Do Social Media Marketing Activities Help Create Masstige Brand Value of Fashion Brands Among Upper-middle-class Working Women
Upper-middle-class working women, due to their aspirational consumption behaviour, social mobility and high engagement in fashion trends, are a key segment for masstige brands. Their high involvement in social media makes it the right platform for masstige fashion brands to interact with them for elevated engagement. This study examines the impact of social media marketing activities like entertainment, interaction, trendiness, advertisements and customization on the dimensions of masstige brand value and its subsequent impact on brand loyalty and word of mouth among upper-middle-class working women. A quantitative approach was used to examine the correlation among the identified variables of the study. To analyse the projected relationships of the study, the authors examined the data by following a three-step approach: (a) exploratory factor analysis to identify underlying constructs, (b) confirmatory factor analysis to validate measurement models and (c) structural equation modelling to test hypothesized relationships. Results indicate that masstige brand value is enhanced by strategically designed social media marketing activities, strengthening brand loyalty and encouraging positive word of mouth. The findings of this study offer valuable implications for masstige fashion brands looking forward to optimizing their social media marketing strategies for building long-term consumer relationships. 2026 Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode -
Do social and environmental disclosures increase firm value evidence from indian companies
There is a clear shift in the way the companies report their performance through the communications with their stakeholders. Moving from mere profit, the companies are increasingly showing their non-financial performance in terms of sustainability and social responsibility. Companies not only want to just spend on sustainability, but also like to project their activities to gain image among the stakeholders; more often with a separate set of report called corporate sustainability report, which is based on the triple bottom-line (profit, people, and planet). This study focused on understanding the corporate social and environmental reporting trends of Indian non-financial companies and the impact on market valuation. The sample constituted of companies in the BSE-100 index and data for 5 financial years - from FY2010 to FY2014 - were used. This period was chosen as it witnessed several regulatory changes in the triple bottom line reporting in the form of new Companies Act, 2013 and Clause 55 of the listing agreement. Paired 'f' test and panel data regression model were used for analyzing the data. This study found that the level of social and environmental disclosures has significantly improved post business responsibility reporting and positively significantly influenced market valuation. -
Do Millennial Exhibit Environmentally Responsive Consumption BehaviorsA Study on Determinants of Green Purchase Decision?
The purchase behavior of green products is largely affected by the intention-action gap and skepticism present among consumers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the various factors that affect the purchase behavior of green products among millennials. The practical benefit of this research is that it will assist in the convergence of green marketing and environmental consumer behavior theories. The theory used in the study is the theory of planned behavior. It helps to understand the specific behaviors of consumers as a possibility of a particular behavioral intention. For this purpose, we identified five constructs, namely, Environmental Concerns and Belief (ECB), Eco-Labelling (EL), Green Packaging and Branding (GPB), Green Product, Premium, and Pricing (GPPP), and Consumers Beliefs Towards the Environment (CBTE). These constructs have helped in identifying and analyzing the various factors that affect the purchase behavior of green products among millennials. We analyzed the purchase behavior of green products using a questionnaire approach. For this descriptive study, there were 251 millennials as our respondents who were chosen using the convenience sampling technique. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire via Google form and was analyzed using regression analysis, correlation. It was found that the key factors of green marketing such as Environmental Concerns and Beliefs (ECB), Green Packaging and Branding (GPB), and Green Product, Premium and Pricing (GPPP) have a positive influence on Consumers Beliefs Towards the Environment (CBTE). It implies that by increasing the spending on green packaging and branding there will be a positive effect on consumers environmental beliefs. On the other hand, Eco-Labelling (EL) has a negative influence on Consumers Beliefs Towards the Environment (CBTE) and this is caused by skepticism present among millennials. 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG. -

Do Investors Tend to Overreact when Investing in Clean Energy Stock Indices?
