This chapter attempts to understand the influence of psychosocial factors on online learning during humanitarian emergencies. In recent times, online pedagogy has proved to be the need of the hour during humanitarian emergencies for undisrupted human learning of all ages. However, the role of psychosocial factors in learning is not explored in depth. This chapter explores the influence of uncertainty and change, the role of technological efficacy, motivation, and learning, the importance of cognitive factors and learning environment, and the effect of socialisation on learning. It also highlights the differences in the pedagogical experiences in online technology-based learning from ones natural setting from the institutionalised framework of face-to-face traditional formats of learning. The present chapters findings will help to comprehend the differences between the two formats and incorporate the flexible use of traditional and online formats in mainstream education.
