The Creation of Intelligent Surfaces for the Purpose of Next-Gen Wireless Networks
In preparation of the changing environment of 5th wave (5G) and prospective networks of cells, this study explores new methods to meet challenges that result from the erratic character of the communication medium. Traditionally viewed as a chance factor, the relationship between broadcast radio waves with surrounding factors lowers signal quality in modern times of wireless communications. This paper performs a full literature review on customizable autonomous surfaces (RISs) alongside their uses, stressing the chance for network managers to control radio wave features and minimize environmental spread problems. RISs allow effective control over waveform parameters, including the amplitude, phase, number, and polarization, that without needing complex encoder, decoder, or radio wave processing methods. Leveraging technical developments, metasurfaces, reflectarrays, phase shifts, and liquid crystals appear as potential options for RIS application, placing them as pioneers in the realization of 5G as well as subsequent networks. The study dives into current actions in the RIS-operated mobile phone network area and covers core research issues that deserve exploration to feed unlocking the full promise of RISs at wireless communication networks. 2024 IEEE. -
The COVID-19 vaccine preference for youngsters using promethee-ii in the ifss environment
Extensive decision-making during the vaccine preparation period is unpredictable. An account of the severity of the disease, the younger people with COVID-19 comorbidities and other chronic diseases are also at a higher risk of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this research article, the preference ranking structure for the COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for young people who have been exposed to the effects of certain chronic diseases. Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approach effectively handles this vague information. Furthermore, with the support of the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Soft Set (IFSS), the entries under the new extension of the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation-II (PROMETHEE-II) is suggested for Preference Ranking Structure. The concept of intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets is parametric in nature. IFSS suggests how to exploit an intuitionistic ambiguous input from a decision-maker to make up for any shortcomings in the information provided by the decider. The weight of the inputs is calculated under the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Weighted Average (IFWA) operator, the Simply Weighted Intuitionistic Fuzzy Average (SWIFA) operator, and the Simply Intuitionistic Fuzzy Average (SIFA) operator. An Extended PROMETHEE-based ranking, outranking approach is used, and the resultant are recommended under the lexicographic order. Its sustainability and feasibility are explored for three distinct priority structures and the possibilities of the approach. To demonstrate the all-encompassing intuitionistic fuzzy PROMETHEE approach, a practical application regarding COVID-19 severity in patients is given, and then it is compared to other existing approaches to further explain its feasibility, and the sensitivity of the preference structure is examined according to the criteria. 2021 by the authors. The correlation between work locus of control and occupational stress among team leaders working in it companies in Bangalore
Job related stress is one of the highest health risks influencing employees, regardless of the size of the organization or the work sector. Most of the researchers view stress as an interaction between the person and some environmental event or stressor. Job stressors are defined as job demands, constraints, and or opportunities and job related events or situations that might affect the individuals feelings of stress. The fact that employee stress is an increasing problem in almost all organizations has indeed been the driving force for a variety of researches on occupational stress. The literature on occupational stress recognizes its inevitability in many jobs where pressures of work begin to build up and cause adverse strain on the emotion of employees, their thought process and their physical condition. Stress vulnerability has also been major focus to determine how stress effects differently across similar jobs. During the 1980s, personality[Type A/ Type B, locus of control] was found to be related to job stressors[ work load, role conflict, lack of autonomy], job strains[ job dissatisfaction, anxiety, health complaints]. The research aims to investigate the relationship between Work locus of control and occupational stress of team leaders working in IT companies in Bangalore. The purpose of research is to study whether the team leaders have an internal or external locus of control, which in turn determines how they perceive situations and life events, and how stressed they are due to this. It was hypothesized that the higher the internal locus of control of the team leader, the lower level of occupational stress they experience and the higher the external locus of control of the team leader, the higher the level of occupational stress. A sample of 100 team leaders working in three different IT companies were examined by administering the Occupational stress index by AP Singh and AK Srivastava and Work locus of control scale by Paul E Spector. The extent of work stress was examined on its twelve sub-scales, i.e. role overload, role ambiguity, role conflict, unreasonable group and political pressure, responsibility for persons, under participation, powerlessness, poor peer relations, intrinsic impoverishment, low status, strenuous working condition and unprofitability of Occupational stress index. A structured questionnaire was designed to gather information on the socio demographic profile of the respondents. