Are you the one to stick around despite the high rate of attrition? Typical personality traits using Myers-Briggs framewor
Most employees say they have unfavourable sentiments about their organization, yet they often seem hesitant to follow through with their decision to leave. This presents a painful dichotomy for organizations that look for long term manpower solutions. This study examined the relationships between the Myers-Briggs' four personality dimensions (extraversion/introversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving) and the behaviour of employees to stick around with the organization for years even amidst a high attrition rate. After compiling all these observations, the authors propose the following five strategies for employers to take into consideration: Leveraging the power of belongingness, form addictive positive work environment, capitalise on the spillover effect, communicate with either the heart or the head, andprioritise having experiences above an employee status. This research will offer an introspection to both employees and the employers. 2023, IGI Global. All rights reserved. -
From resistance to readiness: Leveraging neuroscience perspectives for successful change management in the manufacturing sector
Change initiatives often encounter resistance from employees, impeding successful implementation. Leveraging insights from neuroscience can provide valuable guidance in navigating this resistance and promoting readiness for change. Social experiences in a work environment affect the brain positively or negatively. By understanding the brain's response to change, change managers can create a supportive environment and communicate accordingly. This study examines the impact of social experiences on readiness to change among employees in the manufacturing sector from a neuroscience perspective. SCARF is a neuroscience-based model that evaluates five dimensions of social experiences such as status, certainty, autonomy, relatedness, and fairness. This quantitative study is based on data collected from different manufacturing organisations. The results of this study provide insights into how change managers can address these social domains to promote successful change initiatives and improve employee readiness to change. 2023 by IGI Global. Lilliputians' dilemma: Survival strategies of small states in South Asia
One of the most striking features of contemporary international politics is asymmetrical power relations among states. With the birth of the United Nations, the sovereign equality of the states began to be fully respected, at least in principle. During the Cold War, small states gained much importance when superpowers tried to co-opt them. Small states situated in specific geo-strategic areas were seen as 'assets' or 'trouble spots' depending on their ideological leaning. 1 Given the fact that small states constitute majority in terms of numbers in global politics, but at the same time facing numerous politico-security and economic issues, several interesting questions arise. Do small states feel secured in regional and international politics dominated by big and middle powers? What survival strategies do they adopt to secure themselves? How does this translate to South Asian region that is commonly viewed as 'India-dominant'? Do small states of South Asia follow similar or differing strategies to safeguard their security? South Asia offers a right case to look at the issue of survival strategies of small states in regional politics from both theoretical and empirical contexts. 2024 selection and editorial matter, Adluri Subramanyam Raju and R. The role of big data in predicting consumer behavior
Consumer behavior prediction is a significant task, and it is a prerequisite for marketing activities. Regardless of the product type/market type, predicting consumer behavior plays a vital role in determining the target market. The activities involved in identifying a target market include the tasks of analyzing the offerings, conducting market research, identifying market segments to create consumer profiles, and assessing the competition. In order to complete all four tasks mentioned above, it needs to have comprehensive and precise data/dataset in hand. It also means that the data/fact is the primary source of predicting consumer behavior. In today's digital world, sources of source (data) are multifold. During the process of data collection, if the repository is accepting data from such sources, then all five "V" (Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and Value) of data should be considered. The role of big data in predicting consumer behavior is inevitable. Machine learning models shall be deployed to analyze data from big data. In this chapter, benchmark datasets, and machine learning, are used to demonstrate the usage of artificial intelligence in analyzing, forecasting, and predicting consumer behavior. Before concluding the chapter, the performance of algorithms is evaluated and compared to find the most suitable models for predicting consumer behavior. Benchmark datasets are used in this chapter to represent the role of big data in predicting consumer behavior. 2023 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved. -

Customary complications and screening techniques of early pregnancy
Complications arising during pregnancy are one of the significant public health issues around the world. Being the critical aspect for the growth and development in every human's life, it is necessary to assess any pathological disturbance mainly concerning the well-being of the fetus and mother throughout pregnancy. Few women face health downline while pregnancy, whereas few faces before getting pregnant; both the conditions can lead to complications in maternal and fetal health. Usually, pregnancy-related complications disappear as soon as the baby is delivered or shortly after that. Few complications include premature delivery, abruption of the placenta, preeclampsia, and diabetes. At the same time, gestation and these complications reoccur in successive pregnancies at a higher rate. They can also make the women prone to lifelong medical complications such as metabolic diseases or cardiovascular disease later in life. Most of the complications are mild without progression, but it harms both the mother and baby when they progress. Hence, it is important to diagnose early the danger signs and provide antenatal care to elevate the chances of proper health in both the mother and infant throughout the pregnancy and afterwards. This chapter focuses on the complications faced in the early phase of pregnancies and the screening methods utilized to diagnose them early, along with long-term effects in mothers due to some complications. Involvement of chalcones and coumarins in environmental stress tolerance
Plants are invariably subjected to various environmental stresses that hinder their normal growth and development, which leads to decreased plant productivity and yield. To combat the detrimental effects of such abiotic and biotic stresses, plants have developed diverse mechanisms and one of the prominent ones includes the production of secondary metabolites like phenolic, alkaloids, terpenes, etc. Secondary metabolites serve as major components of the plant stress responses. Chalcones (1,3-diaryl-2-propen-1-one) and coumarins (1,2-benzopyrone) are precursors of flavonoids, a common secondary metabolite of plants that provide a beneficial role during oxidative and biotic stress. Apart from protection, coumarins have certain roles in promoting or inhibiting plant growth, affecting cell division and differentiation and auxin metabolism. These compounds are also known to possess therapeutic properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, and cytotoxic effects when isolated from plants. Besides, chalcones and coumarins have allelopathic effects and protect plants against herbivory. Owing to excellent ROS scavenging properties, chalcones, coumarins, and their derivatives are extensively employed as agents to alleviate adversities associated with abiotic stresses like osmotic, heat, and cold stress, and in defense against pathogen invasion. The application of these secondary metabolites to mitigate atrocities of environmental stress in plants is an interesting and concurrent area of investigation. This chapter highlights the structural and functional details of chalcones and coumarins and their implications in ameliorating environmental stress in plants. 2024 Apple Academic Press, Inc.