Due to climate change, investors are increasingly interested in clean energy stocks attracting many investors due to clean energy prospects. This paper analyses investor overreactions to long-term prices in various clean energy stock indices, such as Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE), Global Clean Energy (GCEI), as well as the Dow Jones Industrials (DJI) stock index, over the period from 24 February 2022 to 23 May 2024. The results show that the Global Clean Energy (GCEI) clean energy stock index rejects H0 at the 16-day lag at a significance level of 1%; similarly, the Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) index rejects the null hypothesis at lags 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 days, both indices show negative serial autocorrelation, which means that price movements are not entirely random and are influenced by prior price movements. This evidence could mean that investors overreact to the information that reaches the market. On the other hand, the ETF (PWYF) and the Dow Jones Industrial Stock Index (DJI) show that the random walk hypothesis has not been rejected. In other words, these markets show that they are in equilibrium and that the existence of exaggerated reactions on the part of investors is not significant. The answer to the research question was partially accepted, so the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 led to the partial presence of overreactions in these stock indices. In conclusion, investors operating in these markets should exercise caution and consider their risk tolerance before investing. Investors should, therefore, continue to monitor market trends and adjust their investment strategies accordingly. 2025, Econjournals. All rights reserved. -
Do institutional quality and capital account openness affect capital flow? Evidence from Asian bond markets
Capital inflow into local bond markets helps countries with infrastructure financing, funding fiscal deficit, enhancing bond market liquidity, and diversifying investment portfolios globally. This study aims to assess the impact of institutional quality and capital account openness on capital inflow into Asian local bond markets for the period 20022023. For reflecting Asian bond markets, seven countries, namely, China, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, have been considered. The rule of law, regulatory quality, control of corruption, voice & accountability, political stability, and government effectiveness indices are the various proxies considered in this study to measure the different aspects of institutional quality. Further, the Chinn-Ito index is employed to measure capital account openness. Fixed effect, random effect, and pooled data ordinary least squares are employed as different forms of panel data estimation methods in this study. Moreover, Breusch-Pagan LM and Hausman tests are performed to select the most efficient estimation method. This study reveals that the rule of law, regulatory quality, and control of corruption have a positive influence on capital inflow at a 5% significance level and political stability at a 1% significance level. In contrast, capital account openness has a negative impact at a 1% significance level. However, neither voice & accountability nor government effectiveness have a significant influence over capital inflow. These findings suggest improving the rule of law and regulatory quality, creating policies for political stability, stringent acts against corruption, and controlling capital account openness to encourage capital inflow into local bond markets. Do geopolitical tensions instigate mindless following in stock markets? An empirical enquiry into the indices of CNX Nifty HFT
Geopolitical tensions between nations play a crucial role in triggering volatility and affecting the investors behavior in stock markets. This empirical work attempts to detect the traces of herding and bubble embedded in the Indian stock indices of CNX Nifty 50 and CNX Nifty 100 (both in High-Frequency Trading domains) during the latest events of geopolitical tensions escalated between India-China and India-Pakistan. An event window approach is employed to capture the impact of these events on herding behavior and information uncertainty in the considered stock indices. Multifractal Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (MFDFA) is applied to compute the Hurst value in all the trading days of the event window. The results of both indices exhibit conclusive evidence of herding and bubble formation during the overall period of geopolitical tensions between India-China and India-Pakistan. However, the degree of herding in the stock indices intensifies to a profound pattern when the tensions between India and China escalated into deadly violent clashes, and also during the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan that eventually ended up in airstrikes across the boundaries. The overall level of information uncertainty depicted by entropy is within control. The volatility in these stock indices has been confirmed to follow a unidirectional pattern. Krishna T. Do futures and options trading increase spot market volatility in India? the case of S&P CNX Nifty
The exponential generalised autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (EGARCH) model followed by standard GARCH (1, 1) model were employed to investigate the impact of introduction of futures and options trading on the volatility of the underlying spot market in India. The empirical analysis was conducted for the daily closing price returns of S&P CNX Nifty spot index from 1st January, 1996 through 31st October, 2008. The empirical results reveal that the spot market volatility has been declined after the introduction of futures and options trading in India. Besides, the empirical results indicate that the impact of recent news has a greater impact on the spot market changes following the onset of futures/options trading. At the same time, the persistence of volatility shocks has been declined in the post-derivatives scenario indicating increased efficiency of the Indian spot market. Hence, the present study suggests that the introduction of futures and options trading have improved the speed and quality of information flowing in the spot market. This enhances the overall market depth, increases market liquidity and ultimately reduces informational asymmetries and therefore compresses spot market volatility in India. Do Frequency of Visit and Length of Stay Alter Perceived Cognitive Destination Image? A Multivariate Approach