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS. The level of significance was fixed at 0.005(p<0.005). Correlational analysis reveals that team leaders with external locus of control score high on all twelve sub scales of occupational stress and team leaders with internal locus of control have low scores on all twelve sub scales of occupational stress i.e. role overload, role ambiguity, role conflict, unreasonable group and political pressure, responsibility for persons, under participation, powerlessness, poor peer relations, intrinsic impoverishment, low status, strenuous working condition and unprofitability. There is a significant difference with regard to occupational stress between team leaders with external locus of control and team leaders with internal locus of control. The correlation between occupational stress and external control was found to be positive and significant as predicted (p=<0.001). The convective heat transfer analysis of the casson nanofluid jet flow under the influence of the movement of gyrotactic microorganisms
Jet flows provide an effective mode of energy transfer or mass transfer in industrial applications. When compared to traditional cooling through convection, jet flows have high heat and mass transfer coefficients. Further, the devices equipped with jet flow provides efficient use of fluid and also offers enhanced heat and mass transfer rates. Hence in this study, the jet flow of Casson nanofluid containing gyrotactic microorganisms that stabilises the nanoparticle suspension is discussed. To control the fluid from outside external magnetic field is imposed. The model with these characteristics are useful in the appliances like coolants in automobiles, nuclear reactors, micro-manufacturing, metallurgical process etc. Such a model is created by employing PDE, which are then transformed into a system of ODE. The DTM is employed to obtain the solution to system of equations, and the results are interpreted using graphs. It is perceived that the velocity of the nanofluid flow is decreased because of the increased yield stress created by the greater values of the Casson parameter. As a result, the temperature profile is found to be increasing. Meanwhile, it is observed that for increased value of chemical reaction parameter diminishes the nanoparticle concentration. The motile density is found to decrease for increase in the Peclet number and the bioconvection Schmidt number. The Content of Heavy Metals in Cigarettes and the Impact of Their Leachates on the Aquatic Ecosystem
Smoked cigarettes and butts are the most common kind of litter around the world. The buildup of these litters has badly polluted local water bodies and their compartments, and the cumulative effect of many cigarette butts scattered in a centralized location may pose a serious hazard to living species. To understand how heavy metals are leached out into the aquatic ecosystem, researchers must analyse the behavior of the materials that make up cigarettes. Using atomic absorption spectrometry, this study evaluated the content of several metals (such as Cd, Cu, Fe, Pb, Sn, Zn, and Hg) leached from various brands of unsmoked and smoked cigarettes and cigarette butts. The findings revealed that heavy metal is more prevalent in butte. These findings indicate that cigarette litter is a major source of metal contamination in the aquatic ecosystem and that apparent leaching may increase the risk of toxicity to aquatic organisms. 2022 by the authors. The Consortium on Vulnerability to Externalizing Disorders and Addictions (c-VEDA): an accelerated longitudinal cohort of children and adolescents in India
The global burden of disease attributable to externalizing disorders such as alcohol misuse calls urgently for effective prevention and intervention. As our current knowledge is mainly derived from high-income countries such in Europe and North-America, it is difficult to address the wider socio-cultural, psychosocial context, and genetic factors in which risk and resilience are embedded in low- and medium-income countries. c-VEDA was established as the first and largest India-based multi-site cohort investigating the vulnerabilities for the development of externalizing disorders, addictions, and other mental health problems. Using a harmonised data collection plan coordinated with multiple cohorts in China, USA, and Europe, baseline data were collected from seven study sites between November 2016 and May 2019. Nine thousand and ten participants between the ages of 6 and 23 were assessed during this time, amongst which 1278 participants underwent more intensive assessments including MRI scans. Both waves of follow-ups have started according to the accelerated cohort structure with planned missingness design. Here, we present descriptive statistics on several key domains of assessments, and the full baseline dataset will be made accessible for researchers outside the consortium in September 2019. The concept of entrepreneurial ability-evidence from women in MSMEs of Karnataka state
