and optimal configurations, respectively. The results indicate the appropriateness of the ONR for enhancing the loadability to accommodate the rising penetration levels of electric vehicles (EVs) in support of sustainability. The line between online and physical retailing is blurring as retailers intend to deliver a unified experience anytime anywhere, than a mere channel specific experience. As customer expectation for seamless experience intensifies, and retailers organizational, operational and technical barriers persist, it would be vital to formulate a suitable strategy towards e levating Omni-Channel Retail Experience. Though prior studies have observed the need for realigning the strategy around blended advantages of multiple channels, there is a limited understanding with regards to Omni-Channel Capabilities influencing customer experience elements. Besides, it is challenging to adopt all the capabilities within a competitive timeframe. Thus, the importance of prioritizing these capabilities remains fairly underexplored. This research aims to close this gap by ascertaining key Omni-Channel Dimensions and Capabilities influencing experiential aspects, pertaining to Apparel and Fashion retail, which is a leading category in India. The research first employs a qualitative study to corroborate the appropriateness of the Omni-Channel constructs identified from literature review, in the context of Indian retail market, followed by a quantitative study to validate their influence on Omni- Channel Retail Experience. The research determines key capabilities and dimensions from a retailers perspective that underpin key experience elements. The findings established new knowledge in terms of top priority capabilities towards Omni- Channel adoption, and accordingly designed a novel framework termed Capability Priority Framework as a plausible approach to elevate Omni-Channel Retail Experience. The framework is an original contribution of this research serving as an accelerator for retailers to build and reinforce key Omni-Channel capabilities. The research provides a novel perspective of extending The Dialectic Theory of retailing to a modern context such as Omni-Channel. It serves as a basis for organized retailers in India to realign their strategy towards Omni-Channel adoption, as they embark on this path. Finally, it adds to the knowledge base on Omni-Channel, providing a conceptual background towards strategic retailing and further research in this domain. -