The Indian tourism industry is competing with global destinations through effective and lucrative strategies. Strategic destination branding is one of the finest ways of achieving the frontier. This requires careful analysis of tourists' perception and behavior from time to time and inculcate insights on the branding process. Accordingly, this research work is an extract from a major research that focused on whether the behavioral elements such as tourists' frequency of visit and length of stay to/in the destination influenced the perceived cognitive destination image. Even though literary sources indicated the connection between these factors, a void was identified in terms of the aspects of the cognitive image, specifically in the Indian context. Hence, a district in Tamil Nadu that had high tourist attractions and potentialities to serve distinct tourist motives was chosen for the study. The respondents answered a structured questionnaire that contained the necessary questions and statements on tourists' sociodemographic characteristics, frequency of visit, length of stay, and perception of the cognitive image of the destination. The sample size was rounded to 327 after data cleaning. Simple percentage analysis revealed that the highest percentage of tourists were frequent visitors and stayed in the destination for more than a week. This is a good sign for marketers to increase the tourists' inflow and invest in branding strategies. The multivariate analysis of variance technique of SPSS was employed to analyze the data. The results indicated that despite the frequency of visit and length of stay, some of the cognitive belief aspects remained unaltered. Suggestions were made to the marketers on deploying the cognitive image aspects while designing the advertisement campaigns and including the cognitive image elements in the branding process. Theoretical implications were also indicated on the outcome of this research. Also, limitations were stated in terms of the sample size, research location, and other aspects. Scope for further research was also indicated. 2021, Associated Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd. All rights reserved. -

Do economic globalization and the level of education impede poverty levels? A non-linear ARDL approach
This study empirically examines whether economic globalization reduces (enhances) the level of poverty in the top (bottom) globalized region by controlling economic growth, urbanization, government expenditure, and public expenditure on education. This issue has taken Europe and Central Asia (ECA) as the top (16) and South Asia (SA) as the bottom (7) economic globalized developing region for the empirical analysis for the period of 1991-2020. Two empirical models, non-linear ARDL and PMG-ARDL, estimate the impact of globalization (trade and financial openness) and education on poverty. This study also segregates economic globalization into de jure and de facto to critically analyze the impact on poverty reduction. The long-run results suggest that economic globalization has a negative (positive) effect on poverty in the top (bottom) globalized region. Apart from globalization, primary education is insufficient for reducing poverty in the ECA region, while primary education is enough to reduce poverty in the SA region. After replacing economic globalization with trade and financial openness, the results reveal that more trade openness is difficult for reducing poverty in top globalized developing countries. On the contrary, financial openness reduces (enhances) poverty in the top (bottom) globalized region. Additionally, the impact of de jure and de facto economic globalization are similar throughout the regions. The effects of control variables are mixed in nature. From a policy perspective, the government of these two regions should use education as a weapon to lower poverty vulnerability by improving its quality and giving extensive focus on trade and financial openness to find out the leakage of the financial flows. Do callous-unemotional traits and resilience work together or in conflict? Thriving after trauma in children
Cumulative trauma, which is devastating can lead to severe psychological outcomes. Exposure to various kinds of trauma, especially in childhood is even more harmful than the sheer volume of experience. Children experiencing cumulative trauma are at greater risk of developing callous unemotional traits. This study examined the mediating role of callous unemotional traits and the moderating role of resilience, in the association between cumulative trauma and behavioral problems among children. A survey of 314 vulnerable children, aged 13 to 17 years (girls = 167; boys = 147) was conducted at seven different institutes in Assam, India. The results indicated that the children experienced 16 different types of trauma during their developmental phases. The mediating model indicated a strong facilitating effect of callous-unemotional (CU) traits in the relationship between cumulative trauma and behavioral problems: externalizing (? =.01; p <.05); internalizing problems (? =.03; p <.01); personal adjustment (? =.03; p <.01); and school problems (? =.04; p <.01). Additionally, resilience did not moderate the association between trauma and behavioral problems. This study strengthens the evidence associating childhood cumulative trauma with an increased risk for the development of CU traits, supporting the notion that these traits could potentially reduce resilience. 2026 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. -
Do Bank Characteristics Really Matter for its Environmental Reporting?