The Indian women entrepreneurs have come a long way today from the traditional deep-rooted view of the Indian society and are predominantly found in the MSME sectors of India. To understand their growth and advancements, a proper understanding of their entrepreneurial ability with respect to their performance is of paramount importance. The objective of this study is to explore the factors of women entrepreneurial ability which impacts the successful performance of the women entrepreneurs in MSMEs of Karnataka state in India. A theoretical framework model of entrepreneurial ability developed for the study is tested with a primary data collected through a survey-questionnaire method from a sample size of 427 women entrepreneurs using a random sampling method, factor analysis and Pearson correlations. Overall the results of this study support the contention: the perceived business performances of women entrepreneurs have a significant influence on their entrepreneurial ability. The computational model of nanofluid considering heat transfer and entropy generation across a curved and flat surface
The entropy generation analysis for the nanofluid flowing over a stretching/shrinking curved region is performed in the existence of the cross-diffusion effect. The surface is also subjected to second-order velocity slip under the effect of mixed convection. The Joule heating that contributes significantly to the heat transfer properties of nanofluid is incorporated along with the heat source/sink. Furthermore, the flow is assumed to be governed by an exterior magnetic field that aids in gaining control over the flow speed. With these frameworks, the mathematical model that describes the flow with such characteristics and assumptions is framed using partial differential equations (PDEs). The bvp4c solver is used to numerically solve the system of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) that are created from these equations. The solutions of obtained through this technique are verified with the available articles and the comparison is tabulated. Meanwhile, the interpretation of the results of this study is delivered through graphs. The findings showed that the Bejan number was decreased by increasing Brinkman number values whereas it enhanced the entropy generation. Also, as the curvature parameter goes higher, the speed of the nanofluid flow diminishes. Furthermore, the increase in the Soret and Dufour effects have enhanced the thermal conduction and the mass transfer of the nanofluid. 2023, The Author(s). -

The Challenges of Blockchain Technology Adoption in the Agro-based Industries
Blockchain is one of the latest innovations in information technology, bringing a digital revolution to many industries by increasing transparency. But this technology needs to be explored a lot as of now. Agriculture supply chain management distributes agro-based products like vegetables, fruits, pulses, and cereals. This research is conducted to identify the agro-based industries' adoption of blockchain in their supply chain for achieving sustainability. The next step towards sustainable agriculture is primarily seen as blockchain-enabled agriculture. By making supply chains transparent, technology can follow products from the point of manufacture and prevent waste and inefficiency. A structured literature review helped determine the barriers to blockchain adoption in agro-based industries. This research is unique as no survey-based research on blockchain in the agriculture supply chain using structural equation modeling has been found. The seven proposed hypotheses support the blockchain challenges for adoption in agro-based industries. The challenge of gender stereotyping in Indian courts
Womens negotiations towards achieving justice are elusive due to patriarchal, cultural and caste norms. The expectation of compromise permeates Courts, even in rape cases. In spite of the prevalence of well-formulated substantive and procedural aspects of law, the constitutional promise of equality is still a distant dream for women. Intersectional factors like tradition, caste, religion and cultureall act as impediments to securing justice for women in India. In fact, gender bias plagues the criminal justice administration. This paper relies on landmark cases to demonstrate the biases exhibited by Courts, in matters of sexual assault and rape. The paper will also rely on feminist ideas to highlight the need for the law to understand the deep-rooted historical and socio-political contexts from which issues related to gender originate. The paper concludes by giving suggestions as to how gender bias can be done away with, by Courts. Law has to act as a transformative instrument if gender justice has to be achieved. Lawyers and judges should not be carried away by personal biases and prejudices and need to be socially sensitive while handling cases of crimes against women. 2022 The Author(s). The catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol using MoS2/ZnO nanocomposite
Nanocomposite MoS2/ZnO was prepared by an exfoliation process and characterized. A flower-like morphology was obtained for the hybrid where uniformly spread ZnO is stacked over thin layers of MoS2. A tight interface between the two components coupled with the energy band bending at the junction has resulted in a high activity of the composite towards the reduction of 4-nitrophenol. A complete reduction to 4-aminophenol from 4-nitrophenol took place within 15 min under the optimized conditions. The catalyst has a recyclability of six times without any perceptible decrease in the catalytic activity. 2022 The Author(s) -
The Cartesian product of wheel graph and path graph is antimagic
Suppose each edge of a simple connected undirected graph is given a unique number from the numbers 1, 2, . . ., q, where q is the number of edges of that graph. Then each vertex is labelled with sum of the labels of the edges incident to it. If no two vertices have the same label, then the graph is called an antimagic graph.