The last few decades have seen an increasing number of researches in the area of environmental reporting. Institutions across the globe have been extensively reporting their environmental initiatives through their annual reports. There is a dearth of research on environmental reporting in the Indian context. Thus, this study comprehensively analyzes the environmental reporting practices of scheduled banks in India. It further attempts to explore the association between environmental reporting and bank characteristics. The secondary data is collected from the annual reports, sustainability reports, and business responsibility reports for the period 2017-2022. The sample consists of ten top-rated commercial banks chosen based on market capitalization during June 2022. The content analysis technique is used to extract information on environmental practices under twelve major categories. This study employs correlation analysis to examine the association between environmental reporting and bank characteristics. The findings of this study reveal that Indian commercial banks are increasingly reporting environmental information in their bank reports and websites. Further, the results of correlation analysis revealed a significant association between environmental reporting and the banks' age, size, and profitability. Further, this study recommends policymakers and concerned professional bodies introduce additional environmental guidelines and widen the scope of reporting in the banking industry. 2024 National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research. Do all shocks produce embedded herding and bubble? An empirical observation of the Indian stock market
Herding has a history of igniting large, irrational market ups and downs, usually based on a lack of fundamental support. Intuitively, most herds start with an external shock. This empirical study seeks to detect shock-induced herding and the creation of nascent bubbles in the Indian stock market. Initially, the multifractal form of the detrended fluctuation analysis was applied. Then the Reformulated Hurst exponent for the Bombay stock exchange (BSE) was determined using Kantelhardt's calibration. The investigation found evidence of high-level herding and a bubble in 2012, with a high value of Hurst Exponent (0.7349). The other years of the research period (2011, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2020-2021) observed mild to significant herding with comparatively lower Hurst values. The results confirm that herding behavior occurs during a crisis and harsh situations emitting shocks. The study concludes that shock-based herding is prevalent in all six shocks: the economic meltdown, commodities and currency devaluation, geo-political problems, the Central Bank's decision on liquidity management, and the Pandemic. Additionally, the years following the Financial Crisis and the years of the Pandemic are when herding and bubble are prominent. Tabassum Khan, Suresh G., 2022. -
DNA-based authentication to access internet of things-based healthcare data
Data security and privacy are always considered as critical aspects, especially in healthcare. The advent of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) has encouraged a great deal of attention in this digital era and helped to improve e-health services. IoT-based services in healthcare and their applications have led to potential growth of quality services in healthcare. However, the sensitive nature of healthcare data and IoT devices which store and collect real-time data makes it even more vulnerable to various attacks. With the development of digitalized data and IoT-based e-health systems, authentication mechanisms are essential to ensure both usability and security. Considering these aspects, a novel, secure user authentication scheme is proposed that uses user ID, unique ID (AADHAAR), password, DNA steganography, and hash function. An One Time Password method is also proposed to strengthen the device authentication. The Scyther tool is used for security analysis and to validate the claims. 2021 Elsevier Inc. DNA for information security: A Survey on DNA computing and a pseudo DNA method based on central dogma of molecular biology
Biology is a life science which has high significance on the quality of life and information security is that aspect for social edification, which human beings will never compromise. Both are subjects of high relevance and inevitable for mankind. So, an amalgamation of these subjects definitely turns up as utility technology, either for security or data storage and is known as Bio computing. The secure transfer of information was a major concern from ancient civilizations. Various techniques have been proposed to maintain security of data so that only intended recipient should be able to receive the message other than the sender. These practices became more significant with the introduction of the Internet. Information varies from big data to a particular word, but every piece of information requires proper storage and protection which is a major concern. Cryptography is an art or science of secrecy which protects information from unauthorized access. Various techniques evolved through years for information protection, including Ciphers, Cryptography, Steganography, Biometrics and recent DNA for security.DNA cryptography was a major breakthrough in the field of security which uses Bio-molecular concepts and gives us a new hope of unbreakable algorithms. This paper discusses various DNA based Cryptographic methods proposed till now. It also proposes a DNA symmetric algorithm based on the Pseudo DNA Cryptography and Central dogma of molecular biology. The suggested algorithm uses splicing and padding techniques along with complementary rules which make the algorithm more secure as it is an additional layer of security than conventional cryptographic techniques. 2014 IEEE.
